Old af Ship
I'm a fool, I forgot about this ship!! It's really old but here it is anyway:
@notsolong-pause: Male ship, the golden trio era, I’m female, blonde, shoulder-length hair. I’m pretty short: 5’2 and slightly plump (like my top part is rather thin, but then I have checks and full thighs and that what can make me look bigger, than I am and I have like million insecurities bc of that) Also I have heterochromia (one eye - grey, the other one - bright green), I am a proud ravenclaw (wit & wisdom as they say :), my patronus is a crow. I love embroidery, reading, sun (and everything related, I am obsessed with sun, I guess)), I am a coffee addict and I LOVE green apples, although many people say they are too sour. I’m an introvert, which means in my case that I love to talk and have conversations about million things, but only with those, who I find “the right people for me”, and I’m useless in small talks. I’m rather talkative, tho, if not with people who I don’t know. But I’m not completely awkward. I hate when people are disrespectful towards anyone at all. I love things with stories, old things. I’m almost incapable of communicating with guys who are also shy, bc the whole thing is just awkward and I hate awkwardness with my whole heart. I’m almost never angry and I hope I can make something big one day. Which makes me a mad dreamer, I guess. And I value great mind a lot. That’s the most important things, I guess. Especially an Apple part XD
I ship you with:
Fred Weasley!
You hated rude people, especially those who were rude for no reason at all. And Draco Malfoy happened to fall under that category
Appearently the younger boy thought he could embarrass one of your bestfriends infront of an entire class.
And while your blood boiled your shy nature kept you from doing anything but glare at the platinum blonde.
Thankfully someone did manage to feed your hunger for revenge with some sort of pimple potion. Seeing Draco covered in the ugly warts for a week definitely eased your pain
You didn't actually know who it was until a few days later when Draco and his gouls cornered Fred and George outside the great hall
You had watched as the younger tried to pick a fight with the twins who did nothing but laugh and make fun of him
When Draco pulled out a wand things got serious. The twins seemed hesitant to raise their own weapons (knowing the consequence would be detrimental considering their mother)
You on the other hand were less so. The anger you had built up Spilled from the tip of your wand in a knock back jinx
Both the twins had been a bit stunned when Draco was sent flying backwards, eyes turning to you who's wand was still out
You quickly stuffed it away people rushing away as Snape appeared at the end of the hallway
In seconds the entire area was thrown into darkness. You were confused to say the least attempting to make your way through the black smoke
Your arm was suddenly caught and you were dragged down the hallway eventually emerging from the darkness to see the twins beaming infornt of you
Fred immediately began to gush about how bad ass you were, causing your cheeks to go red and your eyes find the floor
He stopped midsentence when catching a glance of your embarrassed face. Your flushed checked and shy gaze was one of the most adorable things he had ever witnessed
Thankfully George broke the sudden silence and the moment passed
Fred thought about you a lot all of the sudden. When ever he would talk to you you would get flustered and avoid his gaze and he couldnt help but love it
You reminded him of a shy puppy, yet you had jinxed Malfoy, it was enduring to say the least
You ended up studying together per request of Fred and found out he was actually crazy smart.
What used to be a small crush bloomed into something more as you grew closer, elbows started bumping while jotting down notes and soon his arm was around your shoulder
George liked to pick on Fred beyond belief, finding his infatuation with you hilarious
He asked you to the yule ball but made it unclear weather you were going as friends or not
You assumed it was and Fred was sure he just scored a date with you
He was dumbfounded when you appeared outside your common room in a stunning lace ball gown
He managed to make it through the first few hours with out kissing you like crazy, of course you were oblivious to his struggle assuming you were still just friends
Dancing was a bit awkward at first, neither of you all that good at it and both of you were flushed by the proximity of the other
After a song or two you voted used to it, and it became fun instead of stressfull
Just as one of the last songs were ending Fred tightened his grip on your waist and closed the distance between you.
