TOG characters as Speak Now lyrics
Aelin - Don't you think I was too young to be messed with?
Rowan - There is nothing I do better than revenge
Sam - Something's gone terribly wrong, won't finish what you started
Lysandra - I'm on my guard for the rest of the world
Elide - who you are is not where you've been, You're still an innocent
Manon - Long live all the mountains we moved I had the time of my life fighting dragons with you
Nehemia - Oh darling, don't you ever grow up
Lorcan - You, with your words like knives And swords and weapons that you use against me
Fenrys - Since a twist of fate, when it all broke down And the story of us looks a lot like a tragedy now
Dorian - You say we'll never make my parents' mistakes
Chaol - So this is me swallowing my pride standing in front of you Saying I'm sorry for that night
Kaltain - But I never thought I'd live to see it break, It's getting dark and it's all too quiet And I can't trust anything now
Aedion - And I feel you forget me like I used to feel you breathe
Gavriel - And it was enchanting to meet you
Yrene - Left a small town, never looked back I was a flight risk, with a fear of fallin'
Nesryn - They keep watchful eyes on us So it's best that we move fast and keep quiet

One thing to note is that all romance is different, they go at different paces and I didn’t do this for trope reasons (although yes these characters have tropes) but moreso because it makes sense for some relationships to advance quickly physically, slower emotionally or quickly emotionally and slower physically or both. Just like at first you’ll have more interaction with one character over others because these character don’t cater to Crown, I don’t want to make them so buddy-buddy with them in a way that’s out of character atp in the story.
I guess I’m saying this because as I’m writing out the story line I keep berating myself for as I wanted the MC in the first few chapters to interact equally with all characters that mattered but I realized that just isn’t possible there without rewriting things and rewriting established character personalities and I’m much more of a “characters control the plot” writer instead of vice versa. Plus I think it’s a disservice to the reader to make every romance feel the same and have every interaction feel the same as if only the character names are swapped
anyway that’s my ramble for today 💜

King Lorcan Elliot Austen Ashfield of Gruiffethen Kingdom.
Lorcan is 26 years old and has taken the throne after tragically losing his father to a sickness that swept through the kingdom.
He has been training his entire life to take the throne as well as training with the knights of the kingdom to be the best swordsman and king. He wants to be a king that can protect his kingdom from threats and conflicts instead of the type of king that his father was, the passive scared type that wouldn’t step in to help those in need. He loved his father but he disliked that his father just stood back and didn’t do a lot.
Has his mother trying to whisper advice in his ear constantly, the nosy nancy that she is but he listens not to her advice just as much as his father didn’t listen for she does not have the best intentions for others in mind, she wishes to cause conflict because in her mind causing conflict makes kingdoms richer.
He is an older brother, having a younger sister named Evanna, the precious jewel of the Gruiffethen Kingdom. He wants the best for her and only wants to see her happy and refuses to shove her into a loveless marriage like their mother wishes to do for her. He will keep their mother in check so that his little sister might find true love.
The royalty of the Gruiffethen Kingdom pass down a power from the first to take the throne. Healing. If you are an inch from death, Lorcan & Evanna both can heal you to full health but of course there is the price of them becoming weak and sickly for a time, the length of how long they are weak and sickly like depends on how bad of a wound and how close to death that they healed someone from.
Lorcan has been noticing a lot of rebellion popping up in his kingdom as of late despite everyone being happy with him as King. He believes his mother is hiring people behind his back to sabotage him as King somehow. Perhaps she is trying to remove her son who won’t listen to her and instead seat her nephew, her brothers son, on the throne somehow for he listens to everything that she says but Lorcan can’t help but be bewildered at how idiotic the idea is given the royal line comes from the paternal side, not the maternal side. The only way his cousin could take the throne is through battle and his cousin’s battle skills is …. lacking. Things in Gruiffethen Kingdom do operate differently than other kingdoms at times but this is just a mess as a whole.
Lorcan would make a very good husband by the way, he’d be the very sweet and loving type to his spouse. his orientation is demi
wanted connections for Lorcan: loyal knight, his cousin ( if someone wrote the cousin i’d cry omg ), perhaps a betrothed or once betrothed but broken off, right hand man, commoner who he has hung out with in secret his whole life who now has to realize that friend is the king of the kingdom and not a commoner too & other possibilities/connections can be plotted.

@xsweetxhallelujah asked  “stay in bed and let me look after you.”
Dominika was starting to go stir crazy. A hit gone wrong and she was ashamed of that, but she was also incredibly shocked at the fact that she was still alive. The hit had also been an assassin, though one after her. Just not a very good one. Her first lesson had been to wait until your target was dead before walking away. And yet her last memory had been managing to stumble into a bar, holding her side together in the hopes that three stab wounds wouldn’t cause fatal blood loss. And then she had woken up in a hospital bed. Collapsed lung, blood loss. She couldn’t remember all the words they’d thrown around but her fiance was at least good enough at throwing around his own words. Enough that she got to recover at home.
Being at home was almost as bad though, everything going on around her and Dominika just trying not to look weak. He’d caught her after she struggled down the stairs and into the kitchen to make herself a cup of tea. “I’m fine.” Though the grimace on her face was enough to tell him that wasn’t true. “Just-- feel useless.” A step the wrong way had her gasping and holding her side tightly.

Head pounding, you groaned in pain, groggily blinking awake as you took in your surroundings. A warm fire roared from a hearth across the room, situated next to the chairs and couch that made up the seating area - Aelin asleep in one of the chairs, curled in an awkward position with her legs swung over the armrest so that she was facing you.
