Looking for ANOTHER post this time dcxdp
So all the heroes went missing except Phantom and he has ghosts temporarily take over for the heroes like Skulker in Metropolis. Dani was also taken cause she's part of the JL and Phantom accidentally became king of the world and the JL were in some space prison or something

Hi everyone!
In celebration of the new year, I thought that I'd do some youtube recommendations from last year. All of these cover a wide range of topics and I hope you find something you like here. (No particular order).
1. Hbomberguy - Plagarism and You(Tube)
How could I talk about YouTube this year and not talk about this video. Heck, a video so big that it trended at No. 1. on Tumblr for several days. An extremely in-depth video about the topic of plagiarism, informing the viewer why people do it, discussing tell-tale signs of plagiarism and how it can be so harmful, especially when work is taken from smaller POC/LGBT+ writers. A 4-hour epic that is as disappointing as it is inspiring. It encourages me to put my writing out there, which is why I'm doing this in the first place. Would highly recommend and check out anti-vaccine and Roblox videos while you're there.
youtube
2. Todd in the Shadows - I fact checked the worst video-essayist on Youtube.
A companion piece to Hbomberguy's video which exclusively discusses James Sommerton. A former gay YouTube personality, who spread all sorts of misleading misinformation and lies about LGBT history, the creation of Skype and 1940s Germany . Todd goes through each lie and thoroughly debunks them with often a simple google search. The most chilling part for me was the beginning, where a prominent LGBT activist was repeating lies told by Sommerton, showing how easy it can be for misinformation to spread. Like Hbomberguy's video, it's also weirdly inspiring, and for other videos with a similar vibe, I would recommend his trainwreckord videos on Katy Perry and Edgar Winter.
youtube
3. B Mask - The Musicals of Dom Bluth
A really underrated video that I've rewatched countless times. In a unique retrospective, B Mask examines the various animated musicals by Dom Bluth. I, for one, had never considered Bluth a musical man, but this video has changed how I view Bluth and his animated musicals, even his direct-to-video movies. All the songs are discussed at length, and what works and what doesn't are carefully examined. Each song has its own animated lyrics, containing some of the best jokes in the video. Interestingly, B Mask explains the differences of how Russian royalty are depicted in American Tale and Anastasia, which is something I've not really thought about. Incredibly funny, entertaining, and enlightening. I would also recommend his videos on Return to Oz and The Fantastic Four.
youtube
4. Lady Emily - Plastic Beach: The Masterpiece that almost ended the Gorillaz
Lady Emily follows the principal of quality over quantity and all of her videos are entertaining and informative. I wanted to shed light on this video in particular as it documents a moment in time when the Gorillaz, one of the most significant rock bands, was on shaky ground and could've ended entirely. Lady Emily discusses their rise with Demon Days and their potential fall with Plastic Beach, an extremely experimental album that was controversial at the time. As well as the irony of it being called one of the better Gorillaz albums today. Her love of the Gorillaz is clear to see, which makes watching it endearing.
youtube
5. Louham - A Conscious Look Into Black Hair in Gaming and Animation
Despite being a small channel, Louham already shows a lot of promise with his video essay style videos. As I am not a part of the black community, I've never known the struggle of not seeing myself represented in media which is why this video was so enlightening. How the same few styles are in every video game and how black hair is often treated by those of other races, are topics that I would to learn more about, quite frankly.
youtube
6. Vogjam - The Rise & Fall of Isekai Cartoons
I have tried generally to stick to videos made last year, but this video is too good to be buried. Vogjam discusses different American animated series and their connection to another world or isekai stories. Delving into how the main characters of each show respond to their new settings and his general opinion of each show. It does discuss quite difficult topics, especially towards the end, but warnings are given in the video and a time frame to skip. Definitely one to watch if you are familiar with these shows.
youtube
7. HitReg - This Anime exposed a $28,000,000,000 Slave Operation
This one is a real downer, as if the title didn't give it away already, but it is a very important watch. Hitreg discusses how the format of anime production has changed for the worse, with anime studios constantly in debt and no hope for unions to make the situation better. Comparing anime releases to stocks that never make a profit and the fact that in the near future, anime may become a thing of the past entirely. A must-watch for any anime fan.
youtube
8. The Editing Podcast - Spiderverse Editor Reveals The Secret To Cut Action
Like many people, I'm sure, I've been more than a little obsessed with Across the Spiderverse, so to learn even more titbits from behind the scenes is fascinating. For example, did you know we could've had a sneak peek at Beyond the Spiderverse from Across? Literally, to the point that Sony needed to censor it to not give anything away. C'mon, Sony, I need to know, what're you hiding? More importantly, the video sheds light on the development of many key scenes in Across from the opening scenes with Gwen, the Nueva York train sequence, and the many changes to its ending. Unfortunately, it does have a few ads within the video, which are quite lengthy but still worth the watch, in my opinion.
youtube
9. T B Skyen - Grief in Art
I've been watching Skyen for quite a while now, mostly for his YouTube shorts reviews of Pokémon designs and League of Legends skins. But when he uploaded his companion video to Grief in Art, I knew I would enjoy the main video too. There's just something about someone telling their thoughts and opinions on art work that really resonated with me. From how grief is depicted in a variety of ways from the subtle pieces like the various depictions of the Virgin Mary to more extreme depictions seen in One Piece and Arcane. I know this is extremely niche, but I honestly wouldn't mind more videos like this on YouTube. It just scratches an itch that I didn't know I had. Skyen is also active on Tumblr, so make sure to follow him.
youtube
10. Jeffiot - no one knows who made skull trumpet (until now)
Thanks to T B Skyen for recommending this video on his community post. Jeffiot chronicles his journey as he discovers the origin of a seemingly simple GIF, which quickly turns into the vast rabbit hole of internet sleuthing. More than anything, this video teaches the importance of giving proper credit to others for their work, which appears to be part of an ongoing genre on YouTube (Roblox_OOF.mp3 Hbomberguy, Defunctland's Disney Channel's Theme: A History Mystery, and Sakura Stardust's I found the source of the "Gameboy mom" photo, among many others). Like many of these stories, it is filled with heartfelt sentiment.
youtube
Whew! That was a lot. I wanted to include more, but Tumblr has a 10-video-per-post rule. If there are any other videos, I put them in a separate post. I think I have a bit of a YouTube problem, lol. I've tried to fill this list with mostly smaller YouTubers. I believe they're still worth watching, so I hope that you'll check out at least one video from here if you haven't already. Happy watching!