You were stunned by the kiss, in momentary shock as his lips moved against yours
Your lack of response led Fred to belive he had made a mistake pulling away quickly and stuttering out apologies as you tired to figure out what was going on
When you caught onto his rambles and their meaning you panicked and simply pulled him down to kiss you again
That cleared things up
Protective Boyfriend™
No body talks shit about you without getting their ass beat
He's really into PDA, doesnt care who's watching. If you're uncomfortable with it then he will cut back on his affection in public
Gets a jealous but doesnt let it show all that much. He trusts you completely he's just scared of losing you
You guys have dates outside all the time, by the lake, in the forest, at hogsmade just walking around for the hell of it

2019-04-19 - 09:00-12:00 - The Midway
The Midway returns for its annual one and only Friday show of the year, April 19, 2019. The theme: funeral songs. For some, a sombre or pithy reflection. For others, a sentimental soundtrack - or even a jolly celebration. Some of these songs have become legends unto themselves, while others have birthed new traditions. Enjoy a wickedly woke wake as we explore some famous funeral tunes, and invite listeners to get in touch with their own bury melodies.

The Leap
Here I go, writing my first blog again for the 7th time in the last 6 years. Never been a guy who keeps up with his work regularly. Always used to doubt the articles which I had written and that’s the end of it. As I gulp the first sip of my favorite drink, I promise to myself that it’s going to be different this time.
Now if I think about it, doing Engineering and writing the blog are pretty much similar. It seemed very Cool before starting and looks very scary once you are in. You had 100’s of options before selecting a career or a topic then you feel a tingle, a leap of faith, which takes you to specific thing whether it’s right one or not. That’s what I want to talk today. A leap of faith which brought all of us till today to where we are and where we are going to be in the later years.
Remember the older days, you had big dreams. Dreams which began with becoming an Astronaut or a President then those dreams kept falling as the years fell apart. Why do think that’s happen? Was that the part of Adulting? or, did we really give up before even trying to be that guy? Or is it just the part of life? Or it’s the responsibilities? Whatever it is, does it really matter?! Now that we are here don’t you think we must carry it out from here? Too many questions I guess. But worth it!
Leap of faith, it’s all about that. We were not sure or we will never be sure, we just know that it’s feels right for that moment. Doing that right thing for that moment is the only best option which we will have because we don’t know about the better option. You just got to close your eyes and jump. Because nobody will be ever sure what life is all about and will never figure out. And it seriously doesn’t matter I guess. And all I want to say here, “Take that leap. Go Explore the world & Read. You will always go someplace new, meet new people, drink some Whiskey with all your friends/Girlfriends/Boyfriends, fall in love & love madly”.
“Everything will be interesting if you go deeply into it enough” – Quote from some book I don’t remember.
After all these paragraphs, I’m about to sign off my first one and post it in the blog. I took that leap I guess. Not bad for the 7th time, finally. If I can do this and obviously, you all can. So, do try and come back here and thank me.

Pain and stitches

This wasn’t requested, I wrote this a while ago. Hope you’ll like it :) Feedback is appreciated  !
Tumblr media
You were with Nick and the next second you were attached at a table, pain radiating through your skull. This pain was familiar. You felt it when you fell down the stairs at your house years ago, or when a vampire knocked you out during one of your first hunts. It was obvious: someone had hit your head pretty hard. Your eyes were still closed because of the pain but as soon as you understood what was happening, they were wide opened. Your mind wasn’t clear, you were thinking slowly. Being tied to a table couldn’t possibly be a good thing. The only thing you could do, besides screaming (which you didn’t do), was getting rid of the rope against your ankles and wrists. You tried to, the rope biting, cutting and burning your skin but it was too strong. That's when Nick appeared.
Dean and Sam were taking care of the gouls when all you could feel was your energy running out of your body like the blood dripping down from your slipped open wrists. You tried to get out of the rope but it only made your blood drip faster. Being helpless and motionless was unbearable. You felt useless. When the noises finally stopped, you figured that the boys had finished killing the things. You were starting to feel dizzy.
"Guys." Your hoarse voice surprised you.
You heard another hit before Sam arrived. You could see in his eyes that he was still pumping with adrenaline. That's the only reason why you couldn't see any pain and guilt. He can't help but feel like he has to protect you in any circumstances, but he can't. And that's during cases like this that he suffers the most. You had been alone for 20 minutes, and yet something bad happened to you and you hated it.
