The tact of truth

Warning : angst
Masterlist,next part
-----------------------
Those blood red eyes were what brought her back to reality. Could it really be that Michael had killed her best friend? He was led away and taken out of the hospital without turning back to her.
It seemed as if the whole spectacle of the night was about to befall her. The death, the arrest, the injury - it all seemed so untrue and yet there was no doubt about what she herself had seen. Detaching herself from the place, she went back to the hospital. She knew she was entering dangerous territory. But what she had experienced in the last few hours was anything but normal.
It briefly occurred to her that the stories of an alien monster were real, just like her brief encounter with Spiderman when he swung past her. But despite all that, what concerned Michael was even more dangerous. Because the monster inside him had a thirst for blood. For her blood
Breaking away from the place, she saw the blue light sirens reflecting in the windows before she went to the lifts. It was only when she pressed the buttons that she noticed the slight trembling of her fingers. And again she wished that Michael was with her to calm her symphony.
Getting out of the chair, she went into the lab, even though she knew what she was doing was not legal. Opening the door, she switched on the light by voice. With a box in her hand, she went to the lab area and stuffed files of findings and results into it.
Once Martine was released from the hospital, they would have to develop something together. Because she wouldn't make it on her own. They needed an antidote. As long as Michael was in custody, they would find a cure.
She was about to lift one of the machines when she noticed the stand with the drug. But where there should have been one, because she was sure that Michael had taken one of the two, there was none.
Panic spread through her and she vigorously searched for the small vial. She tore open drawers and rearranged everything before her gaze returned to the ceiling. ,, Milo" came from her lips and it dawned on her. He was the only one who must have taken her. It was obvious he had hate as his motive and rejection...because she didn't love him.
Grabbing the box, she walked as fast as she could out of the lab to escape the feeling of being watched. She didn't know where Milo was and yet she worried. Worried about Michael and Milo, what the latter would do once he too had turned into a vampire.
Two bats in a city dangerous to the blood they crave. Hurrying out of the chair, she left the hospital and tried to reach the policemen she knew outside. Unfortunately for her, they had already disappeared. Cursing, she reached for her mobile phone as she hailed a taxi. She typed the message to Martine about the box and the probably new information about the serum.
Nervousness and uncertainty about what would happen next permeated her. A bad tune when you don't have a derigent to guide you. Paying the driver, she hurried to her flat and when she got to her floor she stopped in front of her door. Her eyes flitted past the spot with the rose petal.
She thought My heart and blood do not belong to him, before quickly unlocking the door and putting her things there for the time being.  A sigh escaped her and her gaze went to the clock. Too late to be awake and too early to sleep.
Chaos in the darkness. The darkness seemed to embrace her and it was sweet and horrible at the same time. Her hand found its way into her pocket as she pulled out the policeman's card. She turned it over in her hand and the dark shield rippled in the light. Only when she saw the address of the prison did she realise where she had to go. She didn't know if she was allowed to see Michael, but special times require special measures.
She was about to leave her flat when something struck her. In fact, she noticed that something was missing. Turning to her little shelf, she saw that the rose petal was no longer there. "Milo" was her first thought as she approached the tray and looked at the floor. Maybe it had fallen or blown away. They were cheap excuses to deal with the dark bloody truth she knew. The red rose petal had disappeared and this feeling of being watched was suddenly unbearable.
Did it mean that he had already taken the remedy or was it not too late. Maybe it just turned to dust. Dust and ashes were all that remained of Michael in her dream. A horrible memory, a horrible dream. The thing that frightened her, apart from all the other things she had experienced in the last few hours, were the dreams that seemed to be real.
It was only when a shadow passed by her window that she fearfully released herself from her stupor and made her way to her car. "Let him not have taken the medicine yet," she thought as she looked up at the dark sky.
But the shadow seemed to be ahead or had disappeared into the darkness and was watching her.
Turning on the engine, she drove to the detention centre, even though she had never been there herself. Her hope of seeing Michael somehow was stronger.