What's your favorite Venti lore/references?
For me it's him guiding souls after death and being connected to istaroth. Also the whole prodigal son thing, What do you think it means for him? (Hope you don't mind getting asks like this, i couldn't help but be curious)
CRACKS MY KNUCKLES. ALRIGHT FOLKS, BUCKLE UP.
DEATH
First off, I absolutely love his ties to death! Usually in media, when gods deal in the realm of death, they're all dark and dreary and either sad or evil. Venti, on the other hand, embodies more of the aspects of comfort. A final rest after a life well lived. Barbatos is said to guide the souls of the deceased to the afterlife on a wind, yes, but he also lets them live on through song! There is a belief that someone isn't truly dead until their name has been spoken for the last time, and Venti places importance of using names in his songs, as seen in the manga when he asks Venessa if he can use her name in a song.
There's also how heavily anemo ties into the concept of loss (gestures at the dead friend gives you an anemo vision joke), and the anemoi wind spirits from myths were also once a guide of souls to the afterlife.
There's also the post I made last night- "Not death, but his brother, sleep" (shout out to The Ra.ven Cycle book series). In Greek mythologies, which Venti does have a few ties to, Death and Sleep are brothers- and we all know of Venti's ties to sleep. Aside from his times of sleep, he was also seen singing the guards to sleep when going to free Venessa.
ANYWAY all this to say I think along with the wind, freedom, and hope, death is one domain that Venti falls into. (Which just makes him and Hu Tao even better buddies).
ISTAROTH
This is where I can more theory crafting rather than reflective. We've learned the the Thousand Winds were the Thousand Winds of Time. Now, I do not think that Venti is a son in the traditional sense- rather, I think that the Thousand Winds of Time form one being- Istaroth.
Venti also called himself a single breeze/wind, so I believe he was one of the thousand that made up Istaroth, only to rise up above the others in terms of power during the rebellion against Decarabian, and then becoming a god in his own right.
Do I have much evidence for this? Not at all! It's just my thoughts.
(Also, apparently prodigal means wastefully extravagant, which while I admit my first thought is his indulgences in drink and revelry, also make me wonder if it is perhaps that he has made Mondstadt into a home where people can act as such if they please- free to do so.)
OTHER THOUGHTS
One of my favourite bits of lore comes from the Wings of Shimmering Galaxy lore. It's spoken from the perspective of Venti post Archon War! It goes to say,
"For he knew that someone must heal the hurts of the world, and thus someone needed to find a way to communicate with them."
From Zhongli's character stories, we know that Venti went to visit, bringing a gift of wine- and that that led to the 7 all meeting together regularly. He is a bard, and the god of the wind- music and poetry flow like the wind, after all. Of course he would facilitate communication! HOWEVER, this didn't work for a long, long time. In fact, the glider lore continues,
"But the poet knew this would happen. (...) Still, the poet did not give up, though not because he believed or anything. This was just the way he was."
Despite being called the god of Hope by Neuvilette, Venti didn't have any hope. He just... didn't know what else to do.
Anyway, I should end it here, before I ramble on for many more paragraphs about all the things I love about Venti.

