Time Travel Question 46: Early Modernish and Earlier
These Questions are the result of suggestions from the previous iteration.
This category may include suggestions made too late to fall into the correct earlier time grouping. Basically, I'd already moved on to human history, but I'd periodically get a pre-homin suggestion, hence the occasional random item waaay out of it's time period, rather than reopen the category.
In some cases a culture lasted a really long time and I grouped them by whether it was likely the later or earlier grouping made the most sense with the information I had. (Invention ofs tend to fall in an earlier grouping if it's still open. Ones that imply height of or just before something tend to get grouped later, but not always. Sometimes I'll split two different things from the same culture into different polls because they involve separate research goals or the like).
Please add new suggestions below if you have them for future consideration. All cultures and time periods welcome.

i see a lot of people saying they don't like the modern day/interview/daniel parts of iwtv and i simply couldn't feel more differently i gobble those scenes up like they are italian dessert... louis being a freak who is trying to present a picture of wellness but is clearly extremely unwell, daniel trying to provoke him by analysing the story through a modern lens and often in bad faith, louis' words being chosen carefully to represent the events of his life in the way that would further his currently unclear agenda, daniel's issues with drugs and his sexuality, the history and tension between the two of them..... literally it's a WELL of interesting threads to follow if you engage with it

Thinking about Lestat seeing Louis’s eating patterns as a waste of his gift/himself while Armand gives Louis food that he literally can not enjoy or digest just so he has something on his stomach
#if i had to give each of louis relationship a theme loustat would be shame and loumand would be enabling#which are both really bad ways of “helping” a partner with an ed#lestats shame and anger tactics only make louis more resentful and less likely to eat#while armand having the little drinks and exotic animals and the human food dont actually deal with louis problem head on-#cus at the end of the day louis is still not eating enough#and i think they really exemplifies both of their trauma and abandonment issues#both of them came up chronically food insecure#lestat was put into the role of provider at a very early age and stayed in that role until he died/was turned#so for him rejecting what lestat gives is like rejecting lestat cus he doesnt have anything else to make him “useful”#and lestats reaction to rejection is anger and control so he tries to shame and control louis into eating more/human#while armand has been abandoned by literally everyone he loves up till this point so for him its like#ok i can make people dtay if i give them what they want and what louis wants is to not feel bad about eating and so armand does that#but it still doesnt get to the root of the issue which is louis having poor coping mechanisms for his grief and other emotions#like either way you slice it. louis is not meeting his nutritional needs. he eats drinks from one guy eats a fox or some other small animal#when he should be having like two dudes at least#and then he has human food which according to anne rice makes vampires vomit up their whole stomach content so...#louis imma send you to my therapist shes great#interview with the vampire#iwtv#louis de pointe du lac#amc iwtv#lestat de lioncourt#ldpdl#iwtv 2022#armand iwtv#armand#loumand#loustat#like armand gives louis food he cant eat just so he knows theres something in louis stomach even for a short while

I can’t stop thinking how Lestat could hear Louis’ thoughts the entire time he was courting him. How long was it? Months? That must have been some R-rated shit, considering Louis was down horrendously from the very first moment he laid eyes on that obnoxious(ly hot) French white.

Something that stood out to me during my probably 20th rewatch of the show is that at the end of episode 1, Louis who tells about his dramatic turning into a vampire is emotional and fairly so. Since it was the beginning of his new life as a vampire it makes sense for him to shed a single bloody tear.
But here is the thing the next time we see Louis in episode 2 he comes to the dinner table and apologizes to Daniel, saying sorry for his outburst earlier. So your telling me that Louis considered that an outburst? A completely understandable single tear is an outburst?
And this goes back to the differences in Loumand's and Loustat's relationships.
All throughout the first season in Dubai we see Armand not letting Louis feel his emotions and is always there to stop him from showing too much of any negative emotion. And this also connected to the first scene we got from season 2 where Armand tells Louis how he likes that Louis is withholding.
Armand likes the part of Louis that is docile and calm while Lestat likes the vicious and more challenging part of Louis personality.
Both of them cannot accept and love Louis for who he fully is and I am excited to see how there relationships are able to develop in the show. I think it will be super cool to see the progression of this aspect of the show and how the journey that these characters go on will lead them to accepting and loving each other for who they truly are.

How violent can this feral bunny get? Chen Yi has cuts in his neck, lower lip, his right hand and a huge bruising on his left arm. Chen Yi was definitely not resisting Ai Di in this encounter. He can easily pick Ai Di and throw him over his shoulder like a rag doll. You think he would get beat up that easily? Ha. I think not. He's enjoying this more than Ai Di knows. Look at the grin on his face while Ai Di is preparing to torture him even more.

My man even started eating spicy food for the love of his life. If this isn't a depiction of love then what is?????
