Very Brief Clans Overview
Figured I should have a sooort of explanation post so people don't get too lost regarding lore things, especially because I hope to actually draw out more Lore Important Things at some point or another hehe.
This is just a quick breakdown of each clan in development so far. The titles of each will have a link to their tag on my blog if you'd like to view posts pertaining to That Clan!
Starting, of course, with:
Tumblr media
The Incompetence
Nestled in a gorge along the Scarred Wastelands' shores, the Incompetence is a ragtag bunch of losers led by an arrogant fae named Patience. Said fae is hellbent on the idea of Fate, claiming he is the universe's specialiest boy of all time, and any that follow him are special as well. The dragons who come here do so under the assumption they are not fit to survive in the Wastelands' treacherous landscape. They are the weak, old, and battered. Surely they are not meant to see another day in this cruel existence, and they will die solemn, bitter, and alone. ...But due to some miracle, they've all gone on to live peacefully here. Together. Alive.
Perhaps there is something to our wacky leader's obsession with Fate...
[many more clans below!]
Tumblr media
The Loyalty
And these are the antagonists.
The Loyalty is an old clan with a history spanning back centuries. Born out of nothing but unadulterated respect and servitude to the Plaguebringer, the Loyalty is a ruthless place that has only worsened over time, and any who disrespect them will meet the cruelest of punishments.
While originally a respectable bunch, the lot has grown merciless over the past few decades, with worse and worse dragons taking the mantle of leader. Our current leader is Cletus, a vindictive aberration dead set on making the Loyalty as vicious as possible.
All I'm saying is, steer clear of the Wyrmwound. There are beasts under there.
Tumblr media
Wandering Threads
The Threads are a traveling group of veilspun led by Nootka. The swarm acts as one massive family, both literally and metaphorically (because nearly everyone involved is part of a big polygamous relationship), and honestly they're just having a great time.
Well, like, save for one horrible encounter with the Loyalty that happened recently. But don't worry about it.
Tumblr media
Shadows of Doubt
You wanna commit thievery and have it go so wrong we start replacing our blood with liquid gold? Well come on over to the Foxfire Brambles and join us Shadows! ...Uh. I mean. Actually, don't worry about the liquid gold blood thing. Only Penumbra did that. Gloom, the other leader, is very normal in comparison. And disregard the infestation of bug fae. We're pretty normal here.
We just like to commit theft for these two silly siblings. Don't even worry about it.
Tumblr media
Acolytes of the Arcanist
A mad-scientist prophet in the Starwood Strand has decided that the Arcanist's goals of reaching the heavens and controlling the universe sound really great, actually! Why don't we do that together? Through the limitless bounds of science, we will reach the stars and own them ourselves.
And won't you join us? The stars in your wings shine so... beautifully... :)
Tumblr media
[REDACTED]
Everyone in this clan is canonically dead by the present day. All you need to know about it is that we tried so hard, and got so far. But in the end, it didn't even matter. Arcane and Light just can't get along for more than two minutes.
(we started a civil war not clickbait gone wrong. etc.)
Tumblr media
The Adherence
Nolan is NOT the leader of the Adherence. I just don't have the leader(s) yet. So for now he's representing this place. Which is fitting enough, honestly.
The Adherence is a city of pearlcatchers that is currently flourishing somewhere in the Sunbeam Ruins. Don't ask me where, exactly. I just know it's in there. They run a very strict society where only light-inborn pearlcatchers can garner any amount of respect. Should you be born of a different flight, or worse, a different breed... You may come in, but you'll get a lot of scorn for it.
Unless you're an imperial. Then you're out of luck. Except for this really nice, not at all suspicious guy named Nolan who is offering you a peaceful sanctuary if you'll just follow him this way.
Tumblr media
Excessive Library Damage
Ok, that's not the name of the clan. It just doesn't really have a name. Not yet.
Anyway, this is a crew of Aethers that crash-landed into the Wastelands, managing to break right through the surface of Sornieth's soil and into an ancient, abandoned library. Likely filled to the brim with incredible history of Sornieth that has been long since forgotten. And countless priceless artifacts.
...Oh. Nevermind. Oh, it's... it's all gone.
------------------------------------------------
SMALL GROUPS WHO AREN'T REALLY FULL-FLEDGED CLANS (YET, IN SOME CASES) BUT ARE STILL WORTH MENTIONING:
Tumblr media
Twisted Waters
A pirate dies. Then she un-dies. It turns out the eldritch creature in the ocean, who is interested primarily in spiting her husband, has chosen this pirate to become queen of an underwater kingdom. And that pirate MUST get EVERYONE in the kingdom to love the eldritch beast unconditionally.
Because while the Tidelord may have abandoned you, Twist never will <3
Tumblr media
Snow Shower Town
There's like multiple different plots happening here. But what's important is that this is MOSTLY based in a small town within the Icefields, wherein a bunch of dragons of varying flights are chilling and hanging out while trying not to die in the regular blizzards.
Also there's like. An ice witch nearby, but you can ignore her, she's totally not important.
Tumblr media
William's Day Out
AHH. The Horrors...
William is a normal guy. The haunted baby is a normal baby. Lutka is a normal guy. The four siblings are all normal. Don't worry about it. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THE WISPWILLOW GROVE. I mean what who said that
Tumblr media
Girl's Night
Hey, what happens in girls night stays in girls night, okay?
