Hi hello hi. As an AroAce individual in a QPR who has no desire for a romantic or sexual relationship, I think shipping Alastor in QPRs is so so fun and people should do it more. I also think it works for a good amount if not all of the ships I've seen him in.
Alastor and Rosie: Hell yeah. They're already great friends and every interaction we've seen between them has been pure and adorable. Rosie Gently guiding Alastor through his identity because he isn't exactly up with the slang. Them going out for tea and human flesh Sunday afternoons. Them giving each other forehead kisses and holding hands platonically.
Alastor and Angle dust: Mhmm. Angle not really wanting Sex or romance after all he's been through. Angle respecting Alastor's identity and not pushing for anything more than friendship. Alastor not really liking Angle at first because of their differences, But tolerating him regardles. Alastor explaining to Angle that Romantic relationships don't have to involve Sex (I'm an Asexual Angle truther.) Angle offering Alastor a hug that Alastor reluctantly accepts. Them cuddling at night with a pinky Promise of nothing more.
Alastor and Vox: Go ahead. A fic about Alastor trying to Navigate exactly how he feels about Vox, Because when he died the term AroAce didn't exist, so he thinks it's romantic attraction, Maybe they kiss and Alastor is like "Ha! No!" Maybe that's why they had their falling out? Who knows.
Alastor and Lucifer: So So SO much Yes. (This is my personal favorite) The two of them hating each other, but putting up for each other for Charlie's sake. Slowly growing to actually tolerate and maybe even like being around the other. Exchanging snarky remarks in a more playful way. Alastor finding Lucifer sitting in a pile of ducks and despair and offering his hand to help him up and take him to the hotel. Never letting go of his hand. Fuck Enemies to Friends to Lovers I want an Enemies to Friends to Qpr arc goddamnit.
I do think it's okay to ship Alastor even outside of QPR's, BUT. If you do, don't just ignore Alastor's identity. AroAce people get far less representation than the rest of the LGBTQ+ community. I can think of one other canon Character off the top of my head. So it's not okay to erase the little rep we do get. In the end I think it's important to listen to what AroAce people have to say on the matter, it is our representation after all.

Fucking hell Nightbringer really gave me everything huh god
Henry 1.0 origin story
Cerberus origin story
Satan's cat thing origin story
"Goldie in Freezer" origin story
Levi's Ruri-chan obsession origin story
Mammon being scared of ghosts/horror origin story
More in depth version of Solomon & Asmo's first meeting/pact origin story
A painful reason for why Asmo's room looks like that
What the tsl characters would have been like irl (the absolute worst wtf simeon)
Mammon's issues finally discussed in depth
Mammon being extremely ride or die for Lucifer
Almost instant Mammon & MC friendship
Mammon being just so amazed by MC and also insanely supportive of them
Mammon being willing to do anything for his brothers, being more sure of himself, almost instantly following Lucifer's orders and making the others do so as well
Levi's issues discussed in depth.
Levi straight up saying he was depressed and still is
Levi's friendship with MC!
Levi & Lucifer's relationship!!!!!
Levi being shy and scared and just so 😖
Things being bad in the Celestial Realm even before they left
Asmo's issues being discussed in depth
Asmo very explicitly having body dysmorphia
The brothers being much more supportive and loving of each other
Lucifer being visibly scared of losing another family member and being insanely overprotective because of it
The brothers being slowly overtaken by their sins (something that was always a part of them but also something they could control as angels) and losing control of themselves
The brothers gaining new magic
Satan being a fucking mess
Satan not really fitting in and all of them being really awkward around him
Satan's issues being discussed in depth
Belphie's issues being discussed in depth
Belphie expressing passive suicidal ideation
Belphie talking about how he needs someone to blame for what happened to Lilith so he can process it/make sense of it even if that someone is himself
Lucifer's issues being touched on from from different perspectives/angles
Diavolo's issues being hinted at
Simeon's issues being vaguely discussed
More about Lilith! (remember my post about how lilith definitely wasn't a sweet little angel because there's no way the universe would let lucifer catch a break? I was right!!! She was as much a little shit as the rest of her family!)
More about the demon king! (He wanted to stop the war too🥺 also a whole line of previous demon kings!)
More about god/how angels work (all angels are brothers & sisters but not technically family the way lucifer & his siblings are!)
ADAM!?!?!?!?!?
Solomon & MC's Sorcerer & Apprentice relationship seen in full detail!
MC being absolutely amazing
MC being competent and powerful and dangerous and resourceful and confident and the brothers realising all that but them also being funny and snarky and chaotic and outgoing and homesick and caring
References to present (s1-s4) brothers (& how they'll tear solomon apart if he doesn't bring MC back)
NIGHTBRINGER!? BARBATOS!!!??? but past barbatos doesn't seem to know anything about MC and present barbatos is helping solomon bring MC back....so who...?