But if she hadn't been so fixated on Michael, she would have seen the black limo in the shadows that belonged to someone she knew only too well.
Walking inside, she was greeted by little brighter than old flickering glow sticks. ,, May I help you, Miss?" a policeman asked her immediately. ,, Yes, I'd like to see Rodriguez, I'm involved in a case and he told me to contact him," she replied, hoping he wouldn't ask any more questions. ,, Ah, the weirdo, he's in an interrogation with some doctor right now. You can wait here until you're done, then he'll be there for you" he said and pointed to a shabby chair. Sighing and knowing she was finished, she sat down and picked up her mobile phone. As she looked at her hand, something came back to her. "When was the last time he had artificial blood?" she asked herself, cursing herself for not taking any of the artificial blood with her.
At least martine had answered her and agreed that they had to develop an antidote.
Minutes seemed to pass like hours as she stood there avoiding the eyes of the police officers and staring at her watch. It was only when she heard what appeared to be the bars of each section opening that she stood up, hoping it was Rodriguez. ,, That's just his lawyer," one of the policemen said casually and she was about to sit down again when someone else came towards her. Milo.
But what caught her eye was the missing walking stick and the shiny silver flask in his hand. His gaze was on the policemen before it was on her. There was no love there, rather there seemed to be a desire. A desire for her blood.
But there was no red in his eyes, he seemed so far normal. He looked handsome and beautiful no longer sick as he once was. And just like Michael, he seemed incredibly engaging and hypnotic. As with any vampire beauty comes at the price of another life. ,, Oh Y/n what are you doing here?" he asked softly as he came to a stop in front of her.
She knew she had to watch what she said. She knew he must have taken it, there was no way around it. But whether he had drunk blood, she prayed he had not. ,, I went to pick up some of my things from the police, they had taken some. I'm really glad to be back," she said, trying desperately to keep her heartbeat steady. It only made her more nervous.
His gaze seemed to pierce her. ,, Sure, you seem a little nervous, how about we get some fresh air," he suggested. Her gaze slid to the policemen, but they were no longer paying any attention to her. Nodding, she agreed even though everything inside her was screaming to get away from him. ,, You seem better," she said and tried to get something from him.
After they had stepped out of the prison, the night air came around them. It was cool and goose bumps formed on her skin. ,, Yes, you could say a miracle has happened," he said briefly and his gaze was on her again. ,, I'm glad to hear that," she replied briefly and somehow tried to calm down. ,,Tell me what happened on the ship?" he asked and she stopped.
Fear and nervousness entered her body. ,, What happened? The mercenaries went crazy," she lied and it took all her strength not to retreat. ,, You lie, Y/n, I can hear it in your treacherous heart. You smell of blood since you got off the ship," he said darkly and she saw his fangs flashing. ,, What have you done?" came incredulously from her lips as the truth hit like a blow. Disbelief and shock were in her gaze. ,, You-you killed Katrine," she stated, only to be met with an enchanted grin. ,, Caught," he quipped and came towards her.
She could have run, screamed, cried but her body would not react. ,, Clever girl," he praised and a shiver ran through her. The voice sounded darker, more vicious, more vengeful. The monster had emerged. The once beautiful appearance gave way to a mysterious monster.
She was still standing there, wreathed in fear, not knowing what to do. She would not be able to escape him anyway. ,, Milo, I can help you," she tried slowly, but was only met with rejection. ,, I don't think I want any help, Y/n," he said. His claw-like hand ran over the stone building next to them, leaving deep furrows.
Suddenly he stopped and his gaze went to the sky. Did he hear something? she asked herself, trying to grasp it, but for her there was only the sound of the city. ,, There you are at last," he said and Y/n knew it wasn't meant for her. She felt a breeze behind her before the ground vibrated briefly. ,, What have you done to yourself?" said Michael, who was standing behind her.
