u and ney met for the first time at the brazil world cup

u had been a fan of his since his glory days in santos and his starting years in barcelona

through ney, u got to know the brazil legends

say ricardo kaká, say phil coutinho, say roberto firmino; say literally any brazil player, u have met them before

no one would dare to touch u because ur ney's friend

that's how powerful he is

he always offers to take u out with brazil during the international break

after training, ney insists u and the guys play a friendly game

u could pick out ur team and all, it's very cute (in my head)

he makes sure u get the best seats to watch the game

he invites u to squad dinner after every game brazil had under their campaign

overall, he's just a really amazing dude

it's a blast to get to hang out w him

besides u and neymar, richarlison is the other dude ur attached at the hip w

u think he's the funniest guy you've ever met

and he thinks ur the prettiest girl he's ever known

u helped him dye his hair platinum blonde for the world cup

yep it was u

he gave u the shirt he wore on the very first match of brazil's campaign

and u wore that shirt every time brazil had to square up until their loss against croatia

i feel like richy is the kind to invite u to his hotel room so he could get a shit ton of room service

kinda weird. but it's actually kinda cute

he would make jokes solely bc he wants to hear ur laugh

if u don't laugh at his jokes, he literally dies inside

he's pretty overprotective

long time no wip wednesday

tagged by various people over the past few weeks, but most recently by @ivymarquis to share some a piece of a wip!

been having a creative dry spell recently, so technically this is a super old piece of writing, but i'm returning to this character study of a fictional mafioso (portrayed by luca martinelli (of the old guard fame)) in FX's 2018 historical drama, Trust, which is about the kidnapping and ransom of John Paul Getty III. I defs recommend it if you haven't watched it. Brendan Fraser plays a cowboy who breaks the 4th wall and also Hillary Swank is in it and she's very good. this is super niche so no pressure to read if you don't want to. i'll go back to the regularly scheduled fc5 fic eventually.

Reggio Calabria, 1982

“I thought you were in Rome,” Leonardo says to Primo in lieu of a proper hello.

You’re always in Rome, goes unsaid, and the exasperated flash of abject terror across poor Leo’s face makes silent questions of What happened? and Why are you here? louder than the blaring horns and ambient noise of the docks. Leonardo never was good at concealing his emotions. Wore his thoughts on his face like a book to be read.

Primo pulls a cigarette and lighter from his pockets. “Everything’s fine,” he says. Then, he lights the cigarette and brings it to his mouth to take a drag. “It’s good to see you too.”

It’s a gorgeous day in late May. The temperature lazes in the high twenties, and the sun shines like a motherfucker over the Port of Gioia Tauro. Just beyond the influx of ships, the waves of the Tyrrhenian Sea are capped with glittering diamonds, rich enough to fill a jewelry store a thousand times over. It’s picturesque and beautiful, something right off the shitty postcards that tourists buy.

If Primo were a more sentimental man, he might have missed it here. But the scenery wasn’t what brought him back to Calabria. The metaphorical diamonds he’s interested in lie not atop the lapping waves, but hidden within the freight and cargo of the metal monsters that came to berth in the harbor.

His harbor.

Well, his and Leonardo’s.

Mostly Leonardo’s.

The Nizzuto name isn’t anywhere to be found on the official paperwork, but the strings gently -- and other times not so gently -- being plucked and pulled in the shadows were moved by Primo’s skilled hands.

Leonardo had wanted to go as legitimate as possible to allow his son a life that wasn’t blood, death, and violence. Primo, who knows no other way to live, doesn’t pretend to understand the reasoning behind Leo’s decision, but he does appreciate a good cover operation and knows an opportunity when he sees one. The best way to get away with illegal business is to hide it behind perfectly fair and good trade.

Leo is still looking at him with an expression that’s waiting for a shoe to drop. From anyone else, the look would have been insulting. Doubting Primo’s abilities so boldly in front of him would get most people a broken jaw. But he’s known Leo long enough that it’s just fun to watch the old man stress himself out.

Primo sniffs, raises a shoulder in a slight shrug. “There’s a shipment coming in today. I want to be there when it arrives.”

The sigh that escapes Leonardo is one of pure relief and Primo rolls his eyes behind his sunglasses as the tension immediately dissolves from the other man’s shoulders. “So you’re here on business, then,” Leonardo says.

“Here on business,” Primo nods.

