𝐆𝐰𝐞𝐧 is mute & communicates via sign language or written word (for times when she's around those who don't know sign, without a translator present) 🙊

They often wear an “emotionless mask”, preferring to keep their feelings fully hidden (internally they're ≈ 𝟼𝟻% anxiety, 𝟸𝟻% shame, & 𝟷𝟶% overwhelming empathy)

Besides her facial ones; 𝐆𝐰𝐞𝐧 has a lot of scars all over her body (she conceals them with clothing & HATES even glimpsing them while nude), she's extremely ashamed of them since they were all received during battle (except the scar through her eye ... that was received during the 𝟷ˢᵗ, & ONLY TIME, 𝐎𝐬𝐚𝐢 was allowed to “train” her 🩹☹️)

They continue to take cold baths & sleep on the floor (despite having the option not to ... they feel that comfort isn't something they can afford to get used to, or even really deserve in the end)

Because of her touch-aversion (which developed throughout her early childhood “training”), primarily with skin-to-skin contact, 𝐆𝐰𝐞𝐧 wears 𝘨𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘴 (despite her condition she's also extremely touch-starved & currently finds physical touch with her brother, 𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐚𝐡, comfortable 😔)

Despite their best efforts, they have a nervous habit of chewing their fingers (wearing gloves mostly helps alleviate this issue + they're unable to physically injure themself if they DO end up biting them)

𝐆𝐰𝐞𝐧'𝐬 tattoos help her cope with the dysphoria + dysmorphia she experiences by covering her battle scars (she can focus on the beautiful Celtic art instead of her body 😌)

They keep trinkets gifted to them by most of their older siblings (& keeps most of them on hand whenever possible)

𝐆𝐰𝐞𝐧 does NOT enjoy killing (it makes her sick to even think of those she's harmed ... meeting 𝐁𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐞 & some of the other knights again is literally her worst nightmare made real) & would gladly avoid fighting entirely if possible (she does enjoy good-natured sparring though) ... unless, of course, anyone she loves is endangered (especially 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐝) then she will NOT hesitate to incapacitate the aggressor🗡️😠

While in real combat she enters into a dissociative state (namely: episodic depersonalization); once she comes back to herself she becomes violently physically ill & often loses consciousness when her adrenaline finally runs out

Because of their inconspicuous presence, 𝐆𝐰𝐞𝐧 tends to accidentally scare people (despite being quite tall) 😶‍🌫️

She used to be fairly average in height during her early youth but had a HUGE growth spurt at 𝟷𝟾 (which resulted in chronic pain in her legs, back, & joints)

Their hair is very long (𝘬𝘯𝘦𝘦 𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘵𝘩) so they mostly keep it tied back/up in, often elaborately braided, hairstyles

She's always had a soft spot for children & very much looks forward to getting to know 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐝 better (she made/gifted him a flower bracelet) 🥺

I love the Baltic Sea, all the languages of the surrounding lands and countless islands make it so cool. Back when i lived in Poland i lived in the southern sudeta mountain range a whole country distance away from the sea, though i did get to see it in the summer. Always rainy and windy and cold shores with just enough sun to have a rather cold swim. Though i remember the polish beaches fondly, all the signs and shops in polish. I do miss it.

Now i live in the north in the city of many islands, where the sea freezes in the winter and the water feels like it's a river in the summer, with bustling bridges over the archipelago full of trains and cars and bikes and people. Always a few kilometers away from the nearest windy beach. With distance the culture has changed and the language, and even the food is different. But the coastlines, and the sea is the same, cold, windy and with forested coastlines.

This experience is shared between Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Poland, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Finland.

I don't know, it makes me happy that it's like that and there's so many people who have swimmed in the same water as me hehe.

I might draw more of the cast with pokemon so, I was wondering what type of trainer min would be? I'm not a min expert but I'm stuck between these 3.

I felt as though she'd be a jack of all trades, or at least try to have a team that encompasses many types and advantages since she's clever, although many ghost types have themes that would fit her (it's not a reference to her being dead i swear...)

Psychic is obviously the type for nerds, so if she was a jack of all trades then maybe she could have a psychic as her ace? Or smn like that, or mainly use psychic types. Doing a poll since i wanna know other people's thoughts on what types she'd use! Min fans pls help

I love Disco Elysium for a lot of reasons, and among those reasons is how dying feels so unbelievably bleak and soulless. Like, when you begin the game, you are told by the reptilian brain and limbic system that this is what pure nothingness feels like. That you do not exist. Again does this happen after your encounter with the tribunal leaves you unconscious, hell, the reptilian brain literally states that, "this is death."

