The Hays Code didn't end so much as it just got renamed "MPAA." It's not officially following the Code, but its ethos is grounded in the same mentality. It should be thrown in the same garbage can the Code belongs in.
"Oh but how are parents supposed to know if a film is appropriate?!?!?!" By looking up the plot synopsis? By checking sites like Does the Dog Die? By taking some goddamn responsibility if they don't want their kids watching certain things?
The internet has made it easier than ever to look up a plot summary and content warnings in less than five minutes. If you don't have internet access, most libraries offer that for free, and also have youth librarians who would absolutely love to give you recommendations on media--not just books!--that is appropriate for your young kiddos, and for you. Talk to them about what things you're trying to avoid, and what stories you're trying to find, and they're more than happy to help narrow down a list of things for you to take home and enjoy.
Individual librarians have their own biases, but those biases aren't the Law of the Library. I was checking out "adult" books from the library as a tween, and no librarian ever stopped me--even the ones who would always ask, "hey, are you sure you know what you're checking out, here? Does your Mom know what you're reading?" (She did, and encouraged me to read widely in whatever genre interested me.)
The MPAA has too much power. We don't need a biased, highly conservative body of assholes with the power to say "actually, being gay is Adults Only, women's pleasure is more obscene than men's, stories about people of color are automatically treated more harshly, and if you get Too Political in the Wrong Way, we'll slap you with a rating that ensures it won't get seen by the people you're trying to reach."
The MPAA doesn't provide a necessary service, it just spews bullshit grounded in "but think of the children!"

Y'know someone's probably waxed poetic about this already but it's on my mind so I'm gonna do it again.
When it comes to encouraging people to learn about native plants and habitat and involving themselves and their yards in the wider ecosystem, you gotta meet them where they're at.
And maybe that means they won't go as far into it as you are or would like them to in your wildest dreams. But even small steps count towards the bigger picture and I think we need to appreciate that more.
An example from my own life is my mom and the current gardening project we're working on. We're planning out the garden beds in the front of the yard by the mailbox--my mom's previous plantings for the most part haven't worked out, so I'm taking a crack at it.
I'm a pollinator gardening enthusiast who cares more about attracting as many butterflies bees and hummingbirds as possible than keeping things 'neat' and 'tidy'. However, not only do we live in an HOA neighborhood (though not as intense as some other stories I've heard), but I know my mother--an interior designer who has a deeply vested care for making sure the exterior of the house looks as Nice as possible.
We're still getting a pollinator garden in the front though. How? I'm meeting her where she's at, I'm making some concessions, she's making some concessions, but ultimately we're making something that works for the both of us. She doesn't want the plants too tall and messy? We'll trim them back in fall and winter--the insects can use the backyard garden to nest in. She doesn't want things too wild and bushy and weedy? We'll add a nice mulch to the beds, keep things a bit spaced out until they grow in to their larger sizes. She doesn't know the latin names for the plants I'm asking for, let alone how to pronounce them to ask for them at a garden center? That's fine, I don't know the Latin names for most things anyways, let's just use common names.
Does she care that the garden will attract butterflies and hummingbirds? Not intrinsically--she sees it as more of a bonus, if anything. She just cares about what color everything will be and if it'll be easy to maintain. The fact that they're native plants barely registers as a plus side to her. And honestly? That is fine.
If I approached this problem with a hardheaded attitude on how I wanted it to be just as wild and free as my backyard garden? There wouldn't be any native plants in the front beds. It's not like I didn't teach my mom things, but I didn't lecture her like she was lesser just for not knowing or caring as much about native gardening as I do. And that, ultimately, made her more open to the idea than she would've been if I looked down on her like I've seen too many people do to others.
Not everyone is going to develop a deeply seated care about native plants and Latin names and I don't think it's reasonable to expect that. Meet people where they're at and you just might get a lot more done. Meet people where they're at and you just might find they'll get excited enough to learn more--but if they don't want to learn more, that is fine.
We can't expect everyone on the globe to suddenly become plant experts rattling off Latin names left and right and professionally ID'ing native and invasive plants. In the same way we wouldn't expect everyone to suddenly learn the ins and outs of learning code, or how to synthesize medicines, or how to properly build a house. And that is fine. Because we can lean on those who do know when these things come up.
I lost track of where this was going but. Y'know????

And UY's third cour's final PV dropped.... which means it's time for me to share my thoughts!!
(And as usual. Ignore the shitty quality of the screenshots)
First up, I have to mention the fact that MAISONdes is doing the OP and ED again!! The new OP is 'Rock On*' feat. Hashimero, Meguru and the new ED is 'Raizakura' feat. 9Lana, SAKURAmoti. Here are the gorgeous album cover arts for both songs and oh my gosh, they are so precious!!
*It might either be 'Lock on' since the Japanese pronunciation for 'L' and 'R' sounds the same.
(Edit: Seems like it is 'Lock on' after all!!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As for my thoughts on the songs themselves, so far they sound great, but to form a proper opinion I need to hear the whole thing as well as see how it pairs with the visuals.
Now to the actual PV itself.. (Attention: Spoilers!!)
First up, as expected, there's a lot of new footage shown. Many of them are from the episodes shown in the previous PV which I've already discussed (go read it if you haven't, since this is technically a part 2) so I'm not going to talk about any episode shown previously unless it's new or specifically worth mentioning..
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First, I want to talk about the adaptation of the hilariously deceptive 'Lum becomes a cow' chapter. Let's be honest, this is hands down the funniest AtaLum chapter of all time and it looks like the remake is making the AtaLum moments in this one extra dramatic (they even added rain for more effect!) just so the final payoff would hit us in the most hilarious way possible (unless those bits are from something else but I doubt it). AtaLum enjoyers (me included) are being really well fed this cour, huh?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don't know where these and a few others come from (please tell me if you know!!). I'm guessing the fourth one might be from the chapter about Ryu's mom since it was already confirmed previously and the montage looks like a flashback with lot of beach vibes but I might be wrong. The Kotatsu Neko one might come from the Kitsune (fox) chapter with the photo and camera since I remember a similar scene which looks like that shot, but again I might be wrong. There are a few other scenes as well (Onsen-mark getting hit, Ten hanging from a tree and such). Maybe they're anime original scenes? Who knows, but we'll know sooner enough...
Tumblr media
That's really all I have to say anything new about the PV, everything else are chapters I've already pointed out. That aside I do have to give props to how absolutely gorgeous everything looks as well as the fluid animation. The above shot of Lum and Ten sleeping is so pretty!! There are others but there's too many to count and it's obvious which all they are. I also like how Inaba's bunny realm looks and I'm also in love with AtaLum's outfit colorings for their 'date' in the electric jungle arc, they're kinda caramel coded!! Speaking of AtaLum, the PV also showed a lot of their key moments which surprised me since I though they'd keep those a secret till the episode airs, but to be fair, it's only bits and it did end up making the PV a bit emotional.. :')
Tumblr media
(I had space for one more image till I hit Tumblr's limit so here, have an Inaba coming out of a trash can. He looks so proud of himself XD)
Anyways, that's all for now. This cour seems to be very AtaLum focused, to the point where the OP and ED album cover arts have both Lum and Ataru in it!! But it still has other fun storylines as well and I'm excited for all the episodes, may it be big or small. There's one week left and we'll probably get next weeks episode titles on Tuesday (as how it always is). One more week, here we go!!!