She saw his orange prison jumpsuit and noticed the dark stains on the top. She didn't have to think, she knew it was blood and that was what worried her. ,, I have evolved just like you, my old friend," Milo said and showed his fangs in a grin. ,, This is insane, you can't just kill people," Michael said and took a few steps towards his friend. ,, Insane then," Milo said as if he was thinking about the words. ,, Say who slaughtered the mercenaries like animals, it wasn't me," he reminded Michael. ,, He killed Katrine, Michael," Y/n said to her derigent. ,, Milo, let me help you," Michael tried after casting a sympathetic glance at his heart. I want your help but I am not meant to rule no we are meant to rule!" his temper changed and it happened.
It was almost too quick to catch and all Y/n felt was a cool quick breeze. As if the two were moving too fast again and leaping out of the smoke or shadows. Only when it was over did she see what seemed to have happened. Where Milo and Michael had just been standing there were cracks and the ground had risen up by sheer force of the two. She thought she could still feel the vibration in the floor. It was overwhelming.
But they were gone and she knew there was nothing she could do but pray and hope that Michael would return. And so she did, waiting in the dark night in her home, not taking her eyes from the door or the windows for fear the wrong vampire would come through and kill her for what she was carrying. Blood.

The sun sees ruins of old that have long been forgotten.
The decay of the land that lays desolate and rotten.
Beauty can be seen from the sheen of her rays.
No eyes lie praise amongst the living these days.
For those of haste with wasteful tongues, bicker bitter words of envy.
Blot out their eyes for those that despise my fall and my rise for tears shed their eyes.
For as I was in your beginning,
I shall to be in your end.
From the dust of the earth, you were birthed.
To the dust return all the accursed of no worth.
The faithful live for eternity.
While the faithless perish eternally.
My light can bring joy, and my light can bring pain.
How you decide to walk in life will be judged by my flame.

Crown Character Roster
Tumblr media
Just a roster I did for a prequel idea that I had for Morbius. I know it’s probably gonna get a lot if flack, but don’t go hating on it, please.
So, anyway, my idea pretty much centers around a neo-gothic/horror inspired storyline involving the character of Loxias Crown/Hunger, who in this iteration, is the ancestor of Milo Morbius/Lucien Crown.
[Basically in the mid Gregorian Era of London, in a city full of religious panic, a troubled young girl named Ananym turned to witchcraft and cursed Loxias Crown with vampirism to slay the people of London who she saw fit to die. Soon Loxias was locked away in a silver coffin and buried in the farthest parts of the country.
Centuries later, in the early 1990’s, a woman named Katherine Ainsley-Jones is sent to help clear out the Crown Family estate, along with a local priest named Fr. Andrew Prentiss. Soon, Katherine finds something that leads to the accidental unearthing of Loxias’ coffin. The only problem: he’s not the only monster in this city. Soon Loxias, Katherine, and Fr. Andrew find themselves in a plot to literally stop all hell from breaking loose on earth.]
I know the idea seems kind of crazy, but if you ask me, with the proper execution, (and a R-Rating), this kind of idea could actually be a pretty interesting and mature storyline that could help the Sony Marvel Universe stand out from its MCU counterpart.
IDK, let me know what you guys think. Hope you like it!

---------------
Cold it seemed so infinitely cold. But something was different, there was no dream around her. No castle as she had hoped. Not the flickering candles or Michael at her side. No nightmares overcame her no blood she lost. It just seemed dark at first. What is this symphony?
It was beautiful even when Y/n was only faintly aware of it, it reached her ears. It seemed so lively with a recurring rhythm. A steady heartbeat as if it was playing itself. She wanted to hear it and have it for herself. As if she could not resist the symphony as if she was calling her. As if she was dependent on it. A different dependence than to that of Michael. Michael was her heart they had something completely different. But this symphony just seemed irresistible.
Red. Blood red. As if a fog-like thread was laying itself through their cold darkness. A single small thread of mist so inconspicuous dissolved. She stretched out her hand and the mist wrapped itself around her index finger. She continued to perceive the symphony. It seemed to emanate from the mist. ,, I want to hear more," said a voice, but it was not her own. It sounded too dark, too scratchy, as if this creature had existed for thousands of years. The bloodthirst of a creature.