You registered that you were in a guest room of the Lochans’ castle, where you’d been staying during your meetings with Aedion, Lorcan, and Elide over barrier precautions. Memories flashed in your mind as you fell back weakly against the pillows - you recalled the sudden attack, raiders from the Frozen Wastes who had somehow crossed the mountains in an attempt to overtake Perranth.
Recalling the injury in your side from one of the raiders, you instinctively reached for the wounded area only to release another loud groan at the pain. In the corner of your vision, Aelin stirred, eyes widening as the two of you made eye contact. “You’re awake,” she cried, voice choking on the words. You smiled softly at her, your own voice scratching as you attempted to speak to her.
Aelin leapt from her chair as you sputtered out a cough, bringing a glass of water from the nightstand to your lips. Putting the glass back down, she stroked your hair softly, taking a seat on the edge of the bed. “How are you feeling?” You took a deep breath, still coming back to your senses. “I’m in pain, but-“
You were interrupted by Rowan opening the door, a tray with two plates of food in his hand as he noticed your wakened state, tension visibly dissipating from his shoulders as he did so. “Hi,” you whispered at him with a small smile. Rowan sat down the tray next to your water, rushing over to take your head in his hands, pressing a lingering kiss to your forehead. He maintained that stoic expression he usually did, but a torrent of emotions swam in his eyes, filled with concern.
Aelin reached up to take your hand in hers. “You were saying?” Refocusing your attention to her, you nodded. “I’m in some pain, but it’s manageable. I’m just trying to remember what happened.” A muscle ticked in Rowan’s jaw. Barely keeping a leash on his anger, he directed the question at you, “you don’t remember how you rushed into battle? How you jumped in front of a blade meant for another soldier?”
A flurry of guilt, grief, and other emotions overcame you as your lip wobbled under Rowan’s intense gaze. Aelin held up a hand, silencing him before he could lecture you further. “You were the kind, brave person that we know and love.” She glanced at Rowan pointedly before continuing, “we’ve been very worried. You were mostly unconscious for nearly a week.” Your eyes widened, jaw slack as you registered her words. A week? You must have been close to death’s door for an injury to take you out for so long.
You held back tears, looking at Aelin and then Rowan. “I’m sorry, I know that must have been scary for the two of you,” you whispered. Rowan’s eyes softened then, and he crouched down beside where you laid as he took your hand, pressing a kiss to it. “You have nothing to apologize for, love. Here, try to eat some of this food while it’s warm.”
He turned, picking up the tray as Aelin crawled into bed beside you, taking a plate for herself as Rowan sat on the other side of you, helping you eat the warm soup and bread. A knock on the door sounded before Aedion entered, “I just wanted to check and see how you’re do-“
Rowan cut him off with a growl, Aelin flashing her canines as their protective instincts took over. Aedion held up his hands in a placating position, giving you a playful smile as he retreated out of the room. “I’m glad you’re okay. They’ve been like this all week,” he teased with an eye roll as Rowan snarled once more in warning.
The door clicked shut, the three of you alone once more as Aelin finished her food, snuggling into your side as you put an arm around her and leaned your head on Rowan, eyes drooping once more now that you were sated with food. “Uh huh,” Rowan tsked, helping you sit up. “No falling asleep yet. You’ve been asleep for days, and need a proper bath. I’ll be back for you in a moment.”
You scoffed softly under your breath, turning to Aelin as he left the room. She smirked at you, flicking your nose. “He is right, you know. You do stink.” Leaning in to press a kiss below your ear, Aelin murmured against your neck, “but I’ll help you clean up.”

hi there, can you write something fluffy for fenrys??
Book Delivery
Fenrys x reader
A/n: I haven't written for Fen in so long and he's literally one of my favs from ToG. He deserves happiness after everything he's been through
Warnings: none
Tumblr media
Fenrys watched from the balcony as Aelin walked you through the castle gates. He lets out a dreamy sigh as you throw your head back from laughing at something the queen said. Fenrys was so lost in his little fantasy land he missed Rowan come to stand next to him.
“You feeling ok?” Fenrys jumps, backing away from the railing and clutching at his heart. “Good gods! Don’t do that Rowan!” The king couldn’t help the shit eating grin that spread across his lips. Rowan looks out at your retreating figure as you leisurely walk back to town. “Aelin thinks you two would make a great match.”
Fenrys lets out an annoyed huff, taking his piercing gaze off of Rowan and watching you again. He was always so charming and smooth when it came to talking to females. For some reason when he tried speaking to you Fenrys always made a fool of himself. He either tripped over air or fumbled with his words before excusing himself. There was no other way to say it, Fenrys is in love with you.
How could he not be? You’re so kind and intelligent and beautiful. Fenrys can’t help but feel butterflies in his stomach when you’re around.
A week later - on the day you usually visit, Fenrys noted - Aelin called him into her office. Striding through the open door Fenrys stopped before her desk, sketching a bow before standing with his hands behind his back. “What can I do for you?” Aelin gave him a smile that told Fenrys she was scheming. Fenrys mentally rolled his eyes, waiting for Aelin to tell her plan.
“I need you to do me a favor.” She said sweetly. “Nothing crazy, just an errand that I can’t get to today.” Fenrys nodded. “What kind of errand?” The queen’s smile became toothy and far too happy looking for his liking. “Can you go to y/n’s store for me and pick up the book she set aside for me?”
Fenrys felt his heart stutter in his chest. He had never been to your store. He had avoided it at all costs after the second time he made a fool of himself in front of you. “Erm…” He had to answer quickly before Aelin turned this into a command and he no choice. Not like he had one anyway. If Aelin already thought you two were a match the whole court must know by now. And Fenrys would never hear the end of it from Lysandra if he never made a move.
