#lost all my icons ( not just chazz )
Text
Since I was tagged a while ago for a post I’ve done before, I figured I would make another one since I’ve seen one more Yugioh series than I had back then, so here’s the tag meme My first response can be found here
Tagged by: @asterism343 Since I’ve answered these before, my responses will be a lot simpler this time around
Favorite series: I may have changed my icon and my header, but it is still in fact GX. Arc-V is where my current main focus lies because I’m always thinking about aus that actually make use of the lost potential in Arc-V, but GX will always hold the spot at number one for me. Favorite protagonist: Still Jaden. Dumb baby boy deserves the world after what he went through in his series. He is good, despite his crimes. Favorite rival: It’s gotta be The Chazz (god kill me), but the runner up is still Shark for me. Love those dumb gay idiots who are only soft for their rivals. Favorite bff: It’s such a hard call between Joey and... Actually, who is supposed to be Yusei’s best friend? I always just assumed it was Crow because he’s definitely the nicer brother when it comes to him and Jack, but I guess it could also be Kiryu? Or Bruno? I legitimately had a hard time telling which boy was supposed to be placed into the archetype of best friend for that show, so I’ll be right back after a quick google search.
Tumblr media
Lmao this whore is not Yusei’s best friend- Anyways it’s a hard call between Joey and Crow when it comes to the best of the best friends, but I think I have to pick Crow once again. It’s a very close tie though.
Favorite girl: Sticking with Yuzu on this one tbh. I went through a few opinions on her over the course of Arc V, and I ended up just kinda wishing they’d let her do more. I can say with confidence she’s the main girl that has irked me the least, and I even kind of liked her as the show went on. She was just very underutilized past a certain point.
Favorite villain: This whore alien
Tumblr media
I’ve talked at length about Vector in several posts, and no I will not stop using “I’m positively dripping” whenever I get the chance to, thank you for asking. He remains my favorite villain in design and personality, but let it not be forgotten that I also 100% wish they had killed this bitch off. I love him, but I wish he were dead. It’s what he deserves.
Favorite card: Honestly? Right now my current favorite card is Cheer Mole!
Tumblr media
She just makes me really happy. Sweet shy mole baby that’s scared of people, but will perform when she’s gotta. I love her.
Favorite episode: I’m doing this by series, so here’s my list -Season 0: Episode 16: Turnabout by a Hair’s Breadth - The White-Robed Crisis -Duel Monsters: Season 5, episode 12-14: The Deciding Match for Duel King - Yugi vs. Leon/Golden Castle of Stromberg/KC Grand Prix Ends -GX: Season 3, episode 34: Dark Fusion! Inferno Wing!! -5Ds: Season 4, episode 2-3: Recollections, Entrusted with a Friend’s Dying Wish -Zexal II: Season 2, episode 5-6: Alito the Silent Fighter - Reunion of the Passionate Duelists!/ Be Revived! The Duelist Soul That Transcends Life!! -Arc-V: Season 1, episode 19-20: The Universe of Knowledge!! Eita Kyuando/A Difficult Question!? Attack Duel Quiz!!
Since the Arc-V ones are the only new addition here, I’m just gonna go ahead and say that it was admittedly hard for me to come up with an episode for this series. Most didn’t have a positive emotional impact on me as a whole- the episodes I Could think of either made me upset or angry (or they were the gay candyshipping ones in the beginning), so I had to scroll through the Arc-V anime channel in my Discord for ideas of what to pick. The quiz duels are some genuinely funny episodes that I would rewatch someday just to laugh. Yuya is really stupid in them and I get to hear him say “I want your lifespan?” in Japanese, and it’s just a good time all around. It’s simple, it’s fun, and it makes me laugh.
Favorite decks to use:  Elemental Heroes, Aromages, Red Eyes, Six Samurai, Gem Knights, and Crystal Beasts.
Fusion, ritual, synchro, Xyz, pendulum, or link: Fusion Freak and XYZ Scum
Years in fandom: ??? A mystery to all. Used to be big on Yugioh in middle school, wrote a couple fanfics, then I fell out of it until April of this year, 2020.