“I see,” Leo says. There’s no mention that “business” means drugs and guns and other things illegally obtained to be sold on the streets and back alleys of Rome. No mention that the drugs and guns were bought illegally as well. Business is vague and nebulous, not to be talked about in public and only to be discussed behind closed doors, preferably with a bottle of wine, much like most other parts of Primo’s life.

Leonardo lights his own cigarette and the two stand there in amicable, but somewhat awkward silence. He wants to say more; wants Primo to say more, but they both know that Primo has nothing else to say. He’s here on business. That’s all there is. They stand at arms length, never any closer, and watch the bustle of the dock workers and sailors as they haul cargo to and fro.

Eventually, Leo says, “You should come for dinner. Francesco has graduated from University. Business. He wishes to see you again.”

This catches Primo’s attention. It’s subtle: his head cocked to the side, a slight straightening of his spine. “Is he here?” Primo asks.

The party (El and max included) go to the movies. What are they watching? Who's sitting by who? Who get's cold but refused to bring a jacket? Do they run into the adults/older teens? Who gets to hold the popcorn? Who gets a drink and who steals their drink? When one of the couples kisses/flirts during the movie, who attacks them for being too disruptive?

They're seeing Beetlejuice (1988) because I am convinced that the duffle bags will be too cowardly to put Winona in front of a Bj poster in s5

-- Dustin has the loudest laugh in the theater and it's embarrassing, but also endearing

-- Lucas is unironically scared and holding onto Max for dear life

-- Mike pretends to be scared so that Will will hold his hand, but Will refuses on principle, and just makes fun of him for being a wimp

-- Jane believes in ghosts. She will try to dress like Lydia.

-- (she stops when Hop says it reminds him of the make over Kali gave her.)

-- Seating: Dustin-Jane-Max-Lucas-Will-Mike all in a line

-- Steve is working at the movie theater so he snuck them in through the fire exit

-- Will gets cold and Mike purposely brought a jacket solely because he knew this would happen

-- There is one bucket of the largest size of popcorn being passed up and down the line the whole time (except dustin keeps hogging it and Janes keeps throwing bits at Mike and Will whenever they kiss

-- Max teases them for it, so Lucas kisses her

-- Dustin, Max, and Jane all have their own sodas. Lucas and Will are sharing one. Max makes a comment about how they’re basically kissing and Mike (who smuggled in an entire bottle of martinelli's just for himself) gets really jealous.

-- Erica (who came with them, but is sitting in front of them (directly in front of Lucas so she can sit on her feet and block his view if she wants to (which she does))) keeps turning around to shush them

The Takeover - Part Eight

Kate stepped into the hairdressers in her pinstriped suit, with a black shirt and white tie on and a fedora covering her hair. She raised the Tommy gun in her gloved hands and heard a couple of customers scream. Police Captain Fred Folassi looked up from the barbers chair, his face covered in shaving foam. His bodyguard next to him was reading the newspaper and Folassi looked panicked. "Oh f-" he began to say.

BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM. Kate smiled as she squeezed the trigger and her submachine gun began firing into everyone in the room. The mirrors smashed from stray bullets and there were screams of pain as the half-dozen customers and staff inside ate the lead from her gun. BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM. She concentrated her final few bullets into Folassi and his bodyguard before the gun ran empty and she took a second to admire the carnage she had created.

It was daytime and she knew she would be visible to passers-by as she exited onto the street but didn't care. The gang had been carrying out a series of hits in public on the remaining Martinelli gangsters and their sympathisers recently. Whilst Helen's name was never in the newspapers, talk of the fearsome pinstriped gang of female assassins had been on every lip and in every ear. The 'Speakeasy Slaughter' as the papers had dubbed it, was just the latest in their infamous spree and Kate knew that the Martinelli's were reeling after the slaughter and the tide had clearly turned in Helen's favour.

She got into her car and sped away from the crime scene, finally joining a rendezvous point at a factory on the outskirts of the city that Helen and the gang had recently been able to acquire. She pulled up in the car and found that Helen, Annie and Suzy were all waiting and talking in an animated fashion.

"What's up?" Kate asked, curious what was going on.

Helen turned to her. "It seems that Rico Martinelli is making one last roll of the dice," she said. "He has no sons anymore but his brother Luca is still a man of influence. My sources can't find any trace of where Rico is holed up for definite, but they've been following Luca".