This effectively forces the player to associate death with these characters. That whenever you slip in to darkness, the reptilian brain and limbic system will wait for you there.

Now, what happens when you actually die in the game? Harry finally gets that heart attack and, in my last moments, the Endurance skill narrated to me the pain and fear as fact. The screen then faded to black.

There was nothing. No limbic system, no reptilian brain, no nothing. True nothing. Just an apathetic news headline for me to read, forcing me out of the perspective of Du Bois before sending me back to the title screen to sit in it.

His story was over, and no game has ever made me feel like it truly do be like that before.

Completely out of the blue, I know, but I'm curious and I need to know. What's your Shrek 3 reimagining?-Anon

Okay so I accidentally posted that question before giving the full answer so here it is! My Shrek the Third Rewrite!

Be warned though this will be a doozy to read: Harold and Lillian go to the seaside bc the former thinks he's dying so they leave Fiona in Charge. By then she and Shrek already had the babies and Shrek is just trying hard not to let his fears consume him. Thinhs are going fine until the villains uprising starts. Fiona sends Shrek, Donkey Puss and the kids to Camelot to stay with her cousin while she and her Princesses handle things.

At Camelot Artie is not a slacker but the quiet bookish type. He's into politics and diplomacy which clashes with the more physical Camelot ideals. He is shocked to see a family of ogres, a talking ass and a cat, show up at his school. Even more his cousin married that ogre. Because of his nonexistent relationship with his father (which was also the source of bullying as no one liked Uther and took their frustrations out on his kid) Artie struggles with trust issues.

With time and patience he and Shrek gets to know each other. Artie becomes comfortable with the idea of being related to ogres and learning of how bad the persecution was decided to do something about it to prove his worth as a person. So he agrees to help then take back FFW.

While all this going on Charming takes advantage of the situation by trying to be a hero (again); this time being aided by his recently revealed Father Bruce.

Now Bruce is your typical Dark Fantasy rougish protagonist who made it his mission to help Charming. He used to be a former Prince Charming so he knows the ropes though his past is still quite the secret. But Charming doesn't really care about all that he's just happy to see he has one living parent and support. He's so manly and badass and takes no shit from anyone and has lots of wealth from the times he raided dragon dens and hapless schmucks who caught him on a bad day! And his voice is fucking AWESOME courtesy of Bruce Campbell!

Can't say the same for that loathesome barmaid Gwynn.

Gwynn is another player in our game. See she works at the the villain pub; at first confronted Charming for not really giving a shit about villains or general outcasts until it was convenient for him. She also wear a veil over her face and has touch aversion. Gwynn only joined of Charming helped her recover some of his dead mother's magic that she needs. They didn't get along at first.

Eventually they get so fed up thay Gwynn challenges Chamring to a duel which he snubs at first then she cuts a bit of his hair and he's all "oh it's ON NOW!!" They fight but find they're quite enjoying themselves. However their antics piss off Bruce. He forces his son right back to etiquette training and kicks Gwynn out so she wouldn't distract him. That night Gwynn visits Charming to apologize, leading to a wholesome talk about experiencing similar feelings of inadequacy.

With Fiona she is trying to keep the resistance together but it's hard when you have ornery gingerbread cookies and apathetic Princesses. She gets intel about the uprising but also very curious revelation about her curse and that FG may have been behind it. She also learns Charming has taken over her castle and may be part of the coup.

Back with the Shrek Clout Gang they're travelling through Camelot; Artie helping random people along the way, culminating in rescuing a maiden named Rhodanthe.. As a sign of thanks she leads them to Merlin, Artie's old mentor. They learn of the sword Calibur that can help stop the villains. Merlin tasks them with confronting their worse fears, and after passing this challenge they're able to move forward. He tells them he doesn't have the sword on himself but that it is located in the heart of one's kingdom. Realizing it's in FFW; the Shrek Clout Gang and Rhodanthe head to FFW using a magic map.

By then Fiona and her team manage to storm the castle and confront Charming. However he came prepared actually Bruce's doing and has them cornered. He throws them in the dungeon and waits on Shrek. In fact he's so excited about his prospects that he goes ti visit one of his mommy's old friends a fortune teller - the teller warns him an ominous fate awaits him (his canon fate from the movie). Putting him on edge. At this stage Bruce is also acting very weird especially when Godmother or Fiona gets brought up, causing Gwynn's suspicions to grow.