------------------------------------------------
EXTRAS
Out in the Worldedge Wetlands there's a very sad old man and an old woman who goes "take better care of yourself, old man" and he goes "no i'm depressed." There are vaguely understood nature clan(s?) nearby.
I have in mind a group of Coatls who live in the shadow territory somewhere, but it's VERY loosely defined.
Freaky undead thing hanging out in the rubble of the Hewn City is freaky and undead (NOT an emperor this time)
There's a wanted criminal wandering around in the wastelands but you can ignore him. The person who matters is the Woman he has convinced to join his cause and has since begun eating people
And that's all for now! check back for inevitably 1 million updates.

For the FR lore asks: Peregrin sounds like an interesting creature, wanna tell us more about her? DHow did Diciassette and Cymbeline become friends?
On Peregrin:
Tumblr media
Do you ever buy a dragon for an accent and intend to give them lore but just... never do? At least not expansive lore? Peregrin is that.
She's a cryptic figure around the Starwood Strand. Angelic at first glance, but it's clear she's not entirely that, so what is she then? Paradisium isn't sure. Folks figure she's a little bit like Angel, since it's somehow able to talk with her (Peregrin doesn't speak the common draconic language; "triangles" is a placeholder for something more incomprehensible). And Angel's a demon (I promise that makes sense if you look at its lore). So maybe Peregrin is one, too? Not from its world, though. She's something else, and that's all they know.
She doesn't really have a room in the clan. She has her perches of starwood near the entrance, and that makes her happy enough (but it doesn't make Seinaru, the actual starwood fairy of the clan, happy at all). She watches over them with curiosity and occasionally pokes her head in with a calming presence. She seemingly likes seeing Cerasus' workshop most.
On Sette and Cym's friendship:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Man, it's been a while since I've seen these two side-by-side. Their aesthetics are completely opposite of each other, but there's still similarities...
Them being friends was one of the first things I established with adding Cym to the lore, it seems. It didn't even start as anything grand- Sette just offered his room to sleep in on her first night of joining the clan. That was way before he had to worry about the demons, so he was a lot more open with his kindness. (Not to say he isn't open these days, but he is a lot more on guard.)
After that night, they bonded over being magic-focused. While Sette's on the route of being a cleric, Cym still encourages him however she can. And when Penumbra was founded, inspired by her magic techniques, Sette was one of the first to enroll to follow a similar route.

I honestly do not remember my lore roadmap from *checks notes* three or four years ago. I remember I had an interaction with Devolo, Emir, and Penumbra planned, but that's about it.
So now I'm thinking we do that interaction beginning of June 2020, the Halcyon/Aurelius wedding in Brightshine 2020, a confrontation with Aurelius' dad in July 2020, and then we might skip ahead to Trickmurk 2021 to start Elias' plotline, which may tie into Clan Blackthorn eventually due to...a certain something related to the royal family... :)
I'm still trying to decide if I even want Clan Blackthorn to be in the same canon as Feldspar. Feldspar has to adhere a bit more closely to certain canon info, such as dragons aging stupidly fast for breeding purposes, so that it can interact with other folks' clans. If Blackthorn is in another canon, though, I can establish the rules of that canon myself, which is certainly tempting.
On the other hand, Blackthorn's exodus and integration into Feldspar would take up loads of time between 2021 and now that I don't have solid lore for yet. I do still have Clan Imperator and Archbishop Agrippa's schemes to address, though, which may or may not be rather lengthy. We also need to find Aloysius and figure out what he's been up to since the Dominus kicked it.
On the other other hand, making Clan Blackthorn a separate canon means that I can make other clans in that canon that more closely follow what I feel fits draconic lore. (Again, the aging is a big one for me.)
Augh! I hate making decisions!

Penumbra’s satisfaction is palpable, and he feels the atmosphere in the den relax. “Don’t shy away from me, Mora,” she hums. “Let me see your eyes.”
He turns back to her now, though it is still difficult to look her in the face. But he pushes past his discomfort and obliges, if only to appease her. She sighs, visibly pleased.
“Such beautiful eyes,” she murmurs. “More so than even others from your birthflight.. Did you steal them, perhaps?” and though the notion is ridiculous, Mordred finds himself unable to answer.

It's been a while since I last posted anything, but (un)fortunately, I'm Back On My Bullshit™ and had been in a Mario mood for a while, so I went back to touch up on Bowser's wife again.
Wisteria's initial designs always bothered me, even with the updated version. So after a couple days of deliberation and experimentation, I decided to just forgo trying to mimic the traditional Mario style and stuck with my own. And I'm much more pleased with the results this time around.
Despite being a dragon-koopa, Wisteria comes from a subspecies where the dragon half of their bloodline is more prominent, hence the slimmer build. They're also more magically attuned, as opposed to Bowser's lineage being more bulky and tanky.
I even revamped her bio as well - for those interested, there's more about her - as well as some more theories and headcanons -under the cut c:
(And big shoutouts to @smartass-gamer for helping me refine the lore and timeline for her bio and @earthsong9405 for being the inspiration to refine Wisteria's design! o/)
Please do not repost my artwork without my permission, but reblogs are always welcome.
