"So I walked back to my room and collapsed on the bottom bunk, thinking that if people were rain, I was drizzle, and she was a hurricane."
~ John Green- Looking for Alaska
A soulful yet heartbreaking book, by John Green. An incredible read!
Book of the Week No.28 Looking for Alaska by John Green Rate: 9/10 Favorite Line: "The Buddha knew one thing science didn’t prove for millennia after his death: Entropy increases. Things fall apart." Review: John Green's 'Looking For Alaska' is his debut novel published in 2005 and the kickstart of his career on the creation of meaningful YA fiction. The story revolves around Miles Halter's love for people's last words and not hearing it from his favorite person, Alaska. I find this book heavy to ready, because there is a lot going on and feelings conveyed are all climactic towards down. Maybe it is because the book/storyline's essence is more on the sentimental side and that is why just like how the cover made you feel, it is dark with a matchstick light just caught off. I love the bonds of Miles, Chip and Alaska. Their friendships are realistic and I happened to be obsessed of being friends with them. There are some passages that I felt the tinglings of the butterflies in my stomach about how Miles looks to Alaska. I mean, it seems intentional from Green and it is just heart-wrenching to discover that Alaska is now dead. This certain instance and flow made this passage very powerful; "I felt the unfairness of it, the inarguable injustice of loving someone who might have loved you back but can't due to deadness." Well, I just think this book is very brilliant in a sense that simple words (last words) from famous people would drive down the flow of the story. The concept of incorporating "Great Perhaps" and "The Labyrinth of Suffering" ideas are so powerful for hook to have the reading of this book started. Overall, it was meaningful and has that stare-at-the-ceiling factor for a fiction to offer. #readinenglish #readinenglishbooks #lereminglês #vocabularioingles #vocabulary #english #ingles #bookpublishing #bookpublisher #editora #lookingforalaska #johngreen https://www.instagram.com/p/CjibdSALzEa/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