Did she want more? She strode toward the mist, the wriggling red mass hovering calmly before her. Welcoming it, she stretched out her arms. Drunk on this infinitely beautiful symphony, she embraced the mist. It enveloped her as if it were wrapping a cape of blood around her. But what she knew was beautiful. Beautiful.
She knew she wanted more, she needed more. She needed...blood. All at once she opened her eyes and the blood red pupils saw the night. She felt everything. The light wind that whizzed past her ears. The noise of the city as if she recognized every single car. The symphony no there seemed to be millions of such sounds around her an almost suffocating feeling. She straightened up and became aware of her body again. Pain ran through her mind. I should be dead spoke her own voice as she looked down at herself. The blood on her side was slightly dried and stuck to her as if it didn't want to let go. It is as if the blood had become an involuntary part of her awakening.
Sitting down, she looked around. She was still on the roof of the building. Slowly, yet like a flash, the memories of the past time struck her. She rose her hand went to her head it hurt as if two people were arguing inside her. She herself the rational side not clear coming that she should be dead. The other side this creature this something that brought her this hunger this desire. She wanted to go to Michael and feel the safety but instead the symphony snaked around her.
She jerked her head away, not wanting to go to the symphony. But something was different this creature came out. The darkness, the claws, the desire was irresistible. ,, Give in " she heard and her gaze went to the right where Michael was supposed to be. Suddenly, as if something were passing through her, she flinched. A pain like she had never felt before ran through her body. She cried out but this soon turned into a growl. It wasn't her sound. It was the sound of the beast. The monster. The vampire. The eyes blood red in search of its first victim. The hands made into claws to kill. Slashing their victims to bleed them out. Her sharp teeth to bite her victims and get what she needed. And this almost infinitely overwhelming power.
But the vampire won and so she gave in to the sin of blood thirst. She tore herself away and went with a greedy look to the left away from Michael and away from any help. With each step towards the edge of the roof she felt the power. The wind that once seemed so unruly was nothing but an element. She knew that Michael had tamed it, and one day she would be able to do the same. She looked down at the colorful lights.
The city full of people. Full of symphonies. Full of prey. And then she jumped, her claws driving into the wall of the building, tearing it down with every meter of her slowed fall. But it didn't hurt, she didn't care.
Why should she care, she didn't even care. The stone and the metal that would have torn her human body apart was cut. Her claws penetrated like a knife and cut the hard flesh. When she saw the ground, she let go and jumped off. With a loud thud she landed in the alley. Crack and a small hollow had formed under it. A proof of the new strength, however, only a breath. Her eyes searched the alley, she saw everything clearly as if she had been blind as a human before. She heard the symphony, it was close. As if she could grasp it.
She stepped forward and saw the pulsating blurot in front of her the mist seemed to come from a person in front of her. For her, however, it was prey, not a person, something lowly, her symphony, and she looked at everything. She did not notice her prey. The person stood at the corner and wavered between the light of salvation and the darkness of the alley of death. ,, Take what is yours...take the blood" she heard the vampire's voice or was it not her own at that moment? She jumped forward, but she felt lighter, as if the mist around her was carrying her, giving her strength. A few meters behind her victim she stood. Suddenly she heard something two more symphonies coming towards her. Witnesses and yet nothing but more victims of her blood thirst.
With a swift movement, she grabbed the man by the collar, yanked him into the darkness and hurled him against the wall. A dull crumbling sound was heard and the wall seemed to have been damaged under her force. Quickly emerging from her fog, she pulled him back up by the collar of his shirt. A bottle fell to the floor and rolled towards the light. A bait for the flies. She didn't hear what her victim was saying, but what took her completely was the symphony. That warm pulling symphony inside him. She wanted it she wanted to hear it she wanted to possess it. To assimilate it.
And she did, the sweet pulling symphony flowing through her as she bit down. Her teeth cut through the soft skin of the neck and she feasted on the blood. It seemed as if she had been taste-blinded as a human. There was nothing like the blood. It was intoxicating. She needed and wanted more.