“Yes.” He blurts out. “Excellent.” Aelin claps her hands in approval and stands to guide Fenrys from her office. “And no rush whatsoever. Take your time, enjoy a stroll through the city. Get some tea with someone. But don’t come back here without my book.” She said sternly before shutting the door on him.
Upon entering the bustling city Fenrys found himself taking the long way to your shop. Inevitably he found himself standing outside your shop, dreading how he would mess up this conversation with you. Inhaling deeply through his nose and out through his mouth, Fenrys pushed open the door to your shop.
The bell ringing above his head caught your attention immediately. You rushed to the front of the store, your arms full of books. Your eyes widen in surprise at the tall male in the middle of your small book store. “Hi,” you say cheerily, “Fenrys, right?” It took all of his training to keep calm. To keep the butterflies from swarming his insides.
“Y-yes. Yup, that’s me.” Dear gods he hoped Lorcan would show up and stab him.
Then you did something unexpected. You giggled at him. It wasn’t a pity laugh, you genuinely giggled. Fenrys smiled at you. Realizing you looked like you were about to drop the stack of books in your arms Fenrys cleared the space between you, reaching his hands out to help. “Can I take these for you?” “Oh, yes. That would be great, thank you.”
As you handed over half the stack Fenrys noticed your hands were shaking. If it was because of him he wouldn’t be able to live with himself. The last thing he wanted to do was scare you. You cleared your throat before speaking again. “Can you put them on the front counter?” “Of course.” You give him a small nod and lead him to the counter.
After putting the books down you nervously fiddled with your hair, glancing at Fenrys every other second. You felt like you always messed up when you spoke to him. That awkward laugh would always leave your lips and you always forgot where you were going when you bumped into him in the castle.
Clearing your throat you finally look make eye contact. Maybe that’s too much eye contact, you think to yourself. Fenrys isn’t shying away though. If anything he’s looking at you with the same shy, unsure intensity.
An awkward moment of silence passes between the two of you before Fenrys finally remembers why he’s here. “Aelin sent me to pick up her book. She said you had it set aside for her.”
The realization clicked in your eyes and your cheeks redden. It was silly to think he was there for you. Pulling the book from the shelf behind you and turning back to Fenrys you give him a small smile, hoping it didn’t look as sad as you felt. “Here you go.” His fingers brushed against yours. You felt a warmth rush through your body at the soft touch.
Your cheeks heat even more as you bite back your smile. Fenrys takes the book giving you a reassuring smile. “Thanks,” he says softly. “You’re welcome.” He nods and turns to leave. Fenrys cringes at himself, squeezing his eyes shut.
He stopped with his hand on the door, thinking screw it. Marching back up to the counter Fenrys takes a deep breath. You look up at him with bright curiosity in your eyes. “Would you like to go out to dinner with me?”
You nod your head excitedly. “I would love that. Is tomorrow night ok?” “Absolutely.” You give him a bright smile. Taking out a pen and paper you write down your address for him. He takes it happily and practically skips out of your store back to the castle.

I just can't get the idea of Lorcan with a soft wife. Like she gardens and bakes and nobody understands how the dynamic works so well but it just does
Sweet peas
Well, don't they say that opposites attract? Sounds cliché but in all reality, it's just how it is. It's so obvious looking at the two of you that nature requires balance.
Lorcan is the embodiment of dark, lethal power. He's someone who people don't even dare to take a second glance at. Lowering their heads. Moving further away from the streets. Praying to the gods they believe in hopes that they would save them if Lorcan appeared on their doorstep. Especially when he's the god of death himself.
So to say that people gasped with fear when they saw you standing so close to him the first couple of times would be an understatement. "What a poor beautiful girl, hope the death is quick", "What could have she possibly done to upset him", and "What a cruel way to go, for such a delicate creature".
Just the funny thing is that it's quite the opposite. It's Lorcan who has been captivated by you. Trailing by you like a true dark shadow. And it's as if he finally understood what it's like to feel the warmth that radiates from the sky. How pleasant the summer breeze can be. That chirping bird wasn't all that annoying. And all of that is because of you.
The first time you met he was rushing back home. Annoyed over the fact that the whole day was shit. Cutting corners so that he would return to the comfort of his home as soon as possible. In all of his anger, he didn't notice the patch of only springing flowers, his big boots stomping on them. The gasp that echoed behind him made him jerk back.
And there you were. Two braids falling over your chest, a light green dress with puffy sleeves, and a dirty airport that you without a doubt used to wipe your hands at. At first, he thought that the gasp was the usual reaction to you simply seeing him. That's how everyone always reacted. But no.
You weren't looking at him. Eyes fixed on the crushed stems beneath Lorcan's feet. His own eyes darted down. "My sweet peas...", you stepped closer, pushing at Lorcan's chest as if he wasn't the biggest predator in town. "No, no...", you muttered, kneeling, gently trying to pull any of the potential survivors up. And it felt as if that dead flower was exactly how Lorcan's heartfelt now watching you. The way your soft fingers touched the still-closed petals that will never get to bloom.
"I...", Lorcan starts but you're shaking your head, picking up your watering jug as you pierce him with what Lorcan assumed was your angry face but he could tell that it wasn't a usual emotion you portrayed.
