congrats on rewiring my brain. every ff7 au fic i read now, im thinking in the back of my head 'but what if cursed strife or calamity zack showed up right now'.

do you think cursed strife ever gets a sense of there being a template that these universes are deviating from? we know that there's an original story they're all based on, but idk if there'd be a reason for c!s to consider any one universe a baseline to measure all the rest against.

CC absolutely has noticed that there’s a template, and it’s his. He doesn’t know if that’s true across all time and space, or if it’s just that it’s easier to land in dimensions more like his own. If he were more scientifically-minded he might try to find out, but he’ll leave that to Professor Strife.

The youngsters will probably fall asleep first, more likely Jarell or Jayden out of all of them. Either will be cuddled up next to one of the older players while they all watch a movie (beanbag chairs and oversized throw blankets, anyone?) and then suddenly they're asleep. The last one will be Darwizzy or Robbo (after they come down from their sugar highs)

We talk a lot about red flags and got me thinking (because I'm a chronic overthinker)... Do all of your ROs have red flags to some degree? Do you have some measure scale to say like which one is worse or just intimidating? I'm just rambling here so feel free to ignore.

So! For me it's just that the characters give me different vibes instead of cataloging from least to most dangerous. Some examples of it:

Roan is a literal ray of sunshine but it's not the kind of person you want to push off their limit

Khari is intimidating but apart from some harsh comment wouldn't harm you if you don't antagonize them

Riven is violent and impulsive but not inherently cruel, more like wanting to be purposely difficult and lashing out due to instinct/trauma

Ariel gives off a dangerous aura right away, but again, not out of cruelty

Sage you just gotta look them in the eye once and your first thought is "I ain't messing around with this one unless I have a wish for a slow and painful death"

I'd say yes, all of them are 'red flags' to some degree. I think whether one is worse than the other is more of a subjective thing.

For example;

Sasha has no regard for laws, can be pushy (the 'cmon dance with me/lets watch horror movies!!!!' type of pushy), and is kind of like a puppy with separation anxiety, extremely dependent on the praise and attention from their loved ones.

Roan quite literally would do most heinous things to keep MC alive, no matter MCs own feelings towards Roan and as stated multiple times in the game, they are way too accepting of MC, even if MC is rude to them.

Sage and Ariel don't perceive violence or murder attempts as a red flag, (which is a red flag in itself) as long as they have their own reasons. Riven is similar in that regard, and like Sasha, they are like a dog with separation anxiety.

Khari can come off as an asshole and is unapologetic or hostile at times when someone disrespects their boundaries, also they do not subscribe to the 'everyone deserves respect' instead having the 'respect is earned' mentality.

Morgan is constantly negative and pessimistic and sees no point in fake politeness, no matter the time or place. They also are accepting of more shady characters and just refuse to be positive about things.

So i'd say all of them are 'red flags' to some degree, its just different shades and shapes of red!

Since you mentioned the meteor thing I got curious. If Michael carries a meteor weapon, do all the archangels? Does mc?

They do! The list goes as follows for the seven Archangels and their weapons of choice:

Michael - longsword (Genesis)

Gabriel - javelin (Prodigal)

Raphael - mace (Exodus)

Uriel - butterfly dagger (Rapture)

Raziel - glaive (Leviathan)

Zadkiel - khopesh (Temperance)

Camael - claymore (Revelation)

MC will get the opportunity to carry a meteoric weapon and will have a choice between a dagger, a sword, or a spear.

I imagine that Orenic just """accidentally""" provided an outdated computer in the desk at MC works at, which conveniently was specially coded by one of the people working on the Mimicry project to display nothing related to A.I. or robots, whatsoever, therefore MC doesn't deal with "I am not a robot" checks. (but when they glanced over at Ellie's desk once they saw them click the little checkbox and decided that it was Ellie's device that was weird, not theirs, because obviously why would any website ask if they weren't a robot, of course they're not,,, ,,, ,,,,,?)

And remember that the whole thing Orenic wants is for MC to be able to prove they're human-like, so ... they would want MC to be "evolved" enough to check that little square.

but just in case, they disabled the "I am not a robot" feature lol

Hi! Sorry if this is plain dumb but... hear me out. From what I've gathered the numbers are being kept isolated from other people, agents and civilization contacts or well being strictly monitor at their current operation base so why can the doctor be in such close contact with someone so dangerous like MC, even if you know they could drug them and restraint them as we've already seen. Like are they normal? Or do they have some special way/ powers of their own to defend themselves from the numbers? Maybe i read wrong (sorry it's been a while since a read the demo) but are they the only staff there or do the numbers have like cleaning people, some kind of base service around? And did they have fighting instructors at some point or they each learned skills as they went in their pasts?

Zero is actually responsible for teaching others how to fight and handle each weapon! One helps as well.

Are they [Shai] the only staff there or do the numbers have like cleaning people, some kind of base service around?

There's no cleaning staff at the headquarters, nor are there cooks etc. There's a few people working under dr. Shai and there's few security guards that remain outside of HQ, but otherwise there's no one else.

As for whether Shai is normal or has any powers... ;)

This is more of a lore question but, how does the Asuran contract system for relationships work in your universe?

It works normally! I have several asura who have been in contracts (Pheazza has been in one, Vezz's mother Cautti has had multiple, and Xeonna was in one before Rata Novus fell... others will likely be in contracted relationships as well).