Wisteria is the last remaining of her subspecies of magic dragon-koopa, as well as the last surviving heir of the old and mostly forgotten Penumbra Kingdom.
The kingdom of Penumbra was established in what is now known as the Darklands (not Dark Land which is under Bowser's rule), which is a dark and barren landscape devoid of life, even the stars don't shine there.
Penumbra was a kingdom ruled by a pair of dragon-koopas, in which they and their people were shunned and exiled by the other peoples of the realm for not being born under the blessings of the stars (Penumbra was the original home for various species such as shadow sirens, dark boos, duplighosts, and so on before they scattered across the realm). And in such, they revered the Dark Star, as it was the only entity that heard their prayers and wishes.
The peoples of Penumbra seemed content, but in actuality, they were angry; They all had intense contempt and hatred for the peoples in the other kingdoms for shunning them, and eventually their hatred came to a head.
Under the influence of the Dark Star, the king started a war against the other kingdoms. But they didn't seek dominion over them; Under the Dark Star's influence, they sought to wipe out the other kingdoms and peoples, wanting to enshroud them realm in darkness and snuff out the light of the stars. Seeing the immense threat to them, King Toadstool and Koopa King Bruce called a truce and formed an alliance to fight against the peoples of Penumbra.
The war lasted years, neither side relenting and both sides suffering immense losses. Other kingdoms would soon join the alliance, as Penumbra's campaign began to spread to other kingdoms outside of the Koopa and Mushroom kingdoms. Eventually, the Sprites were able to seal the Dark Star away, and in a rage for their fallen god, the people of Penumbra fought on more brutally with the mindset of having nothing else to lose.
Soon, a unanimous decision fell on the council of kingdoms that the kingdom of Penumbra had to either be sealed or wiped entirely, and since the people still wanted war, they opted for the latter.
Bruce, the Koopa King of the time, fought Penumbra's king head on while the collective forces of the Mushroom, Beanbean and Sarasland pushed back the remaining army to the city proper, where they proceeded to level the kingdom. Not long after, news of their king falling in battle reached their ears, causing them to - albeit reluctantly - surrender.
With the Dark Star sealed away, their king dead and the kingdom itself destroyed, it seemed to be the closing arc of Penumbra...but, in actuality, it wasn't.
What the alliance failed to realize was that the queen was spirited away by her retainers, as she was carrying their heir. As the cinders of war began to settle, the queen soon birthed an egg that had been touched by the Dark Star. However, the birth consumed the last of the queen's energy, where she soon died not long after. Of the two retainers that were with her, only one would live long enough to see that the egg hatch.
And that retainer happened to be an old dark boo by the name of Beauregard.

Lair Review for JuniaEnigma
@juniaenigmafr - 10 dragons
First impressions: I love the idea of a Plague clan serving as a pit stop for travelers of the Scarred Wasteland. It’s nice to know that even in a placed called a Wasteland, there’s still friendly faces!
1.
Tumblr media
I decided to check out your hibernal den first, since I know it’s easy to miss some really wonderful dragons when they’re tucked away in there.
All permababies have a special place in my heart and I especially love nocturne babies. I think they’re some of he cutest in the game. I like how Penumbra showcases their goat eyes. I love the goat eyes, but it is sad that it’s so hard to see them on many of the adult dragons.
I won’t lie, Penumbra looks a little spooky with their Plague goat eyes and dark coloration. The savannah and safari genes really help up the spook factor too. But that’s exactly why they caught my eye!
10/10 a good little spooky dragon
2.
Tumblr media
Sugarplum looks very sweet! I can see how they got their name! Pinstripe, bee, and glimmer bubblegum all go very nicely together for a candy theme! You also dressed them up very nicely. All of the different purples mesh really well on this dragon. i like the usage of different apparel sets too. It’s a very unique, yet cohesive outfit!
3.
Tumblr media
Remember what I said about permababies? Yeah that’s why this little guy got my attention. With their blue and white coloration and pink blossoms, they make me think of a nice spring day. They really are deserving of their name, Hope, because looking at them makes me feel peaceful and happy.
The faceted eyes are a bit spooky though, but I like that. It makes me feel like there’s a lot more to Hope than there is at first glance.
4.
Tumblr media
Nox? I love Nox. Absolute perfection. Everything I want in a drgon. Mirror? check. Permababy? Check. shadow primal? Check. Purble? Check. Effervescent.
Oh and that lore? Very cute and sweet. Good stuff. I wish only the best for Nox.
5.
Tumblr media
I decided to review Oskar next since he was in Nox’s bio. I want to poke his little tummy. Coatl hatchling art is just too cute, and the glimmer on Oskar’s tum just makes him even cuter. His rare eyes are really pretty. I think Plague has the best rare eyetype. I also love that he’s a bookworm and is best friends with Nox!
6.
Tumblr media
Casiope radiates power. She looks like someone that I wouldn’t want to see the bad side of. And reading her lore, it appears I got the right impression of her! Still it’s sad that she was an outcast for a little while. Poor Casiope :(
Vaako better not hurt her any more than he already has.
7.
Tumblr media
*eyes emoji* Iku? Fantastic and wonderful! Extremely pretty. How do I begin breaking down what I love about Iku so much?
I guess I could start with the accent. It is beautiful and i want it. I think bones and feathers look really cool so.. yeah. Beautiful accent for a beautiful boy. I love that he collects bones too.
