Please note this is how I interpret the storyline, based on what they told me, in their somewhat limited English, so I cannot guarantee that it’s completely accurate, but it gives a rough idea!

Genos loses his memory after Saitama accidentally hits him. After he wakes up, his personality gets confused. He is influenced by a children’s TV show, which makes him speak like a child. When he spots comics, he turns bad-mouthed and violent. As he is influenced by the story of love between a man and a woman, he talks about love to Fubuki.

He then settles as a “bearish boy” (not sure what my friend meant by this, lol!). Saitama accepts Genos as he is for the moment being but Genos leaves their apartment on an impulse. He’s invited to Fubuki but escapes.

Genos then encounters a monster that manipulates the weather. He is unable to fight but receives a lightning shock, after which he remembers everything.

My friend raised some questions - Genos appears to sweat in the OVA, which he shouldn’t be able to do. They describe him as a “timid boy” which doesn’t seem to fit with previously given information that his personality was always the same.

So I saw Wonder Woman today...

And oh my god it was great, it was so REFRESHING to see. If you have any interest in it and you like superhero films, go seee itttt and bring your mum with you, because my mum LOVED it and was shocked that she loved it so much. 

It was probably the most cohesive super hero movie I’ve seen for a while. It was like: hint of back story, quest set, main plot motion/character development, quest complete, final wrapping up of thoughts. (reminded me of captain america)

I think the thing that I loved was that it took the idea of ‘do it for love, for innocents, for women and children’ and had that as the core motive for Diana. She acts according to her moral compass, ignores what the dudes say (despite them seeing that shes basically indestructible and 'its too dangerous’ is literally null in her case). Diana views herself as an Amazon, not as a woman, which is super interesting to see how she comes from a matriarchy (a literal paradise) and explores the patriarchy (war torn AF). (Amazons are super interesting in themselves; think Sparta crossed w matriarchy). 

Other thoughts:

It felt like watching a visual representation of red lipstick, leather jackets, high heels.

THERE WAS NO CLEAVAGE. Literally the armour they wear is so that boobs stay in place, no jiggling, looks cute, is functional AF. (Spartan women were famously called thigh flashers for a reason; its a lot easier to exercise in either a lose skirt or a mini skirt; Amazons went for the mini skirt option). (Amazons also burnt off a boob so it was easier to fire arrows #hardcore). 

The fight scenes. Jesus Christ THE FIGHT SCENES. THAT is how you do an aristea. It was SO badass.