Who I’m tagging: @finding-fallen-stars (I know you’ve done this before but now we’ve both seen Arc-V, so maybe your thoughts on a favorite episode will be better than mine lmao), @yuki-motou, and @angelmelany

Day 05: “Pass the Salt”
Tumblr media
Dear Journal
As you know, I knew some pro duelist personally... well morel ike we know them cause they visited us a lot. Or more like, they tried to find Mister Judai on their days off, when they heard he was staying.
It happened often enough that we saw them thrice a year at the very least. Mister Andersen and Mister Judai also tell us some stories about them, so we know a few embarrassing facts about them.
One of them came up to mind this weekend, when Ebon dueled a girl using an Ojama deck.
During the third year of “The Thunder”, a name he insisted all us call him, he tried to take a shortcut through pro dueling as a meme duelist.
There are some meme duelist still around that are quite good, but the whole thing back then is that they loosed on purpose to make a fool of themselves and the game.
During that time he was forced to use an Ojama deck which had spirits.
It was very awkward for him since he didn’t tolerate them at all, he gave up soon after. Although not because of the spirits, but because he didn’t like soiling his pride as a duelist, he even won the match with the Ojama.
But he came back soon after with his iconic dragon deck.
Decoy teased him for days and Armed was very happy to be back in business with Chazz.
I personally don’t like the Ojamas design. and while I haven’t personally met the spirits, the way The Thunder described them doesn’t sound pleasing.
Oh also, Ebon lost, so he doesn’t like the cards either XD
Gonna go to sleep now, thanks for listening.
Signing out.
...
Okay Let’s begin with the headcanons and changes to the original plot.
Get rid of the Ojamas and change it to other spirits for Manjoume He didn’t even liked them from the start, and they don’t contribute with the plot over all. Their whole gimmick was that they were gross, but it wasn’t even funny once. I propose giving him Decoy Dragon and Armed Dragon LV 3 as his main spirits.
Draw or Win for Manjoume during the duel when he comes back from as representative of North Academy I know Judai is the main guy, but I think it would have been a better character development if he had refused to follow his brothers plan even after he had a draw or better yet, a win. Even defending the Duel Academy from their comment or something. We do have a follow up but it doesn’t count for me.
Let Judai move dorms or give us a good reason to keep him Red SO maybe some of you might not aggro on the first option, but he stayed as a Slifer for 4 seasons? I don’t believe it. Even if his writing part were bad, at that point he is the strongest duelist on the island, he should be Ra Yellow at least for the skills alone. Unless he losed more times during the first and second season I don’t believe it.
Let everyone else duel and don’t relay solely on Judai I think the battle of Zane against Camula proves it the best, sure he didn’t have any way to save Syrus, but either way, it seems like the show didn’t let anyone else shine or take the spotlight over Judai. Heck, during the last season, when Asuka, Jun, Fubuki and Asuka lackies are the last one in the academy, you know what they said? WE SHOULD WAIT AND HOLD ON FOR JUDAI TO COME AND SOLVE THE PROBLEM!!! The hell? Chazz can see spirits, you have someone capable and you can just say no to the duel or use violence, I would have done it.
Some unfinished plots... Johan has the Trapper, but it seems his problem was solved very quickly, also what was the deal with him, he lost the connection? How did that happen? Did he wanted to use the spirits for energy? If he lost the connection, shouldn’t he be unable to interact with the spirits at all? What about Atticus girlfriend? you know, the Gravekeeper Assassin, who apparently Judai got a crush on. She was there because of Darkness as far as I understood, but why wasn’t she in the Dark World like Fujiwara, or why she doesn’t appear ever again or mentioned? So much potential and yet...
Fate of Zane Trusdale So, I have seen several videos about GX and his story telling, but something that probably would have done good, even if the possibility broke my heart, was for Zane to actually die from heart attack, rather than being revived along side the others, and that the Cyber Dark deck was the responsable. It would have made for an emotional episode when the Jinzo user came after Zane and later Syrus.
I think that’s all, I’m very tired now, but I’ll be back with more.