"He's been on quite a journey," Suzy said, "around a number of cities in California. We think he's recruiting".

"Yes" Helen continued, "the Martinelli's have distant cousins in those cities. My guess is they're trying to bring in additional muscle from the other families".

"Woah" Kate said, "but surely he'd have to give up a lot for that".

"You bet" Helen said, "my guess is he's probably used every last penny he can get his hands on, everything to get more manpower. They think they can outgun us, and they might be able to, if they weren't so damn foolish".

"What do you mean?" Kate said.

"I mean that the Martinelli's aren't the only ones with connections" Helen said, "Annie, tell Kate what you found out".

"I've got a sister in San Merido" Annie said, "and she's been keeping an eye on things. She called up this morning and said she saw a large convoy of cars all departing together. She even recognised a couple of guys in it, Luca Martinelli and Gabriel Pozzi who's a lieutenant in her city. There's so many cars they have to take the main highways".

"And that's our chance to strike," Helen said, "we're going to intercept them on the way into the city and waste them. Rico thinks he's bringing in battle-tested reinforcements. We'll give him an army of corpses. We're going to get all the women together, we need to move on this now".

It had been a busy afternoon for Kate. She was now in the backseat of a car driven by Jessie and with Ruth in the passenger seat, all the women dressed in their own pinstriped suits and with plenty of ammunition in the Thompson submachine guns ready to be used.

They were ready for war. Helen had let them know this was likely to be the decisive battle against the Martinelli crew. If they could cut down the reinforcements and take out Rico's brother, the don himself would be exposed. With no support, no money and no muscle, his hold on the city would be broken. There was tension in the car, none of the women speaking as they headed out of the city towards the main highway that connected Pacific City with the other cities to the south of them.

Each time they came up to a car, Kate found herself placing one hand on her Tommy gun but none of them were at the head of a column of cars with other gangsters in them. She knew their assigned task was a challenging one. When they saw the column, they would alert the other three cars that followed them before heading to the back of the line and attacking from there whilst Helen and the other cars attacked from the front. They did however, have some secret weapons that she knew the Martinelli lackeys would not be expecting.

The bodywork on all of their cars had been reinforced with layers of thick steel that would make them bulletproof and Ruth had a couple of military-style grenades that she could lob towards the column of cars and cause disruption. They would also have the element of surprise. She doubted that the mobsters coming up from elsewhere on the West Coast would know all that much of Helen and her gang. Luca Martinelli might have tried to warn them, but the sad truth was that outside of Pacific City the idea of a female gangster, let alone an all-female mob was simply unheard of.

She looked out ahead. The roads wound through the countryside and looked brand new - paid for using state funds that she knew had partially gone to a Martinelli-owned company. The actual cost had been less than half what the state had paid for it. There was something fitting about the roads being used as a battleground where the Martinellis power would finally be stripped away. Finally, she spotted something - a convoy of what looked to be six cars coming in the other direction.

Kate picked up her binoculars and looked closer. The front car had three men in suits and fedoras in it, one seeming to be holding a shotgun. The next car had four men, including the unmistakable long face and moustache of Luca Martinelli. "Heads up!" she cried to the other women in the car, "this is them!"

"Let's make them pay," Ruth said, picking up her Tommy gun and chambering a round. Kate did the same before she wound down her window slightly. BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! Jessie sounded the car horn from the front three times as their signal to the other women that followed. Kate steeled herself.

"Go past them at a decent pace" Ruth instructed, "we want to cut off the rear. Kate, as we go past, give them hell". Kate licked her lips. She would give them everything. Every bullet with her. The lead car of the convoy approached them and Jessie sped up her car. Kate rested the barrel of her Tommy gun on the window ledge and as they passed the first car she shot low and towards its tyres.

BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM. She let out a stream of bullets, Ruth in the front seat doing the same, and immediately heard a popping sound as the tires on the first two cars were hit. They started smoking and swerving around the road but Jessie pressed on. BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM. She continued to shoot at the tires on the cars and saw all the drivers in the convoy reacting in shock as they saw her and Ruth, pinstriped angels ready to slaughter them. BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM. She fired and finished the magazine as they passed the last vehicle.