But he can't stop thinking about those sweet peas. All evening. All night. All morning. And he's so grumpy. So unimaginably grumpy because why the hell is he thinking about some flowers? And the teasing from the boys doesn't help because when he finally snaps and says, "I don't know where to get sweet peas that are in bloom, okay?!", the whole room dies down. Fenrys throws Gavriel a look and the older male silently forbids the pup from commenting. Rowan has one eyebrow raised. It's Aelin who clocks onto what's going on. She knows you. Had seen you last evening, and listened to how upset you were that your favorite flowers got stomped on by some sulking brood. "I know where to and plenty of them", she says softly and Lorcan's hopeful eyes meet hers.
It's not long after that he's knocking on your cottage door. Hands firmly holding six pots with sweet peas in different colors. The sugary smell twirls all around Lorcan and it hits him that they almost smell like you. The door cracks open and here you are. Once again right in front of him and he's so starstruck that he forgets how to speak for a moment. Then he just pushes the pots closer to you, "Bought you what I destroyed". You tried to scold him with your eyes but Lorcan could see the happy softness there. "Want to help me replant them?", you asked softly and that was his last undoing. Shrugging off his jacket, Lorcan pushed the sleeves of his shirt over his elbows. Getting ready for the best day of his life that opened the door to happily ever after.

Stuck
Elide Lochan x Lorcan Salvaterre modern au
A/N: idk wtf this is, I got an idea and then it spiralled into something completely different and considered how I ended I might write a second part where they fuck it out of their system, just for the sake of it
Enjoy!:)
Word count: ~2300
"No. Nonono, fuck no. Not today, please!" She cried, running her fingers through her hair and pulling at the roots until it hurt.
Elide groaned, shutting her eyes closed.
She tried to draw a deeper breath in and when the tight skin dress didn't stretch enough for her to do so, Elide felt anxiety crest.
"Fuck me," she whined, running to her living room, where the biggest mirror in her flat leaned against the wall. Maybe the problem was that she couldn't see properly and something was obstructing the way.
Turning with her back to the glass, she started slapping at her back, trying to reach for the zipper. Once her fingers closer around the tiny chip of metal, Elide yanked the thing down.
Nothing.
She closed her eyes in despair, breathing through her nose. When air got stuck in her throat again she blew it from her mouth.
Her eyes started stinging.
"Please, not today."
She had had the longest day at work and she needed to get out of this dress, so she could decompress after the tiring shift. But no, she couldn't. Of course not. The universe hated her and she was cursed.
And she was stuck.
She tried again, slower, gentler. The zipper didn't even shift.
Elide never really considered herself claustrophobic, she easily got into elevators and toilet stalls without windows. She never felt any kind of panic whenever she was in tiny, crowded spaces and such.
But she was starting to doubt how much she truly knew herself at this point.
She clutched her neck with a hand, forcing herself to take small, slow breaths, trying to calm down and think of a solution.
Before she knew what she was doing, she was out of her apartment and striding down to the only other one she was sure wasn't vacant.
She couldn't waste any time checking which neighbor was home or not and the music coming from apartment E24 was proof enough someone was in there.
She reached the door in the blink of an eye and started slamming her palm against the flat wood surface, so hard that her skin tingled with pain.
"Fuck!" A clearly masculine voice came from inside, “The Police!”
“Shut up, Fenrys, it’s not the Police,” another male voice came through. Whoever it was, they were immensely calmer than the former speaker.
“Fuck you, Ro, you can’t know!”
Elide called out, “I’m not the Police, please open the door!”
“You open it, Dorian."
“Are you for real?” Another person.
"You're closer to it—"
"It's your house."
"—and I'm scared."
"Hellas above, I'll get the door."
Elide didn't have time to step back that the door unlocked and a second later a guy larger than life stood in front of her.
She sagged, leaning forward. She couldn't help the relieved whisper that escaped her. "Thank gods."
He opened his mouth to speak, but she was already turning her back to him.
"I'm fucking stuck and if you don't help me right now I might collapse."
Dramatic much, she could hear her best friend's words in her head.
"I've been trying to get out of this hellish trap for twenty minutes and I–" she paused, panting as if she'd just ran a marathon, "–I can't really breathe."
When her plea was met with silence she turned her head enough to look over her shoulder and she only then realized how tall the man standing there was.
He towered over her, by two heads.
He was staring at her with parted lips and a furrowed brow.
"I'm sorry what?" His voice was rough, scratchy in a way that made Elide blush.
She whined, not above crying in front of strangers if it came to it, "The dress, it won't come off, I need you to zip it down. Please."
A loud, barking laugh came from inside the apartment and then a chorus of various voices started.
"I can't believe this is happening."
"No one will believe us when we tell this story."
"Lucky bastard."
"I can't believe it myself and I'm living through it."
Elide ignored the others and focused on the giant guy, looking him straight in the eyes, "Listen I just need you to pull it down, I can't do it myself and I live alone, please I…"
"Okay," he murmured. He stepped forward, lifting his hands toward her dress. He looked at her back before his eyes flitted to hers, "Can I?"
"Please," Elide repeated.
She tensed when his fingers brushed her skin, and held her breath when he brought the hems of the dress together and tried to pull the zipper down.
"It doesn't work," he stated.
"No shit, Sherlock," someone said from inside. "She literally told you that."
Elide brought her hands to her face and groaned for what felt like the thousandth time that night.
When he stepped back, she turned and eyed the others—there were seven guys, plus the titan standing next to her, in total. They seemed to be in the middle of some kind of videogame tournament. Snacks and joysticks lay everywhere and they were all wearing some kind of comfy clothes.
She had to hold back her smile when she realized she'd walked in on a slumber party.
"Do any of you know how to fix zippers or am I destined to die in this?"