And then how that accent is layered over genes like bee and capsule makes it look like... ethereal I guess is the word i’m looking for? Idk how to describe it, but it’s a really cool effect.
8.
Tumblr media
I know, I know I’ve picked a lot of your permababies but you just have so many good ones. Stitched, patchwork, and ghost are some of my favorite genes and when they’re all together  they create the right amount of spooky. Ramie is the perfect amount of cute and creepy and I love them for that. What a doll.
9.
Tumblr media
I took one look at Fey and went “Wow! Halloween vibes!” and then I looked at their hatch date and yeah. Yeah that’s perfect. I love this Halloweeny Halloween tun. What a wonderful rep for my favorite holiday.
10.
Tumblr media
And I’ll end my review with this guy. Brynden looks very intimidating! They’re not someone I would want to see while alone and in the dark. Everything from the goat eyes to the ram horns to being a blood xxy to the rusty cleaver just screams “Do not mess with me”. I love this dude and the danger vibes they give off.

Do you have any podcast recommendations? I've listened to tma, wolf359, the penumbra podcast, and like...half of night vale. You seem like you'd know some good ones!
!!!
I Am In Eskew is an absolute all-time favorite of mine! It’s very firmly horror, but not tragedy. Think… WTNV but 1. on a personal scale, 2. actually terrifying, and 3. not benign. It follows David Ward, inhabitant of the city Eskew, as he chronicles some of the terrifying stuff that happens to him. Eventually, we hear from Riyo Dulae, a private investigator who’s been pulled into Eskew’s orbit. It uses place-as-horror in an astonishing way! It’s a finished product with 30 episodes and the ending is honestly amazing. I’ve listened to it several times. It’s very good. Listen to it. Please.
This got long, so the rest of the recommendations are under the cut, and in no particular order! (Eskew is absolutely my top recommendation lol) Particularly sad endings and ongoing series are specified.
Janus Descending is a finished and relatively short sci-fi horror series. It follows two xenoarcheologists (archeologists for aliens) as they inspect the site of an abandoned alien civilization. It’s told in inverse chronological order, alternating between Chel and Peter’s perspectives. Chel’s is chronological, while Peter’s is backwards. It’s an amazing format and keeps you suspended in the mystery up until the very end! It is a tragedy, though, and has a sad ending.
ars PARADOXICA is an audio drama about time-travel and the Cold War. The synopsis is this: scientist Sally Grissom accidentally creates time travel, is transported back to the Cold War, and is entwined with a clandestine branch of the US government. It’s 3 seasons long- and I will say that if you’re not good with differentiating voices I recommend either listening to it without stopping for a long period and/or reading along to transcripts. The plot is intricate but engaging and the large cast of characters each has their own unique personality. Plus: canon ace main character (as in she says she’s asexual! in canon!), a Jewish lesbian semi-main character, a mlm (bi?) man of color side-character, and several other characters of color.
Mabel is an ongoing horror podcast with elements of fae/fairy lore and the place-as-horror theme. It’s not as outright horror as TMA, Eskew, or Janus Descending, it’s much more atmospheric? It’s several seasons in, with the next season currently in production. It follows Anna Limon, who is an in-home caretaker, trying to contact Mabel Martin, the granddaughter of the woman Anna is caring for. It has lots of wlw, lots of moral ambiguity, beautiful prose, and lots and lots of fae.
Zero Hours is a 7 episode long anthology series by the creators of Wolf 359. Each episode deals with “the end of the world - or at least something that feels like the end of the world.” There’s 99-year intervals between episode and it starts in the past and ends in the far future. It’s honestly stunning and was well worth listening to in it’s entirety when it dropped (and subsequently staying up past midnight).
The Bright Sessions is… kinda urban fantasy? The official synopsis is that TBS is a “science fiction podcast that follows a group of therapy patients. But these are not your typical patients - each has a unique supernatural ability. The show documents their struggles and discoveries as well as the motivations of their mysterious therapist, Dr. Bright.” (I tried explaining but was having a tricky time) The characters are amazingly written and unique. (And no, it doesn’t fall into the “evil therapist” idea, in case you were worried) One of the main characters is gay (and it isn’t a throwaway line). It has good and realistic representation of mental illnesses: a main character as a panic/anxiety disorder, another has PTSD, another has depression, and so on. The main show is finished but there’s a spin off that’s being made. Specifically happy ending!
Alice Isn’t Dead is a horror podcast by the creators of Night Vale. It follows Keisha, a trucker, who is looking for her wife, Alice. Keisha encounters many strange things as she drives back and forth across America, including murderous almost-human monsters, places that are stuck out of time, and a nation spanning conspiracy. It encompasses the whole… atmosphere of middle-of-nowhere America perfectly. It’s a complete story with a novel form (haven’t had the pleasure of reading it, though). Main character is wlw, and Alice is not dead.
Limetown is a horror podcast. It follows reporter Lia Haddock as she investigates the mystery of Limetown- a town in Tennessee where over 300 people disappeared overnight, never to be heard from again. It’s finished…? I think the podcast is finished but a book and a Facebook miniseries are in development? Anyways. Sad ending. I loved the first season a lot, the second season is good too though!
