So in 2017, when he was first working on what I'm assuming is the lost LT1 album he talked about how songwriters that would have loved to have worked with One Direction (which includes working with Louis because he was the main songwriter) weren't willing to work with him as a solo artist.
But this was the summer of 2017... before Back To You had come out. Well before all the blacklisting would have been clear and his "lack of commercial appeal" was apparent. So what was it that stopped the songwriters and producers from working with Louis? Did he really have a bad reputation within these circles? Or were there incentives to not work with him?
(That same quote included how it wouldn't have been the same for Harry. Which also ties into what he said recently about how Harry's solo success bothered him at first. It's normal to wonder why it's easier for your peers than it is for you especially since Louis was the actual driving force behind what made One Direction as successful as it was. Also hilarious to think about when we have the story of how Harry played Jeff Bhasker The White Stripes instead of his own demos, but I digress.)
And with that in mind, what he's been saying about Walls being more challenging to make than FITF makes sense. Not only did he have to figure out what kind of solo music he could and wanted to make (without alienating the fans) but he also had to deal with people not wanting to work with him and he understood that. Which says a lot about his confidence at the time.
Fast forward to writing FITF and it's clear something changed. One could be that he wasn't really trying to reach out to big pop songwriters/producers... but instead more rock/indie artists/producers. But how did he get his foot in the door? Because at the time he had really only released a mostly pop album and hadn't toured yet either. And it's not like he had great commercial success or a good critical reception. Did someone vouch for him? Was it the Noel Gallagher writing credit on Walls? Was it a link through Charlie Lightening and Liam Gallagher (whom Louis wouldn't have met at the time - they apparently met for the first time in July in Australia...). Paul Arthurs (also of Oasis) seemed to take a liking to Louis during lockdown, as did Tim Burgess. Rob Harvey reached out to Louis through Charlie (not confirmed - but in the track by track Louis said it was cool when Rob Harvey wanted to write with him). It's possible some of the connections were through BMG (Nicholas Reschber was through Felix Howard) and Matt Vines (Theo Hutchraft I'm assuming was through Matt). Could it all have been (kill me for even suggesting this) through BMG? But the rest? How did he connect to the people who make him feel like he's finally found his place in music?
Which then also makes a bit more sense with his repeated insistence that he wasn't making music for its potential commercial success - but just because he wanted to make music he really loved. The people now willing to work with him all also seem to just love making music (his story of going to the pub and just talking about music with the same passion he'd talk to his friends to about football and all of their posts when the album came out/he got the #1 album). So him repeating that constantly could have been part resignation because his team sucks ass and don't dare aim for better, and part actually just wanting to make good music with people who also understood his vision.

What do you mean they were supposed to end it in 2020?he was supposed to be in tour until november 2020 so I am not sure that would have been possible and used for LT2 because he hadn’t started working on it back then
All the signs that we’re seeing now were there from June 2019 as well, one of the reasons why the most die hard buzzing larries gave up talking about bbg after it didn’t end with all the build up in 2019 (Scammer!Briana was highly publicised, loads of Freddie mentions by Louis again, and he did so much signalling then as well), but it didn’t happen bc covid made tour not happen and therefore the entire timeline was pushed back.
Also you can’t tell me he hadn’t kept writing? He’s had so much material for LT1 already. I’m sure he scrapped most of it again and wrote/produced newer stuff now, but I’m pretty sure that everything that’s happening now was supposed to happen in 2020, maybe a bit more relaxed and lengthier than what we see now, with LT2 originally planned for late 2021 or so, but yeah… that’s my opinion from what I’ve seen and analysed from his signalling and media publishing re: Freddie and Briana during that time.

Very happy for fandom’s gradual acknowledgement that:
1. Louis enjoys and loves having a solo career, wants to play big shows, wants to be a big international artist. This is now abundantly clear, despite a large part of the fandom deliberately misinterpreting his statement in 2019.
2. Louis had no major label support when he needed it most, no radio play, minimal playlisting. Simply a fact Louis himself tweeted.
3. Louis’ social media numbers were decimated with deliberate inactivity and character assassination from his own label— nominally Syco, but financially controlled by and staffed by Sony Music. (I’m also happy to see that fans have finally let the “Simon Cowell is the main villain” narrative die, if only by default because it’s hard to blame a defunct company.)
4. Still, Louis’ follower counts increased from 2020-2022 on the basis of his music and personality, on his livestreams and a self-curated but unpromoted festival. These facts make his world record actually meaningful.
5. In contrast to other ex-1D artists on Sony’s labels, Louis was kept out of live performances and festivals even when the festivals requested him.
6. New OT5 fans and Larries must understand Louis’ history with Sony Music, and recognize their tone-deaf nostalgia for a repeat of this scenario. Sony et al. deliberately put a chokehold on Louis’ solo career because they wanted to create their “natural-frontman-breakout-star-rock-legend” from 1D, and Louis got in the way (for multiple reasons).
7. Louis is rightly proud of his work with 1D, of the songs he wrote for 1D and the good memories, including his friendships. However, fans who value the 1D experience above Louis’ solo achievements are throwing Louis’ very real career challenges for the last six years in his face. Six years is longer than the entirety of 1D.
8. This is especially egregious when fans continue to conflate Louis’ achievements with the artist Sony anointed. They are very different artists, with different genres, a history of opposite industry support, vastly different life philosophies. You can like the work of both artists while recognizing the facts about their careers. They are not the same, they will never be remotely the same kind of person, no matter how much fans want to link them by the color of lights at the venues (?!) or other improbable connections.
9. And finally, as nice as it is to have some vindication of Louies’ convictions, it is bittersweet as well. Where was the fandom indignation in 2017 when Miss You and the LT1 that was “85% done” vanished into thin air? 2018, when some Larries believed “X Factor was strategic for Louis, part of his masterplan” and had actually “lied” about having an album at all? 2019, when Larries said he didn’t want radio play, and playing free holiday gigs was normal? 2020, when LT tour was postponed yet again? As recently as 2021, when the Big Theory was that Louis was “staying home to take care of business while Harry goes off to be an MCU cinema god?” Multiple big Larries supported this post. I assure you that these Larries are still in the fandom, but their abusive tactics have driven a lot of Louie’s’ solo fans out.
10. Despite winning the numbers massively, Harry Styles can’t stop himself from acting with spite. Fuck Columbia, Sony, and Rob Stringer. (x). Fuck you for chasing numbers.
11. Meanwhile, Larries continue to act out their immaturity and selfishness. They might consider giving real kindness a chance, and support Louis’ solo career. If he is as good and kind as you believe, then allow him to breathe. Let him live. Let his solo career blossom as it was meant to, five years ago.