"I heard using soap works, come inside."
Elide's attention shifted back to the guy next to her. She had to bend her head back to look him in the face.
He was wearing black pants and a black sweater, and he had his arms crossed over his chest. He was eyeing her curiously, as if he was studying her. Elide couldn't say she minded the attention.
He was pretty good on the eye, too.
Another one of the guys shot up, "Sure, let the stranger in, it's not like this is my house."
"You're right, I'm so sorry," Elide looked back at the room. She stepped inside nonetheless, "I'm Elide. Lochan. I live in E27? I think we crossed paths a couple of times?"
"Oh, maybe." The owner of the house came up to her, extending a hand and flashing her a shit-eating grin, "Fenrys, Moonbeam."
"Nice to meet you, where do you keep the soap?"
He seemed taken aback for a second and slowly lowered his hand. A few surprised snorts sounded in the room. He pointed a finger down the corridor, "Bathroom."
Someone brushed past her, murmuring a curt come as they passed.
She didn't have to be told twice and followed the Wardrobe-wide Guy into the flat.
He moved around the bathroom like he owned the place, and Elide would probably be embarrassed later when she realized she'd literally just barged into someone's house and demanded their help, but she needed to get out of this dress and couldn't really think of anything else at the moment.
"Turn around."
Elide did as told without a word.
She hissed as a few droplets of cold water slid down her back.
"Sorry," he grumbled. The soft sound of the soap bar grating against the zipper was the only audible thing. And she was growing aware of her surroundings.
"What's your name?"
"Lorcan."
"Cool," she cleared her throat. "Cool, cool."
He huffed a breath. His version of a laugh, perhaps?
She felt the dress being pulled down, but nothing unzipping, then he clicked his tongue.
"It's not working, is it?"
"Nah," he said, putting the soap back and washing his hands. "I could try with some oil."
Elide let go of a shuddering breath, she just wanted out of it.
When she said nothing, Lorcan rounded her and stood in front of her, glancing down at her face. His chin jutted out, "You okay?"
She nodded swiftly, offering a tight smile.
Now that she knew someone else was taking care of the issue at hand, she was feeling calmer. And she could think more clearly.
The guy in front of her was stunning.
He had long, black hair that reached his waist. Eyes just as dark and a white, deep scar that ran from the side of his forehead down to his temple that appeared even paler in contrast with his dark skin. She wondered how he'd gotten it.
"Are you claustrophobic or some shit like that?"
That question brought her back to reality and made her aware of the fact that he'd been watching her just as closely.
She shook her head, "I'm just exhausted and I want to sleep. But I can't sleep in this."
His lips curled on one side and after a few seconds where they just studied each other, he jerked his head toward the living room before silently heading back.
She was on his heels in a heartbeat.
The moment they stepped into the full room, Elide dared looking at the crowd. She stopped in the hall when one of them talked.
"Lorbear, I see you're no good at undressing ladies in distress."
Lorbear. This group was close.
Elide snorted, rolling her eyes back and then fixing her stare on the blue-eyed prince charming that sat on the only armchair. "You think you could do better?"
A white-haired guy chuckled, addressing her directly. "Our Dorian here hasn't seen a single dress in his entire life, he wouldn't know where to start."
She smiled knowingly, enjoying the distraction as much as the friendly banter between the boys.
"Do I need to remind you how you met your girlfriend, Rowan?" Dorian grinned back, lifting a foot to poke at the other's leg.
Rowan—she supposed—tensed and clenched his jaw, slapping Dorian's foot away, "Please, don't."
Elide's interest was piqued, so much so that she wanted to ask questions, but Lorcan's voice called for her from the kitchen.
She waved at the others, "Wish me good luck."
A chorus of good luck rose from the couches.
"Sorry," she said as she sauntered in the small kitchen, "I got stopped."
Lorcan gestured at her to turn around, "Don't mind them, they're all jerks."
"I like them," she shrugged as she positioned in front of him. "Plus, you're the one hanging out with them, if you really thought that, I don't think you'd be here."
His fingers slipped under the fabric on her back and something coarse scratched at her skin.
"It's paper, so you don't get oily," he warned.
"Oh," she was surprised. By the small kind gesture, and by the reaction her body was having to the infinitely unimportant brush of his touch. "Thanks."
"No prob," he drawled, his voice traveling over the back of her neck.
Elide scrunched her nose. What was she doing?
"Would you mind leaning forward a bit for me, 'lide?"
'Lide.
She was going to die.
You're not, Manon's voice sounded amused in her head as she obeyed.
They went through the process again, just for the zipper to not even budge.
He cleaned the metal, wiping it until it was dry enough that it wouldn't dirty her.
She turned to face him again and he bent his head to the side, scratching his jaw.
"Can I cut it?"
A laugh bubbled up in her throat, "No, it's my work uniform, you can't cut it."
He stared at her for the longest time, then went, "Are you wearing a bra?"
What?
Someone laughed from the other room, "Smooth, Slavaterre. Really smooth."
Lorcan huffed, running a hand down his face, "I was wondering if we could take it off from the head. You know, like a shirt."
Elide suddenly felt stupid. She blushed lightly and muttered, "I didn't think of it."
"So?"
It was her turn to stare at him, in silence, contemplating her next move.
The way his gaze didn't falter for half a second gave her a kind of confidence she rarely possesses these days.
She shook her head, "Yes, I am."
"Do you think you can do it by yourself?"
She nodded.
Lorcan hummed, "I guess my part is done here, then."
"I guess," she replied, never stepping back from the staring contest.