The Adventure Zone isn’t an audio drama, instead it’s an actual-play show of Dungeons and Dragons (and D&D like systems). The McElroy brothers and their dad host it, and are frankly absolutely hilarious. TAZ: Balance is the first season and starts as a classic d&d game but turns into an amazing and heart wrenching story with beautiful prose and music. And also 69 jokes. TAZ:B is honestly one of the most emotionally impacting stories I’ve ever heard. It has an amazingly happy and hopeful ending. Includes: casual lgbt rep and a late game but major character is a trans woman! I’ve heard good things about the recently finished season TAZ: Amnesty, although I haven’t finished it. There’s a new season, TAZ: Graduation, that started recently, and I’ve enjoyed the handful of episodes I’ve listened to! Currently ongoing, but tragic endings aren’t something that’s expected.
I haven’t finished/caught up with these, but I’ve enjoyed them: Sayer (sci-fi. think menacing capitalist Night Vale in space, heard s3/s4 are really good), The Bridge (horror, alternate modern day. follows a watchpost on a bridge that crosses the Atlantic), The Orbiting Human Circus (from the people at WTNV. surreal fiction. hard to explain). I feel like there’s more but I can’t remember any atm.
I’m also gonna point you towards @theradioghost‘s blog and her podcast recs tag. Her taste is amazing and I haven’t disliked a single show I’ve tried. (Also, check out her show, Midnight Radio! It’s the next thing on my to-listen list.)

Podcast Recs 2019
Hey there! I’ve updated my list of podcast recommendations for 2019. This includes anything from my top favorites to stuff I haven’t gotten around to listening to yet! For a more up to date version of this list, please go here.
 * = Favorite! ! = Caught Up # = In progress + = Need to listen
Fiction: *! Wolf 359: Starts off as a goofy space station slice-of-life comedy and spirals into something way, way deeper. Great characters, fantastic plot, and a really great concept overall. *# The Penumbra Podcast: A couple different plots, but primarily a futuristic space noir story. Really cheesy but in the best way, also super LGBT and fantastic and it just makes me so happy. # Beef and Dairy Network Podcast: Just a completely normal podcast about the inner workings of the beef and dairy industry. Nothing weird here, not at all. # Hello From The Magic Tavern: A podcast transmitted from the magical land of Foon! Really chill and funny improvised stuff # King Falls AM: A fun paranormal radio show sort of deal. I’m not far in enough to describe it better. # EOS 10: Doctors in space! It’s gay and funny and suspenseful, I adore the hell out of the writing.  # The Bright Sessions: Superhero therapy! Incredible character building, really cool show. # Within the Wires: I’m only an ep in and uh. I have no fucking clue what’s happening but it’s cool as shit so far.  # Everything Is Alive: A podcast where a guy interviews inanimate objects! It’s interesting and fun. *# Welcome to Nightvale: A classic! A radio show in a desert town that’s much odder than it seems.  # Done Disappeared: A parody of true-crime investigation podcasts. Dumb and funny.
+ Jim Robbie and the Wanderers + Dopple Avenue Hurt + The Thrilling Adventure Hour + Wooden Overcoats + Ars Paradoxica + The Far Meridian + The Strange Case of Starship Iris + Girl In Space + Inkwyrm + Immunities + Mission to Zixx +Kaleidotrope +Midnight Radio
Horror: *# The Magnus Archives: Jonathan Sims, head archivist of a paranormal research institute in London, reads the statements of people who have experienced horrifying things. Things go south very quickly for him and his assistants. HEAVY trigger warning, since it includes lots of the typical horror things such as gore, bugs, cannibalism, etc, but if you can handle it, I highly recommend this show. The writing and characters are so good. *! SCP Archives: Performed readings of different SCP stories. If you like SCP, this show is really good! # Alice Isn’t Dead: A fantastic spooky adventure with a gal trucking across the U.S. to find her missing wife! Made by the Nightvale folks, and it’s really intriguing and well produced. # The NoSleep Podcast: Different horror stories from r/nosleep, acted and read aloud. Varies in quality, but is generally pretty good! Gets better in the later seasons. # Limetown: A well-known faux-journalism horror story. The first season is very good, I haven’t listened to the second yet. # Mabel: It’s been a while since I listened to this one, so I don’t remember much other than it being very, very spooky. # The Black Tapes: The ending isn’t good, but the rest was great. They’re apparently continuing, so hopefully the ending will be fixed.