When Sam pushed you upward, your head started to spin and you felt weak and tired. Your wrists were painful and bloody. Your head started to fall, your neck not holding it straight any longer.
"Y/n, hey !" His big hands came to keep you straight as you were holding your wrists in front of you. So much blood was dripping from them.
"I'm okay. Just.." Another wave of emptiness crushed on you and you felt like you were leaving your body, your eyes rolling behind your eyelids.
"Dean ! Stay with me Y/n." He screamed his brother’s name. You know how much he hates to see you like that. You know that he is always afraid that you won't wake up. So, with your last strengths, you tried to reassure him.
"Just passing out Sam." Your voice was nothing but a whisper. You wanted to throw up. "I'm just pass..." And you got swallowed by the darkness.
Pain. Blank. What happened ? You could feel pressure on your wrists. Am I tied up again ? Your heart started to race and you opened your eyes, moving your arms before moaning in pain.
"Hey hey shhh that's okay, we're almost there."
You looked up and saw Sam's face. We are in the car. He slowly caressed your skull with one of his hand. Oh fuck. I'm not stitch up yet. One of Sam's hand was on your wrists, making pressure on the red towels.
"Please tell me you stitched me up. Tell me I'm clean at least." You whined.
"I'm sorry babe, we're almost at the motel." His voice reflected his concern, and you felt how his hands in your hair and on your wrists were shaking. He was in so much pain at this moment. His eyes were switching between the road, you, the road, your wrists, you, the road. He was also biting his lips.
"Sam, I'm good." You needed to reassure him.
"I know." His nervous voice wasn't saying so.
"No, you don't. It's just a lot of blood. I'm good." Your voice was weak. "Dean, tell him that I'm good."
"Let's patch you up and we'll see later." Dean wasn’t helping, of course. He was too busy, trying to get you as fast as possible to the motel.
The next second, you were parked in front of your motel room. You were so tired.
"Let's go." Sam took you in his strong arms and you felt like you were as heavy as a feather. The dizziness took over your body as they rushed you inside.
"In the tub." Only Sam heard you. He put you in the tub and went to get the first aid kit while Dean grabbed a bottle of alcohol. He held the bottle as you swallowed a good amount of it, feeling the burn in your body. Some of it was dripping on your chin but it didn’t matter in the instant. You knew what was coming. You had witnessed it many times but never experienced it as being the wounded person.
"Bite in it." Dean pushed his belt in your mouth and Sam arrived in the room. You felt the towels going off of your arms. It was not painful but you prepared yourself for what was coming. You looked at the ceiling, already biting in the belt.
"Ready ?" Dean's voice was determined, like always. He always knows how to do things.
"Do it." For a small second, it was just the feeling of cold liquid on your wound. And then, the pain rushed and radiated through your arms, causing your breath to get caught in your throat before you started to scream. You tried to hold your screams back. They are living this all the time and you felt stupid, showing your pain when all they do is groan when injured. That was just your very first bad injury.
Even if it was covered by your screams, you heard Sam repeating the same thing all over again. "Please pass out, please pass out, please pass out." like an incantation. And, fortunately, you did.
When you woke up, you could still feel the pain in your arms but nothing compared to the alcohol passage. You were laying on your back, your arms at the side of your body. They were wrapped in bandages and you could feel how dirty in dry blood you were. You were alone in the motel room. Are they back on a hunt ? No, not without me. You felt your stomach twitch as the hunger felt the need to manifest itself. Of course you are hungry, you need to eat. That’s one of the natural need you tend to forget.
Slowly, you sat on the edge of the bed and stayed there, staring at your bandages. You didn’t want to see your wounds. It was certain that under those bandages your wrists could only be disgusting, awfully stitched. It was a stupid thing, but at the moment you were only worried about the fact that you were going to have scars for the rest of your life. You would have to tell every guy you were going to end up naked with that you are not a suicidal girl, that those scars ended here because of an accident. Deep down, you were hoping that the guys had improved on their stitching game and that the stitches had been done correctly. The sound of keys on the door stopped all those stupid thoughts from running through your mind and you grabbed the gun under your pillow, hissing at the pain.