see maybe this is just me, but As A Character Designer Myself i think the rain code designs are some of komatzuzaki's best work yet. they're weird and campy and yet they work so well. i do think the characters' personalities shine through on first and second glances. I don't even usually like neon colors but I think the combo of bright neons with understated neutrals is so fascinating and memorable. no one else does it like this. a lot of the small details on the designs are actually packed with symbolic meaning (esp. yakou's - I'd love to see you unpack all that) and the overabundance of logos is evocative of the corpo-cyber-future setting. the rain code designs feel much more cohesive in terms of that setting than the DR designs do - which makes sense bc DR is more about disparate people being united by their circumstances - dialed to 11 in v3 where the designs are at their wackiest. but this ain't about her this is about rain code.
I love that characters you wouldn't expect (zange, fubuki, priest...) have weird facial piercings and tattoos. I love that the animal ears are never explained. I love desuhiko's tboy swag and yeah, the golden yellow and the dirty blonde and the neon yellow accents don't look great together - and I think the clashing colors work wonders to establish his personality. this kid dressed himself and thought it would make him look cool. you idiot. aphex's hat is stupid. zilch's ears are stupid. vivia's bandages-instead-of-clothes are stupid - and yet reading into that choice is very insightful. (he puts on a lazy air but if he was really lazy he'd just put on an oversized emo band tee instead of wrapping himself up like a mummy every day. he actually does care about how he comes across to people.)
there's a few videos about fashion YouTubers judging the DR fits, and at one point they brought in Yuma and shinigami and they hated yuma's outfit so much because it's dorky and they wouldn't wear it. but like!!! that's the whole point is that it's dorky!!!! his little trainee shorts. his stupid fkin bowl cut making him look like a little boy whose mom still cuts his hair. (which of course turns out to be a meaningful deception. his haircut influences how the audience and other characters see him to great effect.) and yet he has the coolest fkin shoes ever and when he puts his hat and cape on he's got such an iconic silhouette. teru teru bozu lookin ass /pos.
anyway yeah. i wasnt a fan of komatzuzaki's designs in the beginning but over the years ive come around. I'm a firm designer that a character design doesn't necessarily have to look good to be a good character design. I like it when they aren't afraid to make the characters look cringe - I love cringe. I eat it up. thanks for coming to my Ted talk.
Even more perspectives! I think your take of 'bad-looking designs can be good actually' is a great way to look at Rain Code's characters. To put it simply, it's unique! 'Nobody does it like Komatsuzaki'-kind of campiness. Honestly, Rain Code's designs remind me a lot of Danganronpa 2's designs in terms of color. That cast is full of much brighter colors compared to the lesser saturation of DR1 n V3's cast colors. And it makes sense cause it's a brighter game overall in terms of setting and upping the ridiculousness of the killing game in every way! Rain Code sorta follows that with its own designs by crankin' up the neons to really ride the idea home that this game is wacky right from the get-go and it's a Resident Evil game in disguise! And y'know what Resident Evil loves to indulge in? Campiness! Rain Code wears its inspirations on its sleeve, and that's totally chill.
As a sidenote to your sidenote regarding Yakou's clothing details, I have actually written a bit about how he might perceive them, but I haven't yet written about what they could truly mean in terms of how they relate to him narratively. The meaning of the phoenix patterns are painfully obvious though heh. And I also greatly appreciate the recognition that Vivia really does care about his appearance despite his 'laziness'. His hedonistic lifestyle includes his own attire, wearing whatever he pleases no matter the effort! Like I've preached before, Vivia has the energy, he just prefers to use it only when necessary.
Thank you for the TED talk *golf claps*

"You look like you're pissed off," says Eddie, taking the plate you hold out to him.
You are pissed off. Well, maybe pissed off isn't the right term; it's more of a strange mix between despair and delight, between absolute happiness and extreme misery, but yes, it's there.
Your mother had invited Eddie over for dinner — of course, she had — and now that you've survived the meal (which was punctuated by lots of praise for Eddie and lots of genuinely interested questions about how he's been doing for the past two years) she'd decided to 'go for a night walk', code for 'I'm giving you and Eddie privacy so you can work out whatever this is'.
Sometimes you almost wish she wasn't such a nice mom.
Cleaning up seemed like a much better idea than just sitting alone with Eddie, so that's what you're doing now — washing the remaining dishes while he dries and puts them away. Eddie still remembers where most things are; even that hasn't changed. Nothing about you seems to have changed, you think. You're still in the exact same place, the same person you've always been, while he's found a brilliant path that doesn't include you.
Being happy for him is easy. Forgetting what he means to you…not so much.
"Y/N," he says, and this time he doesn't move to take the plate you're holding out to him until your gaze meets his. "I'm sorry."
Eddie doesn't usually apologize. In fact, he usually doesn't do anything he needs to apologize for, and when he does, he usually apologizes through actions more than words. He'd bring you your favorite food, make you a new mixtape, rent a movie he knew you'd like. It's strange to hear him apologize, especially after all this time apart.
"About what?" you ask.
"About leaving."
It's not fair, you think. It's not fair for him to be so nice. He should have gotten stuck up and insufferable when he got fame like any normal young rockstar does. It would make it easier for you to get over him.
"There's no need to apologize for that," you say mildly.
Water drips from the plate you're holding onto the floor. You try to grab the dishcloth to dry it yourself, but Eddie doesn't let go. Instead, he pulls at the fabric and you stumble closer to him as he clearly wanted to, too close for comfort.
Eddie has never acknowledged the concept of personal space — it's just how he is, how he's always been. Being this close to him never failed to make your heart beat faster.
"Eddie," you chide, the same tone as when you were kids and he needed to be stopped from going to far.
He lets you get the dishcloth and just watches as you dry and put the last plate back in its place, slightly brushing past him as you do so. Eddie looks like he wants to say something but can't work up the courage to let it out. Your back is turned, but you don't have to look at him to know he's looking at you too — the butterflies in your stomach tell you as much.
When you do turn around, you confirm you're right; Eddie is leaning against the kitchen counter with his arms crossed, staring quietly at you. Awkward silences are a common occurrence between you two now, it seems, so you say the first thing that comes to mind in order to avoid it.
"I thought you hated yellow," you say, eyeing the T-shirt under the leather jacket he's wearing. It's by no means a bright yellow tone, one of your favorite colors, but it's still yellow.
"Uh," Eddie looks down like he doesn't remember what he's wearing. "Yeah, well, I guess I like it now."
"You do?"
"It reminds me of you."
There it is — the silence. The awkward silence. Eddie is much better at creating it than you are at avoiding it.
Fortunately, something else picks his interest pretty quickly.
"Did you get a tattoo?" It's a rhetorical question. He's past the initial surprise. Eddie already saw that you did — he had a good view of the design on the back of your shoulder as you reached over to put the plate away.
He walks over to examine it with curious eyes and a sweet smile, long before you can protest. In fact, before you even know what's happening, he's standing behind you, fingertips grazing your bare skin as he brushes your hair off your shoulder to get a better look at the tattoo — and if just being in the same room alone with Eddie is already kind of complicated, let alone being this close to him.
He still smells the same as always. His fingers are still calloused from relentlessly playing the guitar. It's a window to the past.
Damn halter dress. What a bad decision it was wearing it tonight. You should have pretended to be sick so you wouldn't have to come down to dinner.
Eddie's fingers trace each line and shape of the tattoo on your skin as if he wants to memorize it. He's so close you can feel the heat of his body and you're tense, too tense for you to explain why without saying something silly.
"It's pretty," Eddie practically whispers, not taking his hand off your skin. "Suits you."
It's overwhelming, all of this. You only realize you're holding your breath when you're forced to breathe again, and then you force yourself to turn around to face Eddie.
"You went alone?" he asks quietly. The promise of another awkward silence is suffocating, so you say the first thing that comes to mind — it just so happens to be the truth.
"Steve went with me."
This seems to take him by surprise. Eddie even looks a little hurt; you know him well enough to read it in his expression even if it quickly disappears.
"Steve, huh?" he tries to sound normal, but he doesn't. He sounds almost…jealous. Is it possible? Judging by the way he's looking everywhere but you, it seems to be. "Are you two like, a thing now?"
Wait. Wait.
"'A thing?'"
"You know what I mean."
No, I don't, you're about to say, wanting him to spell it out for you so you could be sure he was, in fact, jealous; but then, something else occurs to you.
"We went on a date," it's not a lie. Technically. You're also not telling the entire truth though. How Steve was nice and sweet and funny and it still wasn't enough because he couldn't be who you really wanted, how the night came to a close sooner than it should have.
Eddie doesn't need the entire truth — his mind is running wild already. "A-and how was it?" he asks.
Are you imagining the desperation in his eyes, the need to know?
"It was…" Useless? Enlightening? A complete waste of time? "...nice."
"'Nice'? Just 'nice'?"
Oh, boy.
"What do you want me to say?"
"I don't know, I-" Eddie shrugs, but you can see the frustration he's so desperately trying to hide, subtleties that would go unnoticed by pretty much anyone but his best friend — former best friend, you remind yourself. "So you're together now?"
"No!" You don't want to tell him that, but you can't drag Steve deeper into this mess. It wouldn't be fair. "No, we're not. He's just-"
A friend?
"-boring?" Eddie offers. He doesn't really think so. In fact, he likes Steve, likes him a lot; he'd go as far as to say they are friends. But the devil on his shoulder has been yelling at him since you told Eddie about that stupid date.
The date itself might have been a bit boring since you could only ever see Steve as a friend, but you're not about to tell Eddie that — in fact, you seem to take it personally, he notices, blood rushing to your cheeks.
"No!" you say firmly. "Steve was nice and funny and a gentleman, and he would never-"
Eddie kisses you. It just happens…just like that. One moment you're going on and on about how wonderful Steve is; the next, he's taking your face in his hands and pressing his lips on yours like he couldn't have done anything else.
You inhale in surprise as he presses on, the kiss growing desperate when he crowds you into the wall. Eddie is certain where you hesitate, your hands not quite knowing where to go as one of his slides down to wrap around your waist, fingers squeezing softly at your skin. His other hand gently holds your jaw, thumb caressing your cheek ever so slightly.
You're out of breath when he pulls away. Eddie rests his forehead against yours for a moment, lips almost touching, so close you're breathing the same air.
For the first time, he doesn't have anything to say.
You look at him with a question in your eyes — a thousand questions, really, standing very still between his body and the wall. Why, how, what if; he doesn't answer any of them, looking back at you with the same kind of hesitation you're feeling. It's like setting foot in a foreign land.
Then, you hear the front door opening. It's like something clicks inside of your mind, prompting you to move.
"Shit!" you whisper, ducking under Eddie's arm just as your mom appears in the kitchen.
You look guilty, you know that. Maybe even slightly disheveled, to be honest. And Eddie is not helping your case standing there scratching the back of his head while your mother eyes you both suspiciously.
"Did I miss something?" she asks, trying for nonchalance but missing it by far. You can all but hear the excitement behind her words.
You have no idea, mom.