+ The Blood Crow Stories + The Alexandria Archive + TANIS + Rabbits D&D/Actual Play: *! The Adventure Zone: Look. You know this one. An actual-play podcast that starts off slow and picks up really quickly. 80% comedy, 20% plot, and 100% amazing. Balance is the first campaign and is D&D and a mix of fantasy and sci-fi. *# Critical Role: I’ve been riding with this show for years now, but I haven’t actually listened to the podcast format of it! The show itself is fantastic though, so I’m still recommending it. Follow the in-progress D&D adventure of a bunch of great voice actors. Sorta the flip of TAZ, in that it’s like 80% plot and 20% comedy. Also 100% crying. Their first campaign is complete, and they’re currently partially through their second. # Godsfall: A pretty rules-heavy DND podcast. Really really well produced. # Friends At The Table: Not really far in enough to make much judgement! + Heroes and Halfwits + Tabletop Champions + Join the Party + Dames & Dragons + Bombarded + The Mortal Path + Dnduet + The Venture Maidens + The Broad Swords + Six Feats Under
Nonfiction: # Wonderful!: Happy and pure, Griffin and Rachel Mcelroy talk about things that make them happy. I enjoy listening to random episodes when I need a pick-me-up. # Oh No, Ross and Carrie!: Ross and Carrie go around and investigate different fringe science, paranormal, and spiritual things. They’re super fun to listen to! + The Worst Bestsellers + Jay & Miles X-Plain the X-Men + Mysterious Universe + Bunker Buddies + Imaginary Worlds + Conversations With People Who Hate Me + Dead Pilots Society + Harry Potter and the Sacred Text + Storybreak + Shmanners + Positiviteeny! + Still Buffering + The Supermega Podcast Comedy: *# My Brother, My Brother, and Me: Really good goofs and advice from the Mcelroy brothers. It’s so good. # Sawbones: Medical history with Sydnee and Justin Mcelroy! Sydnee is an actual doctor, so it’s a wonderful combo of dumb humor and really good information. # My Dad Wrote A Porno: Title kind of says it all. Very, very funny. + What Should We Draw? + Revisionist History + Hardcore History + More Perfect + Making a Podcast with Myself True Crime/Supernatural: *# My Favorite Murder: True crime and murder stories, as told by some very cool and funny ladies. They’re like my goth comedian moms. # Heaven’s Gate: A podcast about the cult Heaven’s Gate. Only 10 episodes, really interesting and well produced. # Lore: I listened to this forever ago and loved it! Really good paranormal and spooky stories. # And That’s Why We Drink: Em and Christine talk about the paranormal and true crime while getting drunk and chatting about their lives! They have a great dynamic and it’s just a fun comfy show to listen to. + Judge John Hodgman +Spirits + Blurry Photos + Expanded Perspectives + Wine and Crime + Cabinet of Curiosities Journalism:

Lair Review for @starsetfr
(A Part of my Apparel for Reviews System)
Under a cut because I wrote a lot lol.
Starset Lair Link
Right off the bat, I absolutely adore the way you’ve set up the tab description! I honestly might use that concept because my main tab is currently all dedicated to who is on what page instead of like the main clan aesthetic. Your lore sounds really cool too! I love the vibe of a vacation town omg that’s so cute.
I really like your bio setups! They’re very simplistic but the information is all easily accessible. The inclusion of the lil emojis in Threadfin’s bio made me smile – they are so adorable. The aesthetic of the first page is so nice and I love the mixtures of blues and browns. I like this little family unit of Threadfin / Tetra and their kids. And wow! Owen looks fantastic, and I love the little “drippy eyes….” Comment in her bio lol.
Betta’s colors are so pleasing to look at. I love the mixture of the bright colors and the way his apparel matches and compliments his accent.  It’s amazing how you’ve managed to give all these first page dragons a ‘watery’ aesthetic while still managing to make them all look like individuals.
Sardonyx’s colors and apparel are all so pleasing to look at, and his accent is such a perfect match that it took me a while to notice it. I love how the spine in the accent is matched with the rusted metal of his apparel. His lore was very interesting and led me to go and check out Galford.
Omg Galford…. I love him. His lore is so interesting and I am smitten with this angsty, bitter old man. The line at the end about him noticing that the town became a tourist destination made me chuckle. I legit just can’t get over exactly how much I love him.
I’m always here for purple dragons, and Tendril is just gorgeous. I especially love the layering of the daredevil cover and the linen head wrap. It’s just such a good look. The brightness of plum alloy against his more dark tone is so eye-catching… We love to see it. The way the black fabric of the white raven armor covers up a good portion of the bright plum also just looks really neat and I love it. Plum Ghost is just barely noticeable and I really adore the way it peeks out from beneath the head coverings.
Sunshine looks so bright and cheerfully and I feel like I love her. The concept of a shell shop is so stinkin’ cute omg, and I adore her cute lil accent and the shells it gives her. The few pieces of apparel on her look great too, and I love that you’ve left most of her naked so that her accent can shine.
Thulian caught my eye immediately with her purple and green color scheme and I really love her lore. She makes me feel sad for her and she sounds so sweet :( . I always love seeing that accent because my custom progen also wears it! Funnily enough, my progen actually used to be a tree before she was transformed into a dragon by a ‘strange mage’ (well, he used to be a mystery, and then he turned up and everyone realized he was a bit of a dork). I feel like the two of them would get along.
Ohohohooh…. Hollow has such a perfect aesthetic I have chills. I love them. I adore the way their brown / earthy tones are being ‘taken over’ by his icy apparel. All in all it just looks fantastic.
Evika’s apparel is so cool and from the small amount of lore she has I already love her. I actually really love how her apparel doesn’t match her colors and instead adds an entirely new element. The Thresher Flatfins are such a neat apparel item that I haven’t used yet but Evika looks stunning in it. I love the purple tones on her apparel and just her entire look…
Yaeshaun’s wings are the best thing I’ve ever seen in my life. For lots of colors I dislike Iri/Shim but Cyan Shimmer is an absolute stunner. I adore the brightness of them contrasted with his monotone prim and tert. The way the roundhorns match the bright cyan colors is just amazing. His outfit really fits his role too, which is something I personally struggle with in my own lair! Overall just a gorgeous lil man.