"Hey, easy tiger." Dean joked, as usual, as you put the gun down. The first thing you noticed was the bags in his hands.
"I'm starving. Is it food ?"
"She is definitely doing better." He laughed.
"Yes, it's food." Sam answered your question and helped you get up. You leaned on him for a minute, the world spinning around you. Your head was on his chest as he was holding you by the shoulders. Just for a minute, you closed my eyes and enjoyed the feeling of his hands on you.
"Come on. You need to eat." His tone surprised you. You nodded and took a step away, walking on your own towards the table in the room. Dean had already started to eat his burger. You grabbed one in the bag with a pack of chips and sighed as you took a bite.
"Is it good ?" Sam asked as he took a seat next to you.
"Actually, not very but I'm too hungry to care."
After you ate, Dean had the kindness to leave you alone with Sam while he went outside to a bar. You know it because you heard the door slammed whilst you were getting undressed in the bathroom. You needed a shower. As always, you didn't lock the door. It's a rule between the three of you. You share one room, almost always come back wounded and with all the crap you are all dealing with it’s reassuring to keep it unlocked. Also, you have blind faith in each other. It’s essential during hunts to trust your partners.
The water started to run down your body. It quickly turned red with all the blood on you. Your bandages were still on you. You were so scared to take them off. When you were 17 you burned your ankle riding a bike. Several times, your bandage was glued to your wound and you had to pull it off. It hurt. Nothing compared to what you felt earlier but it's still pain. The curtain of the shower moved and you turned around, seeing Sam joining you. Your heart started to beat fast because of the surprise, but kept its rhythm because of the amazing man in front of you. Gently, he pushed your hair out of your face and his eyes drifted on your arms. You knew that he was blaming himself for those wounds. Slowly, he took the bandages off. It didn't hurt at all but you couldn't look away from your arms.
"I'm sorry, I did what I could."
"That's good. Don't be sorry, that's really good."
You know that because you were in med school before you became a hunter. It won't leave a mark that bad. When you plunged your gaze in his, you saw all the hurt and guilt he was feeling. You cupped his face with your hands and made him look at you in the eye.
"Sam."
"I should have protected you." He blurted it out, looking down.
"You did. Sam, that's okay."
You took a few steps back and took him with you under the water. Like before, you posed your head on his chest, your hands against it as he wrapped his strong arms around you.
"I love you."
His hold on you became tighter and he posed his head on yours. You started to cry silently, the tears running down with the hot water.
"I love you so much." His voice was nothing but a murmur. You kissed his chest softly and caressed his skin with your hands. You stayed like that a few minutes before you got out. You were clean of my blood. Quickly, you put your pajamas on and went to bed. Sam took a little more time to get out of the shower. As soon as he was out, he went to bed. You were sitting crossed leg in the middle of the bed and he sat next to you.
"You know that I'm okay, right ?"
His emotions were still visible in his eyes.
"Sam, it's not your fault. Please."
He didn't answer and kept staring at his hands.
"I know we'll have to talk but I'm really tired. Can we just cuddle and sleep ? Please ?"
Your only wish at that time was to fall asleep in his arms, forget about the awful day and the argument to come. To forget about your life just for one night. He sighed and got under the blanket, you did the same. You both tried to take a comfortable position against each other without causing too much pain. You may have two long wounds on your wrists but he got hit too. Some bruises there and a bloody eyebrow here. Nothing too bad but it's always pain. Finally, he hugged you from behind, his breath crashing against your neck as you tangled your legs and squeezed his hand tight. An argument was to come, you knew it for sure, but at least you were alive, the both of you alive and together for one more day.

Some wear rings, he wears a ridiculous (lowkey gorgeous) bright red strand on his hair
In which Party Poison can be very seductive and convincing. Title by Fall Out Boy.
-----------------
"Why would you want to fucking do this to my hair?" That was Fun Ghoul's way of saying he was absolutely weary because of that idea. A guy couldn't stick his tongue down other killjoy's mouth anymore and suddenly he needed a red streak in his hair, in Party Poison's conception, though.
