Letting Nature Pamper Me with Snapshots of Indiana Dunes National Park by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: While walking the West Beach Trail with a view looking to the southeast across the waters of Long Lake in this part of Indiana Dunes National Park. My thinking in composing this image was to simply have the swan on the lake waters more or less centered but also have a sweeping view across that by angling my Nikon SLR camera slightly downward. That would bring up the horizon and help minimize what I felt was the negative space of the overcast skies. The distant horizon with the trees and forest would then be in the upper portion of the image and add a contrast to the lake waters.