Bet you’d never imagined that a shadow lair would immediately gravitate towards Penumbra, huh? She’s so gorgeous that I am almost speechless. I love the mixture of apparel that you’ve used and the layering. It creates such an amazing aesthetic and really just solidifies her shadow-y aesthetic. I was shocked to see her bio say her role is a healer but I really love that! What a great contrast between her look and her lore, and I’d love to know more about her :D
From Penumbra directly to Canidae we go! Gosh, I adore when people mix colors from different sections of the color wheel and I especially love the mix of greens and golds that she has. Peacock Capsule is absolutely gorgeous and I love how you can see it peeking out from under her clothes. Spruce Trail really compliments it well and stops her golden aesthetic from becoming overpowering. I love that all of her apparel is gold-based and contrasts against her secondary / tertiary, and the way you’ve added the obsidian roundhorns to compliment the black candles is masterful.
When I saw Ahkalone I immediately remembered Galford’s lore and clicked on him so fast. His colors and apparel? Fantastic. Love it all. Now onto the lore… oh gosh… I love this story and I’m so invested in them lol. When I read about the ring in Galford’s bio I didn’t expect to get to know who it theoretically belonged to but then I did and my appreciated for Canidae just went through the roof. Ahkalone sounds like such a cool character that I’d love to hate in a way lol.
Trenchdust’s entire aesthetic and overall look? Top tier. Also I love the little bit in his bio lol it’s so relatable for when I’m trying to nail down and character’s role or what they do. The way the ghost hands peek out from under the feathered wing and are only really visible where they are reaching out beyond him is also just awesome looking and something I don’t think I’ve seen done before.
No dragon with orchid or mint will go uncomplimented in my presence! Alaurun is an absolute stunner. I love all of her colors and the way her genes work with them. The learned sage apparel matched with the main mint color so well and gives her such an otherworldly aesthetic.
*deep breath* LUCKY is FANTASTIC. I love me some spirals, and I love the rot look she has going on. She sounds like such a diva and I absolutely love it. Her apparel is so well layered and really adds to her look along with her genes. Just overall such a great looking dragon.
Discordium is stunning and that’s all there is to it. I love the way wine tapir looks and it was honestly shocking to me that he wasn’t an xxy dragon! His colors match so well together and I just love his apparel. The pinks all tie together and he looks so good. His lore is really cool too! I’m all about things like that and he seems so interesting!

The grouping of the Magne-Ge
I was recommended a text by an anonymous user that I found incredibly interesting. It’s an obscure text speaking of the Magne-Ge, which is amazing considering we have little to no lore on them. Keep in mind this is a Kirkbride text so it has to be taken with a grain of salt and may not reflect events in game, and may not be considered ‘canonical’ but is interesting nonetheless.
Before I discuss the topics covered within the writing itself, It’s important to understand the Magne-Ge or Star Orphans. They are the ‘children’ of Magnus, the architect of Mundus, and primordial Aedric Spirits. After they realized Lorkhan’s trickery they fled, tearing holes in oblivion, allowing the light and magic of Aetherius to shine unto Nirn. I often find that lore involving these involves a lot of physics terminology, often involving light.
That in mind, the first thing that jumps out to me is the name Master Redshift. (For terminology, redshifting is an increase in the light’s wavelength, similar to how the pitch of a siren on an ambulance changes as it moves closer or further.) This text notes him as one of the denizens who mapped the Magne-Ge. Due to his title of master, and the concept of Redshifting (in very brief terms, the further away something is the redder it appears, and the older the light is because of the time needed to get here.) we could deduce he’s an older Magna-Ge.
He records the groupings of Magna-Ge. The Filters, Chromes, Penumbras (Terminology: The shadow the earth makes on the moon, allowing the phases to happen) and the Capricious Glows. The text then delves into a recap of birthsigns and how the Magne-Ge give certain birthsigns power.
C Signs: A classification of destructive, and extinct Magne-Ge. Here is the first mention of Merid-Nunda, it speaks of how she held against their erasure without success. Spirits discussed here are Bare-Bone, an agricultural spirit and a handmaiden to Merid-Nunda. Bare-Bone disappeared after a war that i’ll discuss later and hid underground. Nil-Bright, I’ll speak of him later. Wode-Rub, a spirit of new ideas or omnivores, this spirit was banished for it’s chaotic nature and may correlate with white light, something that’s noted as highly prized. Pigmus, a spirit of the pigment involved with the war.
Blend Signs: Due to the phrasing, I believe that this refers to signs in between the main birth signs, Warrior, Mage and Thief. Spirits include Scintil, a young messenger for Merid-Nunda. Caker-King, a spirit involved with cats, could have a connection to the Khajiit but that’s not my area of expertise so I can’t say for sure. Swath, a spirit of hallucinogenic. It mentions she has a daughter that is not Magne-Ge, but who may be. I find this interesting as it indicates stars can be formed later on. Daubella, a highly respected spirit.