The Shrek Clout Gang enter FG'S abandoned factory to find potions to help them. However the villains and Charming catch up with them. Both Charming and Artie are taken aback to how similar they look but The latter quickly brushes is aside and has him put in tbe dungeon. Rhodanthe and the babies are taken prisoner inside the castle; everyone else gets thrown in the dungeons. Shrek is sent to the local Colosseum which is set up as a massive stage play - to put him on trial for treachery.

Which is just a bs excuse to execute him.

In the dungeon Artie finds Fiona but doesn't recognise the ogre lady before him. She tells them it is her that she was cursed as a baby but decided to stay an ogre. She thanks Artie for helping her, and after a pep talk Artie finds the strength to keep fighting and concocts an escape. He says he has FG's diary which Fiona concludes her as the responsible party for her curse.

Insert badass Princesses Fight Scene:

Donkey and Puss free the rest of their friends and rounds them up to help Fiona.

At the castle Rhodanthe is sad. But seeing how oblivious the triplets cheer her up. A dressed up Gwynn comes in with food. Gwynn who by that point was regretting getting involved with the Charmings, is sympathetic and decides to help Rhodanthe escape. Gwynn shows them a secret exit, explaining that she is staying behind to keep an eye on Charming. Rhodanthe manages to catch uo with Fiona and reunites the Triplets with her. Fiona is thankful; Rhondanthe says she'll keep an eye on the sky. Once they secure triplets somewhere safe hands the entire Resistance heads to the colosseum.

The play begins: Gwynn gets into her damsel role as instructed. She can't help but laugh as Shrek proceeds to roast the heck out of the unlucky actor. Angered Charming attempts to kill the tied up monster The Resistance barges in and a massive battle is about to start but Artie intervenes and attempts to appeal to Charming's better nature. The misguided prince scoffs but then Artie pulls out something very interesting and hands it to Charming. In FG's diary - which her son was told was lost - she talks about finding and losing her true love; and had made Charming the inheritor of her estate. That's when Bruce appears and try to take FG's diary put his hands. Charming demands an explanation.

It turns out Bruce previously told him that there wasn't any documents for Charming. But there was. He lied solely so Charming wouldn't get anymore distracted. Feeling betrayed Charming questions why daddy would hide something so big when Artie speaks up to refer to Bruce as Uther. Everyone is shocked to find out that Uther & Bruce are one and the same.

His ruse broken Uther admits that he has been the one to curse Fiona years aho because he was mad ove getting passed over for a frog. Gwynn comes down and says she tried to warn Charming that daddy was a deadbeat. Fiona is saddened to learn that her own uncle was behind everything. Realizing that his father only saw him as a tool Charming takes off the crown is about to hand it to Fiona when Uther snatches it out his hands! He pulls a dagger out to finish the job.

Suddenly Rhodanthe as a black swan swoops in and tussles with Uther. In the commotion they knock over the tower. Artie pulls Charming out of the way just in time. The window part passes over Uther harmlessly, the stress of it all causing him to faint. The crown rolls out his hand and Fiona scoops it up to put it back on her head.

Everyone has a brief celebration but then Artie shouts Rhodanthe's name and cradles her dying body. She thanks him for helping her and passes in his arms. Artie begins to weep; everyone grieves her and Charming feels immense guilt. But then Gwynn notices she still has some of FG's magic powder on hand and decides to use the rest of it to heal Rhodanthe. But they need water first. Fiona deduces using the castle fountain - the very on her parents first met - as a vessel.

Immediately Artie and the heroes rush back the castle and head to the courtyard. Using Gwynn's powder Artie mixes it into water and place Rhodanthe's body in it. Everyone waits and just as they're about to give up the water starts to glow pink and lifts up- changing and healing Rhodanthe. She's back to being human complete with a beautiful gown and sword - Calibur. She hands Artie the sword and the two friends embrace.

The next day Fiona gets right to work rebuilding the town. Uther gets thrown in jail and after much maneuvering she decides to forgive Charming BUT not without community service. The villains also reform and become more accepted into society. Finally she signs into law that things like slavery and persecution against magic creatures be illegal. Shrek finally got over his fears of being a parent. Harold and Lillian come back and resume their duties. Fiona decides to abdicate the throne to be a full time mother and protector of magical creatures; leaving Artie as the once and future king.

In the epilogue Shrek and Fiona celebrate the triplets first birthday at the swamp; with Harold Lillian and Artie visiting.

After serving his punishment Charming returns back to his mom's factory and with Gwynn's help turns it into a spa/theatre school so that EVERYONE gets chance to be beautiful and Gwynn is able to be a singer full time (and is slowly opening up about her past). Artie has Merlin become his advisor and, Rhodanthe is given title of Lady of the Lake. She also granted the ability to turn into a swan at will.