Deeper she bit and more of the intoxicating blood came to her. It was only a few moments later that she let go of her victim. Her claw wrapped around the neck and she took in the two new victims. They were only a few steps away from her. She barely noticed that she was squeezing the neck tighter and tighter before she heard a rattle followed by a crack. Heedlessly she let go of the victim which sank to the ground dead from the broken neck. She licked the blood from her hand before she saw her two new victims. The symphonies sounded and were pulled by the monster into the alley where they faded away.
A bloodbath had been made, the walls engulfed in darkness were covered in blood. It dripped down in a silent pool and collected in a puddle. The bodies of the three victims lay dead and scattered on the floor. In the midst of the chaos, Y/n stood back from the bloodlust and back to his senses. Disturbed and anxious, she looked down at herself. But there was nothing but blood. Her hands were full of sticky, deep red blood, her clothes were soaked and the splashes on her face could have been mistaken for tears. ,, Michael" she said his name, she had to find him.
She knew that he also had this ability, but she? She was a newborn, untrained and inexperienced. Her head went up in search as she heard the sound of many bats. It was highly unlikely to encounter a wild swarm of bats. She knew it must be coming from Michael, but how? She heard the sound clearly, but the echolocation like Michael was not yet possible.
She jumped up and was again overwhelmed by her strength before she was back on the roof. She clearly heard the fluttering and ran and jumped over the roofs. She pulled the black mist behind her. It resembled the dark purple of Michael, but it was black. The darkness that haunted her since her nightmares and yet seemed to be a friend. She stopped on a ledge and looked down. She saw the dark hole due to tree measures but she felt that he was down there.
She looked to her left and could hear the police sirens coming. They had to leave, she knew that a normal life was not possible. She rose and jumped down her smoke disappeared into the darkness with her as if it had never existed. She slowed down on the various steel beams and walls before landing in the underground.
Millions of bats flew around down here and yet they were not here by choice. Her blood red eyes looked forward where she saw her heart in the mass of bats. ,, Michael" she said and slowly approached him. ,, Y/n" He turned to her, incredulous and yet full of sorrow. His face returned to normal and resembled a human face again. They both seemed normal for a brief moment.
,, You...are alive," he stated hesitantly and she saw the white-blue eyes flash for a brief moment. ,, Your heart is beating again," he said and walked towards her. He pulled her into a hug, a hug that was full of love and relief, but also full of worry. ,, Your blood, Michael, when I bit you. You turned me," she confessed, giving him a brief smile. ,, I was afraid I would lose you forever. ,, You didn't, infinity is there for us," she reassured him and put her head lightly in his hand as he touched her cheek. A gasp was heard and she detached herself from him. ,, Is he?" she ventured and Michael just nodded. ,, You don't need to see this," Michael tried to protect her, but she kept walking. The swarm of bats had in the meantime hung on the ceiling and watched the three of them.
Leaning against an old crumbling wall, she saw Milo lying there. The syringe with the antidote lay empty next to it. He was back to normal human form and giving a final death throes. She stood over him and looked down at him coldly. In his eyes was bitterness and something like remorse as far as she could interpret it. ,, My...Blood Queen" he said, the title speaking for itself. ,, No, just your death" was the last thing she said to him before she drove her claw into his chest with a quick movement and squeezed. Death slumped slightly before she removed her bloody hand from his torso. She saw the sadness in Michael's eyes.
But he also knew that Milo had to be killed. They both knew that it was the bitter truth. Because if she had not killed him, he would die slowly and miserably. Even at the end she had done him a favor. She stroked a strand of hair from his face. ,, I'm sorry," she said, but Michael took her hand and kissed it. ,, No, it was necessary, he should have died earlier. He just delayed everything," he confessed and she gave him a timid nod.
,, You have given in to thirst," Michael stated. ,, There were three Michael less than when you woke up," she countered and went back to him. ,, We will manage everything," he assured her and she believed him. Because this time she also believed that everything would be all right. ,, They're coming," she said, knowing that he had heard all the policemen before her.
