HOLY CRAP YALL WHAT AN EPISODE!  SO GOOD ON ALL FRONTS NO NOTES ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL thanks to @chaotictarlos again for screaming crying and throwing up with me. I have a super early call time and three flights tomorrow so my thoughts are going to be kinda brief but holy shit. -Already 5 minutes in and i was getting high heart rate notifications from my Apple Watch -APD comes off so fucking useless in this episode like did they do ANY investigating at all?  Seriously its ridiculous.  They missed the false wall, they missed the ash in the fireplace?  Like who is this detective and where is Detective Washington?  But you know who was one of the best detectives?  FUCKIN’ TK STRAND!!!!!!!  HE’s come a long way from misidentifying statues as people!  NO ONE is gonna stop him from finding his man. -Carlos you smart SOB, making that connection with Trudy.  Also him talking about Gwyn and her love for TK being flowed through him...fucking wrecked me.  I miss my mom and I hope I find someone like that.  Carlos balancing his need to scream for TK standing right there but also trying to protect him from the crazy lady with a knife, can you imagine. -Ugh both Ronen and Rafael were SO GOOD in this episode.  Probably the most intense we’ve seen from either of them, especially with Detective!TK.  Sidenote, Ronen’s instagram stories were so funny.

-Okay also, some of these one liners were so good.  Even if they were in stressful situations.  The serial killer adjacent old lady being more of a LGBT ally than my own father lol: “I love the gays!”  Also new favorite Owen line: “I’m a fireman.  Our codes are like: Fire!” -I swear to god the last five minutes of this episode aged me like 20 years.  SHE WAS SO CLOSE TO HELPING CARLOS!  THEN TK AND GABRIEL WERE SO CLOSE TO HIM!  UGH!!!  Who else had TK having to do CPR on Carlos.  I can’t wait for the residual trauma for the two of them!  I know there’s limited time for that but that’s why we have fic writers. -ALSO, the B plot was crazy: I’m getting real pissed off with the FBI.  They clearly have no idea how to run this investigation, they are treating their asset (Owen) with more contempt than the people they are trying to catch.  Clearly Owen is scared/uncomfortable with their plan and they are doing nothing to assuage that.  Like my god. -I also can see how they are going to set up an inevitable conflict between TK and Owen which I know Ronen has teased in previous interviews, why the two of them have kind of drifted a bit.  I’m excited for that conversation to come, I can’t imagine how TK is feeling at this moment.

ALSO: “Are you kidding, you died!”, “Yeah, look who’s talking” I MEAN,  exCUSE ME.....Fiancés that have-their-heart-stop-and-literally-die together, stay together. AND REMEMBER: ALL ROADS LEAD TO THE WEDDING All in all, an absolutely fantastic episode.  I can’t wait to read some fics about it.  I have a really early call time tomorrow (0500) and three flights (Orlando-Houston-Chicago-DC) so idk how available I’ll be, but I’d love to talk more about it with yall!

TK needs to call 911. Because he's pretty sure he just got run over by a bus. At least, that's what it feels like in his chest. He's frozen in place for a long moment, something fractured to the core and he can't move because that'll risk a spinal injury and there's already critical damage to his heart and lungs.*

Season 1 of the Owl House is important, not just from a world-building and character standpoint but also as a way to show the throughly different perspectives of Luz and Belos. I think Belos only works so well as a villain because he’s so much like Luz, and while they had different intentions neither of them had interest in the world around them and rather their idea of that world. Both of them wanted to be a hero. However, in season 1, Luz breaks down her perception of what it means to be a hero and develops bonds with the people of the Isles and the world around her. She starts out as somebody who wants to fight but has no idea what she’s fighting for, she thinks she can live out a fantasy but she realizes that she cares about the people around her, that her actions have consequences. 

The season ends with Luz taking a stand and fighting for her family- her focus is no longer being a hero and the ideal that goes with it but rather protecting the people she loves, and Belos recognizes himself in her which is why he says “go, be a hero,” which hits pretty hard because Luz realizes that “being a hero” means that she has to be pretty ruthless and make sacrifices that cause her harm, which is a lesson Belos also learned but his sacrifices are entirely selfish and Luz’s were to protect her family.

Carlos sighs as he finally gets his turn at the bar. He orders a couple of drinks for himself and Paul and a mocktail he hopes TK will like. 

He turns, leaning an elbow on the bar, and searches the crowd for TK. He’s easy to spot; there’s something about him that draws Carlos’ eye- even in the crowded club.

He’s making his way through the crowded room, trying to find somewhere with enough room for them to rest without having to sit on top of each other. Not that Carlos would mind, but he’s sure Paul wouldn’t want the show. 