References to Noble demons and conservative demons and devildom politics
Angel - Demon prejudice /racism from both sides explicitly shown
The brothers being war criminals and how the devildom sheltering them nearly re-started the war between the two realms
None of them being able to identify MC as a human (it takes Diavolo a long time + Lucifer straight up denies it when MC tells him), Adam & Nightbringer saying MC has the "power of angels", MC's favourite manga being one where the youngest child out of 7 is described as being angelic (*cough*lilith*cough*), Diavolo, even after knowing MC is a human, going "what are you"..... me softly chanting: nephilim!mc nephilim!mc nephilim!mc
The lessons flow better? It doesn't feel like one arc is squished into two lessons and then you must immediately jump into another different arc. It feels like it's all just happening in a connected sequence?
Better pacing in my opinion. It doesn't feel rushed.... like the part where satan discovers cats and then later is seen still sitting next to the cat and watching it? It feels appropriately spaced out
MC's relationships with everyone doesn't feel isolated. Like earlier there'd be a lesson or two dedicated to one character and we won't see much of the other characters during it. Now it feels like everyone is there interacting with everything in a normal, natural way. Yes there are lessons dedicated to getting to know one brother but the others are there, interacting with each other and MC during that time as well
The emotions & relationships are discussed/written in a way that feels very real and believable that it becomes actually really moving (s1-s4 also did this well but in nightbringer because of arcs/scenes/relationships not being isolated, of things flowing better and having a better pacing, of them outright discussing their issues it has a greater impact - yes I cried more than once shut up)
In the end, Nighbringer is darker than og OM! but not in the "grrr gonna kill you" way. It's "darker" because they address more serious topics in depth

True Story
Tumblr media
Chapter 9 > Chapter 10 < Epilogue
Shock and being scared was an understatement of feelings that Lucifer, Charlie and the others are facing right now. The others follow Lucifer like a lost puppy, as they walked through the halls of the horror Playhouse.
Lucifer remembered every angle of this place. This is where he began creating things for heaven and then for Lilith.
Or rather it was.
His eyes were set on the horrible victims of Michael. The Mangled Angels that looked like the worst demon.
Worser than any of the demon he saw in hell. Probably even worser than Rue.
At some point they were standing in front of an empty cell that was stained with golden blood and your aura.
Beside the cell there was none other than Leonardo looking right at the group.
He was already expecting them.
“Long time no see, Lucifer.”
….
You walked with your bare foot on the golden floor, beside you stood Michael, Azrael, and Gabriel.
They were guarding you up the stairs. Watching you like hawks do with their prey with those glowing dangerous eyes.
You’re going to meet him, the famous God almost everyone is worshipping.
The one you served such a long time.
The one who let you down so easily.
The God that you were sure despites you with his very being.
Maybe it was wrong to think that way. But you couldn't shake off the feeling that something will happen.
Your hands were still chained up, but your feet were walking almost on Autopilot.
You wanted to stay in that cell and rot in there in peace, rather than facing someone who let you down easily.
“Y/n?” Your eyes widen at that voice, a warm feeling spread around your chest, and you felt like you wanted to cry. Nothing is more calming than a mother’s voice to its child.
And yet you didn’t look up nor give her nay response that you’ve heard her. After all you didn’t forgive her how she just let you fall and that it was her idea in the first place.
Michael told you everything.
Even though he can’t be trusted you couldn’t help but believe him. The bittersweet taste that allures you into his darkness was tempting.
You were tempted to fall into his madness. But the memories you and Lucifer shared were the only thing that destroyed you and kept you sane.
Gabriel glared at Sera, “why is she here? She isn’t supposed to be here.” He ushered towards Azrael who just shrugged him off.
Your hand clenched hard. You don’t want to see her. Not when she looks at you with these pitiful eyes, even though it is her fault all alone.
“What have you done to my daughter?” Sera looked in horror at the bruises on your wrist and body. The bruises around your wrist were almost deep purple, black almost.
The guilt in Sera was indescribable. It was eating her alive in these last few Months.
It was all her fault; it was a simple punishment that ended in torture.
“Not much.” Michael answered giving Sera a white rose. “Father wants to see you too.”
You wanted to disappear. The heavy load on your shoulder was too much to handle.
The hurt of the betrayal from Lucifer was too recent to forget and that your mother showed up is your worst luck.
The pain in your chest spread when you looked finally at you Mother. Feathers all scattered, it seemed she haven’t preened them in a while.
You miss your wings.
The walk ended in a huge sky land and pastel clouds were surrounding the area, the light was all centered in one direction where you could see a silhouette.
A soft tune played. A tune Lucifer used to hum to you when you dozed off on his lap.
The ghost feelings of his clawed fingers massaging your scalp, not hurting you in the process.