Not that guy, a guy who was meant to stick his tongue only down his throat. Not that he'd ever admit it, obviously.
"It won't hurt you asshole, just let me do it already! It's just a streak, not even the entire deal, what're you chickening about??" Poison bit back, hands on his waist like he was seducing all about. Perhaps he was; Ghoul had to look away.
"Aw man but my hair is so nice and you'll-"
"If you say I'll ruin it I swear I'm gonna bleach the hairs in your ass, Ghoul." The redhead hissed, not at all willing to swallow such personal offense; his hair was not ruined, thank you very much. Not in the slightest. If it had been, why would Ghoul like to rake his hand through it so much?
He literally did it all times.
“Fine fine, but why do you wanna do it so bad?”
Then the most pointless of all arguments in the Zones, quite literally, ensues:
“You lost a bet!” Party says.
“What bet??” Ghoul replies, throwing his hands up.
“You were drunk!”
“Then tell me what bet!”
“I was drunk too! How would I remember, Ghoulie dearest?” The ginger chuckles.
“GAHH!” Ghoul turns and rakes a hand through his own hair, eyerolling so badly his eyes could as well apply for a job as mar balls. Party was grinning like nobody’s business though, he knew he’d won this one (even if Ghoul was definitely not falling for the bet story). “Fine, whatever, let’s just do it already!”
That’s basically how now they’re in a bathroom of sorts, and Party’s hair dye is all over the place, as well as Kobra’s bleach (he can kill Party for it later, there are more important matters that demand his attention for now). There’s an awful smell of chemistry and Ghoul is sitting down with the blonde strand in his hair, examining it in the mirror like he’s looking at the third head he’s growing.
“This looks terrible.” He cries, and Party rolls his eyes.
“It’s because it’s Kobra-yellow.” The redhead laughs, mocking Kobra, obviously, and Ghoul can’t help but stifle a laugh as well.
“If my hair falls I’m holding you accountable and I’ll stick my loaded gun into your ass.”
“Please do.” It’s totally predictable but Ghoul hadn’t had the time to think he might answer that, so he flushes, like the power bottom he is. Fucking shit red matching Party’s hair now all over his face.
It’s a joke, of course, because Party has Ghoul begging to be fucked whenever and wherever he is. Thinking about this gets Ghoul wandering so far he doesn’t notice Party’s hand is already on his hair, fucking the red up that yellow strand, that bright red.
It’s really fucking bright.
“You gotta wait forty minutes unt-” Party doesn’t finish the sentence because, just as he wanted it to be, Ghoul’s mouth was suddenly pressed to his and his tongue was fucking the breath out of him like he was trying to get the last breath of the Zones out of him.
Forty minutes was pretty enough for Party to almost break Ghoul. They don’t slides their clothes back on after it, no sir; they messily walk (Ghoul limps, but other than that they make it just fine) to the shower and Party turns the water on, glad they’ll be having that. You never know just what your last shower might be.
The ginger even tries to get some hot water out of it but it’s no good, so cold water it is. I’m hot enough to heat Goul up anyway. He thinks, a smudge grin playing on his mouth as he pulls Ghoul into shower and just lets the still-panting killjoy rest with his arms against the wall as he rinses out the hair dye off the strand.
“I don’t like to flatter myself-”
“Quite a lie, there.”
“-but this looks fucking amazing.” Party giggles, and washes himself with some soap and washes Ghoul thoroughly as well before turning off the shower. There’s no time for much hair washing, Party had washed his hair last week already. No need for it again.
“Cmere.” There’s a towel on Poison’s hands and he pulls Ghoul right into it, the boy complies and groans a bit as he not-so-carefully dries his hair.
“For a hairstylist, you’re an awesome gunner.”
“I’m taking that as a compliment.”
“Don’t.” Ghoul grins menacingly at him and shakes his head after Party combs it, ruining all of the work done but not so much because his hair isn’t all tangled up and it’s a tidy sort of messy now. He looks in the mirror.
“How fucking amazing am I? This looks fantastic.”
