Penelope picks only on rude people? Ah that's rich. She insulted Kate in the show and in the book for absolutely no reason. She drove a lady to suicide, she called her best friend a radical whore just cause she was not getting her way. I want her to stay away from Anthony. He will of course approve of his brother's choice to be happy but it's delusional when people think he will be a father figure to her. Keep dreaming.

The novels that Bridgerton is based on presents Penelope as a relatable character the reader can root for. In the name of drama, the writers of the show have done something different. They used the fact that Penelope is secretly Lady Whistledown to put her in unlikeable situations. Instead of trying to add complexity to her character that is. Hopefully, that will be remedied in s3.

During season one, Penelope was forced to use Lady Whistledown to reveal Marina’s secret pregnancy because she was tricking Colin into marriage. And also, let's make it clear. Marina did not try to kill herself, she tried to get rid of the baby. Two very different things. Yes, Marina was in a sympathetic situation because she believed the baby’s father abandoned her, but her actions were still wrong. Colin is a good person who doesn’t deserve to be manipulated, and divorce was not a viable option then. Various attempts by Penelope to stop things another way were unsuccessful. Then Marina convinced Colin to elope, so Penelope had to use Lady Whistledown as a last resort.

Season two Penelope has another difficult dilemma. Queen Charlotte herself threatens Eloise because she believes Eloise is Lady Whistledown. She gives Eloise three days to become her ally or face her wrath. Eloise is Penelope’s best friend, so, naturally, Penelope wants to protect her. Madame Delacroix suggests writing something Eloise would never write about herself, Penelope initially refusing. Seeing no other way out, however, she reveals Eloise’s meetings with Theo Sharpe. She never called her a radical whore.

You might think Penelope didn’t have to write these columns, but I have never seen a plausible alternative that would work in either situation for example. Colin was about to be tricked into a marriage of convenience, and Eloise was about to suffer the QUEEN's wrath.

And, yes, she may have said some not-so-nice things about Kate and some others, but, don't forget, she critiqued herself as well.

And, again, about your Anthony comment, you are so convinced that he is the morally perfect one because to you he's the best, so you end up putting far too much emphasis on the negative aspects of Penelope while purposely ignoring the positive attributes that made her so loved by so many others in the first place, but please go on about why this character sucks. but you will argue with the wall from here on out because I don't want to entertain you any longer honestly.

My Body: A Crime Scene

I was told the body is a temple. I was taught to treat my body like a temple. Sacred, Holy, somewhere God resides, somewhere a person can be at peace. But with time, the sacrality has begun to fade. It has become a realm of my internal demons, something sinister.

My body is now more of a crime scene than a temple.

I've put up barricade tapes around me. Of bright "when life gives you lemon" yellow and black. A cautionary measure for the lighthearted.

Some understand and stay away.

Others push right through like the case now belongs to them.

They say they've seen this before.

They say no amount of gore can keep them away.

They say they'll take care of it.

Only to realize it's bloodier than they could've imagined.

Multiple fingerprints, Multiple footprints: An evidence marker placed for every person I let walk all over me, and for every person, I gave my heart only for them to poke my wounds.

Blood: Numerous splatters, but all mine.

Weapons: Some sticks and stones, knives that I willingly handed over hoping they'd protect me, now covered in my blood and, a pen.

Many witnesses: Either dumb or hostile.

Signs of arson: Ashes of everything I burnt down. Pictures, letters, broken promises, false hopes, unfulfilled dreams.

And now, all that's left of me is a chalk outline. Everything else faded, picked apart or withered away.

My body is not a temple anymore. It isn't sacred or pure.

It's not a place I can stand barefoot.

It's now a place where I need a hazmat suit and gloves.