Unwilling tears fell from your eye socket. As much as you wanted to hide your weakened state, you couldn't.
After all that has happened you miss him.
You missed the Hotel, you missed hell. You missed the time with your friends Husk and Angel.
The soft tune that hummed in the area comforted you in a weird way and a soft way.
A voice called you into the light.
Don’t go into the light.
Your mind was screaming at you to run.
Danger.
Michael gestures for you to step forward. You wanted to move, but your feet don’t move. The anxiety was filling your lungs making it even harder to breath and stopped every body movement.
You forced your feet with all your strength just to stand in the light that was a few meters away from you.
“My, My. After all those months and years, I finally can speak to you in person.” You’ve never heard his voice before, but you just know its his.
His Voice echoed through the wind and in your body through Skull and bones.
The sound of Gods heels meeting the quartz ground was in an even rhythm. As the steps grew closer and closer you found yourself in a panic like state.
What will he do with you? Is he going to kill you or make you his puppet?
A warm but somehow cold finger pushed your chin up and you saw a tall figure with four eyes surrounding its silhouette.
He has almost the same hat as Lucifer and the same shit eating grin.
“Poor Child.”
Your eyes twitched; you don’t need any pity from anyone. Not from Leonardo. Not even from God himself.
“I don’t need any of your sympathy.” He only chuckled at your comeback, It interested him indeed.
Even after such a heartbreak you still fought back. “I was almost worried that my son may corrupted you. Michael is a lot to deal with, I must admit.” God lets go of your chin and you almost fell on your knees.
The sudden weakness surprised you. God snapped with his fingers and the chains broken loose.
“But I don’t appreciate this type of violence towards my daughter in law. Lucifer wouldn’t be happy to see you in this state darling. So, let’s get you patched up, hm?” This is off.
Why is he so nice?
Doesn’t he hate Lucifer?
Doesn’t he hate you?
God laughed at your cute little misunderstanding. “Oh, my dear I hate nobody. Not even towards Lucifer. I’m just disappointed that this all came so far. You got treated the wrong way because of my recklessly. That’s not how I planned you two to meet.” He sighs, “So answer me one question.” He turned towards you and lifted you up.
The bruises on your body slowly disappeared into your skin. And the pain faded with it.
“What do you desire?”
“How do you know we were coming Leonardo?” Lucifer looked with his scarlet eyes into Leonardo’s golden ones.
“Who wouldn’t save their soulmate. I would, even if it means that I’ll get cast away from heaven. I knew you’d come” Leonardo took few steps forward, but Lucifer stayed on his grounds.
“Tell me Lucifer, what would you do for her?” Lucifer growled.
He’d do anything for you.
He wants your back; he needs your back.
Leonardo lunged at Lucifer with his spear landing a cut above his eyebrow.
“Fuck.” Lucifer cursed as he tried to find a place for the others to hide.
There's no escape.
“Charlie! Find Y/n while I fight him off!”
You wanted so much and as soon as these words left none other than God, you found yourself empty headed. “What I desire?” God hummed and looked down at his cane. “Is it money? Or is it something that hides deep inside you dear. I’ll give it to you but choose wise.” Well, that isn’t helping.
God laughed at your thoughts, sometimes you forget that he could read your thoughts easily. “Let me help you dear.” God stepped forward and folded his hands on your eyes.
A low glow made you almost slum into a deep sleep.
But before you could fall into this feeling a loud crash followed and God sighed in frustration. Having children is a bliss but also a stick in the ass.
Lucifer and Leonardo fought in the air and crashed together in front of Michael who seemed to be amused by the fight.
“Y/n!” Charlie shouted your name and you turned towards her. “Charlie?!” A happy smile spread on your lips. A little shine of hope burst your heart. “Charlie!”
You ran towards her and threw your arms around her, and Charlie happily hugged you back. “I’m so glad you’re okay!” She said as she squeezed you tightly. “We all were so worried about you!” Angel hugged you from behind, “yeah, the short king almost lost his mind!” you giggled at Angels nickname for Lucifer.
You were so drowned in your own misery that you’ve forgotten how much you love the others. You always were head stuck on Lucifer that you forgot your drink buddies.
You break the hug and swipe the tears that escaped your attempt to hid them.
You watched as Lucifer fought his three brothers. Azrael swung his scythe around his waist to get a better hit on him. The gold blood splattered on the quartz floor, and you hissed at the injured Lucifer who had a huge gash on his chest.
“I wish I had daughters than sons…” God sighed as he looked at the mess they caused. Gods smile never left his face though.
Leonardo kicked Azrael away with the end of his spear making him land with full force on the quartz floor, ouch. Azrael laid unmoving there and groaned at the back pain. “I’m out.” He said before collapsing on the floor.
“Why did Leonardo defend dad?” Charlie asked pointing towards Leonardo who stood before Lucifer. “He was always on his side. He just wanted to check if he’s willing to die for Y/n.” God answered and held Azrael under his arm.
