besides the hobbit/lotr/bagginshield, old hollywood is one of my favourite things ever and I often when watching a film, create scenarios with bilbo and thorin like I love to relate characters to them, or situations and I start to think "ohh bilbo would so do this to thorin" or "this is something thorin would say to bilbo" but my favourite thing must be when a love between the characters in a film is so beautiful I desperately need a bagginshield fanfic with that exact love story.

what are some themes you love writing about?

But besides that, hmm. Toxic relationships (and I don’t mean ships; though sometimes I might mean ships as well), vicious circles, violence not being recognized as such, generational trauma, religion being done wrong, dehumanization, you know. The fun stuff. And also just blorbos being terrible people. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I can make them worse.

what inspires you to write?

Hyperfixation, just like in case of everyone on this hellsite. Sometimes anger with how many things must have been omitted in canon, and the need to see the ugly consequences of things that got mentioned in passing and never explored. Frustration with the saccharine way fandom handles some issues.

But often it's just traumadumping and projecting onto characters. Look, I’m a simple person.

what are your strengths wrt writing?

Well, I do fancy myself not terrible at unreliable narration. And while I have a lot of trouble coming up with actual plot and things that could happen, I feel quite comfortable while discussing the absolute minutiae, the most mundane things, and the way we focus on them instead of dealing with the big, life-changing questions. I think I know how to make the narration grounded.

I love everything about them. Despite the scandals, rumours, shenanigans, pre and post breakup, their imperfections and every negative thing that’s been said about them. No band is perfect, but in my eyes they’re more than perfect and that’s all a girl could ever wish for.
