I am super happy when authors reply to my comments. It’s definitely not an obligation. I am going to comment anyway. But it’s a total OMG moment when I actually get a reply :D I also really love reading comment replies by authors in general.

Why I love it! Gosh, one of my favorite things is authors getting inspired by other authors! Especially when they get excited about each other’s work! This interaction between Hawksquill and leftsidedown is literally the best of fandom vibes. It’s just awesome to look at how they are inspiring each other/lifting each other up. Zero insecurity, 100% generosity and just pure passion for each other’s work! <3

Why I love it! OMG! I have been trying to write a comment on this fic for like months now. But I just don’t even have the words. Also @danpuff-ao3 says literally everything I was feeling! BUT! The best part is the reply! Honestly! PI is incredible in how much she shares not just about her writing process/how she sees the characters but also about giving encouragement/celebrating others. So generous <3 This comment + reply is one of my feelgood reads when I just want to soak in Snape love and fandom love <3 Because these are the types of interactions which make fandom so magical!!!

Why I love it! It’s a reply to my comment! But also! Pauraque is honestly the one of the most generous people I probably met in fandom. Really really willing to take the time to explain the process that went into the fic/general meta. A lot of writers can be definitely hesitant to explain the process. Pauraque takes even like the most stupid questions and gives it the most meta answers which blow your mind and teach you something new.

 Why I love it! Because!!! Eldritcher is definitely the GOAT of comment replies. They use the comment reply to make you feel seen/valued/important/special/like they connect with you. In this one it’s not even about the fic. It’s really meta and the sort of open vulnerability which you are never going to forget because of how it made you feel when you read it for the first time. Because the community in a fandom isn’t just about events/reblogs. It’s also definitely about how stories can have a lot of vulnerability, meaning and healing...not just for the reader but also for the writer.

Why I love it! I really adore how the meta comment discussion  about the concept of  “restriction” also being a comfort/support sometimes esp in the context of the fic. A “restriction” can be definitely internal...like a comfort zone because we are scared to go outside that box.  Kelly can work multiple levels of meaning not just into her fics but also into explaining them in the discussion. Honestly if Kelly was my professor in something I would definitely have been a better student.
