Tbh I think as much as u can read into the other members of wxs being lonely before they found each other emu often gets ignored like. She’s been working at PXL since she was a little kid. She’s super social and outgoing and extroverted but the story treats everyone she talks to at her highschool like new acquaintances. My hot take in general is rui 🤝 emu 🤝 tsukasa 🤝 nene as the kids nobody wanted to be friends with (nene less so because she’s not weird as hell like the rest of the clowns. more so bc she’s very withdrawn) which is very sweet. I’m so glad they found each other (ugly crying). But I feel like it tends to get ignored unless people are talking about tsukasa or rui. Tbf a lot of rui’s arc is about experiencing isolation from his peers (so you kinda have to talk abt that to talk abt rui) but people are so much more willing to read into tsukasa also being isolated from his peers (a fair assumption given his lack of friends) than they are emu (who despite being portrayed as a social butterfly had nobody to relate to & no friends she talks abt until she met tsukasa & by extension nene and rui). Going insane going crazy etc emu had nobody else to share her dreams with and nobody else she could really talk to until wxs just like tsukasa but nobody cares abt this. Bc everyone reads the surface level silly girl characterization and refuses to read between the lines of her being Too Much for her peers like tsukasa & rui were. Esp given how little her family cared abt her dreams like just imagining little emu being like I want to restore the wonder stage & keep PXL in like with grandpas dreams being met with her brothers’s & dad’s scorn makes me so insane. I love that fucking Thang. The Creature. The Silly. Emu Ootori you are so special to me forever and always.
