The Western residency continued for Candy the 3.2, not only is the car back in the capable hands of @duanewik we got to spend a few days driving Vegas, visiting the original Downtown Vegas cars & coffee: @carsundkaffee Then Tuesday it was @SEMAshow time. Lowend is now an official SEMA member, thanks to everyone who supports the events, content and our merch. We caught up with long time Porsche peeps and met plenty of new folks who we plan to bring into our 2023 Chicago events (the calendar is already getting full, btw). Before we got out of Dodge, Lowend founder Adam Kern was invited on @derfaszination's ‘Der or Die’ Podcast to not only talk about the 3.2’s Western Residency, the history of Checkeditout and dish some dirt on all the @Porsche Podcasts he has been on. Apologies to @firstdibspodcast's @johndyste and @jts911 for keeping their show dirt free. Save the Date: September 24th. First things first. You knew we had to be working on something else to finish off the car season. Between us making the @overcrestproductions Rally in Idaho in a few weeks and attending Luft 8 with the 3.2 Carrera in October, we will be bringing you a new ‘coffee with cars’ type experience. We are not at liberty to discuss many details at this time, but it will be on the North Side of Chicago and the view will be excellent. We will create a camera worthy environment, because that is what we do, right? Keep your eyes on our social media and the newsletter. Be sure to share this with a friend. A special addition to this event, there will be a new merch drop on site. One last thing before we discuss the big @Porsche event, this little North Side #carparty of ours is open to all makes & models. What do you got? Send pics! This Saturday, the next Checkeditout happens at Alpha Garage, which will morph into the Napleton Porsche Classic Garage for the weekend. Check22 is free and open to the public. Car apps are long since closed. But you can expect to see a record number of Porsches, 300 individual owner cars along with all the various sponsor cars. Don’t forget the Porsche Classic Restoration Challenge is being held at Check22, the last ‘area’ final. Checkeditout joins Monterey Car Week and PCNA Headquarters in Atlanta to be the last of the three venues to host the Restoration Challenge. Fan voting will commence Saturday. Long overdue, @pixitake art has been on our project list for a few years. See Brian’s car in the Lowend section at Check22. @booker_youngblutt was a pleasure to work with. ✌🏼 Checkeditout’s post: We have been attempting to find a proper way to honor an original for quite some time. Someone who as a youngster, happened to find a bunch of Porsches ripping it up in the parking lot at Soldier Field. What would later be known to him as an ‘autocross.’ Teenage fascination led him to 914 ownership. And decades after that, Brian @pixitake would become a big part of what we do at Checkeditout. Brian is a member of the ‘Original Seventy,’ the group of @Porsche owners who made the inaugural @checkeditout happen. @booker_youngblutt is the second artist in our annual series of artist collabs. When Booker is not tattooing at Copperplate Tattoo in Avondale, he is also illustrating. His loves are much like our own, skateboarding, graffiti and essential music like Hip-Hop, Punk and Metal. We’re grateful to Booker for expressing the rawness of Brian’s 911 T, our city, and our event.