Thanks for reading

Hello everybody!
We’re all back from last week’s company-wide vacation, and I’m happy to report that our crew are rested and rejuvenated! Sometimes, you just need to block out all the work stuff, no matter how much you enjoy it, and let your creative batteries recharge.
So, now that we’re back – what’s going on?
We are in the They Came From Beyond the Grave! Kickstarter’s final days! We’re closing in on both the pledge totals and number of backers from the They Came From Beneath the Seas!‘s KS, so we could really use your help in spreading the word!
If you know a fan of 70s horror movies, of TV’s Dark Shadows and Kolchak: The Night Stalker, of Victorian vampires: let them know that we’ve got a game that can be played as straight-up horror or can be played for laughs!
And all you need to play is in the one book, but by backing you get the added Stretch Goal projects like Monsters From the Crypt, the book of antagonists that we are $1000 away from adding a third section to, and the Tales of Depravity scenarios book!
So spread the word, and if they need extra incentive, go ahead and have them click on the link to the actual play we did at our online con: https://youtu.be/qLEFXntIa3g
The children of the night salute you (when they’re not making what music they make)!
Titanomachy art by Andrea Payne
What Did We Discuss At The Meeting Today?
Well, first, we went over what we all did during our week off, and how we were doing after that. Where are our respective head spaces, as it were. But you don’t want to hear about that so much, I’m sure, so here’s the other things we talked about.
Mysteries of the World is #1 on DTRPG! still, which is even more gratifying considering how many PDFs went out to backers as part of the Stretch Goals already!
Related, we discussed our next Kickstarter possibilities and it looks like Scion: Demigod is going to be ready for its KS the first week in September! More words on that these next couple of weeks!
Scion: Demigod art by Aaron Riley
We talked about the sales that are going on with our various sales partners, as below, with the Deluxe Wraith 20 and Screen on sale for the first time at Indie Press Revolution – and a darkly gorgeous book it is! A true labor of love, too, by Messers Dansky and Dawkins heading up some phenomenal writers!
Also below, but in the Onyx Path Media section, Eddy’s Workshops wrapped up. What the heck, here are the links to last two episodes so you don’t have to scroll down:
Eddy’s Workshop – The Editing Phase of RPG Development – https://youtu.be/zPXWl0c7mmM
Eddy’s Workshop – The Approvals Phase of RPG Development – https://youtu.be/Qf-FQMBLaAs
In this series of YouTube vids, Eddy goes step by step through the process of how to create RPG books, so if you are interested in how it all happens, both here at Onyx Path and elsewhere across the TTRPG industry, these are invaluable.
Also, while doing these, Eddy has also been running a series of development and project management workshops for our writers and developers. These came directly out of our Developer Town Halls we held all through the first months of Covid-19, and the many requests he had from our developers. So far, Eddy has done some group sessions, and some individual mentoring, and the responses have been fantastic!
I think Covid-19 has hit a lot of creative people hard and even the most driven creators have been hammered in their productivity, so this is us helping folks get back on to getting things done.
(I used two forms of get in a single sentence there. My old HS English teacher T.J. McCauley, who warned us never to use “get” because there is always a better word, must be spinning in his grave.)
Heroic Land-Dwellers! art by Brian LeBlanc
Time continues to show that Covid-19 has also affected some of our partners. On sale to the public this week on DTRPG is the PDF and PoD versions of Heroic Land-Dwellers! for They Came From Beneath the Sea!, but the PDF went out to backers in May. Getting the PoD version ready and printed and proofed has just dragged on.
Similarly, our Screen printer has been hard hit, but is persevering slowly. So even though we have KS books almost ready to send as rewards, we still need to have the Screens to ship them all together and that’s been a slower cycle than it has in the past.
But, refreshed now from our week of Not Work, we’re back and rarin’ to go! Ready to tackle these challenges and get our projects through the stages to get to you. Ready to once again pull together all the many threads that go into weaving our tapestry of gaming goodness featuring our:
Many Worlds, One Path!
Blurbs!
Kickstarter!