Surprisingly, Ghoul smiles at him. “Yeah you kind of did a good job. Matches yours.” He states, bluntly, but it’s like suddenly he understands why. Possessive Poison should be his name. Maybe Possessive Party Poison; they could call him Triple P. “Is that what this was all about? Wanting to match yours to make some sort of possessive statement?”
“Well I wouldn’t say possessive, I’d say... Uhm, reassuring.” Party shrugs, but the smug grin is still there, it never falters. Rare were the times when Ghoul, or anyone, has seen Party without a grin plastered to his face.
“You’re such a knobhead, you sasquatch. Was this because of Pony?”
“No?”
“Right.”
Party is about to give a real good comeback, he really is, something smart and witty and whimsical, not at all ironic, not at all cocky, but he doesn’t get this far. He doesn’t get there because there’s that hand again, the rough fingers raking through his red hair and they’re pulling, and they’re fucking needy and it’s all Poison knows; it’s all he needs. Again, not that he’d ever admit.
Now Ghoul has something on his hair that makes Party feel like he’s successfully claimed him, though, and it gives him a satisfaction that couldn’t ever be explained now. And he thinks about it into the kiss, and it makes him smirk; Ghoul doesn’t object, he’s all used to his grins by now, they just continue. And fuck, they continue.
Party loves that red streak and it’s just one more way to claim that Ghoul was his. Should be, at least. Was more his than anyone else’s. Like the fact they fucked constantly, touched eachother all the time (even the slightest brush of hands would do) and would certainly die for eachother didn’t make a statement there.
But Party was just an idiot. A very possessive idiot.

Sorry if this fucking sucks oh my God I’m posting this to Ao3, if anyone likes it leave me an ask

Surviving
Fandom: Supernatural & Walking Dead
Pairing: Dean x Oc
Waring: Language and a bit violence (it’s supernatural and walking dead duh)
A/N: This is kinda a story idea. I´m probably gonna write more to this but no idea.
Part 1
My Name is Katy Dixon-Singer. After running from my abusive farther and my two older brothers I met a man named Bobby Singer. I was about seven years old by then.
Bobby taught me a lot. He told be how the world really is and to hunt the things that go bump in the night like werewolves, vampires or ghosts. Yes, they all exist.
One day when Bobby, who I started to call dad, and I came home from shooting practice, the doorbell went off. “Dad?” I asked. He got a flask of Holy Water and went towards the door while I loaded a shotgun.
He opened the door and a man stood in front of it with two boys. “John” Dad said. “Bobby” the man in front of the door said. My dad splashed a bit of Holy water against the three and the cut in their fingers with a silver knife then he let them in.
As they walked in I unloaded the shotgun and put it to the sid which caught the attention of the three. “Who’s that?” The man, John, said. “Katy, my adoptive daughter.” Das answered. “Katy those are John Winchester with his sons Dean and Sam. Dean is a year older than you, sam three years younger.” He explained to me.
John had talked with my dad for a while and then he left leaving his sons with us. That happened more often during the years and although I don’t talk much I got very close to the two brothers.
When Sam went off to collage I stayed with Daen and we hunted together. We got even closer but there weren’t any romantic feelings. From neither of us.
As John went missing I started to hunt on my own while Dean and Sam searched for their farther.
Later we startes to hunt together again and we were a good team. Till the Apocalypse. While the Angels hunted our asses, the brothers were always fighting. Sam was supposed to be the Vessel of Lucifer while Dean was supposed to be the one of Michael.
As Sam then fell into Hell to save us he made Dean and me promise to have a normal life. While Dean went to a woman he once loved, Lisa, and her son Ben, I went to be a cop. I know, the irony of that. I had been to prison with the brothers and was a criminal in the eyes of the FBI bit with a fake identity, I managed to become a cop. I even met a few friends, a man named Rick and his family.
Sam then came back and we all hunted together again. While we found out that Sam was soulless I started to notice that I developed feelings for the older Winchester.
We got Sams soul back and it all got a mess. I sold my soul when Dean died and went to hell but Castiel, an Angel and friend of ours got me out, like he once got out Dean when he sold his soul to safe Sam.