Cube Hostage Exchange Theory - S1 to S5 edition
After the initial feeling of hopelessness that the journey had taken him far from the Banther Lodge, Callum realized his stepdad was writing to him about the rune cube Rayla had rescued. He’d always known that cube was important. Maybe now Rayla would start listening to him… and maybe now he could find out how he could use the mysterious cube.

( @ Ivy ) Hmm…I guess I’ll ask the most obvious question. Shapeshifting is a natural ability for me, but for you it looks like it involves some extra work and even multiple sources, like a humans’ soul. Were you human in a past life, or did you find one on your own? Is the old form of this “soul” the form you take when you change shape or did you mold it into your preferred appearance? - Hana

"It's not one I happened to pick and choose. It was an impulsive choice I made when I was younger."
"I would never disrespect my old form. Her form... I only added myself to it over the years. Even so. I can't 'mold' it. I just change my appearance. As any human would."
"But, It's still mine and It's still me. I just can't have it all of the time now. At least not forever, as much as I do miss it, being human all the time, I cheated fated, and this is my punishment. So I will accept it, Be as it may." Ivy softly sighed, despite her emotionless exterior she seemed almost... Sad? Though it didn't show for long.
-> Ivy doesn't seem like she wants to talk about it anymore... at least for right now. -> Any questions related will be set aside for later. -> Ivy's profile has been updated.

I just remembered a Tumblr post I saw about two weeks or so after “For the Future” came out that was basically:
“Hunter got scarring over where the goop was bc belos was physically consuming his flesh, and Raine has goop where their earing is” and then had a drawing of Raine and Eda with that had Raine just staring at their earing going “He unpierced my ear!” and Eda standing next to them with a piercing gun.