The They Came From Beyond the Grave! Kickstarter is in its last days – take a look at what horrors have been revealed so far: the Screen and two sections of Monsters from the Crypt: a book containing More Monsters, an exclusive KS t-shirt coupon, electronic Grave!-themed wallpaper, and two scenarios in the Tales of Depravity PDF! Next up in Stretch Goals are even More Monsters and electronic Wallpaper!
We’re only about $1000 away from adding in a third section to Monsters from the Crypt – so please spread the word and let’s get that Stretch goal un-buried!
Thanks to all of you who have pledged to enable this fantastic project and its Stretch Goals!
Here’s a specially-made special trailer by the brilliant Larry Blamire:
And keep your eyes open for:
Next Up on Kickstarter:
Scion: Demigod 2nd Edition the first week in September!

Kind of a hold-over from last week’s talk about Justin Achilli, this week we start with one of the quotes from Tombstone that JA and I would lob at each other over the years – and check out this week’s Reason To Celebrate for why the movie comes to mind.
They’ve mentioned that Justin is the final member of the WoD team at Paradox, even if he may be pretty much still stuck here because of Covid-19, and if you want to, you can learn more about the person pulled into the WoD team before Justin by checking out this coming Friday’s Onyx Pathcast interview with Outstar, the WoD Brand Community Manager!
How Lewd.
Another daisy has been Jon Hodgson and his extremely talented crew at Handmade Games, who we’ve worked with on many pieces of art and on the creation of the newest Creature Collection for Scarred Lands. They ran the Kickstarter, as well, and did a fantastic job with the project!
Now that the Creature Collection is at our traditional printer – where we had to send it because our more expansive plans for printing and shipping in Europe were torpedoed by Covid-19 (I feel like there’s an underlying theme here) – Jon and team have handed off the project to us in its entirety to fulfill it and get the book into stores.
With that, we’re also making the PDF and the PoD versions available this week on DriveThru. So if you prefer to get a gorgeous collection of monsters usable for any 5e gaming, this is your week.

I’m In My Prime!
Talking about ways we’re all getting through this pandemic, let’s start with quite the difference in our industry with GenCon going online and not live in Indianapolis. First time in something like 40+ years, at least, that there’s no physical con. But like ourselves, the GenCon crew have decided to run an online version filled with gaming and panels and interviews and all sorts of stuff.
Fresh from our more us-focused Onyx Path Virtual Gaming Convention last month, we are still representing at GenCon Online with a What’s Up With the Onyx Path? panel, as well as a bunch of our games. Check out details and links below in the Conventions section, and check out last week’s Onyx Pathcast, for the Terrific Trio’s talk about online gaming and more thoughts about our online con.
Lunars art by Gong Stysi
Keeping up our efforts to keep in closer contact with our developers during this time of isolation, we had another pair of Developer Town Halls last week, which seemed to go very well.
One thing that came up, which we are very aware of, is how hard it is to stay aware of the passage of time these days. Obviously, that has huuuuge impact on the projects folks are working on, as so much of freelance creation depends on creating a certain amount of X (X being words, or pages, or pieces of art, or whatever you’re creating) a day and a week and a month.
Luckily for all, Eddy Webb has spent over a decade exploring time-management techniques and processes, and while he has always been helpful for our creators on an ad hoc basis, he’s now going to run a developer work processes workshop for our devs instead of a Town Hall next month.
Our hope is that we can use this workshop to present a lot of tools and methods to heighten everyone’s ability to focus longer, faster, better.
And I almost lost my focus right there. I was just about to write “…focus longer, faster, better on our: Many Worlds, One Path!”. But I still have one more thing to mention!
More details in the Kickstarter section below, but I do want to announce that we’re going to start the Kickstarter for They Came From Beyond the Grave!, the second of the They Came From…! games, next week on Tuesday the 21st!
Phew! Glad I managed to get that mention in, and I’m expecting to go into a bunch more next week about the Hammer/Roger Corman Films genre of horror movies and why we’re very excited to be able to emulate that genre with Grave!. For an idea of how it plays, here’s the game we played at our online convention:

Today’s Reason to Celebrate!
