The fact that Main-verse Ooo is as good and as kind as it is (relative to the other universes shown so far, at least, it's obviously not perfect) all because of the same character that starts off as the OG series' antagonist, the person we were made to see as the bad guy (albeit an often ineffectual one) for several seasons, is making me lose my mind.

Imagine finding out the guy you spent your childhood beating up and saving princesses from is in fact a driving catalyst behind you being able to exist, and not only exist but also live in a world that knows what kindness is. All because that man, the same man who you've witnessed do terrible things, once met a little girl and taught her how to be good.

Simon's story really shows us that even if you lose your way and forget how it is to be good yourself, the world keeps the memory for you. That act of love Simon showed Marcy by protecting her and seeing her as more than the monster she thought herself to be created ripples upon ripples, small at first but eventually enough to help give their wreckage of a world—a world that easily could have been forsaken, its goodness overlooked because of its inhospitable remains—a chance to grow into something beautiful. Because of those very same ripples Simon created, the people of Ooo grew up in a world where they know enough about kindness that they were able and willing to spare the 'bad guy' some, to see beyond the wreckage and allow him to grow too.

In saving Marceline, Simon helped to not only to save the world, but also himself.

How can we hold that against them when they don't?' #Arrgh sorry I just always loved Ice King's arc in the show. From pesky antagonist to the person Finn dived into a chaos god to save #(the world's new beginning and its near ending being all because of simon. he has such main character energy and boy does he not want it) #And now we're getting Simon stuff and I'm so normal I'm so normal I'm so normal (<- has never been normal about this character) #(i...i have many MANY drawings of ice king and simon from 2015 and the years after. i was doomed from the start. Ok ok ok so I didn’t think I’d like adventure time either. I just watched it for the first time this past year and ever since I’ve been obsessed with it! The entire universe is just so good. I’m amazed it’s a kids show. There are just some parts and episodes that get trippy and super DARK but most of it is a happy go lucky show

And then there’s MORE! There’s Adventure Time: Distant Lands and Fionna and Cake 😍😍😍

Which again I was very skeptical about cause Fionna and Cake weren’t my favorite episodes in adventure time but they did an AMAZING job with it.

I’ve been rewatching Adventure Time cause there’s just so much to it? They’re only 10ish minute episodes but they jam pack those episodes my dude it’s crazy what they fit in 10 minutes.

Some episodes are super fucking random and make no sense and other episodes (usually towards the end of the series) are actually about the story. And it might just be because I’m usually smoking or high when I watch it but I don’t fully remember everything that happens. Some of these episodes I’ve rewatched and it feels like a brand new episode????

It’s honestly not like any of those shows but I kinda think it’s in the same ball park? It’s like if those shows were from Cartoon Network.

I’ve watched She-Ra, Owl House (I’m on the last episode and I don’t want it to end!!!!), Gravity Falls (which if you haven’t seen you DEFINITELY need to watch cause it’s on the same wavelength as owl house and has some of the same voice actors) and also really like Harley Quinn the animated series (if you’ve heard or seen that) and love all of them with my whole heart 🫶🫶🫶

1000/10 recommend at least trying a few episodes! Like I said they’re only 10 min and man oh man they are so good!

I will say that I binge watched a lot of them and now the ending song will be stuck in my head for the rest of my days. Also I got very very annoyed that they were so short and went by so damn fast!

BuuuUuUuUuUt when they came out with distant lands and fionna and cake I was THRILLED cause they are longer episodes and they go more into the story of the universe of adventure time and the characters.

fusebox devs/writers are actively irresponsible with the writing this season.  idk if i’m just too sensitive or what but suresh’s behavior is really troubling given that it’s portrayed as romantic (by the narrative but also by other characters??)

repeatedly manipulates the player character (wistfully bringing up her history with his family regardless of whether or not the player chooses positive interactions with him in that scene, threatens to leave the villa “for her sake”, self-aggrandization, seriously if i see one more option to tell this dude that he’s a good person i’m going to throw my phone across the room)

asks her serious questions that need to be considered in front of other people so that she feels pressured to answer immediately (and answer in a way that will make people like her), and actually seems to make a point to pull most of his shit in public (which is an extremely common tactic of abusers, especially male abusers and female victims, because women are socialized to not make waves)

repeatedly insists to her that he “knows her best”/“knows her better than anyone else here” upon the possibility of her pursuing other love interests, even when you choose to tell him that he doesn’t know her anymore 

discusses their private information and history, including explicit sexual information, to others without her consent, yes i realize this is meant to be on a television show being broadcasted to millions of people but there’s a huge difference between general discussions given that they were obviously together for a long time and giving very specific details 

like normally i would think this is just bad or inconsistent writing but it feels like fusebox wrote this as deliberately romantic and idk emotional abuse is normalized as legitimate romance enough as it is, can we please not have it in our stupid dating sim, is that too much to ask