Jessie slammed on the brakes as they did so, moving behind the convoy of Martinelli cars and blocking their retreat. Suzy, Nellie, Rose and Olivia were in the next car after them and did the same. At the top of the column, she knew Helen, Annie and the other women would block off the front. The Martinelli mobsters were now trapped in a killing zone. Kate changed the magazine on her Tommy gun quickly and stayed with it pointing out of the car. Two cars in front of her had collided and the men inside were desperately trying to get out.

BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM. She unloaded her gun, firing towards their chests and shoulders and backs, breaking glass in the car windows and seeing the men jerk as her bullets hit home. "Mmmm" she moaned to herself in pleasure as she continued to pull the trigger. BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM. The cacophony of noise was increased as Jessie and Ruth opened fire from her car too, as did the other women next to them in the other car.

Their Thompsons roared and gave the gangsters no escape. Whether they stayed in the car or not, they were mown down. BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM. Kate listened and heard she was not the only woman moaning as the men were shot. All around her were the sounds of death or the enjoyment of it. BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM. "Mmmm, ooohhh, mmmm, yeessss!"

Her gun barrel was smoking as she finished the second magazine. "Push forward!" Ruth shouted to the women and once Kate had changed the magazine, she got out of the car and began walking towards the next car. It had overturned on the road and the men inside were trying to crawl out.

"Too fucking easy!" Suzy shouted to the side before levelling her Tommy gun towards the suited men. She giggled and started shooting BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM. Kate and Ruth both joined in and laid waste to the men's torsos and heads. BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM. Kate picked on one man in particular, putting a slew of bullets into his head until it seemed to dissolve and disintegrate. BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM.

They pushed on, changing magazines again but hearing more shots BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM behind them as Jessie laid waste to some of the dead bodies they had already created. At the next car, one man had already gotten out and threw his hands in the air in surrender. Kate smirked at him before her and Suzy let him know there would be no chance to get out of it alive. BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM. Their gloved fingers curled around their triggers and shot him all over his body, working him up and down BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM.

BOOM! The car he had got out of exploded and Kate turned to see that Ruth had thrown one of the grenades at it. The other men who were near it turned and screamed but were caught in the bullets of the advancing women BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM. There were screams of death, screams of the guns and screams of delight as the women continued their massacre.

The front two cars had had a chance to form a bit of a defensive front and Kate saw Luca Martinelli barking orders at the men with him. They were sheltering from Helen's relentless attacks from the front that had already claimed a couple of gangsters' lives, their bodies full of holes and bleeding over the tarmac. The cars provided them some cover from Helen and her other women at the front but at the back they were now completely exposed.

Luca seemed to realise too late. He turned his Tommy gun towards the rearguard of women advancing but it was too late. Kate, Ruth, Rose, Suzy and Nellie started to open fire on him and the other men. BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM. Their Tommy guns created a wall of death, spewing every last bullet from fresh 50-round drums into him and the other men. A couple of men tried to stand and run but Helen, Annie and the others cut them down. BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM.

Kate was convinced she might have to have her trousers re-tailored, she had cum so much in pleasure during the massacre and she revelled in the feeling as she simultaneously squirted from the barrel of her gun and inside her knickers. BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM. "Ooooooh". She could tell from the sounds around her she was not the only one. BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM. Eventually the guns were all silent and the women stood there, each enjoying a moment of pleasure, the barrels on the dozen Tommy guns used just quietly smoking away as they took in the pause.

Each of the hoodlums were clearly dead. Only a few were even recognisable as men. Helen picked her way through the cars. She had lit a cigarette and was smoking it as she walked around the group, each woman looking at her expectantly but she was just taking in the scene. She stopped by Luca Martinelli's body and put the heel of her shoe into the man's crotch. He didn't move. She held the cigarette in her mouth whilst she aimed her Tommy gun down at his head and fired a volley - BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM- that painted the roadside with his brains.

She took the cigarette out of her mouth and breathed a long plume of smoke out. "Excellent work ladies" she told the assembled crowd, "the city is ripe for taking, no-one can st-". She broke off her speech as they all heard the wail of a police siren. Kate reloaded her weapon but Helen put her hand up. "No ladies, this one's mine," she said. She reloaded her own Tommy gun. "Watch this" she said and Kate looked at how Helen brazenly walked towards the approaching car.