TK is seated for no longer than ten seconds when he’s approached by two men, and jealousy burns in Carlos’s chest- even though TK isn’t technically his to stake a claim to. 

He watches the interaction, finding himself relieved as TK declines the invitation, and he wonders how and when he became so fond of the firefighter. When he’s with TK, everything just feels so right, and he aches for the day when he can feel like that all the time.

“Your boyfriend is popular tonight,” the bartender says as he takes Carlos’ card. 

“Oh, he’s not my boyfriend.”

“He friend-zoned someone who looks like you? He must be crazy.”

“I just don’t want to push, is all,” Carlos says, taking his card back and tucking it in his wallet. 

“Well, if you don’t snatch him up, someone else will,” he says, pointing.

Carlos whips around but relaxes when he realizes it’s just Paul.  “Thanks.” Carlos gathers his drinks and makes his way back to the table. 

Carlos hands them their drinks and sits next to TK, casually putting his hand on TK’s knee. 

“Stay over tonight? I don’t have a shift tomorrow. I can make us breakfast,” Carlos says, hoping the food will entice him. It’s the first time he’s explicitly invited TK to stay the night, and he’s not sure how he’ll respond. 

“Yeah, okay,” TK agrees. “Hey, you want to step outside for a second? I could use some…fresh air.”

Carlos nods even though he knows fresh air is a code for something that could probably get him charged with indecent exposure if they get caught. “Let’s go.” 

TK grabs his hand and stands, and Carlos lets himself be led out of the club.

will you still be writing tarlos after last night?

Y'all need to stop drawing me back here but I really wanted to answer this.

A showrunner once killed my favourite character on a show I loved for more than 15 years. If I can get over that, I can get over this.

That being said, I looked at all my WIPs last night - put them to the side, opened a new doc and wrote 2.5k of a new AU. I've still not really processed how I feel about everything yet, but this sure as hell is going to be my therapy.

Oh, and I made a new Spotify playlist with a title spiting Tim Minear. Lazy writing is not it for me.

Season 3

I'll be missing you || It’s been months since they’ve seen each other but the holidays have TK feeling lonely and needing Carlos. Even as he tries not to, he craves his touch and company.

back to you || 107 days since he had felt Carlos’s arms wrapped around him and it killed him every day he went without it. He missed the smell of Carlos’ cologne and how it always lingered after they hugged. He missed the feeling of Carlos kissing him awake, the way “good morning” always sounded extra special when it was coming from a sleep Carlos. He missed the way Carlos would make him feel safe and secure after a bad call. The way Carlos would look at him, soft eyes seeing right through him. But most of all he missed how he felt when he was with Carlos and how the world was made of colors again. Because without Carlos everything was gray and TK was just barely hanging on.

All Night Long || TK has some feelings about seeing Carlos in plaid.

Waiting up for you || After the 126 gang goes home, TK waits up for Carlos who never comes home.

do you still want me like i want you? || TK can't get Carlos words out of his head. He can't help but feel maybe this is all a mistake and that Carlos is regretting saying yes to him.

"It's yours" || “TK,” he says softly. The two syllables of his name falling from Carlos’ lips is enough to get TK to move his feet and push into the room. Carlos reaches out and TK immediately grabs onto his hand, clinging to it desperately. When he feels Carlos’ warm skin under his, he lets out a sigh, his body relaxing.

Let me be your shoulder || Carlos struggles to let TK help.

beneath your hands, i come apart || TK gets his dessert and shows Carlos how much he loves him.

in the quiet with you || “We had the craziest call tonight,” TK says as he sets the table for dinner, freshly clean from his shower. “What was it about?” Carlos asks where he’s finishing up at the stove, dinner almost ready. “This man came in with his wife on a refrigerator dolly, hanging upside down, claiming that if she’s not upside down then she dies.” TK chuckles slightly, still amazed at the memory, setting out the various sauces and toppings for the tacos that Carlos has made.

Not unhappy about the idea of Iris returning, as it always felt like she had a lot of potential, especially for Carlos. Since we now know that 1x05 had a scene where Carlos talks about Iris, I think they originally wanted him to be a larger part of her story, and for her to have more impact outside of Michelle. They clearly shifted away from that idea as they wrote the end of the first season and kept her isolated for some reason. (It’s why that plot absolutely never worked.) My guess is that season 2 would’ve maybe opened that plot up if Liv hadn’t left, as she would’ve remained a focal point. All of this to say, I don’t know if she’s coming back for flashbacks or present-day material, I don’t know if she’ll actually have anything to do with Carlos or if it’ll be something completely different. Literally have no idea, and I’m unwilling to get my hopes up about it until we get more information.  However, I am very much hoping that we don’t see even a glimpse of Michelle Blake. Not a single emotionless, husky peep from her. No thank you.