When his eyes slid lower, slowly, to her mouth, she smirked. He mimicked her, and his tongue came out to wet his plump lip.
It wasn't her style, not really how she found hookups, but Lorcan was attractive and seemed to be really appreciative of whatever he was seeing in her.
"What if," she added, speaking so softly that only he could hear her, "I get stuck?"
Something glimmered in his eyes, and he took a step forward. The movement forced her head further back and when his hand lifted to play with the hem of her sleeve, her arms covered in goosebumps.
"I could help with that," he rasped, caressing her shoulder. He ran a finger down her collarbone and Elide took a sharp breath in.
Their eyes met again and she swallowed.
"Then I'll make sure to call you, if it comes to that."
Lorcan's lips curled again, tempting, "I would love that."
Fenrys' scream came sharp as a needle, bursting their bubble of tension and longing.
"Don't you dare make out in my kitchen!"
Elide averted her gaze, pushing her tongue against her cheek to avoid laughing. She really liked these people.
Lorcan stepped back until a good two meters distanced them and then inhaled, extending a hand toward the living room.
She walked out of the kitchen first, heading directly for the front door.
She spared a long look at Lorcan, letting him see the sincerity behind her next words, "You know where to find me, Salvaterre, if you ever need company."
She loved the taste of his name on her tongue.
He smirked, taking his stance next to the kitchen door. He nodded his head once, clearly letting her know he would take up on her words.
She didn't even look at the rest of the guys as she said goodbye and left, closing the door behind her.
She was halfway down the corridor when shouts and cheers exploded from Fenrys' flat.
Oh, just how fast things had changed.

Random small headcanons for my fav SJM men
Those are totally random thoughts I had and just kept collecting, also I'll be adding new ones when I'll come up with something. Feel free to reblog and add yours <3
I think Gavriel can draw really well, especially with pencil. Like, you know, he's a really precise and detailed guy, plus thanks to his soldier skills he has really stable hands, and it just sits right with me
Azriel loves when you paint his nails black. Also once you made him wear eyeliner and he actually really liked the results, so now from time to time he lets you do it
Aedion has his ears pierced but doesn't wear any earrings (it was probably a dare, even more likely he was drunk then)
Ruhn likes to have a small, faint lamp put on when he sleeps. It looks like a white sparkle and doesn't cast much light but having it next to his bed makes him feel somehow more safe and comfy
Also, he loves being held while sleeping. When you let him snuggle to your chest and hold him tight... It's his paradise, he can stay like this for eternity
Cassian is very ticklish (especially on feet). It's actually his secret because, come on, he's the Lord of Bloodshed, how can he be ticklish? And of course you fully respect that, not wanting his reputation to suffer, however, when it's just the two of you... Let's say Cass has to be pretty alert most times as you love to take advantage of that
Fenrys always brings you a plushie from his travels to foreign countries. Actually, he brings you many different things like jewellery, dresses, combs, mirrors, gems... everything. But a plushie, is a must. You have a whole collection of small cute stuffed animals (mostly wolves) from different parts of the world. Every one of them has a name, personality and a back story which you and Fenrys always come up with
Aedion is a horse girl. He rides so well and just loved being around those animals since he was a little boy. Often he takes you on all day long trips around Terrasen. Also he has few of his favorite horses and he spoils them so much, they're just his babies.
He also probably has like six dogs and wants to adopt every one he sees on the street
Lorcan most of the times either doesn't cuddle or is the big spoon. However, after really hard day he loves to fall asleep with his face in your breasts and his hair stroked
Sometimes when Rowan is engrossed in his work, he hums songs mindlessly
Fenrys talks in his sleep, and this goes to the point where you can literally argue with him or have a whole conversation as he's asleep
Aedion swears a lot. Gavriel doesn't swear almost ever and his face when Aedion starts throwing curses he could never imagine is just priceless
However, Gavriel knows many langues. So, whenever he's angry and finally hit his breaking point, he starts shit talking and insulting everyone in a foreign langue no one knows (just imagine him aggressively talking to himself in Spanish while walking around and throwing hands in the air lol)
Cassian always sleeps naked and refuses (will literally get offended) to do otherwise, even if there are different people sleeping in the room (read: Azriel)
Dorian baby talks to his dogs. Sometimes when he does this he forgets that he is a king and then have the whole castle talking about it for the next week (people find it adorable though. some of them at least.)
Rowan always has some blades with him. Always. Dude could be standing in the room only in his boxers and still proceed to pull out a knife from gods know where
Also, he will never admit it but he has some of his favorite blades that he had named. But if you'd ever done this he would laugh at you
Once you've gotten Ruhn a bracelet for his birthday that was a guitar pick of his favorite guitarist on a black string and from then he doesn't take it off. Ever.
We know Ruhn has this very rare and useful ability to speak in people's minds, however his favorite way to use those abilities is to make the dumbest jokes in your head in the most random moments and watch you burst out laughing around all those strangers that have no idea what is going on
GAVRIEL HAS DIMPLES
AND SO FUCKING DOES AEDION
(he also got the big d genes from him but it's the topic for other post)
So, Fenrys is a master at coming up with the weirdest nicknames for his loved one, however, no one compares to Cassian in this matter. His creativity sometimes is more than flesh and blood can bear
Lorcan is actually the biggest girl dad
Let's be honest, Dorian has better skin care than any lady in the whole sjm universe
Cassian loves being called your pretty princess
Azriel loves puzzles. And Legos! There's no better way to spend your day off than building castles and forts, and then having an actual battle between your kingdoms
Bat boys are not really fond of thunder... I think they have bad experiences with flying during storm and it haunts them to this day. They always want to be the little spoons and be cuddled when there's a storm outside
Azriel has bat slippers and Fenrys has wolf or bunny slippers
Dorian loves wearing sygnets. He has so many and you're simply obsessed with them. He's a king, he has to look decent, you know, but Dorian loves wearing them even if it's just the two of you snuggling or sitting in the library reading. Or when he fucks you and you can feel them dig into your skin when he grabs your ass..