Gerardpilled Concert Etiquette Guide
Okay so this is my guide for general concert etiquette I think could help a lot of first timers or just people who might not have thought of this!
This isn’t meant as a definitive, written in stone, lists of do’s and don’ts. In fact a lot of people probably think is is overthinking things. If you want to do any of the things I say not to, go right ahead! I just know I personally have gotten a lot of anxiety in the past over if I’m acting weird/rude at shows and I’m just trying to ease that burden for some of you!! Also don’t feel bad if you have done any of this stuff and/or end up doing it in the future. Most of this I’ve learned through trial and error so I’ve definitely committed social faux pas, it’s not the end of the world :)
My experience is limited to shows in New Jersey, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Buffalo, and Toronto. Honestly the atmosphere/vibe has been different every time. Sometimes it’s just a case-by-case experience depending on location and artist!
I have never been to a festival show
Most of this pertains to general admission. Seated events are generally pretty straight forward, but all the clothes/what to bring pertain to those as well!
Google your venue and make a plan before going! See what the capacity is, where you can park, etc. if you are getting dropped off/picked up, organize meeting places. Maybe have an organized check-in text system with a friend if you’re going alone.
Clothes/What to Bring
Dress comfortably! I feel like tiktok has made it seem going to a show requires An Outfit and that you have to go all out. I try to dress cute, but my comfort and safety comes first. no matter how cool it is outside, assume it’s going to be much hotter inside the venue. Definitely don’t wear clothes you’re afraid of messing up. I’ve gotten beer and other stuff spilled on me, it just happens! Here’s what my partner and I have worn to shows in the past:
Tumblr media
This was in Canada in March so we wore light jackets and were then able to tie them around our waists once inside. Jacket Checks might exist, but basically ruin any spot you previously held in line.
Shower/bathe in some way before attending. Odds are if you’re waiting in line you’ll get a little gross anyway, but you want to start off clean.
Sturdy shoes. Don’t wear sandals. Boots work for toe protection, just make sure they’re easy to move in and won’t make you overheat (especially at outdoor shows) I personally wear my converse run stars. They give me a bit extra height with the comfort of sneakers
Binders. If you want to wear your binder, I say do so with caution. It can get pretty suffocating once in the venue, and they could just make it worse.
Small bags. This is important for three reasons: 1) a lot of venues have size limits for bags you can bring, 2) comfort inside the venue and 3) bag-checks slow down the line. Mini-backpacks seem to be popular nowadays, but even those can be a little inconvenient (plus easy for people to open) so I’d recommended a cross-body bag. I personally just got the Herschel Sinclair Crossbody in Large (and shortened the straps to sit higher on my body). Don't Bring Tote Bags (annoying to hold and easy to steal out of)
Tumblr media
Hydration/food — bring snacks if you’re planning on lining up early! Water too if possible. Most if not all venues will not allow water bottles inside so don’t bring reusable ones. I’m planning on buying one or two of these reusable plastic roll-up ones used for hiking that way I don’t have to waste plastic :)
Tumblr media
Travel light. Bring the bare minimum into the venue. Money, ID, phone, keys are all you really have to worry about once you’re in there.
Carabiners. These are great for securing so much. I’ve personally gotten like a 10 pack of these little guys that have a little locking system. These are great for keys (either secure to belt loop or internal zipper within your small bag). The bigger ones are great for hats or anything really!
Tumblr media
Might be Controversial, but don’t bring signs. With a few exceptions, signs basically bring nothing good. They block the view of people behind you and most of the time the artist cannot see them at all. A few people have brought fabric banners/flags and I think that makes more sense. They are way less of a nuance.
Don’t bring self-defense items - these will usually get confiscated by security.
Queueing
This is usually where you hear about the most drama. General rules should be just be nice and respectful.
Getting on the queue. The quality of the spot you get on the queue and the time you join it range dramatically between venues/states/countries/type of concert. I’ve never personally started queueing the night before, and I’ve always ended up okay. What usually happens is there’s ~20 or so people who line up night before/early morning, and then sudden influxes midday and also 1-2 hours before the show.
Saving a spot for your friend(s)/cutting. General rule – don’t do it. If you want to be near that friend(s), go to the back of the line where they are. This might sound mean, but cutting is disrespectful to the people who have waited hours. Also don’t put your friend in an awkward position by asking to cut.
Leaving the queue. For every show I've been to, people have been pretty cool about this. Always ask (preferably the person/people behind you) if it’s okay first and be clear what you’re leaving for. If you’re getting food/coffee, offer to get them something. If you’re in a group of friends, at least one should stay behind. Try to make this trip as quick as possible. If the person behind you does take issue with it, you could probably ask the person behind them if it’s okay and just forfeit the one-person spot in line. Also, if you are the person being asked, try not to have a problem with it!
Smoking. This might sound specific, but I’ve heard of problems surrounding this. If you want to smoke (anything) while on queue – ask people around you if it’s okay and/or walk a few feet off the line. If you don’t smoke – try not to get upset over people around you doing so. Odds are you’re all standing on outdoor public property, they can do whatever they want. I personally don’t smoke of any kind and people have been pretty nice about asking if them doing so bothers me!
Talk to people! You are all lining up to see the same artist, odds are you have something in common. Especially if you’re by yourself, it’s great to at least know some people before going in. HOWEVER – considering mcr is such a big ‘fandom’ band, test the waters of what is okay to discuss with people around you. Personally I do not want to discuss shipping or basically anything I post online in person.
Have your bag ready/items in hand before security. Most venues have a simple metal-detector system where they ask you to take off your bag, look inside it, and place it inside a bin so you can walk through a metal detector.
Where to stand
Okay you’re in the venue – now you have to figure out where it will be best to stand. A lot of people automatically think barricade is best, but that’s not necessarily true depending on what you want to do/who you’re with
Going with parent/friend/partner. If you are bringing someone who doesn't care about the band, I will say aim to stand towards the outer side edges of the stage. If you and your parent is okay with it, ask them to split up so they can stand out of the way. With a partner or friend, maybe ask them to stand behind you if you’re not willing to go to the side. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been stuck behind someone who obviously does NOT want to be there. It just kills the vibe.
Barricade. If you’re lucky enough to get barricade, remember this can come with side effects. People have gotten bruised from the metal and have been squished against it to the point of breathing problems. Only stand here if you’re prepared for this!
Middle/center crowd - usually where the crowd can get the most active/rowdy! Stand here if you’re okay with that.
Back. There are plenty of people who just like to attend a concert and vibe with a drink and friends. The back is usually where the casual listeners/older audience members stand.
Specific to mcr– it’s kinda become a joke at this point, but it does seem Frank’s side of the stage fills up quicker/denser than Ray’s side. Do what you wish with this info.
During the show
Getting merch. I usually aim to get merch after the show. If you get it before, you risk losing a good spot and also you have to hold it. However, the line will be long afterwards and with mcr i’ve heard stuff sold out.
Be attentive! Be aware of your surroundings. If you are someone who has health concerns, make that known to people around you and try to notice if others are struggling. Make sure people aren’t being creepy or making others uncomfortable.
Be respectful to the openers. Do not talk through the opening sets or stay on your phone during them. You wouldn’t believe how many times this has happened at shows I've been to. I get it, I personally don’t care about any openers for my mcr shows, but I'm going to stand there and pretend like I do.
Phones. Hot topic issue right here. My recommendation is try to use your phones as little as possible. It’s very distracting for anyone behind you and I guarantee you will not be watching all those videos back. I personally aim to record the little banter between songs because at least that’s unique for every show! If you think something interesting is going to happen or your favorite part is coming up, whip your phone out and aim for less than a minute? (this is just an estimate). After shows I usually have less than 20-30 total videos/photos from the actual set. Especially with mcr, there’s so many people and so much online discussion that odds are someone has captured something. Side note – maybe don’t stand at the barricade just recording entire songs the whole time?
Pushing. It’s going to happen. If it’s obvious it’s an accident, try to be okay with it. Try to be careful, but also don’t leave tons of space in front of you (people will see and it just leads to more pushing). If someone spills something on you, odds are they were pushed and it was an accident. They are probably pissed their drink got wasted.
Shouting at artists. Debatable. Sometimes what people shout can be funny, other times extremely embarrassing. Don’t harass them or make sexual comments. Don’t shout song titles or fandom-inside jokes. I’ve seen people attempt to have whole convos with artists after getting their attention and it’s just awkward for everyone involved.
Sorry that was way longer than I expected! Remember these are just my recommendations, and stuff I've personally noticed. If you have any specific questions about anything or if you think i’ve missed anything send me an ask!