Considered to be the day in 1882 that Johnny Ringo died, gunslinger, and model for many versions of this kind of gaming character: “A man like Ringo has got a great big hole, right in the middle of him. He can never kill enough, or steal enough, or inflict enough pain to ever fill it.” Of course, he was never a daisy.

First, it’s They Came From Beyond the Grave! and the Kickstarter that would not die. Or died and came back, if that’s more appropriate to the genre.
We’ve a little more than two weeks to go and it is shambling along having passed another Stretch Goal last week! You can gather more details in the Kickstarter section below!
Then there’s They Came from Beneath the Sea! whose PDF and PoD versions go on sale this Wednesday on DTRPG. Now this isn’t the traditionally printed version that was the main reward for its Kickstarter – that’s getting shipped over to the KS fulfillment gang at Studio2.
We need the other parts of that KS, like the Screen, to get there before Studio2 can start fulfilling the KS, but everything is being worked on at this point, so not too long now!
Finally, just wanted to throw out a little thought exercise to everyone. We’ve chatted in panels and such online about what could be next for They Came From…!, and I think we even have a thread about that topic on our Onyx Path forums, with such titles as They Came from Boot Hill! or They Came From Over Yonder! (Western genre), They Came From Under the Bed! (kid’s scary shows), and They Came From Past the Moon! (spaceship sci-fi).
But what would you be interested in? They Came From Monster Island!, maybe? Give us your thoughts in the comments section below!
From The Monday Meeting-
We reviewed our panel at Gen Con Online today in the Monday Meeting, and here are some interesting thoughts about that and more from Eddy Webb:
Our attendance at the What’s Up panel definitely seemed better than usual for Gen Con, but (understandably) lower than when we did it at Onyx Path Con a couple months back. The chat seemed well behaved, too. I think it’s worth doing again.
Related, one of the panels I did was in Second Life on Saturday. I admit I was skeptical, but the people running it were some old friends of mine, so I gave it a try, and honestly it really scratched an itch that Twitch streams don’t. They built out a large chunk of the Indianapolis convention center, down to the Grand Ballroom and the food trucks, as well as more fantastical settings like a fantasy forest and a post-apocalypse landscape. Many of the people I talked to were very new to tabletop RPGs and just excited to hear about things like Pugmire. And, to be honest, not having a camera on my face all the time made me feel a lot more comfortable, and the chats I was having before and after the event felt more like coming and going to an in-person panel. Yes, it also suffered from some disjointed messaging and the like, but we had a talk about dealing with things like the learning curve, and they have some good ideas for other conventions going forward. The group is called VRazethebar, and it’s something I’m definitely keeping an eye on.
Which is actually pretty cool. A VR space to gather in rather than the stacked head-shots sounds really interesting and immersive. The future of LARPing?
The Dog Days of Summer Sale on our Deluxe X20 books and Screens and even dice is going gangbusters over at IPR. I’m told we are completely out of the very last Werewolf: The Apocalypse 20th Anniversary Editions!
We added Changeling: The Dreaming 20th to the sale as well, so that includes the Deluxe book, the Screen, and C20 Dice!
Finally, we realized today that a bunch of us were going to be out all next week, and rather than having folks hang around as a skeleton crew, I just declared next week as a holiday for the whole company!
Frankly, we are beat every way somebody could be. Mentally, psychologically, physically, psychically, emotionally, creatively: BEAT. Our crew needs and deserves a break!
So, no MMN Blog next week, although we’ll probably put up a KS reminder or something like that late Monday.
No Onyx Pathcast next week, although I understand that this Friday the Trio will suggest their favorite ones to listen to while they’re gone.
We will have a project for sale that Weds, the 12th, as we can set that up ahead of time. More details below, but I’m thrilled to say it’s Mysteries of the World: The Scion Companion. I know a lot of folks have been waiting for more official Scion material – so here it is!
After a break to recharge, we’re hoping to come bouncing back all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed (and fanged and caped) and get right back into taking you to our:
Many Worlds, One Path!