YOU FIDDLED WITH THE ENDS OF YOUR DRESS as you were sitting outside the office door, Toji was in a meeting with the other members discussing your father. You didn't want to be a burden than you already were, so you didn't understand the sudden meeting to discuss your father. Perhaps it was the fact that another yakuza got a hold of your father. Maybe your father owed them money also. It wouldn't shock you. You just felt a knot twist inside your stomach due to the fact that you wondered what exactly was your dad doing with this money? He no longer was providing funds for your life so why was he asking people in the yakuza for money.
Your head leaned back to be met with the wall, your eyes closing as you let your breath go back to normal. You found yourself holding your breath in to avoid having a panic attack or freaking out. A perfect day of shopping turned shitty because of your father's crimes. As the door was pushed open, you saw the men exit one by one and last was Toji. He stared at you, "I'm off to this meeting, please don't leave the house." Toji said to you.
"Wait, what about my father?" You asked as you followed behind him.
"I'll be sure to bring him up at the meeting to see if any of the other yakuza branches have him. But, if another yakuza have him he must owe them money also." Toji explained as you walked by his side. "Which means if they can't get the money out of him, they're coming for you next. We don't even know if that small conversation you had with him could have helped whoever has him track you," Toji explained as he let out a sigh.
His dark-colored eyes staring down at you. "Just don't leave the house. I'm leaving Gojo and Geto here with you and Megumi okay?" He says staring at you.
"Okay." You simply said as you watch him walk by you with Nanami and some other men and sooner leave the house.
You would let out a sigh before your feet were guiding you to the living room after hearing the bickering between Geto and Gojo. When you walked into the living room, Geto was holding Megumi and trying to move away from Gojo. "He likes me better so please let us be." He said as he finally plopped down on the couch.
"He likes me better, do I need to remind you I was the one-"
"Who transported his mother to the hospital so she could have him. You don't let us fucking forget." Geto uttered as his large hands covered Megumi's tiny ears muffling him out from hearing him cuss as if Megumi could even understand him.
You let out a chuckle at the sight as you finally joined them in the living room. When Megumi saw you, his little arms reached out for you. "Well, looks like he likes her better than both of us." Gojo pointed out as he sat down flipping through the channels on the flat screen tv that was mounted on the wall.
"That's only because she has boobs." Geto kissed his teeth playfully rolling his eyes at you as you collected Megumi from his arms.
You held Megumi close to your chest as you were rocking him. His head instantly lay on your chest before Geto pointed at you and laughed. "I told you," he said before his eyes went to texting on his phone.
"Megumi's mom, what happened to her?" You questioned as you wiggled your way in between the two men on the couch. They instantly grew quiet before Gojo cleared his throat to talk.
"She passed away giving birth to the little guy in your arms," He answered. "But don't tell Toji, we told you. He doesn't really talk about it like that," Gojo explained.
"We? I didn't tell her. You did." Geto pointed out, his finger pointing at Gojo who rolled his eyes. "No one ever brings it up," He soon adds. "It's kinda an unspoken rule to not bring it up. Toji told her she died and kept it at that, didn't he?" He asked.
You would only nod as you were holding Megumi. "Kept it short and changed the subject," You responded as you looked at the two guys.
"And let's change the subject now, I'm starving. Suguru, go out and get us food!" He whined as he grabbed the television remote to turn on the tv.
"No, we can't leave the house. Go eat something that's in the kitchen." Geto responded.
"There's nothing there, you know Toji always orders out or eats at some fancy restaurant," Gojo sighed.
Your eyebrows knitted together in confusion as you stood up. You held Megumi on your waist, feeling the little baby kicking his feet and babbling your ear off with the most adorable baby noises. You didn't even fully see the house you were currently living in. Other than your room and the living room, you should have given yourself a tour. When you entered the kitchen, you were completely breathless. It felt like one of those nicely built kitchens on those home improvement shows. The stainless steel fridge with a touch screen on it to the dual fuel stainless steel stove. However, it felt so empty. Like no one bothered to step inside it for months. You walked further into the kitchen instantly going to the fridge to open it. It wasn't much in the fridge other stuff that obviously was meant for Megumi. "When was the last time he's been grocery shopping?" You asked as your eyes looked at Megumi who would only let out another baby noise.
"As I said, he's always ordering out or going out to eat. He only gets stuff for Megumi." Gojo answered as he joined you in the kitchen. He hutches over the kitchen island that was in the center of the kitchen.
"Let's go grocery shopping." You said as you looked at him. "I can't be living here and not have food in the fridge," You said.
"He specifically told us to not leave the house," Geto said as he entered the kitchen. "What's not clicking in both of your heads?" He asked as he tapped at his own head.
"He won't know we left the house unless you guys tell," You explained. "Megumi and I will be keeping our mouths shut," You add.
Gojo face lit up in excitement as he would look at you. "I'll get my car keys, you grab Megumi's jacket and car seat."
"Got it!" You simply said as you would leave the kitchen. You stopped at Geto who was pinching at the bridge of his nose in annoyance. "Are you coming with us?" You asked.
"I don't really have a choice, just give me Megumi and go get his stuff," Geto says as he extended his arms to hold Megumi.
You gave him a smile and Megumi before skipping out of the kitchen to not only change into something more comfortable other than the dress you had on, but also Megumi's stuff. You had grabbed his jacket, diaper bag, and car seat. When you came back downstairs, the trio was waiting for you. You stepped into the living room with the things you needed, handing Megumi's jacket to Geto to put on him. As you walked towards the door, you grabbed the spare key out of the jar near the door and the three of you left.
"If he gets upset, I will take the blame." You said out loud as you walked towards Gojo's car.
"No, we can't have that," Geto said. "We'll take the blame." He said.
"No, it was my idea. I'll take the blame. Plus, as I said; I can't live in a home with no food and not be able to cook home cook meals," You said as you watched Geto securely put Megumi in the backseat of Gojo's car.
The car ride to the nearest grocery store was short and subtle. You knew Toji was a busy man, but you didn't understand why it seemed like the kitchen has been untouched for months. It made you question, just how did he cope with the loss of Megumi's mom. When you three entered the grocery store, Geto was pushing around the cart while Gojo was holding a curious Megumi who was taking in his newer surroundings. You would begin to put fruits and vegetables in the cart, glancing down at your iPhone at the little list you made on your way here.
"How long have you two worked with Toji?" You asked as you leaned over looking at the different variations of meat before eventually choosing different ones.
"For a while. It's a couple of us that's been working with him and just worked our way up," Geto answered as he was pushing the cart.
"I can tell. He seems to put all his trust into you guys." You answered. "Especially considering he's much older than you guys," You responded.
"I guess, you could say that. He gave us a chance." Geto answered. "We all started somewhere and Toji was there to give us a chance," He explained.
You two walked side by side down the aisle where baby food was at. You went to go place some baby food in the cart, but Geto stopped you. You noticed that his arm brushed against yours as he's grabbing a different one. "Megumi hates that one," he commented at the one that was in your hand.
Your lips formed a perfect 'o' shape before putting back what you had. You had picked up some baby snacks that Megumi would eat and placed them in the cart. "What do you mean about he gave you guys a chance?" You asked. Now it was your time to push the cart.
"Well, Gojo actually is next in line to run his family branch—" You interrupted Geto's words.
"Really?" You questioned in disbelief.
"Yes. His family has a lot of influence business-wise. His mother just doesn't think he's ready just yet, so here he is working for Toji who reports to his mother about his improvement and such." Geto answered.
You were taken back by this before you glanced around. You were so into talking with Geto, that you didn't even notice Gojo or Megumi was nowhere in your sight. You knew Megumi was safe with Gojo, but your heart still quickened at the sight that Megumi wasn't near you. "Where did he go with Megumi?"
Geto let out a sigh before he's grabbing the end of the cart and dragged it to another aisle. You weren't too far behind Geto who turned into the aisle filled with snacks and sweets. You could hear Megumi's joyful noises as Gojo was holding him as he was looking at different snacks. "Y/N, could you get me these?" He yelled loudly as ever.
"You're the gangsta here, I should be asking you to get the groceries for me." You responded as you walked towards him. He didn't even wait for your response before dropping it in the cart. "I think we have everything for now."
"Yeah, let's go. We need to get back home before Toji does," Geto reminded as he looked at his watch for the time.