It screeched to a halt and the two police officers inside both opened their doors and sheltered behind them, pointing their revolvers at Helen. "Freeze!" they shouted, "freeze and get down!". Helen didn't move. Instead she smoked her cigarette some more and just stared the cops down. "F-freeze" one repeated, "th-throw the weapon down". Their voices sounded more and more unsure. "L-l-last chance" he said.

The two cops looked at each other unsuredly as Helen didn't move. Kate was in awe of Helen. She hadn't even raised her gun and already the two cops were looking shaky. "Oh fuck" one of them said, and ducked back into the car, his partner doing the same. It was only then that Helen raised her Thompson submachine gun to her hip. Kate watched the two cops look on in horror before BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM. Helen blazed through the car window with her bullets and the cops jerked in their seats as the bullets ripped up their chests. BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM-BAM. Helen continued to fire until both men were dead and the sirens on the car had stopped blaring.

She turned to face the women who were all staring, completely starstruck by their boss's ability. Helen stamped out her cigarette. "As I said, no-one will stand in our way now" she said calmly. "Now let's go back. It's time to put our final plans in motion. WIthin two days, this city will be all ours".

Kate had no doubt in what Helen said. She cheered before they headed back to their respective cars and what would be a victory lap back into Pacific City.

Every Premier League club’s most famous fan

Who does the Queen support? Here's your team's A-list supporter…

Georgi Kinkladzi is still friends with the Gallagher brothers to this day. The ex-Manchester City playmaker got chatting to the Oasis lads back in the 90s and he told FFT this issue that he was impressed by the pair's fanatical devotion to the club.

“Oasis always had my respect, as they were die-hard City supporters and wouldn’t miss a match unless they were on tour,” Kinkladze said. And these Rock N Roll Stars aren't alone - incredibly famous people follow the Premier League, just like the rest of us.

So who’s your club’s biggest fan? And we mean fan – someone who actually attends games and screams at the telly, not just an A-list actor who was presented with a shirt once.

Arsenal

Take your pick. Arsenal are followed by politicians (Keir Starmer, John Bercow, Jeremy Corbyn), comedians (Dara O’Briain, Matt Lucas, Alan Davies) and actors (Colin Firth, Mark Strong, Daisy Ridley) alike. They’ve even got infamous supporters who disgrace the rest of the bunch – see Osama Bin Laden and Piers Morgan.

While Jay-Z and Chris Martin have visited the Emirates in recent years, there isn’t much proof that the pair are diehards. Likewise, Prince Harry reportedly supports Arsenal but hasn’t spoken as much about football as his brother, William. Rihanna was friends with Mesut Ozil, but we’d wager that she hasn’t been through the hardships of the Nicklas Bendtner days to truly call herself a Gooner.

In terms of proper Arsenal fans who are genuinely excited about Gabriel Martinelli, the most famous is probably Idris Elba. Luther himself helped run the 'No More Red' campaign of this season and appeared in a kit launch video for the club's 2019/20 kit, claiming “I could’ve played for Arsenal you know,” before telling his mates that he was top scorer at Under-9 level for Canning Town. Perhaps Mikel Arteta’s found a long-term replacement for Alex Lacazette…

Aston Villa

As the biggest club in a major UK city, it’s understandable that Aston Villa have plenty of notable followers. Three-quarters of Black Sabbath, actor David Bradley and even former PM David Cameron all follow the claret and blue – though Cameron did once forget which team he supported and claim to be a Hammer instead.

But in terms of who takes the title of the most famous, it’s hard to argue with Prince William. He seems to genuinely loves the club, looked mightily upset when handing runners-up medals to his team in the 2015 FA Cup final and has gone on record about how much he loves Aston Villa. He’s president of the FA too, which is more of a credential than most of us have to prove we love the beautiful game.

Is he the most famous fan though? Tom Hanks is apparently a big Villa fan – since 2001, no less. And only one of them played Forrest Gump...

Bournemouth

Bournemouth isn't exactly a big town – and its club aren't particularly big, either. Many residents actually support Southampton, so picking a most famous fan is a tough ask. Seth Rogan is apparently a Cherry, but is he actually?

Probably not. Former Celebrity Masterchef champion is reportedly a fan, too – it's doubtful just how big, though, considering she's not from the area. Alex James from Blur said he was a fan on Soccer AM once, so we'll give it him – partly because the only other big shout is for Matt Tong, the drummer from Bloc Party, who used to be on the AFCB fan forum. It's slim pickings, unfortunately.