He made a circular motion with his hand and on his command the bats circled the two of them. ,, I can't fly, Michael," she reminded him. ,, You don't have to, my heart," he said, picking her up. ,, Hold on tight, we'll be out of here soon," she heard him say, which was easily swallowed up by the bats' wings. Then with a jerk he rose and the bats moved with them.
She felt the air, the cold, the quick hearts of her little friends. Before she opened her eyes and saw the city below her. It was suddenly quiet as if only she and Michael existed. Up in the dark night with the moon as the only witness. She could have her love forever as two vampires. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The moon lit up the night as if made for the two creatures. In the night sky, blown by the fast wind, you could see the dark purple that mixed with the black. A beautiful work of art of its own. The mist stopped and the two colors disappeared as they returned to their owners. ,, One more" she said and flew over the city. New York was their common dream and they were the hunters. ,, Do you want to try again?" he asked, none of his gentleness gone.
She nodded, giving him one last look before jumping down. The wind around her was a tame element, nothing more. She felt the cold wind glide through her fingers. She closed her eyes and paused. Slowly the black mist gathered around her.
It took over the wind and her fall slowed. Suddenly she opened her eyes before she felt a hard kick in her stomach and only seconds later the wall of a building in her back. Slightly dazed, she held onto the wall before jumping back up the rest of the way. A sound like a shoot and a whirring was clearly heard and from whom they both knew exactly. ,, Get out of my city!" she heard the man's threatening voice. ,, I'm tired of you monsters," he added bitterly before Spider-Man jumped onto the roof of the building.
It did not take long after the events of Michael and her New York's spider became aware of them. But he had changed. He was no longer the friendly one as then. He was once a hero, not since the death of a civilization, and they assumed that the civilization was his friend. He was full of hate and anger.
He had become more brutal. ,, You know how this will end, Peter," she replied, her sharp teeth clearly visible in the moonlight. Peter Parker is Spider-Man, a fact that the two of them found out only thanks to their abilities. ,, With you bloodsuckers dead, it's enough that you leave a trail of corpses behind you," he said, his hands clenching into fists. Before he raised his arm and fired his net at her.
He was too slow, but she had underestimated his fighting spirit. She dodged his punch only barely and fled with a leap into the air. ,, Get away from her!" she heard Michael shout before the purple smoke appeared and tore Spider-Man away from her. The two crashed to the ground and fought on the roof. She was about to support Michael when she heard a distant bang.
Her blood red eyes went skyward. A crack she thought and looked closer. But she was right, the sky seemed to tear open and suddenly she felt herself being pulled closer. She jumped to a ledge and dug her claws into the stone, because by now Michael and Peter had also noticed. ,, What is this?" she heard Peter murmur, but her gaze was on Michael, who was also stuck in the stone and had a worried look directed at her.
She was about to assure him that she would be fine when something invisible pulled at her. ,, What the- " she muttered and looked behind her but there was nothing but the crack. ,, Michael" she called and stretched out her hand to him. He immediately let go and was about to jump towards her when he was suddenly pulled out of his fog and hard to the ground.
Peter had caught him in the leg with the net and prevented him from getting to her. It was getting harder and harder to hold on and she could hardly fly. But what she felt again for a long time was. Fear. The fear of being separated from Michael again. She saw Michael looking at her, he had the same fear of being separated from his heart again. But the stone broke and she flew straight towards the crack.
Desperately she tried to fly, but this only stopped the process a little. ,, Michael!" she called his name and desperately reached out a hand for him. She saw him kick Peter away and fly towards her, but he wouldn't make it. Especially not when Spider-Man threw himself at the vampire, knocking him to the ground. Their love seemed cursed. She saw the pain flashing in Michael's eyes as if he blamed himself again.