"To check out we go!" Gojo exclaimed as he would pick up another thing and throw it in the cart.
When you were done grocery shopping, you made your way back to Toji's house. While Geto and Gojo grabbed the grocery bags, you grabbed Megumi's car seat and was carrying him to the house. You went through your purse searching for the key, but the front door tugged open with a quickness. The look from Toji was filled with relief, but you could tell he was upset.
"Before you get down their throats, just letting you know that it was my idea. I saw your fridge was pretty empty—" Your words were cut off quickly by Toji.
"I told you to stay here. This could have waited." Toji said as you followed him into the house. "What if somebody was waiting outside the gate for you three?" He asked. His eyes then went to Geto and Gojo who were avoiding even glancing in Toji's direction.
"And you two should know better than to let her influence your decision," Toji firmly stated as he's taking Megumi's car seat out of your head and walked away without another word.
You watched as he disappeared upstairs and you turned to look at the two men behind you with an apologetic look. "We'll put the stuff away and head out," Geto said. "Just give the man his space." He stared at you noticing the look of interest on your face. "You're about to go talk to him aren't you?"
"Yes." You said as you twirled around to follow behind Toji. "He can't stay mad at me forever," You added.
"We'll lock up before we leave. We won't see you until next week though," Gojo reminded.
"Next week? Where are you guys going?" You stopped in your tracks and turned back around to look between the two.
"It's a secret. We just have to handle some business for Toji," Geto answered. He noticed the look on your face before walking towards the kitchen with the groceries. "Do not pester us anymore about it." He said.
Your lips parted to interject, but nothing came out as you admitted to defeat. You turned around to climb the stairs to find Toji, and when you made it to the second level of the luxury home you could hear the sound of the bathtub running in one of the bathrooms. When you walked towards the bathroom, the door was slightly cracked.
The thing is, you were an extremely confident woman. You held your head up high in a workplace filled with snakes every night when you had to work. You let words of passion sting your tongue just to get extra money from the men who would gladly be your footstool. But here you were swooning over Toji's words as you were eavesdropping.
"Did you at least have fun with the three stooges tonight?" He cooed at Megumi.
Your heart softened at the sound of Megumi's faint laugh before you're eventually knocking on the door and coming into the bathroom. You saw Toji kneeled down in front of the bathtub with the little baby bathing seat in it while he was giving Megumi a bath. You joined Toji, kneeling next to the tub as Megumi was enjoying the bits of bubbles that were in the small baby tub.
"What if you guys got hurt?" Toji asked as he glanced over at you. You still could sense that he was upset by his body language and when your eyes met his, you could see the disappointment.
"I'm sorry," You said as leaned against the tub. Your eyes stared at Megumi who was kicking his little feet enjoying the small bits of water that were in the pastel-colored baby tub. "I noticed it wasn't any food in your fridge and then Gojo and Geto explained that you hardly use the kitchen."
Toji's eyes that once were looking at you closely quickly drifted away to continue the task of washing up Megumi. "I'm hardly home, so it's no point." He uttered before he was back washing Megumi.
"But I'm living here now," You pointed out.
On some evenings when you worked—the one thing about your apartment was that it felt like a home. You found yourself swinging around a shiny silver pole every night, but other than the number of yen bills you collected, you adored coming to the comfort of your own home. Even though Toji's mansion was huge enough to house not only house a couple of his men, it still didn't feel like home. Perhaps, it did before the despairing death of Megumi's mom.
"And?" Toji questioned as he would glance over at you.
It took you a while to notice that he was staring past you at the baby towel behind you which you grabbed to give to him. "I can't live in a home that doesn't feel like home." You shrugged your shoulders carelessly. "As corny as it sound, but I like to cook warm meals on my nights off  and just enjoy the space I live in. I don't know, I guess you can say that my old place was like my comfort zone. I forget all about my occupation when I'm home."
"I want to be able to do that here considering the tasks you'll be giving me and the fact that my father could be held hostage by someone dangerous." You sighed. "But I'm sorry, I should have came to you first. I could have gotten Megumi hurt and that's something I do not want to do."
You watched as Toji's lips parted to speak, but he soon closed them before collecting Megumi from the baby bathtub and leaving the bathroom. You stood up off your knees to follow behind him. "It's okay," Toji said as he waltz into Megumi's room.
For some reason, you felt like it wasn't okay. You sense that he was building up a wall around himself. "Why do I feel like it's not?"
You watched as he gently placed Megumi down on the changing table. You never noticed that Toji did everything pertaining to Megumi in such a routine manner. Despite running one of the largest crime organizations, he still remembered the routine of bathing and dressing his son. From using a specific lotion for Megumi's skin to only putting him in a cute grey-colored onesie just in case the little guy got hot. He was a wonderful father even though his duties as the head of a yakuza was slowly tugging him away.
"Nevermind, let's just leave it at that. I'm going to go shower," You sighed as you walked out the room.
Toji didn't say anything. Megumi's room grew quiet with only the sound of Megumi's babbles bouncing off the walls. You were forced to walk towards your room with your own thoughts, most of them involving the man you were in debt to. Toji Fushiguro.
You spent two hours in your room buying attire for work. You had showered and changed into a black and white-colored silk pajama set. Even when the hot water clashed against your smooth skin, you still couldn't stop thinking about Toji. Behind your closed door, you could hear shuffling back and forth, assuming he was on his way to bed but Megumi woke up. You clicked on the television that was mounted on the wall, thinking your favorite guilty pleasure reality tv show would ease your mind. Which it was a poor attempt to not think about Toji until you could hear your stomach growl in hunger.
You looked at the time on your phone, you didn't even notice how late it got after taking your shower and taking comfort in your room. Toji and Megumi were probably sleeping. If you wanted to make a safe trip to the kitchen—you would have to be quiet as ever. Swinging your legs over the edge of the queen-sized bed and sliding your feet into the soft pastel purple slippers. You opened your door slowly before making your way down the hall, being sure to tip toe as light as a feather to prevent any unnecessary noise.
When you finally made it downstairs, you walked into the kitchen and nearly jumped seeing Toji's big stature sitting on one of the stools that were aligned to the miniature bar top connected to the kitchen island. Chopsticks in hand as he was eating a bowl of Ramen. A pack of ramen you had just brought from the grocery store earlier. Your stomach screamed for you to eat something before you're going to the fridge to grab a bottle of water and you reached in the cabinets to the best of your ability to grab a granola bar. You still could feel some form of tension between yourself and Toji and you decided to just give him his space.
"I don't want to get attached to you, you know?"
You turned around slowly to look at him. Your back is pressed against the counter before you're walking toward him. You hopped on the counter near him waiting for him to say more considering the words he just said left you speechless. Tearing the wrapper of the granola bar open and taking a bite from it. You couldn't figure out if the knots forming in your stomach were due to hunger or you being nervous. The lingering thought of Gojo and Geto talking about his past wife ran in your mind like a professional track star.
"I already have the horrendous thought of possibly leaving Megumi in this world without both his mother and father in my mind constantly. I don't think I can handle leaving you alone too." He admitted.
Your throat went dry. Your mind went blank. Your words were trapped in your throat. "Then we shouldn't get attached to each other. After all, I'm just paying off my debt." You said.
You watched as Toji's expression changed before he's letting a rough chuckle escape his mouth. He's sliding the bowl of ramen towards you, "Then you eat up because you have another task tomorrow." He took the granola out of your hand and took a bite of it and stood up off the stool.
As you grabbed the chopsticks, your eyes watched Toji walk towards the exit of the kitchen. You couldn't help but let your eyes linger on his broad shoulders. Or the way his pecs were nicely noticeable in the white wife-beater he had on. Your teeth bit at your lip watching it, now regretting the words you told him two minutes away. How could you not get attached to the Toji Fushiguro? He was rich, an amazing father, caring, the way he looked at you, and you could go on (without mentioning the rich & nice body part more than once).
Your devious thoughts were interrupted when Toji turned around to look at you. The granola bar that once was in your hand in between his teeth as he let his fingers glide through his hair. Even such a small task like this caused his muscles to pulse. He swallowed the bite of the granola bar he took and begin to speak.
"Because I need you to seduce my cousin for me."