Brentford

Cameron Diaz is apparently a Brentford fan. That's pretty impressive - though it's reported that the Hollywood A-lister is a Bee thanks to restauranteur Dan Tana, so it's unlikely she'd be able to pick Thomas Frank out of a line-up.

Greg Dyke is a fan of Brentford (though it's claimed he also follows Man United), Dean Gaffney from Eastenders supports the club too, while Phil Collins used to watch the Bees before getting a season ticket at QPR. Ex-Sky Sports presenter Natalie Sawyer and Yes keyboard Rick Wakeman are both fans, too: we like to imagine them sat together.

Though they're not the most famous people individually, however, we're going to give the title to Hard Fi's Richard Archer and The Bluetones' Adam Devlin as a joint bid, since their devotion is perhaps stronger than anyone else's. Their bands are quite famous, too – more when combined – and together they recorded a song dedicated to ex-winger Jota.

Brighton & Hove Albion

One name comes to mind when you think of Brighton fans. Well, two, depending on whether you call him Norman Cook or Fatboy Slim. He’s the town’s most famous export and has played gigs at the Amex.

Cook is in good company though. Des Lynam, Jon Snow (from the news, not Game of Thrones) and Simon Cowell are all Seagulls, though Cowell has admitted his is more of a passing interest than a full-blown fanatical devotion. Jamie Theakston and Michael Fish complete a who’s who of yesteryear faces who also follow the Albion.

Chelsea

Situated in one of the poshest areas of London, it’s perhaps no surprise that Chelsea can count Natalie Dormer, Jeremy Clarkson, Mark Ronson, Ellie Goulding, Gordon Ramsey and Cara Delevigne as Blues fanatics. Damon Albarn from Gorillaz has had a season ticket most of his adult life too, and even led a chant at a gig in Belgium, in tribute to Eden Hazard.

In terms of the most famous fan, Will Ferrell is up there: he’s appeared at Soccer Aid and now owns Los Angeles FC, so it’s genuine support, rather than wanting to look cool and fit in with other celebrities. But even Ron Burgundy probably can’t argue with Alfie.

Michael Caine has followed the west Londoners through the thin as well as the thick, famously telling a reporter once that he was off to watch the Blues on his “big high def” telly. Not a lot of people know that.

Crystal Palace

Former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan was apparently once shocked when star of Schindler’s List, Star Wars and Taken, Liam Neeson, phoned him asking for tickets to Selhurst Park. There are conflicting reports regarding Neeson’s penchant for Liverpool too, but there are other stars who are confirmed Eagles fans.

Comedian Eddie Izzard once claimed, “All I really want is for Crystal Palace to win every game from now until the end of time - that's all”; two of The Inbetweeners follow Palace too (Simon Bird and James Buckley) and Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid sang Wilfried Zaha’s “He's just too good for you” chant on air after he had been called up to the England squad. Apparently, even Nigel Farage is a Palace fan.

Bill Nighy has to be the most famous, though. The Love Actually star is patron of the CPFRIS (Crystal Palace FC Fast Results & Information Service) Disabled Children’s Club and one Christmas, he addressed the Palace faithful, speaking of his pride to be an Eagle.

Everton

Beatle Paul McCartney grew up an Everton fan but later admitted he supports local rivals Liverpool as well, given his connection to the city and some of the Reds’ biggest stars. Macca says that he has “special dispensation from the Pope”, but it does weaken his shout for the most famous Toffees fan around, even if he was in the most famous band of all time.

Rocky star Sylvester Stallone is reportedly a big enough fan of Everton to regret not buying them in 2007. His boxer pal Tony Bellew is a diehard toffee himself, but perhaps not the most well-known of celebrities to follow them. Nicola Roberts from Girls Aloud, Amanda Holden, Shane MacGowan and John McEnroe could all be considered pretty famous Blues.

But perhaps the best bid belongs to Judi Dench. Not only is M herself a big fan along with her husband and son, she’s a patron of Everton's official charity, Everton in the Community.

Fulham

Fulham have a surprisingly famous fanbase. Rather like Chelsea, they're situated in west London – but still, boasting the likes of Hugh Grant, Barry from Eastenders, Richard Osman, Keith Chegwin and Eminem (apparently) is impressive.

The most famous, though? It's not even close: Margot Robbie has said she's a Fulham fan and been pictured with a Whites' scarf. Given that she's actually been spotted at the Cottage a few times too, it seems fair to give her the title.

