Audrey stood shocked and still on the edge of what used to be Mushnick’s Florist. She was covered in dust, what looked like green grass stains, various cuts and bruises–including one jagged cut of significant size that was still bleeding–and her wedding dress was torn to shreds.  She wondered how much blood she had actually lost because she was feeling a bit woozy and wasn’t sure her thoughts were all straight…a talking plant? a talking, man-eating plant?!  Was she sure she was remembering that right? Was that what Seymour had been trying to tell–Seymour! He’d been inside the shop when it had collapsed!  Her fuzzy thoughts cleared and she anxiously called into the night, desperate to hear his voice answering her, “Seymour! Seymour, where are you?” She stumbled over the bricks towards the epicenter of the destruction, clawing at the fallen stone. “Seymour? Seymour!” Every moment that he didn’t answer her she grew more and more hysterical.  “Seymour!” She cried, and then winced, clutching a hand to her side.  “...Seymour?” She said, quieter this time as tears streamed down her face.  He was gone.  She had lost him. She began to sink to knees in despair.

Which of your fics would you keep the basic plot of but rewrite completely?

i really don't tend to look back like that, honestly! what's done is done and i've learned from it and moved on. I do have like 3 chapters of a wip from 2020 im thinking about overhauling but a lot of it is good tbh so im not about to gut the thing, maybe just reupholster

15. What's your favourite plotless fic you have written?

i mean this with so much affection, LSOH... it was an rp with big ambitions so it didn't have a full traditional "plot" i guess you could say... it was all just playing with my friend whom i adore

Write for you and maybe two to four of your similarly insane friends. and then reread what you wrote and roll around in it, cause it was written with exactly your tastes in mind. it's all about having fun here

I had another rp that was FINISHED and SO GOOD but my rp partner never responded the several times I asked to publish it :( krav was an android and taako was a fucking sweet alien and they had the Most Romance

21. Would you ever collaborate with another writer for a story?

well. (looks at lsoh.) yes! i’ve done a lot of rp in my time and i really enjoy collaborative storytelling, and i think it would be super fun to make a more formalized collaborative narrative—i don’t know if i’d do a short-answer-rp-turned-fic again, since those can get choppy, but if i ever drag my head above water on all my other ideas? man. with another writer i trust and work well with i’d LOVE to give it a shot, i say, blinking slowly and meaningfully at the person who sent me this ask,

22.Are there certain types of writing you won’t do? (style, pov, genre, tropes, etc)

I mean, yeah, probably! I can’t name them off the top of my head because there’s exceptions to every rule, but I have comfort zones and I have things I’m just not that into— but generally speaking I write the way whatever story i’ve been possessed by most recently feels best, you know? which means that i’ll do just about any POV and a LOT of genres and tropes. I guess I’d say I’m uncomfortable writing things that feel like I’m making Gender Roles Again, But This Time We Like Them— that’s a pretty broad statement but it has a bunch of different applications, whoops.

I also don’t like to take characters that are source-material equals and make them ontologically, fundamentally, irrecoverably unbalanced to a point where there is simply no hope of gaining that equality— I was thinking about this the other day, actually. Like, it’s a little weird coming from Godfucker McEldritchguy, but I think. hmm how do I describe this. a) i love to make a story where gods get dragged down to a human level, b)in ones where they don’t, they tend to have been Designed to be gods, not designed to be an equal, and i can have a character be their most specialest little bug in a jar, and c) god i am so obsessed with guys that are mutually obsessed with each other. i am so weird about it. and it’s challenging for me to write something lacking that mutualism, although i can write it in a way where it’s antagonistic instead of positive or whatever. does that make sense? i don’t know.

anyway, at the end of the day I’d say my limits depend on the characters I’m working with; there’s things I’d do with some of my OCs that I’d rather die than touch akeshuake with, and things I do with them that I would never in a thousand years hand to karkat homestuck, And So On. dunno!

god, I wish I could, but my brain simply would not allow it. I do not determine the subject matter or length of what I write, I set out the ouija board of concepts and lay my hands on my ADHD planchette and hope to hell that what comes out isn’t more absolutely balls to the wall insane nigh-unreadable clown nonsense