The big differences are characters like Vezz, who was smitten with Rissia from the word go, and they're in a committed relationship. Qirri and Rissia's parents are also in a permanent contract, which probably accounts for why two of their daughters went sideways when it came to their relationships (Rissia properly married and Qirri in a long-term non-contractual polyamorous relationship, even if the twins both have been in contracts).

Pheazza's parents are also in a permanent contract, though both of them are pretty non-traditional to begin with, seeing as how they raised their three kids in Lion's Arch. Pheazza's brothers, however, also have entered and left contracts much like she has.

For those in contracts, I think it tends to be entered into early on in the relationship. Things are set up for who gets what invention, decisions are made for if any progeny will be in the picture, etc. Kind of like a prenuptial agreement that we'd be familiar with today, to avoid custody battles or lengthy arguments over possessions.

I like to think that contracting is still popular but more and more asura are taking a liking to the relationship methods of other races, hence why I wound up with a pile of characters in non-traditional relationships to asuran culture.

If Amos De Lucét is the current consiel to King Garrick Delareine. Does that mean our character would be the next consiel for the next King or Queen? Can’t Amos still be consiel after King Garrick dies?

Yes he is, and yes the MC is. They're specifically being trained to be Ellowen's consiel after she ascends the throne.

And there's this archaic law from the time the first consiel took the position that no one consiel can serve two monarchs, hence the push for Amos to train a new consiel; he's not getting any younger and neither is Garrick.

In terms of variation for MC's personality, I want to flesh out the before vs. after! Basically, I want Thrill Seeker to sort of highlight the way our experiences change us.

Hannie, a person who wasn't allowed to be a child and who's life was scheduled for them, doesn't allow themself to be childish and has a very hard time enjoying themselves, as they've been taught they're immature if they act that way.

N, a person who's been dealt a very unlucky hand with bad health problems, who's biological parents were bad influences and gave them up easily, who's past relationships have been terrible, who has had people try to take away their personality from them moment after moment, clings harder and closer to that personality and masks all their feelings with a smile.

Oli, who compared to the others has not truly had a bad past, but feels this deep sense of loneliness in the departure of their closest friend, and now cannot communicate the changes they've experienced even to the person they trust the most- every character has to tackle their own traumas and deal with their own mental battles, having their own ways to tackle it.

There is not one 'correct' way. There is no 'perfect' way. Proper communication, proper coping mechanisms, are things that'll show up in the story.

In this manner, I want MCs to be able to flesh out their before, and to flesh out their after. You can be peppy, stoic, quiet, loud, whatever you like. You can be emotional, numb, difficult to be around. You can be insane. Literally a whole route about slowly going mad (there will be a VERY harsh betrayal scene, which I've been trying to keep tight-lipped ab, but I really can't wait till you guys see it, LOL)

Basically, I want the MC to build if before, they might have been more stoic, but with the loss are trying to grasp at the straws of the other relationships they have now and keep things together, keep every moment treasured. Or maybe, you used to be happy-go-lucky, but now you can't find the motivation to be happy as of late. Maybe you had lots of dreams, and like Oli, are too scared to pursue them now, having your first taste of loss. In terms of character building, Thrill Seeker will be very personality-heavy!

Most likely. He's filthy rich even if he doesn't live like it. His little 'nephew' can go to whatever college or trade school he wants and Cloud will cover all of it. Mama Strife can live in as much luxury as her sensibilities can stand.

Virgil was initially the type to hesitate when asking for help, because it isn't traditionally "macho" (blame that horrid father of his for that one). But now he's gotten a lot better at asking for help. He mainly turns to Ali, Klopp and Lijnders by default, and will readily confess whatever's bothering him to them except when he's already worried about them.

Why can’t Riven get drunk? I mean Sasha is a vampire…so it kinda makes sense they can’t get drunk because they aren’t actually alive but Riven is alive…just a werewolf. And does that mean Khari can’t get drunk as a werejaguar?

It's because of their regenerative abilities! It's the same with all shifters, including werejaguars so yes, Khari also cannot get drunk

Where do humans go after death? To heaven, hell? Why couldn't Lucifer go to the Underworld to see MC's mother?

And what happens to the Nephilin when they die?

Humans can either go to the normal Underworld or one of the Nine Circles of Hell. It all depends on their actions in life. Heaven is where the Creator resides along with the Angels. Nephilim are similar to Angels in that when they die, they fall to Earth as shooting stars and become part of the cosmos. Some even become constellations.

As for Lucifer, it will be mentioned in Chapter One but the reason Lucifer fell from grace is that he tried to bring Thais back from the dead, kind of similar to the the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice (in this universe, the myth was inspired by what Lucifer did)

Hi!!! I was wondering…how human can mc be? For example; would they be able to cry? 🤔

Okay so in the beginning of the story, MC doesn't know they're an android--and the scientists/engineers who were involved in the project made sure that MC wouldn't know, ever. So they thought of everything that a human would do, and did their best to install technologies that could replicate those functions. So, MC probably has artificial tear ducts for "crying" and so on.

I am planning on giving the player options to appear more human or more robotic as the story progresses, once I figure out how to code that.

Another example: Angel and B2 are both androids like MC, but they know it. Angel personally disabled some humanly functions in their system, like getting drunk, and installed robotic functions, like superhuman vision. B2 has a more "calculating" brain system.