Fuck it, my personal HCs is that Taylor started wearing braces bc his canines were ungodly long and pointed outwards by influence of his demon part (aka, they stuck out even when his mouth was closed). It was a decision his mom made (he always thought it looked sick and did not want to get it fixed) bc it was starting to mess with his other teeth/bite and interfere with his speech as he grew. They're almost normal now, just really pointy.
And the chain elastics he put are always color coded with anime characters' color pallets. Even if it's "just yellow and blue", he always does it intentionally, and it's a different character every time.

What an incredibly frustrating piece of fiction this is shaping up to be.
Where do I even start.
OK, on the one hand, the needlessly esoteric and vibey storytelling is kind of a plus. That's not a thing many anime do anymore and I kind of miss it as someone who was first exposed to the medium in part by very high-concept sci-fi anime. Also the action is great; any time a fight happened I was at least consistently having a good time, the choreography and animation are really good and I absolutely love the combat theme and find it weird how rarely they use it. In general I love how the show looks and it will remain watching for its visuals alone even if nothing else comes together.
Which is good, because everything else is a huge mess at this point. Add it to the list of anime I regret giving the benefit of a doubt.
Everything Metallic Rouge does or tries to do is held back by the fact that Rouge Redstar herself has the morality of a gradeschooler. In the early episodes, this was kind of cute and it seemed like the show would be in large part about her shedding that idealism to become....I don't know, pick one; a hero to the Neans? Some kind of cosmic avenger bound to neither side in this conflict? At least someone who has SOME kind of convictions beyond "I hate fighting!" ?
Code Eve is here revealed to be the work of Rouge's mom(?), a biophysicist, and assistant to her surrogate father, named Dr. Eva Kristella. She is the one who installed the Asimov Code in Neans in the first place, which means that in this universe, all of the oppression that the already-wonky analogue for minorities face was the work of a single person. If you disregard any stab at symbolism here, this is a fine plot twist *in a vacuum*, but when put back in the context of the show it completely defangs anything Metallic Rouge has done or seemed like it wanted to do with this material. Systemic oppression happened because Dr. Kristella did an oopsie and ended up regretting it. That regret was what caused her to make Code Eve, which can somehow disable the Asimov Code, but she didn't activate it herself (maybe she couldn't? This isn't elaborated upon) and instead planted it within the "soul" of Rouge and the other Immortals.
It's kind of impressive how thoroughly that strips out any applicability. There is no way to read anything as subtext anymore, because this is purely a genre thing and has no connection to anything real. Any bite this series might've had is gone.
But OK, fine, let's ignore that and just take it as a weird sci fi thing. Surely at least Rouge recognizes that the Neans are being oppressed to shit is a bad thing and joins the resistance, right? Especially now that Naomi has betrayed her (a plot twist that comes out of fucking nowhere btw) and revealed her true colors? Nope! A decent chunk of episode 8 is taken up by mealy-mouthed moralizing more or less dismissing the Neans' situation because, well, The Immortals Are Violent, so it's impossible to say if they're justified or not. Gene, Rouge's brother, says something to the effect of this not being "the right time" to liberate the Neans and that the inevitable violence of a revolution would only make things worse for them. I'm not crazy for reading this as complete fucking lib shit (a term I don't use lightly), am I? The show seems dead-set on playing Rouge's naivete as something admirable instead of something deeply offputting and inappropriate to the situations she finds herself in.
Like, I'm being A LITTLE uncharitable but honestly not particularly so? I'm mostly just confused, like, what even is the point of any of this? A thing I suppose I had conveniently forgotten about some of those sci-fi shows I mentioned in the opening paragraph is that they're occasionally not actually about much. Sure, the GOOD ones are, but there are plenty that have been mostly forgotten because they don't use the genre to do anything or say anything of note. Metallic Rouge's mix of aesthetics is still interesting---all of the Immortals look really cool, for example---but I would be VERY surprised at this point if the series pulled anything coherent together in its last four episodes.
Then again, who knows, I thought I had this show figured out once before and then episode 5 happened, so honestly who can say. Maybe it WILL find some way to justify its milquetoast politics and Toynbee Tiles-ass worldbuilding in a way that's actually coherent and interesting. I really doubt it, though.
The worst part is that through all of this I STILL don't actually think the show is outright bad. It has enough going for it that I'm going to watch the remaining third of the series and I will probably not completely hate those 2ish hours of remaining story, but it has JUST enough going on that the ways in which its deficient are hugely frustrating instead of being the kind of minor flaw that it's easy to brush off.
At this point my favorite character is probably Cyan, who shows up barely-foreshadowed in these episodes to try to kill Rouge for no obvious reason, but she has a fun design and a clear motive, so that makes her easy to root for, in my book.

