I have often been told that the universe started with a bang - a large explosion that is still expanding. But how would this universe end? I wanted to juxtapose the composite and loud beginning with a slow and quiet end. “This is the way the world ends, not with a bang but a whimper,” The Hollow Men by T.S. Eliot. I imagine time to be as old as the universe.

my mom is gone at her monthly book club so my dad and i are left to fend for ourselves which translates (usually) into getting fried chicken and listening to the radio all night and doing the crossword together over beers. and then because we share the autistic father daughter bond i explain acoustic seismology and he tells me about local bridge construction projects while we do the dishes

TW: Maternal abuse/ verbal abuse/ Forced food consumption

I just had a realization while having lunch with my dad and I just want to quote his reaction versus my mom's about me just eating a slice of a pizza I suggested ( having been asked to because we're both going to eat it) and not wanting to eat more because I was full.

Mom: "I can't believe you made me buy a whole pizza so you wouldn't want to eat it! That's why I never take you out. Come on! Eat!" She forced to eat more and I got sick (Last week)

Dad: "Oh? You're done? Okay, let me finish my beer and we'll take it home." We did as he said and he bought a coke for me to drink in the way back (30 minutes ago)

It really isn't difficult.