Leeds United

Leeds is a one-club city, making Leeds United massively supported. The Kaiser Chiefs are named after Leeds legend Lucas Radebe's former club, while Nasser Hussain, Nick Faldo and Ken Hom all follow the Whites.

There are certainly big shouts for the most famous. Chris Moyles was the biggest radio DJ in Britain at one point, Ed Miliband almost became PM – and actually didn't share his liking of football much as he feared it would count against him at the polls – while Gareth Gates, Jeremy Paxman and Jon Bon Jovi have all been counted in the Elland Road faithful in the past.

But the winner? Russell Crowe. The Kiwi-born actor narrated Leeds documentary Take Us Home but he's actually a massive supporter, having followed them for years. "I used to come home from sport in the afternoon, me and my brother, and watch Match of the Day," Maximus Decimus Meridius himself once claimed. He will see them win the Premier League one day – in this life or the next.

Leicester City

Mention the words “Leicester City” and one man comes to mind. Gary Lineker doesn’t just take the crown of Leicester’s most famous fan and player, but their most famous son while he’s at it. His dad owned a market stall in the town centre and on uni open days at Leicester University, students are shown where Linekers’ parents live en route to the accommodation. The man basically runs the city.

Lineker isn’t the only talented footballer with allegiances to Leicester. Kasabian guitarist Sergio Pizzorno is not just a decent player – as proven on Soccer Aid and Soccer AM – he’s so crazy about his club that he wore their socks when having trials with another club. Serge’s close friend and Mighty Boosh star Noel Fielding is supposedly a Colchester fan, though.

Leicester can also count Manish Bhasin from BBC Sport in their fanbase, crooner Engelbert Humperdink and Lib Dem politician Lembit Opik. The 2003 rugby hero Martin Johnson is also Leicester born and bred, meaning Lineker isn’t the only famous England World Cup star from the area.

Liverpool

When you’ve been the kings of Europe six times, you’re bound to pick up some big admirers: still, boasting Nelson Mandela, Angelina Jolie, Samuel L Jackson, and LeBron James is taking the biscuit.

That’s not all. Dr Dre has been a fan since 1988 – perhaps he’s heard John Barnes rap – but given that he said he “read about” their 2001 UEFA Cup win, he’s perhaps not the biggest Red. Gary Barlow counts himself a Liverpool fan but given Take That pal Robbie Williams’s links to Soccer Aid, if he was as big a fan as Robbie, we’d probably all know about it.

US songstress Lana Del Rey has claimed that she loved watching Luis Suarez play and got into Liverpool a few years ago. While that’s pretty cool, we’re going to give the most famous Red to Daniel Craig. When meeting the likes of Sadio Mané and Mohamed Salah, he looked genuinely starstruck, which is impressive considering he has a license to kill.

Manchester City

There's only one team in Manchester, so the old joke goes. Pick almost any famous face from the city and you'll fine they might be blue rather than red: Ian Curtis, Johnny Marr, Rick Wakeman, Alan Carr, Timothy Dalton and Alan Rickman are or were all reported followers. Pre-money, too. As much as it would annoy them to pick David Hasselhoff over them as Manchester City’s biggest fan, though – yes, apparently that’s true – there’s no denying that Noel and Liam Gallagher are the two biggest Citizens going. Noel has been on Super Sunday, interviewed Mario Balotelli and even celebrated titles with the squad.

He’s not just a City fan though, but a good luck charm for Italy. After Alessandro Del Piero spotted him at a match in 2006, he asked the Oasis star to come to the World Cup final, in the same clothes, as he believed him to be a good luck charm. “It goes without saying,” Gallagher recalled. “Who won the World Cup? Noelly G.”

Manchester United

Manchester United have the most supporters in the world. It’s unsurprising then that the likes of Floyd Mayweather, Megan Fox, Justin Timberlake, Steve Coogan and Thom Yorke are all Red Devils. But who’s the biggest?

Eamon Holmes got into United because of George Best and even read a eulogy at his funeral. Drake has claimed to support United but famously flip-flops between clubs, cursing them as he goes. Karl Pilkington, Rory McIlroy, Danny Boyle, John Simm and even Kim Jong Un are all apparently fans too. A special mention must go to rapper Dave, who openly references the club in his music and was even been pictured trying to tap up Jadon Sancho for a move while the winger was at Dortmund.