On Sale This Week!
This Wednesday, the PDF and PoD versions of They Came From Beneath the Sea! arise from the depths and go on sale on DTRPG!
They Came from Beneath the Sea! is a dramatic and farcical tabletop roleplaying game encompassing the wonder, horror, thrills, and humor of 1950s and 1960s science fiction. This game allows you to play with all the great content from the B-movies of decades ago, and promises a dynamic, fun time for all involved!
In They Came from Beneath the Sea! you play humans in a world under attack. The attackers? Aliens from beneath the sea (obviously). Adventures range from the one-shot defense of a small coastal town, to the lengthier liberation of a cruise ship infested with gill-folk, all the way to the story in which characters seize an alien submarine and ride it all the way down to the sea bed to take the fight to the invaders. In this game, your protagonists are strong-jawed war veterans, cunning and resourceful explorers, utterly insane scientists, and blue-collar heroes, just looking to defend their patches of land.
They Came from Beneath the Sea! contains a mix of serious threat and unbridled farce. While the book plays it straight with no winking at the camera, your game will include ludicrous statements and events taken with all the gravitas of your boat being set on fire. While this game provides rules for funny quips and amusing cinematics for incorporation in a scenario, we leave it to the players and Director to discover the correct level of humor for your game.
They Came from Beneath the Sea! uses the Storypath System, provided in full in the pages of this book!
They Came from Beneath the Sea! includes:
• Five playable Archetypes — the Everyman, the G-Man, the Mouth, the Scientist, and the Survivor!
• Rules for character creation and play, using the Storypath System fully detailed in this book!
• Cinematic powers such as the ability to insert deleted scenes in your game, cut to black when everything is looking a bit too grim, and redirect shots to kill the extras!
• Quips to throw in at appropriate (and sometimes inappropriate) moments, giving your characters the chance at an award-winning scene!
• The history and setting of the 1950s world presented in this book!
• Scores of aliens promising the fall of the human race, presenting a broad array of dangers and objectives for repeat play!
• Two ready-to-play scenarios, straight out of the book!
And on Wednesday the 12th, we are delving into the Mysteries of the World: The Scion Companion, in PDF and PoD versions on DTRPG!
Though knowledge, wisdom, and the ability to see the unseen are many Scions’ birthrights, the World holds infinite secrets. Gaze deep into Tezcatlipoca’s mirror or the eyes of an avian bringer of omens, and no matter how sagacious you imagine yourself to be, you’ll learn something new — or something older than time.
Scion: Mysteries of the World presents optional rules and new pantheons, expands upon setting elements and systems, and gives Storyguides and players both a leg up in not only understanding Scion’s particular brand of the Storypath system, but fine-tuning it to meet their table’s needs. You don’t need this book to play a game of Scion, but if you want to explore the World and its many mysteries in more depth, it’s got you covered.
This book includes:
A system and advice for dialing elements of the game setting up and down to uniquely suit your game;
An expansion of cults, crafting, and relics;
Three new pantheons — the Loa of Haiti, the Nemetondevos of Gaul, and the Yazata of Persia — as well as the optional Atlantean pantheon, as an example that comes with advice and rules for how to create your own custom Purviews and pantheons;
A guide for converting Scion First Edition characters and stories to Second Edition.
Conventions!
Though dates for physical conventions are subject to change due to the current COVID-19 outbreak, here’s what’s left of our current list of upcoming conventions (and really, we’re just waiting for this last one to be cancelled even though it’s Nov/Dec). Instead, keep an eye out here for more virtual conventions we’re going to be involved with:

Today’s Reason to Celebrate!
One happy and one sad today. Today is the 49th birthday of our Kickstarter Concierge James Bell! James has been a ray of blinding golden light or a veritable Grond of Kickstarter-running for us and we’re sure glad to have him! Have a great day, eh!
Mike Chaney let us know today of the passing of his mother last night. None of us ever met her, but she managed to raise one of the nicest people, and talented art direction and layout maestro, that Mike is, so we feel like we have in a way. Thank you so much for that, ma’am. RIP.