But that was the last thing she saw before everything around her was bathed in bright orange purple light. Slowly she regained consciousness and picked herself up from the floor. Confused, she looked around and realized with shock that this was not New York. At least not the New York she knew. It was the sun shining above her, not the moon. ,, Michael!" she called out to her friend, but he didn't seem to hear her. A noise came to her ears like a violent honking and screaming. An accident or an attack or something else. Hoping to find Michael there, she disappeared into the black mist in the new unknown New York.

There is no path. Beyond the scope of light, beyond the reach of dark...
Tumblr media
In 1910 stock broker William Porter built the colossal granite mansion “Foxcroft” on the top of Fox Hill, selected for the commanding views it afforded. In 1911, while traveling back to New York after a weekend at Foxcroft, Porter was killed in an automobile accident. He was survived by his wife Ruth Halliwell Porter, who was returning from a European vacation aboard the Lusitania at the time of the crash.
In 1913, Ruth married Warren Van Slyke and renamed their part-time retreat the Van Slyke Castle. When Warren died in 1925, Ruth moved to the castle permanently and remained there until her death in 1940. On March 1, 1949, the Castle was purchased by Celeste and Robin MacFadden, who subsequently sold to Suzanne S. Christie on July 2, 1951. Between 1951 and 1962, Suzanne S. Christie was to become Suzanne S. O’Sullivan then Suzanne Noyes Brussel. As strange as it may seem, Suzanne (who was the sole owner) abandoned the mansion between husbands, and left it to the mercy of the elements. In 1959, the magnificent structure was reduced to ruins in a fire of undetermined origin.
On August 18, 1978, Suzanne Brussel sold the ruins to Bruce Ademski of the Ademski and Van Saun Home Improvement Company. Ademski then subdivided the 15.9 acre parcel into three 5 acre lots. On February 22, 1980 the State of New Jersey filed a “Declaration of Taking;” which informed Ademski that his lots would soon be seized by the NJDEP at a non-negotiable price. Shortly after the receipt of this document, Ademski’s lots became part of Ramapo Mountain State Forest.
In the early part of the 20th century, Clifford MacEvoy purchased about 2600-acres of what would become Ramapo Mountain State Forest. In 1976 the area became state lands using Green Acres and federal funds. The majority of Park acreage was conveyed by the trustee of the Clifford MacEvoy estate to the State of New Jersey to be included as part of the existing Ramapo State Forest.

September 11, 2023 - Scottish Crossbill (Loxia scotica) These finches are found in the pine forests of northern Scotland. They mainly eat seeds from the Scots pine, using their distinctive bills to pry them out of the cones, and also feed on other tree seeds, blossoms, buds, and shoots, along with some invertebrates. Breeding from January to June, females build large, bulky cup-shaped nests from twigs, heather, grass, plant fibers, moss, animal hair, and feathers in the upper levels of pine trees, sometimes with assistance from males. They incubate the eggs alone, but both parents care for the chicks.

BOTD: Red Crossbill
Tumblr media
Photo: Tom Murray
"These stubby little nomads are often first detected by their hard kip-kip callnotes as they fly overhead in evergreen woods. Red Crossbills in North America are quite variable, from small-billed birds that feed on spruce cones to large-billed ones that specialize on pines. Scientists have long puzzled over how to classify these different forms. New research suggests that there may be as many as eight different full species of Red Crossbills on this continent. Slight differences in callnotes are apparently enough to keep them from mixing, and several kinds may occur in the same area without interbreeding."

Hi hello fellow Dalinar enthusiast here, I need you to know that your post about Dalinar eating pork has embedded itself in my bloodstream and I just made the best pork chops I've ever made for dinner, and ate it via stabbing with a knife and repeatedly saying "good pork." Enough so that my partner (who has only read through WoR and doesn't like the series) got suspicious and said "who the fuck in the cosmere eats pork like that" so I played him the audiobook clip from OB ch. 19, and he got so exasperated he had to go sit on the balcony and smoke a Small Bowl Of Weed. I hope you're having a divine evening king. Winds bless u.
Glad it’s not just me haunted by the specter of Dalinar going “good pork” every time I eat good pork