Now everyone - including Charming - gets their happily ever after! Artie has an actual character arc and there's plenty of mushy found family fluff + romance to go around!

Except for Uther he lost Happily Ever After Rights <3

He does get a visit from an peculiarly odd stranger who offers him a deal....

yayyy omg fandom ocs are so fun it’s funny bc each fandom oc I make just becomes like a regular oc for me after time 😭😭😭 I did want to make a genshin oc eventually bc I used to have some but I kinda scrapped them after a while bc I wasn’t really feeling them anymore 😔 also hhh the image of you holding my ocs is so wholesome 🥹🥹🥹 hmm little preview 🤔 a lot of them have abilities because they’re espers hehe so powers!! ✨✨✨ I’ll probs go in depth more once I start posting >:) 🤫🤫🤫

also yeah the story was super cool I loved the Diamond and Pearl clans a lot tbh 🥺✨ and just the overall feel of then game was cozy and almost whimsical which makes sense since many felt like it was a pkmn botw

genshin ocs are so fun! I think they become more fleshed out if you have someone to make headcanons/interactions with. Mine was more of a traveler oc who became an npc/playable genshin oc pipeline after giving her some backstory. It’s ok to scrap tho sometimes you’re just not feeling them and that’s alright 😌 you can recycle/reuse initial ideas for new ocs hehe

The preview 👀 am excited bc most of my main ocs have some power involved too so bddbd 👀 interaction lore 👀🤲🏻

I really feel like the lore and world building in Arceus is so interesting, I’m really excited to play it soon 🥺 sometimes, I feel like recent entries lack this depth or inspired storylines so the whole isekai/ time traveling aspect is so intriguing. I think the last title game I felt this much enthusiasm for was either diapearl or black/white bc recently I just feel like collecting pkmn > be interested in the story 😭

Turning off Discord's New Mobile Layout [OUTDATED]

EDIT (Oct 22/2023): This was originally posted on Sept 8/23 and since then there are some people saying that the option to turn off the layout is no longer there. Currently I no longer have the option to turn the new layout back on so I'm not entirely sure where Discord is going with this. I still encourage everyone to leave Discord feedback regarding their opinions about the layout. (end edit).

EDIT (Dec 6/2023): Discord has started rolling out this new mobile layout permanently along with some other changes (such as adding the 'Midnight' theme for OLED screens, though how it's different compared to the previous OLED theme is unclear). The changes are discussed in this blog post as well as this YouTube video. Discord has acknowledged on Twitter that the new layout will "take some getting used to" but that the original mobile layout is no longer available.

As turning off this feature is no longer possible I have disabled reblogs on this post.

If you do not want this new update, and have not received it yet, you may need to consider disabling auto-updates in your app/playstore. For those already affected, some people have suggested that downloading an APK of an older version to get around this but I don't know how that works or how to do that so please don't ask me.

If you have any thoughts on this layout change I recommend sending them through Discord's Feedback forum as there is nothing that I personally can do about it.

(Note: Discord themselves do have instructions on how to turn it off but it's buried at the bottom of their blog post about the change).

In case anyone else gets stuck with this garbage update, here's how you can turn it off:

In the bottom right corner there is now a section labelled "You".

Tap the "You" button to open the tab. This should bring up your Discord profile. In the top right corner there should be a little gear button for your Settings.

Tap on this to open the Settings up. You will need to navigate to your "Appearance" settings. Now there are actually two ways to do this now.

As normal you can scroll down to the Appearance section of the Settings:

Or you can utilise one of the actually useful things included in this update: The search bar. Yes, with the new layout you can type in the setting you're looking for instead of scrolling through them all.

Once you open up your Appearance settings you will need to scroll down until you find the section for the New Layout.

Tap on it to disable it and viola! You should be back to the old (and, in my honest opinion, more usable) layout. After turning it off you will be prompted to leave some feedback regarding your experience with the new layout, do with that what you will.