Terry Jr. Stephens has always been a worrier, as his mom used to say. He can't help but think of the things he has no control over, and it freaks him out to no end. Terry likes having control, over his life, his thoughts, his choices. He likes it when things are the way they should be, weather that be that the books on his shelf be color coded, or that the front door’s lock is turned four times consecutively. It's how it should be, if it isn't that way then nothing is right and Terry has no control. Everything will spiral into disaster and burn and crash. Fire and Flames, the world ends. Terry hates it when he gets too overwhelmed by his thoughts and predictions, the things that he can't do anything about but hyperventilate and cry.
His mom is always patient with him, walks him through the thoughts he's thinking. His dad too, they're kind and good people. Terry loves his parents, he has a good life even though he struggles. At least he isn't alone, and he's got people to help him with these issues.
But, the day Terry Jr.’s world felt like it ended, was when he was 9 years old.
--------
hiiii i posted the first chapter of my long no realms au kiddads centered fic, Don't Look Now!!!
the first chapter is centered around Terry Jr. and the stampler-marlowe family, ive posted some small snippets of this chapter on my blog before so heres the finished product of all the terry jr related stuff lol

elumax headcanons pLease <3
elumax my beloved
el has a hard time understanding a lot of movies because of all the references to thing she doesn't understand, so when the three have movie night, they turn it into a lesson where they basically explain different parts of life she hasn't been able to experience yet.
this has caused them to make a bucket list with things to do with el; such as go to theme parks or take her to a museum.
after getting a bit of a better understanding of movies, the group usually settles for horror. max likes them the most, whereas lucas hates them but pretends he likes them to seem cool, and el enjoys them because they're easy to understand.
max often talks about how she misses california, and lucas once made her a promise that he'd take them on a roadtrip there once he gets his license. he loves traveling and seeing new places, and el is excited to see more than just hawkins.
after el comes back to hawkins, she tells max that california wasn't nearly as fun without her there. max tells her that they'll just have to replace her bad memories with better ones and lucas subtlety chimes in that he has his license.
max spends a couple of months in a wheelchair as her arms and legs heal. el and lucas worry that she feels left out and do their absolute best to make sure she's still having fun. lucas thought fun meant going on walks with her in parks where she can smell all the flowers and hear what's going on around her — el though fun meant riding down the largest hill in the park. max liked the second idea, lucas did not.
joyce taught el how to sew while they lived in california, and she actually became very good at it. so when max mentioned that she hated how boring her wheelchair must look, el offered to sew some designs into it. it eventually lead to a group family project, with erica and will coming up with designs that fit max, lucas getting all the sewing supplies, and jonathan helping el with the actual sewing. by the end of it, max has a couple rainbows on the sides below her armrests, mad max spelled out on the back in her favorite colors, and jonathan even made some little skulls in construction class that they were able to attach to the middle of her wheels.
with max being blind, lucas and el decide to come up with alternative date night ideas so that she doesn't feel leftout when they watch movies. they eventually agree on reading to max before bed during their sleepovers. el reads while lucas helps to correct her on words she doesn't understand, all while max enjoys listening to the two before falling asleep.
with joyce's expertise from finding jobs, she's able to find a braille reading class. she signs el and max up for it, and lucas' parents cover his classes. already having experience with learning things like morse code, lucas catches on pretty easily, along with max who has always been a fast learner. el struggles a bit, but tries her best in order to support her girlfriend.
joyce and max's mom actually become good friends, as joyce knows what it's like to struggle with money and lost. the two family's eventually start having dinner together once a week, and joyce always allows max over.
hopper off-handly mentions how much he prefers max and lucas to mike, making both el and will blush for separate reasons.
still, hopper is sure to give lucas a stern talking to about how to treat girls, and erica doesn't hold back when threatening max and el to never hurt her brother.
when max is able to start walking again, el and lucas are always there to help her. she finds it a bit overwhelming at first, and the three are able to establish boundaries about what she does or doesn't want help with.
lucas helps her find the best walking cane, and is even able to add a device that beeps when in contact with certain materials so she can navigate easier when alone.
when max decides she's finally ready to start relearning how to skate, the three of them go down to an abandoned parking lot so she doesn't have to worry about being judged. el even brings her rollerskates and borrows a pair from will so lucas can try too. max struggles through a lot of it, but el is there to catch her and lucas helps in reminding her that they have all the time in the world to practice.
when max was still recovering, she listened to lucas' games on the radio and talked back and forth with dustin on the walkie talkies to see how it was going.
once when el was away and especially homesick, she used her powers to watch lucas during his game. she worried she was breaking their boundaries, however, and didn't do it again despite how badly she wanted to watch his games.
knowing that max is more lenient about her using her powers, el would check on her in the hospital and at night sometimes just to make sure she was okay.
el is always cold at night, whereas max and lucas get too hot with a blanket on, so el just sleeps between them for body heat. occasionally she'll use a weighted blanket and have the others sleep onto of it next to her.

How do you feel about people headcanon-erasing the part in the beginning that describes you having your father's hair and your mother's skin? as a biracial person who is specifically black, I found it difficult to match the disparate hair/skin colors, even when I tried to race-swap my own parents (I like a self-insert baseline for my first MC) I'm not far in, though, so I understand it could be important, and I'd hate to be disrespectful in any case!
you are welcome to headcanon whatever you'd like, my dear 💙
genetics are a tricky thing. some people heavily favor one parent over the other, some end up looking like an even mix of the two, and some end up with traits from neither parent (my sister and I both have blue eyes, for example, despite having no blue-eyed relatives for a few generations back on either side). it can be hard to implement in a medium like interactive fiction
from a coding perspective, A) I wanted Speaker and Seer to mirror each other, and B) I wanted to make it so their parents weren't just some amorphous unseen entity. their presence is still felt in the story, even while they're not there
Mom and Dad will be showing up in later books, and I wanted the twins to have some visible connection to both parents while also having something unique to the two of them. it made since for their eyes to be the thing that was different, considering the role that visions play and the way Speaker and Seer have an approach to them unlike anyone else in their family.
so it may be a little jarring for you in book 2 or 3 when Mom and Dad show up and their appearance differs from the way you've been imagining them, but there's nothing saying you can't ignore those descriptor words entirely and see them the way you want to 😁
I love headcanons and encourage them*. I'm just building the sandbox, you get to decide how you play in it
*as long as no one is using headcanons to erase a character's identity