The fastest man in the world, Usain Bolt, is a huge Red and has been pictured at United games and their training ground a few times now - but we’re going to pick Stormzy as the most famous, given that he’s on the up and Bolt’s star has peaked (sorry, Usain). Big Mike even helped unveil Paul Pogba.

Newcastle United

Newcastle is a massive city with massive fans. See Sting, Cheryl Cole, Brian Blessed, Gabby Logan, James Bay, Sam Fender and even Tony Blair, whose prized possession is a No.9 shirt signed by Alan Shearer.

Really though, there’s only ever going to be one winner. Well, two. Ant and Dec are the Toon’s most famous export/s, appear on the odds list to manage the club every time the manager's job is vacant. Howay, the lads.

Nottingham Forest

Forest were massive in the 70s so it's no surprise that they've had their fair share of famous fans over the years. James Dean Bradfield of the Manic Street Preachers, cricketer Stuart Broad and politician Ken Clarke are all apparently supporters.

But we're going for Carl Froch. He's certainly famous enough and displayed his fanatical devotion to the Tricky Trees by wearing their colours in interviews and appearing on Soccer AM. Plus, we don't dare argue with him that he's not the most famous.

Southampton

It’s not a great start when you mention a member of Coldplay that isn’t Chris Martin. Drummer Will Champion, however, has a season ticket at Southampton.

Lucy Pinder, Chris Packham and David Frost all make the cut of famous Saints fans (some more famous than others), but probably the most famous must go to Craig David. The RnB singer has been a fan of the club all his life, but he often misses midweek games, given that he’s usually making love on Wednesday.

Tottenham Hotspur

Louis van Gaal is a legend at Barcelona, Ajax and Bayern Munich. But he grew up a Tottenham Hotspur fan, citing Jimmy Greaves and the “fantastic white shirts” for his fandom.

He’s not the only surprising Spurs fan. Avelino, Annie Mac, JK Rowling, AJ Tracey and Dave Bautista all claim to follow the Lilywhites, while legendary broadcasters Trevor McDonald and Barry Davies are also apparently huge Tottenham fans. A special mention should also go to Lord Sugar, who was chairman of the club at one point, but remains a loyal fan to this day (even if he did admire Arsene Wenger).

The most famous Spurs fan though has to go to Adele. She's headlined Glastonbury, won Grammy and Brit awards… but hasn't received quite the same accolades for her rendition of "Glory Glory Tottenham Hotspur", unfortunately.

West Ham United

A debate rages over the biggest celebrity West Ham United follower. You see, if Queen Elizabeth II really does follow the Irons, she’s undoubtedly the top corgi. But did she call Dimitri Payet a judas when he left? Would she declare “one thinks Mark Noble is the East End Xavi”? According to rumours, she took a shine to Cesc Fabregas when Arsenal visited the palace years ago: if she is a Hammer, she’d have been livid with him joining Chelsea.

Since no one’s likely to confirm Her Majesty’s support for West Ham any time soon, we have to fall back on the famous faces we know support them. Ray Winstone, Kriss Akabusi, Keira Knightly, John Cleese, Len Goodman and Triple H is quite a line-up. Russell Brand even interrupted Sam Allardyce’s post-match interview to kiss him.

Love him or loathe him, it’s probably James Corden for the most famous. The TV host and Tony Award-winner has made no secret of his love for West Ham, and his character Smithy Gavin and Stacey from is naturally also a Hammer. So it’s Corden. Unless it’s the Queen.

Wolverhampton Wanderers

Luke Skywalker supports Wolverhampton Wanderers. OK, Mark Hammill was asked to support them by a fan group and later admitted, “I only became an accidental ‘fan’ when someone asked if I liked the wolves and I said yes because I thought they meant the animal.”

Of Wolves’ fans who actually know they’re fans, Beverly Knight, Eric Idle, Edward Elgar and apparently Mike Tyson have all been reported to follow the club. Andy Murray has worn their shirt to training, though that was more because his manager supported them. Potentially the most famous must go to Robert Plant though, lead singer of the iconic rock band Led Zeppelin and vice-president of the club. Plant has been a fan of the club since he was 5.

“It's been a bloody murderous journey. This is paradise,” he said of his time following the club and their promotion under Nuno.
