Luca x Alberto Prompt #5

Luca learns a new language as an extracurricular and constantly flirts with and confesses to Alberto. He thinks he's safe because there's no way his friend could understand.

However, he forgot two things. One, Alberto has an excellent memory when it comes to copying phrases even when he doesn't understand them. Two, Giulia took the same second language course and can tell Alberto what Luca is saying when he asks her.

luberto prompt that’s been on my mind for forever

It’s the middle of spring in Portorosso, and Luca has kinda been the only thing on Alberto’s mind lately, and it’s starting to take its toll on him. When Alberto first notices it, he chalks it up to him just really missing his best friend… but then time passes and summer draws closer, the feeling only grows stronger.

It doesn’t help that there are so many things in his day to day like that remind him of Luca, and it’s become so overwhelming to the point where he can hardly focus on his job, and Massimo notices how distracted he seems. There’s just so much he wants to tell Luca, but he doesn’t know how.

And so he decided to confides in Massimo, who advises him to try putting his feelings down onto paper. It takes a little while for him to even start, but eventually, Alberto winds up pouring his heart out into a letter that takes up an entire page.

Once he’s finished, he looks it over and playfully rolls his eyes at himself for how cheesy it sounds. It’s actually kinda poetic, but you can tell that Alberto‘s the one wrote it, and not just because of his handwriting.

Afterwards, he tucks it away from safe keeping, not quite ready to actually send it. It just felt good to get some of his feelings out.

(spoiler alert: it gets sent in the mail by accident. internal panic ensues)

Ok, so, my gay fish head canon has grabbed a hold of me again.

I believe we were robbed of a scene. Alright, so, yeah, this part happens, right?

Machiavelli went for a scratch spree on Luca. We know this.

But in the very next scene, Alberto, like Luca, comes out of the house looking like he got kitty massacred too.

We only saw Machiavelli go after Luca. So how did Alberto get thrown into the mix?

Well, I think Alberto probably pulled the angry kitty off of Luca and Machiavelli didn’t like that very much. Therefore, he got scratched up too.

Just another case of protective Alberto.

Ciao once again friends, I have something I’d like to share with all of you in the Luca fandom. Take it as a headcanon, writing or drawing prompt. Basically do with it why you wish, I just wanted to share. If anyone does anything with it credit me for the idea if you want but it’s not required. I just wanna see what you make cause you guys are so talented.

So I’ve been thinking about the sea monsters their culture, behavior and physiology and how they may have contributed to sea monster legends in the human world.

Like for instance; Sirens. (Or at least the Roman take on the ones from the Odyssey) The Isle of Capri in Italy is thought to be the location described in the Odyssey where Sirens attempted to lure Odysseus and his sailors to their doom.

What if some of the sea monsters can develop this ability as they reach maturity?

Imagine a 19-20 year old Alberto, learning to play mandolin or guitar (any string instrument of choice really) and singing. The song is simple, maybe just something he heard on the radio or maybe he wrote it himself, but at some point during his singing he gets into the song, he gets really emotional.

Maybe it’s a song about missing someone dear to you, maybe it’s a love song, maybe it’s about unrequited love. Point is he’s thing of a certain green-scaled bookworm and he starts to really get in his feels. His eyes squeezed shut voice takes on a different quality, gone is the roughness of an amateur singer, suddenly its smooth, melodic and slightly ethereal. He starts belting out a siren song without realizing what he’s doing.

But conveniently, this does not work on other sea monsters so Luca is immune to it.

Now, the effect his song has could be whatever. Maybe it’s like the sirens from the Odyssey and it’s hypnotic and lures people to him. Like a love song that has some of the girls in town (not Giulia tho, our girl is definitely a lesbian and that’s her adopted brother) swooning and Guido too (Guido gives me some queer vibes for some reason) all to Luca’s dismay. (They’re mutually pining and dumb)

Or maybe it’s empathetic in nature and it causes those that hear it to feel what Alberto is feeling as he sings it. A song about being lonely, missing someone dear to you or unrequited love. People feel that ache of loneliness and it brings tears to their eyes but they don’t exactly know what’s going on.

Maybe this is just a dumb headcanon, maybe no one will like it but I liked imagining it at least. So do with what you will. Let me know what you think, share some of your sea monster headcanons with me! Have a fantastic day!

I also think there should be more male siren representation. I want my voice to attract strapping sailors too, why should lady sirens get all the fun lol.

Luberto Love Language HCs

So if you could already guess, Luca and Alberto express little signs of affection through physical touch. Throughout the movie, they have a hand or arm placed, draped, or embracing the other’s hand, arm, waist, shoulders, you get the picture. Their love language is physical touch.

But how do two people express a love language when they’re miles apart? I can imagine while Luca is in Genoa, the two get very touch starved. Luca might start getting anxious out of nowhere and Alberto might have little outbursts here and there. The phone calls and letters help, but with the two not in close proximity with each other (and being teenagers), I’m sure this comes with a string of powerful emotions.

Physical touch is one of my love languages as well and before my husband and I got married, he had joined the military while I stayed behind to finish college. We talked on the phone every day, sent letters to each other, and he even paid for my classes and books. (Talk about parallels XD) But with him being four states away from me, the lack of touch put me in very depressive moods.