Alright. So what would you do if CRWBY (RT) contacted you and asked you to help incorporate Whiterose into canon? Would you do it? If so, how, and if not, I’d still want to know how.
I'm sure most of us would like to. I don't know if I'd be the best person for the job, or what not, but I think at this point you'd have to play for the long game and aim for like last volume.
I think the general groundwork for a relationship, especially with V6 is there but needs built on. Ruby and Weiss have pink petals only when together and the color pink used as petals is used by Ren's new semblance when he detects love.
There's tons of symbolism and pictures/promo material of WR being very important with each other. I don't see Weiss with a shield in the promo material nor do I see her thirsting over Jaune in the spin off stuff or Ruby looking at Oscar or any symbols that represent him. Manga anthologies, the movie crossover, IQD are all supremely WR coded.
They need to talk and be partners again. They need to have conversations and set things right between them. Weiss needs to come clean about why she was taking Ruby for granted, and Ruby needs to apologize for not talking to her about things, and they need to have a real partnership going forward.
V10 (they said 12/13 was their planned end point at one time so we'll go based on that) would be about this in the background with the war against Salem likely taking center stage as well as the fallout of Atlas.
I'd like to see more Ruby still falling into bad habits (unlearning them IS hard) but her team, and Weiss in particular helping her plan and taking the work off her shoulders and helping to divide it up. Even if they don't want WR endgame this is something that needs to happen because they're supposed to be best friends.
Blake and Yang as much as people might hate it need to take a slight step back. I'm happy for them but they're too wrapped up in each other to the point that they're the others world to the detriment of everyone else.
More interactions with other partners. Yang and Weiss and Blake and Ruby need to interact a bit more.
Blake and Yang can talk to the others and in time start drop hints about things but mostly as teases for now.
Once Salem finds out Cinder lied to her...a lot I would expect her to have a less than pleasant time and probably not be doing much outside of not dying. We might get the start of a 'we found the summer maiden' plot here.
V11 I would focus on the relic of destruction. I'd probably have this be the volume Tyrian dies likely as the villain of the volume in a battle for the relic. Seeing as they wanted 9/10 to start turning around you need to give the team some wins. So either they win and get the relic or they kill tyrian but still lose the relic. Depending on how they run with Theodore he could live or die securing the relic.
Based on how little of a chance Team RWBY seem to have against someone like Cinder they need to upgrade their semblances or one of them is probably gonna have to end up a maiden at some point. If they go that route then Raven actually dying to give her powers to Yang is possible but we need more from and about Raven before I'll buy that she'd do something like that. Unless of course she somehow gets ambushed and is dying then she might think of Yang. If this does happen i imagine we'll get more of that flashback from earlier.
Good chance for Ruby and Blake to comfort her if that does happen because well if Yang does end up with them then I mean it's clear what happened and her mom is dead. I imagine Qrow wouldn't take it well either but he has Robyn so she'll prob be helping him a bit.
WR would start incorporating little touches like they used to. Shoulder grabs, little quick hand squeezes and hugs that go on just a second too long and more playful banter in and out of battle.
They should still be serious when it calls for it but not have an issue just hanging out in the limited downtime they do have. Others should notice they seem to be happier now and have WR not understand what they mean.
V12 would likely be the start of Ozpin/Ozma opening up with some more deep lore and hopefully someone calls him on the whole 'jinn only said you can't kill her' angle. Probably not.
From here it really depends on how they plan to resolve Salem. Is it gonna be a hail mary we're united and have the relics fix it gods thing or not.
If it's not then I'd like to see them ape the gods and use that to 'kill' salem for good. Ie Ruby's eyes represent the light and Weiss and her grimm summons the dark. Working together and in concert to kill her just like the gods combo powers cursed her. If you want it to be a more team thing then Yang and Blake can represent light and dark too. Jaune can amp up their auras to an extreme level for this to work. Whether this kills him or his ultimate fate is irrelevant.
Ruby would be a bit more mature after Ever After and talking with her friends and Weiss would start taking notice because as Kara said 'Weiss like maturity'
If you wanted a twist for after this then have the gods show up and be pissed that rwby undid their work. 'who are you to undo what we gods have done etc?
From here they can drop the knowledge bombs that they're no better than runaway kids who left and what not.
The gods can then either bring back salem again proving that they're massive hypocrites since they told salem earlier she didn't understand the value of life and death and cause the gods to want to wipe out humanity and faunus.
At this point I'd expect the blacksmith/tree to basically be like 'no you're done' and drag them back.
If they don't bring salem back they could be like 'well humanity has come together so you know what good enough stay that way or else.
Then you'd have a few after it's all over episodes.
Now that the war is over they're focused on rebuilding. Weiss is busy helping Whitley and Willow and Winter (if she's alive) rebuild the SDC.
Ruby appears and asks her to take a break for dinner. Weiss is going to refuse until Willow tells her they'll manage and shoos her out the door.
Weiss asks where they're going to meet Blake/Yang, and Ruby says 'oh i was kinda thinking...it could just be us two.' Weiss could say something with a small blush and be like 'I'd like that' and it could cut to the other couples then credits.
Admittedly part of me would find it hilarious if Weiss gets fed up with waiting and just grabs Ruby and smooches her mid final battle.
Or the safer route just have a scene set after the war 5/10 years and casually let it be dropped they married in that time to avoid having to do anything.
Personally if I was doing RWBY from the start I'd make the WF bigger antagonist along with Jacques and probably cut out the whole brother gods/salem deal. Maybe even magic and maidens. I think that could be a lot of fun and as attractive as mommy salami is I don't care much for her in the story. Great VA though who really nails the voice I'd imagine for Salem.
I'd probably also keep them in school for another year and have more inter-team friendships. Like Blake , Velvet, Ruby, and Ren having a book club, or Ren and Weiss bonding over having super high energy partners.
Yang and Pyrrha work out buddies. Ruby and Jaune playing games with Nora probably joining it.
That sort of thing.
Of course if I was writing RWBY I'd find a way to have Maria hold WR hands so you know.
I hope I understood the question and if not I apologize.

DG seems like a nice friends but a murderer
So.. okay what if we tell Damon for advice his pal DG to stop killing and kidnapping people? Would that likely happen?
Let’s say MC’s character is like Charlie / Steven Universe or a goody two shoes characters that just… wants everything to be better?
[Now, you are pitching this in a way that MC is aware of Damon and DG's murderous ways. This is a major plot thing and it's something the boys hide for obvious reasons. Another thing is this "MC's character is like Charlie / Steven Universe or a goody two shoes character" well...Not saying such a character can't exist in the Broken Colors world, but Hueväri (the race of the people in that world) aren't very stable mentally and even decent Hueväri are usually not without their own troubles.]
The characters who live in the universe of Br<3ken Colors are called Hueväri/ Huevari [pronounced hyoo-vari], a species whose physical attributes can be compared with stickfigures. Over time it became more common to see them with different head shapes and body types too. They're also known to have special powers or abilities and those who don't have any are sometimes looked down upon. Their eyes, tongues and private parts share the same color (any color is possible).
Hueväri tend to have fragile minds, which can result in them becoming quickly unstable and dangerous if left untreated. But that depends on each individual, some are better at handling their urges and emotions than others. This may also indicate that they descended from an originally more aggressive species. Even the most kindhearted person can commit horrific crimes overnight but not everyone will admit it or is aware of it.
The police department recommends not to walk alone at night and to be home at a reasonable time - an advice that is often laughed at by several gangs in the city, who have become more violent recently.
[So MC learning that they kill is something that is important as one, DG doesn't trust so easily and can view MC "knowing too much" as a reason to get rid of the to ensure he, his mom, and Damon are safe. Two, while we could get Damon more on our side as long as we aren't treating him like shit, we can't make him stop killing completely as his predatory hunting nature is coded in his genes and DG, who enjoys the suffering of others, isn't going to help you in stoping his partner in crime from committing slaughter. And three...Both Damon and DG eat the meat of their victims, DG likely doing so for shits and giggles, so no amount of puppy eyes is going to sway them when you are trying to change them so much.]

If I were to reboot Meet the Robinsons, this would be Lewis.
Tumblr media
You saw the title of this post. If I were to redesign and reboot Meet the Robinsons, then this would be Lewis. It includes an altered narrative. Here's the obligatory bio section:
Full Name: Lewis Cornelius Robinson Age: 16 Height: 5' 7" Birthday: April 17th
Notable Traits - Always carries a backpack with everything he needs (sunglasses, headphones, hand sanitizer, etc.) - Speaks very directly and to the point - Smartypants - Clean freak/germaphobe - Special interest in science and inventing (duh) - Loves "ugly" animals - like frogs, toads, rats, spiders, snakes, and lizards - Fidgets (he calls them "Wiggles") - Professional info dumper - Pansexual and Polyamorous - Gets frustrated easily
Bio Born to a single mother, Lewis is an overall happy and good natured kid. Despite the fact that he's frequently bullied in school for... well a lot of things. They say things like, "Why are you so sensitive?", "Why do you dress that way?", or "Why is your hair like that?" But, mostly, they make fun of him for his inventions - which almost always fail. Lewis gets easily discouraged when his inventions fail, and the bystanders in his classes don't exactly help. Luckily his mother is always there to console him when things go wrong, and continues to supports his passions... because she knows that deep down it makes him really happy. Even though she's completely lost when Lewis explains how TVs are able to display colors.
Author's Notes Those who are aware might have picked up that this particular Lewis has heavy autistic coding. It's known in this universe that Lewis is autistic, and his mom is super supportive. I would go as far as to say that Lewis was probably diagnosed pretty young, so he knew his whole life that he was on the spectrum. Also, major change two: His birth mother never gave him up! I imagine she's a hard working single mom who does the best she can with what she has. She also checks up on her son in certain situations to make sure he's doing okay. So, in short: power mom energy. Lewis is part of the LGBT community here, too. This is because I pick up strong bi energy from Lewis in the original movie. Essentially, I don't think this Lewis particularly cares about someone's looks. As long as you're not a terrible person and you treat him like a person, Lewis might catch some feelings. He's definitely caught feelings for two of his friends - but he doesn't know if they're okay with polyamory. Why did I age him up slightly? I dunno. Honestly, I don't. Maybe it's because of the story? I don't know. Lastly, his other name. Cornelius. In this universe, maybe his middle name comes from one of his relatives. Like, maybe his grandpa's middle name is Cornelius. It's not uncommon for families to share names like that. My middle name is the same as my great grandma's, for example. Sorry to Lucille and Bud... but hey. Maybe they're doing just as good in this universe as they would be in the OG. Who knows?
If I feel like it I might do Wilbur next. We'll see.