✮ They were quite timid in high school, but being in the band helped build up their confidence (+ not be self-conscious about their appearance) 😤

✮ It's difficult to anger 𝐄𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐬𝐞; they prefer to resolve issues with calm words (+ processing/expressing their “anger” through writing music), but like any other person they DO have a limit, & once it's reached they DON'T HOLD ANYTHING BACK 🤬

✮ Their parents' general absence in their life has left them feeling nothing but resentment towards them 😒 (their mom & dad are genuinely the ONLY people who can easily get a rise out of them), so they moved out at 𝟷𝟾; they've been living on their own in an apartment they rent (initially with the support of 𝐒𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 & her mum)

✮ 𝐄𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐬𝐞 tried their best to keep 𝐒𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 IN the band (they voted to keep their vocals a duet + begged the others to apologize to 𝐒𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 after she left) ... but the band IS a democracy & majority rules even if they weren't happy about it 🥲

i know no one really cares what i do with my page, but i just wanted to let those of you that care know that i took a little break from creating regular content because i was busy with school and personal stuff but it’s been more than a year since school has ended for me and things are looking good for me right now, so i’ll try to start creating more content because i genuinely enjoy creating gifs and sharing them here. i also know i usually would create gifs from going seventeen content, and if i’m honest, i’m a little behind on going seventeen, so i’m going to try to catch up and start creating regular-ish content again because it makes me happy, and i realized i had forgotten how happy it made me feel to create original content on this app.

I can't believe I've never seen the great gatsby before ngl. My sister studied the book at a level, my mum studied it for american literature and saw the movie twice in 3d, and even my father has read it and he only really reads sci fi and dystopia (infodump under cut lmfao)

I've seen baz luhrmann & dicaprio's romeo and juliet countless times and it's my favourite shakespeare film adaptation of the one's ive seen. Like seriously how have i not seen the great gatsby yet???

The direction is similarly great, and the party scenes have the action film quality that romeo and juliet has. It uses a lot of dialogue and the dreamlike style that the novel posseses and it's very, very symmetrical. It really displays the obscene whimsy of rich people & gatsby. Dicaprio really makes him feel like no other character in the movie, or that Nick meets at all. Everything slides together almost perfectly. I'm so impressed with its artistic expression & every fast sequence is breathtaking

I haven't seen Carey Mulligan in anything before i don't think but she's like, fantastic as daisy, like shes SO GOOD i can't get over it, and tobey maguire is unsurprisingly great, and i couldn't imagine nick as anyone else now that I'm watching it. He's so perfect and his preformance is charming and awkward and just. Everything i would want in this movie, seriously

All of the rich people are so unreal and every scene of gatsby's big parties, basically every scene gatsby's in honestly, is almost like a fantasy especially from the perspective of nick and the movie just never stops rolling

i do feel a little better now but like, i still need to lay this on the ground and tell people

idc if anyone reads this or not, i just want to say it out loud

i’m not as confident and positive as people think i am. i have extremely low self esteem, and have been self deprecating for as long as i can remember. yes, that means my entire life.

i’m almost 27 years old, its been a struggle every single day of my life. i do try, i do. but when people make it sound easy with words like “you should try doing this or that, it might work” its not going to be easy for me.

take drawing for example. do you know how many canvases and ideas i’ve scrapped because it just looks ‘wrong’? do you know that as someone who aims to be consistent, how difficult it is for me to do so? do you know, that the reason i’ve stopped drawing for more than a decade is because i had depression, and i just wanted everything to end because i was just so so tired? that i was tired of being played, being clowned, being lied to by people i thought i could trust?

alot of people i’ve met assume that i’m great at this. news flash; I’M NOT. i struggle so much daily that its not even amusing to me anymore. being told to 'suck it up’ and 'people have it worse’ its not helpful in anyway. i’m trying. get it through your head and stop assuming i’m naturally gifted in this bullshit.

i’ve recently tried to relearn drawing from scratch. its not much, it looks terrible, but for once in my life i actually am proud of the pieces i’ve put out nowadays, even if they look bad to other people.

and how does my headspace cope with this? having me see and compare the amount of attention other people have been getting vs how much i got. this is just. its just not great on me. i had to mute and hide art channels because its making me want to look and slap me in the face with it. i almost left discord servers because of this.

i know there’s gonna be people coming to me and saying “you know you can talk to me! my DMs are open”. again, its not easy being in my shoes. i have major trust issues. i’ve only told one person about how i really feel. i only have one real close friend who will listen and never judge me for how i am. i know you guys mean well, but its not easy. not at all.

its why i’m so attached to John Ward as a character. we’re both lonely characters in this world we’re fighting against. we both have issues, alot of it. i’ve not been diagnosed for years (and counting) and i don’t think i’ll ever figure it out. i just relate to him so easily that he brings me comfort. a mere fictional character, it almost makes me laugh at how ironic this is.

to the people who read this and reached the end; don’t take pity on me. we have our problems, yes. but this is just a battle that i’ll never win at any point in life. the only thing i can do is to keep trying, even if i’m losing. i’m not gonna stop doing what i love. just know that its been alot of difficult days to get to this point.