At first Dean was angry with me but that he was just happy that I was back and we he admitted feelings for me too, but the happiness didn’t last long because my dad died. We had to fight the Leviathans and it was one hell of a fight which resulted me, Dean and Cas to land in Purgatory.
I was injured while we landed there and mainly unconscious in the first weeks in purgatory. Dean took care of me and when I was healthy again we started to hunt the monsters in there to find Cas, who was missing.
We met a Vampire called Benny and made a Deal with him to get him out with us if he showed us the portal to go out. During tge journey there we found Castiel and we got out with Benny but Cas stayes behind.
Dean and I had been in Purgatory for a year and went to look for Sammy when all hell broke loose, the Dead started to not stay dead but become goul like creature only that they were extremely dumb.
As we found Sam we had to flee from a large horde of Dumb-Gouls and I was separated from the brothers. I landed on a campsite and thats were this story starts….

What I now know...
After having lived on the road for two years in an rv. With limited home space, limited money, and what seemed like unlimited access to freedom, we realized something, holidays are bogus. With the exception to the birth of Christ’s celebration, which however does take place in the wrong month.
Which is besides the point.
The commercial holidays, the make belief idolizing holidays. That take the focus away from God and place it back on ourselves, once again.
Halloween, which teaches us that who we are isn’t good enough so we need a day to either pretend we are dead and rotting away with ghosts and gouls or a complete stranger from our own.
Easter which takes the focus away from the power of Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection and it places it on a weird rabbit that lays eggs that we then send our children to hunt for. (Scratches head).
How about Valentine’s Day? Which tells us that it’s ok to ignore your spouse for 364 days, but this is the day you have to remember to buy them heart shaped things they don’t need so they feel special. (Rolls eyes).
This needs to be happening regardless of a man made holiday. What about your anniversary? Can’t that be your one big celebration for the two of you? Does it have to be some random day in February too? St. Patrick’s Day? Do we even know why we celebrate this? As an American I’m not sure, as a kid I thought it was another excuse for adults to get plastered while wearing green. Now on to Christmas, I love Christ, abundantly, I owe my life, my salvation, everything to Him! The holiday has been morphed into a self centered agenda once again. “ it’s all about me!” Who’s a good boy? Oh you are!? Ok here’s a toy you’ll forget you have three months from now. I’m glad we bought you that.
I love it, you know, being showered with extra affection from time to time, but that’s what my birthday is for, and our anniversary. Which we should share with affection, love and celebration that God brought us together. Do I need a decorated dead tree to tell Christ I love him? Is the tree even for him? Is it an idol that we decorate and sing about instead of celebrating the love of Jesus? Does it take away from our Lord? It’s beautiful! Yes it really is, but does it Glorify God? And Santa? Who is he? Why is he climbing down chimneys? Why is he watching over us? That’s Gods job alone. I think we need to redirect our attention on Christmas as not so much as what I can get, but what can we give? Let’s redefine Christmas as living extra Christ like. Mas= more, so we need to live More like Christ! We need to go out and clothe each other and prepare big meals to share with our neighbors. Not just ourselves !
This is what the true meaning of Christ-more! Should be. Not gaudy decorations glorifying a false god. Idolizing an overweight gentleman that watches our children sleep and brings them gifts if they are “ good” and coal if they are “bad”. It’s a perverted message we are teaching our children. Celebrating false idols. Decorating our home with death or a weird old man.
I say we take back our holidays and use them to glorify God, and God alone!
Thanksgiving, giving continual thanks to God. Christmas, living more like Christ. New Years, celebrating the life God gave us. Valentines, celebrating the unconditional love of Christ! Good Friday! Praising our king for his sacrifice on the cross Easter! Shouting to the heavens that He is alive!!!!! It has to start with us, we have to be willing to make a sacrifice in our routines in order to seek Gods glory! What good can you do with the money you don’t spend on a once a year decoration idolizing a false god. When we could go out and help feed the homeless, or treat a neighbor to a meal. Let’s live Christ- Mas everyday!!! Now your dream of having Christmas everyday can come true. Love, Loren