Alright! Now that I've officially finished all my fic contributions for Zutara Week 2022!!! Here is a comprehensive list of all 7 <3
Day 1-Tradition: Breaking Tradition
To celebrate the Peace Summit, a dance is held the last evening of the week, and Katara has a specific dance partner in mind. Unfortunately, the universe seems to have other plans, sending a fresh new disaster to ruin her evening every year, but Katara is determined to make it happen.
Day 2-Familiar: The Punishment Doesn't Fit the Crime
Zuko was well aware that Katara would kill him for what he was about to do. He wouldn't blame her either. This was a truly heinous crime, but she should've thought about the consequences before she dumped Wasabi all over his favorite kind of fire flakes.
Katara had it coming and Zuko refused to feel sorry for her.
Day 3-Hands: Baby Steps
It's clear to Katara that Zuko has trouble interacting with children, but maybe a little visit to her brother's newborn baby will help him work through it.
Day 4-Meeting: Speaking Through the Sky
This is it," Katara whispered reverently, her words nearly being swept away with the arctic wind. She swallowed. "This was… This was my mom's favorite place in the whole South Pole."
Zuko didn't really get what was so special about this particular block of ice. Of course, he wasn't stupid enough to admit that. Even he knew that was the worst thing he could possibly say in this situation. He assumed the ice looked better in the light, when the sun struck it and it sparkled like the stars above, but Katara had pulled him out here in the bitter wind of a Southern Water Tribe winter night and he was sure she had a reason.
Day 5-Album: But I Miss Screaming and Fighting and Kissing in the Rain (inspired by my beloved big sis. @solborealis)
It's a stormy day when Katara decides she needs to leave the Fire Nation, knowing she can't handle concealing her feelings any longer. She has to get out of there as soon as she can, but what is she supposed to do when Zuko refuses to let her go?
Day 6-Closeness: I'm Sick of Your Shit, Zuzu
Azula is absolutely sick of seeing Zuko and Katara skirt around their feelings, so it's time for her to bring in the cavalry. They are settling this once and for all.
Day 7-Ink: Dearest Katara
Zuko spent forever crafting the perfect letter to give to Katara, telling her all of his complicated feelings, but what is he supposed to do now that it's ruined???
Please keep in mind that these aren't all created equally and some are definitely not as good as others, but I hope they're enjoyed all the same! They are also color-coded by POV for fun!
My personal favorite is Breaking Tradition as it's over SEVEN THOUSAND words and the most polished by far. It also the reason why the middle ones are not as... to my standards lmao.
A very happy (very late) @zutaraweek to you all!!! :)

Get to Know Me Tag tagged by @dribs-and-drabbles. ❤️ thank you for thinking of me.
Do you make your bed?
usually, no. i'm chaotic energy like that. my mom has attempted to make me since i was a child, but i prefer not to. i tend to stay in my bed most days anyway (sensory-wise, pretty comfortable). though, i live in the nothern part of europe, so we get colder nights than the rest. i live in the warmest section of my country, however. but still, for the regular italian, they will be freezing over here.
What's your favourite number? 13 or 11. i used to be on a football team (soccer for americans out there) as a left field defense, and i always tried to grab one of those numbers. something extremely satisfying of the psychological effect of the "bad luck" number on the offensive players faces when you constantly make it impossible to attack on your side. hell, i even had five players on me once because the football trainer on the opposite team saw the danger i was. it always brought me luck and others misfortune. with 11, is because it relates to my birthday (11.11, no joke, its my birthday date).
What is your job?
i don't have any, at the moment. but people wants me to do many things. apparently because i'm a "natural" in whatever fancies my interest. suggestions have been librarian, spokes-person for disability issues, professional writer, radio-speaker, professional football player, teacher, mathematician, graphic designer, artist, and more. take your pick, it probably has been suggested.
If you could go back to school, would you?
i would, yes. but not on university level. we've the option one below it with same results. i would pick subjects such as languages (general), maths, graphic design, marketing, leadership, psychology, sociology, politics, economics, coding, drawing, classic literature class, acting, maybe some law even.
Can you parallel park?
nope.
A job you had that would surprise people?
worked with kids a few times. also helped a friend out in high school to pass all her classes she struggled with. without payment on the latter. but i didn't mind, not the type to exploit people.
Do you think aliens are real?
most, likely yes. considering how vast and expansive space is, it would be more shocking if it wasn't. and our view of "life" is limited to our own scope. it's possible life exists but not under the circumstances we're used to believe it is.
Can you drive a manual car?
no.
What's your guilty pleasure?
reading fanfics, anything queer content (never do it or rarely with people irl around, though they're aware of my accounts. as i said earlier i be living the wild life). listening to artists i did as a kid (hannah montana specifically), anything too mature rated (grew up partly in catholic background since mom's family is mexican. shame for those things are common around those parts), and speaking my mind without filter. i'm a hot-head here, if you know me well. Tattoos?
none, never plan on getting any though. people always say my skin is unbelievable young-looking for my age. not about to take that privilege away.
Favorite color?
green and blue. they remind me of the norwegian forest (they've an unique color because of our position on earth). and blue, because it reminds me of the seas in mexico and its calming. unlike most colors. Favorite type of music?
too varied to place in a box (ask anyone). but currently, my male kpop music list is on repeat and has been for a few months.
Do you like puzzles?
i used to do them a lot when young but not much anymore. because my mind can't focus on it too long. i usually have to finish it in one go or i don't return to it.
Any phobias?
social phobia/anxiety. but i try to face it anyway, since i refuse to be blocked out of society for trauma that i'm not responsible for. rather want to live a happy one than miserable. already been on the worst possible end, not letting that chain me down.
Favorite childhood sport?
football, hiking, and swimming.
Do you talk to yourself?
i used to, a lot. but not much anymore. i can talk to my characters fluently without break in my head. i'm a writer after all, i've had enough experience to not need any mirror or loudly talk anymore. i can take up any character at will, and we will talk as we never left off.
which is why i sometimes blank out during conversations. because i'm in a conversation with character(s) and said person(s) irl lost my interest at some point or i simply can't focus on anything they're saying.
what movies do you adore?
i prefer movies that makes one question things like dune (dennis version), or like inception. true underrated gems that most of the public seems to be missing the point of. dune might be seem as mainstream but the author's point are flying over most people's heads.
Coffee or tea?
tea, always, without question. the only coffee i actually drink is moccha, and its more chocolate anyway. and i prefer a brand unique to mexico which is difficult to find. since its local.
First thing you wanted to be growing up?
prince, since i loved to watch the disney movies as a kid. always liked the idea of being a charmer and having the responsibility that came with it. also how the life of a prince never seemed to have a boring moment. of course, i was disappointed when i realized you could only be born into it lmao. casually tagging: @zeawesomebirdie @echoanimates @cedence @bastardcompany. and anyone else who wants to do it.