75. What scene in [Winner Take All]took the longest to write? What was difficult about it? 

oh boy okay uh. WTA was written in a feverish haze over the course of like two weeks, so it’s hard to remember, really, but I remember driving myself INSANE with the opener of chapter 2; I kept sending messages to the group chat like “i’m 5k in and they Still Haven’t Fucked, help, this chapter wasn’t even supposed to exist”

Audrey stirred as morning light began to filter through the cotton curtains that hung in the bedroom window of the little green house on a little green street in a little green town. Her eyes fluttered open and she smiled as her gaze landed on a red cardinal perched on the window box, singing in welcome to the morning sun. She watched the bird for a while, her head resting on Seymour’s chest, his arm still around her. In typical Audrey fashion, she had completely forgotten what today was: the 14th of February. Of course, she’d gotten Seymour a little something sweet earlier that week and then tucked it into a hiding spot in the closet, she just had forgotten that today was the day. Equally, she had learned not to expect anything from Valentine’s Day, and didn’t want to get her hopes up and then be disappointed – despite the endless love Seymour had showered her with thus far. In the meantime, she let her mind wander as she waited for Seymour to also wake up. She didn’t want to get up just yet, both because she didn’t want to disturb him and because she was enjoying the quiet morning. Waking up next to Seymour and snuggling up until they grew hungry for breakfast was her favorite part of the day. It seemed the epitome of the simple life she had imagined: they didn’t have anything to fret about and could easily hide away under the covers from the lingering worries of their past.

Who would be okay with roleplaying some lsoh? I've never roleplayed any of the characters before, but I'd love to get some practice with em.

Ocs are a maybe. I don't typically go for them when I'm first roleplaying a fandom. I may have one or two oce I can play, but I'm very picky about other people's ocs.

I'd prefer something with Audrey ll, Orin or Seymour. I'm okay with dark themes, gore, whatever.

I'm a literate to advanced literate roleplayer so I'd recommend that you be able to at least write two paragraphs per response so I can have something to work with.

I'm okay with romance, platonic, ect.

Hi! I'm 28F (she/her), and I'm looking for anyone who is 18+ and would like to RP the following Fandoms:

1. Transformers

2. Doctor Who

Here is what you need to know (in no particular order):

1. Transformers Universes: Animated and Bayverse only.

2. For TFA, I know most of the main characters but not the whole storyline of the series, the episodes I have seen are 'A Bridge Too Close', 'Transwarped', 'Human Error' and 'Endgame'. But like I said I'm familiar enough with the main characters to do a decent RP.

3. For Bayverse I know all the films, but I'm not as familiar with the Bumblebee film.

4. Doctor Who Era: NewWho only.

5. For Little Shop Of Horrors, I've seen the theatrical ending and the original ending.

6. I prefer to wing it as long as we have an idea for a starter, but I can do plots as well as long as they're talked about prior to the RP, this applies to a Transformers, Doctor Who or LSOH RP

7. I can do OCXCanon, OCXOC, MXM, FXM and FXF.

8. When it comes to smut, I will only go as far as the characters kissing, cuddling and caressing, then I will do a skip to the aftermath.

9. I don't really do NSFW or darker themes.

10. No killing off my OC(s), I don't mind having your character injure them, but not kill.

11. Genres: Family (especially family fluff), Friendship, Hurt/Comfort, Action, Adventure, Drama, Angst and Romance.

12. I will RP as your OC's crush, or if a canon character is a family member to your OC, all I ask is that you do the same for me in return.

13. You need to be able to double up (RP OC and Canon Characters), this is so I'm not doing all the work.

14. If you don't have an OC, that's ok, you can RP as Canon Characters (and I will too of course). All I ask is that if I include an OC that you RP as the Canon Character that is either their crush or family member.