So here’s some head canons and possible prompts I might use. You all are free to use them as well because I think this is such a cute concept. :3

Giulia is the first to notice that the two boys are touch starved and that’s why they’re being unbearably moody. She talks with Luca about it and they try to formulate a plan on how to express touch while being so far away

The first experiment is describing touch. They have their phone calls, but they’re not really private, so Luca instructs Alberto to go to a pay phone after Massimo goes to bed and to call him. Confused, Alberto does so and Luca starts telling him that he misses having his arm wrapped around his shoulder or holding him by the waist whenever they would ride on their makeshift Vespa’s. Everything is very light and innocent and the two talk for hours just describing all the things they miss that involves touch and that when they reunite, they’re going to rush into each other’s arms and squeeze the other so tight and never let go.

Understanding that they’re very physical creatures, Alberto decides to send one of his t-shirts to Luca. He wears it during a very busy day helping Massimo with the pescheria, doing odd jobs for the people of Portorosso, like repairing a fence or going to the grocer for one of the really elderly nonna’s. He also wears it under his salvataggio shirt. He finally sends the shirt to Luca and Luca is instantly hit with the scent of Alberto; a breathtaking mixture of the ocean, pasta, and Alberto’s own musk of sandalwood and vanilla. He takes the shirt and breathes it in deep, his heart racing as his mind floods with memories of the two of them together in Portorosso. He wears it to bed that night and has the best sleep he’s ever had since he arrived in Genoa.

Loving the shirt idea, Luca sends Alberto pictures from a field trip he and Giulia took at the planetarium. Giulia made sure to capture anytime Luca looked exceptionally fascinated, his eyes lit up like a child on Christmas morning. Alberto smiles fondly on these pictures, and is reminded that he did the right thing sending Luca to school, knowing how passionate he was about learning. He keeps his favorite picture of Luca tucked under his pillow.

Lubertober Prompt #7 - Fairy Tale

No one knows where Prince Luca is always sneaking off to, but his mother suspects it has something to do with him refusing every marriage proposal from the surrounding kingdoms.

While many people have guessed the young prince has a secret lover, none of them would have expected that lover was a sea monster boy who once saved the prince from drowning. Luca and Alberto often meet at the old abandoned docks away from prying eyes and will just spend hours talking and being romantic with each other. Of course it's hard to be together with one being human and the other being water bound, but that doesn't stop the amorous boys from giving each other all their love.

Take My Hand and Tell Me About the Stars (Preview)

“He’s going to say no! He’s going to say no, and go away Alberto, I never want to see you again.” Alberto gestured animatedly as he paced in the Marcovaldo kitchen. His hands raked through his hair. “This is a terrible idea. I should just not ask.”

Giulia stared Alberto down. Her arms were crossed, and she was leaning with her back against the wall. On the other side of the wall, the back garden was filled with chatter as friends and family ate and celebrated the end of another year. She and Alberto were the only ones in the kitchen under the guise of grabbing more wine from the pantry. “Luca’s not going to say no.”

“How do you know? Maybe he’s just been flattering me the last few years. What if we haven’t even been dating, and I just thought we were dating?” Alberto stressed. The worried look he already had deepened at the thought.

“You guys are definitely dating.” Giulia deadpanned.

“What if we haven’t been and I misread everythi—”

“Alberto.” Giulia cut him off. “You and Luca are dating. Frankly everyone is surprised the two of you haven’t proposed to each other yet. And when you do propose to Luca, he’s going to say yes.”

“How do you know? Has he talked to you about it? Wait, you didn’t tell him what I was planning for tonight, right?”

Luca had, in fact, talked to Giulia about it. He’s even brought her ring shopping with him in Genova to help him pick out something for Alberto. She’d gone ring shopping with Alberto too. Both had told her about their plans, and unbeknownst to them, they were both planning to propose tonight. Alberto had a whole plan in place with a location and everything. Luca was planning to wing it.

Giulia mocked offense, “Do you think so low of me that I’d spoil your proposal?”

Alberto stopped in his tracks, a sheepish expression crossing his face. “No, sorry. I’m just…. ”

Giulia walked over to him and placed her hands on his shoulder. “I know. It’s okay.” She glanced at the clock. “It’s already past eleven. You should grab Luca and take him to wherever you’re planning to go. I’ll distract everybody else with a fresh bottle of wine, so you two can slip away.”

Alberto’s eyes started to mist at the corner, and he pulled Giulia in for a hug. “Thank you.”

She squeezed him back and pulled away, just far enough to grab a lidded container of lentil soup. Massimo had made it for the party to eat when the clock struck twelve to bring luck and wealth into the new year. She pushed the container in Alberto’s hands, “Take this. For after he says yes.”

“Thanks,” Alberto said, shoulders loosening. He clung to the container, glad for something to remind him that there would be an after-he-proposed, an after where Luca had said yes and they were watching fireworks light up the sky.

Giulia patted his shoulder and grinned. “You got this.”

And with that, she leaned to the side, grabbed two bottles of the nice wine, and swept out the doorway. Alberto followed behind, scanning the garden for Luca. He was standing under the tree house, and, if Alberto didn’t know better, he’d say Luca looked stressed or at least overwhelmed.

He slipped beside him and placed a hand on Luca’s back and rubbed in it small circles.

“Hey,” Alberto said softly. “Do you want to get out of here?”

“Yes please,” Luca sighed. The lines of stress on his forehead melted away.
