The Lucean nature is a pastel colour, primarily pinks though deeper into the forests you get, the more green the nature becomes. However, most of it is a dusty, pastel colour (think native Australian plants). Grasses, bushes, and other shorter plants tend to err on the side of green, while larger plants such as trees tend to be pink, though there's no set rules!

For children on Lucao, their hairstyles are really up to their parents! The most common hairstyle are a lot of lil space (ha) buns , or miniature braids that look more like frosted tips than anything. Though, some wear their hair completely out and don't tie it back (though this is seen more acceptable for children). Sometimes, Luceans will shave most of their hair off (just like humans), though this is due to personal choice. Alchemists are more more likely to have shaved heads due to alchemy-related incidents.

OKAY so this originally was lucao culture but it turned into a massive quintessence rant. (Also, stuff about lance is down the bottom!)

Luceans are one of the most quintessally active species, being both holding a fair amount of quintessence and being able to channel it. Alteans were much better in both aspects in general however, in the current state of the universe, Lucaens are one of the only advanced, sentient species to have both abilities and understand the fundamentals of quintessence. Hence, why the Galra empire wished to take them over.

Because of this, Luceans are incredibly proud of their abilities, however outside Alchemists, sports, and professions where quintessal manipulation may be helpful, its use is somewhat limited, especially as technology evolves.

Although, touching on quintessence, the ability to use quintessence is based on two things: the depth of the quintessence reservoirs in a species, and their necessary nodes/pores to channel them. (Think, batteries and wires). I imagine quintessence has a metaphysical system similar to the lymphatic system, where there are nodes that store quintessence (almost like pressure points), ducts to conduct it, and additional pores that allow the exit of quintessence from the body or the ability to resonate one's quintessence with something external (which is the cause of external quintessence manipulation).

Natrually, Alteans had the highest in both aspects. Luceans are typically advanced in their quintessence channeling systems, however have only an average reservoir of quintessence. Of course, this varies within population and is kinda like a phenotype.

Humans, on the other hand, have reservoirs comparable (and even exceeding) that of Alteans, but have almost no way to channel it. Galrans have incredibly low of both, while Olkari and Balmerans tend to be higher than average in both. Since the sheer act of summoning a bayard (let alone changing its form, using projectiles on it, connecting with the lions, etc.) requires at least some form of ability to channel, the Lions tend to physically alter the physiology of their paladins so they can do such a thing.

(Side note, this kinda ties into my headcanon that the paladins age much, much slower, and generally don't experience the passage of time as heavily as others because of the Lions.) but YEAH.

OKAY NOW ONTO HOW LANCE LOOKS.

Generally, when using his powers the changes tend to be felt rather than seen. In wirip, Lance grows pale/skin gains a blue tint, and I guess you could say he has a very faint glow around him. Patches of ice/frost cover parts of his skin and hair. He looks frostbitten pretty much.

But post-wirip, the paling effect doesn't occur as drastically (this will be explained in the fic), and eventually, stops all together. There tends to be a lot of static electricity around him. Though, this is when he's normal, not overloaded.

OKAY SORRY FOR THE RANT LMAO HOPE THIS HELPS HJGDWGHWHGDJ. I have A Lot(tm) of ideas about quintessence lmao.