Lorcan enjoys having his hair combed. He just melts when you do it. And if you do a little braid somewhere on his head he will keep it and wear it for the next few days
Gavriel is the best dancer you will ever meet. On the balls he can easily make everyone's attention turn to the two of you. But he also likes to dance with you in your house or chambers, where there are no people or music, and to be honest both of you like those moments much better
To be continued....

Serve you my heart
Here I am with a silly fic based on the following prompt:
thegreyj asked:
Fenrys giving Rowan advice on how to start a conversation with someone he likes
Fen: "Ask her something, get to know her!"
Ro: "Like what?"
Fen: "Ask her if she likes books."
Later Rowan tries to follow the advice. Only he ends up staring at Aelin for a minute before just blurting out "Books."
@rowaelinprompts
When I saw it I knew I had to write something with it. I wrote this in an hour. it's a quick 1.4k word fic and I hope you like it.
It has an awkward Rowan who has a crush on Aelin and yes... I love a flustered bird boy.
The title is silly and as you know I am bad at it but since it has a mention of volleyball (a sport I love with all my heart) I tried to play with words.
Enjoy
-----
Rowan felt like a teenager. He was in his thirty but when Aelin Galathynius was around his brain just stopped working. He would just turn into a blubbering idiot and would quickly walk away to avoid passing for an idiot. By now she probably thought that he hated her.
He worked in a high school as biology teacher. Aelin was the new English teacher and she was the sun in his dreary life. Her hair blonde like the sun, her eyes a gorgeous blue with a ring of gold. And her curves. Rowan had to force himself not to think about her body or he would just combust on the spot. Surely it was not proper having such thoughts about a colleague, but he could not deny that he was interested in her. Speaking to his other colleagues he had heard nothing but good things about her and he wanted to try and have a proper conversation with her.
Truth was… he was not the greatest communicator when it came to women. He had  a few relationships, but most of the times the women threw themselves at him. This time he wanted to make the first step and he was terrified.
So, after assigning homework to his class he decided to go to the only man who had a stellar success with women.
His friend Fenrys was the coach of the volleyball team and always surrounded by females. Maybe he could have some insight from him and get Aelin’s attention.
With long strides he crossed the school halls and eventually reached the gym and inside he saw his friend wrapping up practice.
“Roro, my friend. What brings you down here?” He threw a ball at his friend and Rowan caught it swiftly.
A moment later Fenrys moved to the other side of the net and nodded at the other man as if in saying bring it on. Fen assumed a defensive position and Rowan walked towards the end line and prepared to serve. He bounced the ball a few times and then leapt in a run and jumped, spiking the ball with a loud crack.
Fenrys was ready but Rowan had thrown him one of his famous serves that ended in an ace.
“Are you sure you still want to teach biology to these hellions?”
Rowan walked to his friend “Aye, my ACL is not very keen on the sport anymore.”
Rowan had been a volleyball player and after uni he had gone pro for a couple of years. But then during a game he injured his ACL and that was it for him, so he had gone into teaching biology. His second passion after volleyball.
“So, how can I help?”
The two men sat on the benches court side.
“I need help.”
“Ro my man, there’s still hope for you. You are not on Lorcan’s levels yet.”
Rowan glared at his friend “lady problems.”
Fenrys face broke in a bright smile “well, you came to the very expert. Women love me.”
They were both silent while Rowan tried to formulate the question in his head. Fenrys was always confident. He was not.
“So, who is the hottie who has your pants twisted in a knot?”
Rowan muttered something intelligible.
“Hm?”
“Aelin.” He repeated in an almost grunt.
“Ohhh look at you, trying to play with the big league. I don’t think she has good taste though. She rejected me.”
Rowan was shocked “you hit on her?”
Fenrys scoffed “Hell yes, I wanted to offer her the Moonbeam welcome pack but she declined.”
A deep groan left Rowan’s lips at the innuendo.
“Have you talked to her?”
“No? I freeze when she is around. By now she thinks I am a psychopath.”
“Nah, don’t degrade yourself like that. You are just bad with women.”
“How can I talk to her?”
Fenrys tapped his lips with his finger in a pensive motion “Ask her about something she likes.”
A blank stare was Rowan’s reply.
“She is an English teacher, which means that maybe she likes books? Ask her about the books she likes,” he explained “you are a boring bookworm too, she might well be the woman for you.”
Books. Rowan mentally slapped himself for not having thought about that before. That was a conversation he could have. He loved reading too.
“Ok… that I think I can do.”
“Go Rowie, and get some. Rowan junior needs action.”
Rowan waved at his friend and walked out of the gym and back in his office to mull over his plan to try and talk to Aelin.
A few days had passed and Rowan had studied Aelin’s schedule and knew that on a Wednesday she had a break long enough between classes that she loved to take a moment to herself and go outside and sit on a bench under the trees and read. It was the perfect location, away enough from other teacher to hide his shame if she shut him down.
It was a warm day and he strolled through the school yard in his blu shirt with sleeves rolled up and a book in his hand. When he got to the bench Aelin was there and he paused. She had a gorgeous summery green dress on and a green ribbon around her long blonde hair. All Rowan could think was that she was stunning. She was reading and he felt like a bastard for interrupting her, but he wanted to talk to Aelin really badly.