I know I'm getting ahead of myself since tour time is so far away, but do you think he'll take otb out of the setlist? I saw him reply that he'll probably keep Walls and kmm on the setlist, which makes sense, but if these are the only lt1 songs that stay, I really hope there will be another gay anthem on lt2. It would be a shame to miss that feeling of that solidarity and everyone coming together and having their safe special space during otb
Ah I know! I totally understand the feeling, I was devasted when Harry killed LU! lol But I'm sure we will have other meaningful songs on the new album, so I'm not particularly worried. Plus, from what we have heard from the album so far... I mean, it feels so superior and Louis seems to feel so good about it, so I'd hate to get stuck in old moments and with that prevent new amazing things to happen as well.
I love OTB and I love that moment of the show, and I really want him to keep the song. But I think it's all up to him and what kind of vibes he's looking for. I think he's going to keep very few songs from Walls on the setlist, he seemed very excited about the fact FITF was created thinking about the live shows, so he will probably want to experience this at its full. But I'm sure he will also test the waters a little bit and play around on the setlist... so who knows! There's still hope!🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈

I honestly don’t expect an album anytime soon, I just can’t bring myself to be optimistic with how long we waited for LT1.. but I’m curious do you think he’d go on tour again next year if he released the album this year?
you can’t compare the circumstances of album one and two. the main reason LT1 wasn’t released sooner was because louis’ focus was on his family in the aftermath of 2016. his priorities in 2018 was not himself and his career. and when he then found time and energy to focus on his own goals and released the first single his sister passed away and all plans for an album release were of course halted. I honestly don’t think it’s fair to use "how long we waited for LT1" when we know exactly why we waited.
thankfully louis now is in a completely different place in both his personal and professional life and I have faith he’s taking the time he needs to perfect his 2nd album. and even without the disruptions of a global pandemic 2.5 years is not an unusually long time between albums. and it’ll be worth the wait, I know it will. and yeah I think he’ll tour again as soon as he can it’s clearly his favourite thing to do.

Your Guide to the 2024 Chevy Camaro
If you’re looking for a muscle car that delivers great thrills on and off the track, then you should head to your Chevy dealer and check out the 2024 Chevy Camaro. You can get this rear-wheel drive sports car as a convertible soft top or a coupe, and it has plenty of powertrain options that’ll make your heart start pounding in anticipation of the exhilarating ride.
Your Guide to the 2024 Chevy Camaro At Your Chevy Dealer
Exhilarating Powertrain Options
You have a choice of three powertrains with the Camaro. The standard engine is a 3.6-liter V6 that can get you to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds. It has a power output of 335 hp and 284 lb-ft of torque, so that’s sure to get your heart racing. If you’d like to take things a step further, then one of the V8 engines might be more your style. The 6.2-liter LT1 is nice and zippy and can get you to 60 mph in as little as 4 seconds, and the V8 LT4 engine is a real show-stopper.
The LT4 Supercharged V8 engine can get you from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds at its best. It produces a huge 650 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque, so you really won’t know what hit you when you get behind the wheel of this lightning-fast car.
Tons of Available Tech
There’s a whole lot of performance technology available in this year’s Camaro to help you stay informed and in control. An available head-up display lets you view your speed, fuel level, rpm, and other important stats on the windshield. Launch control lets you adjust your wheel slippage and rpm to optimize your performance on the track.
A performance data recorder is available to provide real-time performance data as you drive, and it’ll capture a video of your ride. Finally, the drive mode selector will be useful for you on and off the track. Selecting the drive mode lets your car optimize its performance for different situations. The settings are Tour, Snow/Ice, and Sport.
Plenty of Connectivity
The technology in the Camaro isn’t just performance-based. There’s also a lot of connectivity tech that’ll serve you well during long trips. There’s an available Wi-Fi hotspot, available wireless charging pad on select models, and available built-in Alexa. And of course, the infotainment system can wirelessly connect to Apple and Android smartphones alike.
A Design You Can’t Beat
Both the convertible and coupe versions of this car have a bold grille, sleekly contoured body, and flashy wheels that’ll get you all the right kinds of attention. The car is available in 10 colors, including some very bright ones such as Red Hot and Riptide Blue Metalic. There are four highly appealing interior color options.
Are you ready to feel your blood pumping hard as you speed down the track? Come to Bacon Chevrolet to see the Camaro up close.