K Signs: Young and ferocious spirits, who haven’t quite found themselves. Thermallélé, a spirit that has shifted forms quite often and has many names, a trickster spirit. AgNil-Bright, a young spirit and the twin to Nil-Bright of C, both spirits are young warriors, Nil-Bright protecting boarders between the signs and AgNil-Bright protecting against monsters. Clan-Box, once Merid-Nunda’s jester, now a spirit of indecisiveness. Mnethm, the fount of inspiration, she has a temple underground and is described as young. I believe this is Mnemo-li, just under another name, due to her title of fount of inspiration (similar to Sotha Sil’s light of inspiration title, whom she is connected to.) She is also associated with motivation and scientific progress.
M Signs: Willful, yet rash. They are irresponsible, willful and silly. Merid-Nunda, also known as Meridia. She was cast out by Magnus and her role in Magne-Ge history erased. She foretold a war, known as the Breaking and attempted to stop it. Caller, attempted to help the Magne-Ge adapt to Dragon Breaks. Leλ, a spirit that attempted to stop the war, indicated as a belching advisor. Phophec, a shitty warrior. That’s it that's all about him.
Y-Signs: Corrupt signs who don’t know what to do with themselves. Got into a war with C and M, who were fighting each other. Mnumbrial, a motherly spirit, once powerful but lost power due to the curse. Mnender-Foil, son of Mnumbrial, somewhat of a celebrity among the Magne-Ge. Scarab-Framer, the one great alchemist of Merid-Nunda, who lost his mind due to the curse. Threadwright, the leader of the Y-Signs and a general of the war.
Other mentioned spirits: Nana-Null, a chaotic entity that cursed the Y-signs. Mnemoli is also mentioned in this text, but again I believe that Mnethm is the same as her.
The War: This text doesn’t detail much of it, and what is told is spread out erratically. From what I can glean, Merid-Nunda was a high ranking spirit, daughter to Magnus. After some deed (which I have discussed in other theories) her father cast her out and purged history of her accomplishments. She foretold the Breaking, or the war between the C, M and Y signs. She was a general in the war, gathering warriors against the Y signs.

27, 38, 66 for Cosmo?
Tumblr media
It's the professor's time to shine!
27 (What is their biggest strength?): Cosmo has a pretty good ability to seek out those with immense magical potential (and these dragons often become his students), so that can be considered his biggest strength. He's rarely, if ever, wrong in his judgement.
38 (What do others admire most about their personality?): His patience! Perhaps it comes with having 2 spirit-possessed sons (and one of those spirits can be especially chaotic at times), but no matter how long something may take he doesn't blow a fuse. The students of Penumbra really appreciate this.
66 (Where do they live? Do they like it there?): My lore only has the one clan, that being Paradisium, so he lives there; his old room makes up the Penumbra classroom, and his current room is next to that. He's pretty satisfied with the living conditions.

I just need to wrap up Isaiah’s mini-arc (one more post), and then I’m going to move on to a bit of development for Eileen, who is a very interesting little dragon. I won’t spoil anything here, but let’s just say Mergo is involved.
After that, we’ll be sliding on into some interactions between Emil and Penumbra, with a side of Devola and Penumbra’s erstwhile captor, the Shadowling. This’ll delve into some of my Shade headcanons as well.
Then we’re going to explore Oya and Ogun. I teased at their involvement with Fire’s BotE lore, and I’m going to expand upon that through Oya’s (previous) relationship with Calcifer. (Branwen is not going to be pleased when company arrives unannounced and uninvited.)
THEN it’ll finally be time for Aurelius and Halcyon’s wedding, and I may get around to the Big Confrontation between Dreamweaver and Aeternus, who some of you may remember as Aurelius’ disapproving father. That’s going to be fun to write, I do so love when Dreamweaver loses their temper.
After that, I’m hoping I’ll have enough of my Clan Blackthorn dragons assembled to start the exodus arc. I still need to grab all my SOMA fandragons too, but I’m not going to get into their lore until @nostlenne returns from the war, so Blackthorn comes first.
Aurelius and Halcyon’s wedding takes place during Brightshine Jubilee 2020, so that and everything before it will cover at least half of last year’s backlog. I anticipate that Clan Blackthorn’s predicament will easily cover the latter half of 2020. Then we’ll be (mostly) caught up.
Clan Imperator and the Warren are still chilling in the background, and the former might make a couple more appearances throughout the 2020 backlog. The Warren is out of commission for the time being; Eyja is doing some serious scheming, and I don’t want to interrupt her. Pros: we’ll get more Caesar lore. Cons: I’m going to hurt my boy.
Anyway, that’s what anyone who still reads my lore can expect in the foreseeable future. I still love FR, my dragons, and my lore, but writer’s block is one hell of a drug, so I’m infinitely grateful for y’all’s patience. :’)

Which fic has been the hardest to write?
Honestly, I'm torn between Into Shadows and Penumbra, but for completely different reasons. With Into Shadows, it's difficult because there's honestly so much I don't know or understand about Don't Starve. I know there's lore, but I have a hard time finding it and integrating it into my ideas in a way that makes sense.
Penumbra, on the other hand, ended up being difficult to write because I had lost motivation at the end, and kinda fell out of the RWBY hype - which made it even more difficult to finish.
Is there an episode above all others that inspires you to write more?
Out of all the episodes of any show I watch, I typically turn to The Dragon Prince, S3E3 - Ghost, for inspiration. It was by far one of the most emotional episodes in the series by far; and the scene where we see Runaan and his team place their flowers in the water? Poetic cinema-