He forced his body to move and then stopped I front of her.
Blue eyes looked up at him in surprise “do you need anything?”
Rowan tried to speak but words failed him “I…”
Come on big man, you can do it, one word after the other “Books.” He eventually blurted out pointing out at the book she was holding in a perfect imitation of a caveman.
“Yes, this is a book.” The smile that she gave him had the power to melt him. How was it that this woman had such power over him?
“Book,” he repeated, lifting his “I have a book too.” Gods he was pathetic. Why did he listen to Fen? Someone gave him a shovel and help him dug his grave because he was dying of embarrassment.
“You like fantasy too?” She added, noticing the book he was carrying.
Rowan grabbed the book under his arm and stared at the title. He always had at least two in his backpack and he had just grabbed a random one to try and impress her.
“I do.”
“I read that. It’s really good. How are you finding it so far?”
It was working, she was talking to him “I am enjoying it very much, I find the world building pretty incredible.”
Aelin gave him a bright smile “the author is incredibly skilled at that. What about the characters?”
He sat on the bench at her side, feeling a sudden surge of courage “I am struggling with Celaena. Hope she gets better.”
Aelin gave him a warm laugh and Rowan stared at her in fascination “she will steal your heart soon. Give her time.”
“I trust you,” he said quietly.
“I am Aelin, I teach English.” A hand extended in from of her.
“Rowan, biology.”
“I know,” a soft confession “I have been wondering when you were going to find the courage to finally talk to me.”
Rowan’s mouth fell open in disbelief.
“I saw you many times walking towards me and then stopping and retreating.” Another beautiful smile “Looks like the captain of the Orynth Hawks is not as fierce with women as he is on the volleyball court?”
“I…” and the stuttering was back.
Aelin stood “I watched a lot of your games, captain.”
Rowan looked up. His gaze followed her perfect legs all the way up to her stunning face.
She made a move to walk away but he stopped, his hand gently grabbing hers “tickets.” He cleared his gruff voice “I have tickets for the next game. Come with me and then we can go and hit a bookstore.”
Aelin squeezed his hand back “who says that the icy captain does not know how to woo women?”
Rowan stared at her with apprehension.
“Of course I am coming, Whitethorn.” One second her lips were on his cheek, the next she was walking away with her head turned to him and a beautiful smile painted on her face.
He was taking Aelin to a volleyball game of his old team and then a bookstore.
He did it.
Definitely had to find a way to set up women to one of the pro women’s team as a thank you for his pep talk.
He fist pumped the air and with a spring in his step went back to his office with the biggest smile stamped on his face.

I'm almost done with my acotar reread. I'm on acofas and I have thoughts. Yes, these are most likely unpopular and, most importantly, my opinions.
1. I don't like Rhys or Feyre. I know I've been back and forth on Rhys on liking him and not. I understand why now. I appreciate him from a morally grey standpoint and the healing journey Feyre goes through. Their love story is good not great just good. Beyond on that I couldn't careless.
2. Acotar is her weakest series. I know it's romance based. far more than tog or cc. Perhaps that's the issue. I'm not sure. But her writing, in general, is stronger in tog and cc
3. I've been rereading all sjm books in anticipation of hofas with my friend Rachel(@nighteyed) Throughout our long discussions, I'm taking Azriel out of the doghouse I put him in. No, that doesn't mean I agree with his bonus scene it still rubs me the wrong way and will call out his faults like I do every character. But he's alright.
4. Tamlin is 100% a red flag. But the male is depressed af and the ic should just leave him alone. What happened UTM broke him too. And changed him. Locking up Feyre, going to Hybern, and acting like a dickhead at the highlords meeting were fucked up. Him reacting over Feyre's letter in acomaf was not. When she left she couldn't read or write.
5. Eris made mistakes in the past but deep down I think he's a better male than alot of the fae. And also. Make Azris canon Sarah. Do that and I'll forgive so lorcan did.
6. I haven't liked Mor since I first met her and I still don't
7. Cassian is the superior bat boy. I said what I said.
8. It's so sad seeing how Nesta was improving in acowar. How she began changing, helping. That bite and coldness she started off with was going away and then she watched her father die. Her mate almost die, and killed Hybern. It broke her and you can see the shift in her immediately after the battle.
9. What did Elain and Lucien talk about before he left Velaris?? Speaking of them. What happened between acowar and acofas. I need answers Sarah.
10. Because I feel like I need to round this out lmao. I think the whole line Elain says to Cassian about it wouldn't take much to kill him isn't foreshadowing. He almost died three times in the series. Once in acomaf, twice in acowar. She was merely stating that he throws himself into battles to protect others without a thought to himself, and if he's not careful, it could end him. It's also possible she just saw a vision at the battle of hybern.

@xsweetxhallelujah asked “Shhh. It’s okay, it’s okay. It’s me. It’s okay, you’re safe.”
Dominika didn’t cry. That was something that had been pushed out of her most of her life and yet-- everything had all hit her at once and as soon as she was alone it had all come out. Falling onto the floor of the bedroom that she shared with Lorcan. That day had been hard, people that she’d known her whole life wanted her dead and they’d come close. And it didn’t help that as soon as she got back to the place it didn’t mean that she was safe. People that worked for Lorcan wanted her dead as well. So caught up in her own thoughts and tears that she didn’t notice someone in the room until he was beside her and Dom jumped away quickly before his words helped her register who it was. “Lo. I thought you were going to be out all night.” Wiping a tear away.
