You can use a fork to mash potatoes if the blender was too smooth, btw the best way to make mashed potatoes is to boil them with a crushed clove or two of garlic and some of the spice you want and then once you take it off the heat remove the garlic and extra water and add a lil bit of sour cream and butter and some more of the spices to taste
My forks are all small and I was worried it would take too long and I was so hungry *rubbing my big belly* Also I chose to cook the garlic w the melted butter instead of in the potato water because I wanted the garlic taste to be stronger. The thought of boiling a garlic clove made me like for real sad. I def wanna use more spices next time tho, I'm considering a lil smoked paprika and cayenne. Also conjuring up memories of when I worked in a Persian restaurant and I kinda wanna add saffron maybe, maybe next time if I decide to be fancy and I have a proper masher.... I love food

Separated and salted my pink oyster mushroom beast into bits so I could deep fry, the little ones were great! But the texture on some of the larger ones urked me right in the food aversion, GF loved 'em tho!
Batter was like a basic deep-fry one I do:
Made buttermilk from semi-skimmed milk + lemon juice, paprika, balsamic vinegar
Then the coating was cayenne pepper, black pepper, garlic granules, onion granules, paprika, oregano, ancho chilli flakes, in 2 parts corn flour 1 part plain flour
I also attempted cheese sticks but they died :/