15. Please no one-lined replies, I'm semi-literate/literate, I don't expect you to match my reply length exactly, as long as the replies aren't one-lined then I don't mind.

shocking no one my first answer is sticker stars cause it is the longest thing i wrote by myself followed by LSOH and Paper Crowns, which were rps with friends and also so fun to return to especially since LSOH was my chance to write with my WRITING CRUSH my BELOVED my ADORED author of the incredible Honey Sweet which i am ALSO emotionally attached to, but it isn't mine

4 (what fic of your own do you read for comfort?)

depends on the mood but definitely those three again and then like, one that were fun and silly and Tender. like jingle all the way and angus mcdonald and the arcade enigma and play with me and rub this on your body.

12 (What’s your perfect environment to create/write?)

fucking absolute silence, unfortchy. cannot have any distractions i will fully lose myself in them. no tv no music not even rain sounds unless they are very quiet and even then that is a stretch. lately i also go to my room with my laptop and get in bed all cozy cause being cold puts me in such a Mood i cannot think. sometimes i also write on my phone (in a ziplock bag) in the bathtub. what's the word for doing something out of spite except instead of spite it is because it's so fucking funny

13 (Do you take pride in your writing, or does it embarrass you? Why?)

here's the thing i am very proud of my writing and i know im good. i know my mechanics are good, my structure is good, my characterization is good, my figurative language, emotions, prose, rhythm, it's great. obviously there are places i can improve and things that would benefit from more editing, but i have a lot of writing experience and i know i can use it to build a sound structure. here's the thing tho. just because i am not embarrassed of it does not mean i want it to escape containment and context. my mom does not need to read Little Shop of Horny for MULTIPLE reasons. my coworkers do not need to know I write fanfiction. if i were writing in a professional writing capacity i would even then be subtle about my (2022-2013=.................................9?) years of fandom writing experience, or the 61 fics on my AO3. it's not embarrassing, it just isn't public info.

if someone is embarrassed of their work it's time to unclench and dive in to what you love about it. you gotta roll around in the mud and have fun and find joy in it. listen. listen. i have DRAMATICALLY less experience with art (1.5ish yrs) than with writing (literally since i was six, so uh 21 years, killing it on the math today folks).

that means that sometimes art is really fucking hard and demoralizing, and internal comparisons to my other skills make me miserable. but that means it is time to put it away, take a breath, eat some chocolate strawberries, and review my intentions for the craft. am i doing this for attention, or because i want to see the ocs in my head on the screen? am i doing this to Win and Be the Best or because i want to be able to render a beautiful frog cake or ghost wearing fishnets and heels, just because i can? like what is the point??

translated back to writing, yeah, if you lack experience, flaws may be visible and comparisons with experts may suck whole uncut ass. but like what is the point tho? we're not out here to win. we're out here to play. if this isn't the way that feels good to play, there are so many other crafts to pick up. but if it is the way that suits you, then take your time and enjoy the ride, and share it with people you trust. and if you want it to be better and look better and do better numbers....

first of all, numbers isn't everything, numbers are of the devil and suck joy like marrow from your bones. second of all, a lot of things influence numbers that you cannot in fact control, such as who follows you, when they see a given post, what mood they are in when they see it, and so on. C, if you actually want to IMPROVE YOUR CRAFT, then fuckin' improve your craft. if you want to be more famous, chill the fuck out.

if you want to write better, have someone beta. do studies. character studies, emotional studies, ficlets to help you tighten up your prose and timing. i used to be awful about writing under a certain word limit, but ive done a billion of those suckers and i feel ive really improved on my succinctness and overall cohesion. you also gotta remember that everybody is always growing all of the time. there's still shit i'm learning and there's still shit the art geniuses are learning and there's still so much out there for you to learn too.

and listen, i know it's hard to not get a lot of comments, or tags, or reblogs, or, or, or (that's my seal impression). it does. it does explicitly suck. but you gotta unhook your writing boat from the dock of internet points or your heart is gonna hurt and you're never gonna sail anywhere, man. (that's my pascal the otter from animal crossing impression).

qed make stuff and dont be embarrassed of it. do it for joy and do it for you and come back to it and roll in it as much as you want. if your friends can be nice, they're invited to roll in it too.