A recreation of an audio post that I KNOW fucking exists but i CANNOT find other than in text form! The howling wind may or may not have been there, but for some reason I remember something akin to that. I don’t even watch Always Sunny, but this has plagued my mind for ages.

Alright, tumblr peeps
Help me find the post where someone is like, "Oh, a very clear and concise post, I can't imagine how anyone could misinterpret that!" and then she looks at the comments and there's video of her doing a little dance that goes, "I don't have...reading comprehension...I don't have...reading comprehension!" It is delightful and I need to show it to someone and all my site searches and keyword searches are failing me!

Can someone please help me find a post? The post is of Wayne meeting Steve, and he's telling Steve how Eddie came into his care. But it just turns into Wayne calling Eddie a raccoon and how he found Eddie in the trash. It's such a great post, and I wanted to show a few friends who are getting into the fandom.
I was finally able to find it, thanks to everyones help.

Aurghhh I’ve been trying to find it but I have no idea where it is. Do you know about that post where it’s like “angel do you remember your dreams” and while Aziraphale’s are the absolute worst nightmares imaginable (ex: cutting Crowley in half for a magic trick) while Crowley’s are French moonlit romances. I need it for reasons, and I think it’s been rbed here before. If it hasn’t, it’s definitely heritage worthy. thanks! :]
i've definitely seen this one before, but i can't find it either! :( if anyone knows where it is, please drop a link in the replies/reblogs :]