“Now let me take care of this mess.” God let Azrael go and he fell on his stomach. “Really?!” Azrael huffed in anger.
God levitates down to his sons and they immediate stopped. “As much as I like the reunion, you’re destroying the peace me and Lucifers mate had.” This hurt Michael deep. No not again.
“Really father? You’re defending Lucifer and his soulmate?” Michael gritted his teeth as anger build up in him. After all he has done for his father Lucifer always gets preferred.
But not with him.
Michael took the opportunity and flew towards you. You stepped in front of your friends protectively, no one will hurt them.
Just by your dead body.
His sword went smoothly through your ribcage right between your heart. Charlie screamed and shouted your name as the sword was in her view.
The sword went right through you.
Quite a disturbing beautiful sight. A fallen Seraphim protecting sinners as she gets killed by an Arch Angel.
Lucifer looked in horror and his heart felt like tearing apart.
He wanted to hold you close but his wings felt like bricks on his back. Every time he tried to fly up to you, he fell lower and lower. And when Michael’s laugh hollowed in Lucifers ears he started to feel immense Anger and rage.
More than he did last time he fought Michael.
A monstress growl escaped his sharpened teeth as the fire between his horns grew bigger and more violent. Lucifer felt no empathy as he smashed Michael’s skull to pieces.
It was the least he could do for you. You were hurt, in despair and he couldn’t help you through it.
And now Michael took again what was most precious to him.
You.
You slumped on to the ground as Michael hold on you stopped and Husk was quick to hold you in his arms.
“Don’t die on me kiddo.” Husk voice broke, the sadness couldn’t hide the truth.
You’ll die. And nothing can change it.
Husk pressed plunged the sword out of your chest and replaced it with his hands.
His power as an overlord was gone, but Lucifer could heal the damage, right?
The hard breathing broke his heart as he watches you taking his hands softly. “Husky. Promise me-“ you coughed, and blood splattered onto his fur, but Husk didn’t cared.
“Stop talking, you’ll only use your left power.” Husk pressed deeper onto the wound, but the blood still gushed out at the tiniest hole. You shook your head softly, you’ll die.
This is your dead end.
A tear escaped with a few whines, “Promise me to take care of them. Please husk.” Tears met your forehead as you said those words to him.
Husk cries.
He actually cries.
“Don’t say that. You’ll live!” You squeezed his hand as he screamed, one last time and muttered a soft I love you to them all besides Lucifer.
He wasn’t here with you as your life slowly crept away from your body.
The dull vessel of your soul just dropped into Husks arms and Husk hugged you close.
Charlie was a mess. Her crying filled the battlefield and Angel dust was having a complete meltdown.
Lucifer stopped his Tantrum as he heard Charlies desperate and hurt cries. His body reacted on its own fast and flew towards her and you.
He fell couple times but tried neither less to get to you two.
Lucifer landed painful on the harsh surface, but he didn’t care.
He crawled up to your corpse and took it away from Husk as Lucifer hugged you close to him.
Your usually warm body was now cold, and those live filled eyes were dull and soulless like the void that crept back to him. Before his mind could even collect words, he apologized to you in a mantra.
He was sorry.
He wasn’t there when Michael did that to you and Lucifer wasn’t there when you shifted to the dead.
Forgive him.
“Forgive me Apple Pie.”
The soft tune played into your mind, painting a picture in it. Flashbacks of your life appeared till you stand in that familiar space with the table and mist. Across the table sat Lucifer but in a light blue and golden appearance.
“Lucifer?” You asked out, your hand twitched. You wanted to feel the golden hair one last time.
But he was with Lilith, not with you. The bitter truth you avoided, and it hurts you much deeper every time you remembered it.
Please stop.
”Y/n?” The way he called out your name and the soften voice that allures you back into the warmth.
Hot tears burned their way down to the cold stone table.
What is he doing here? You’re dead right?
Yes, you miss him very dearly but the betrayal was to recent to just forget it.
“Just wait for me.”
You looked at Lucifer, cold. A sting on Lucifers heart but it wasn’t really him. It’s an Image from you and God. And your desire to see him again.
To hear him at least out, maybe it was a misunderstanding. Maybe Azrael showed you just mere lies.
“Even though I am not the Lucifer you desire,” he took your hand softly into his pearly white one, “I can tell that your Lucifer loves you dearly and wouldn’t do that to you.” He smiled up to you and stroked the hot tears from your face.
“But I am dead Luci, and you- He wasn’t even there with me.” And the fake Lucifer gave your hand a quick squeeze.
“I’m sure he wanted to. Still a fucking idiot but he was fighting Michael off of you, right? That’s a start.” He chuckled and you huffed.
The doubts and insecurities were another trap you chose to fall in. Maybe he wanted you dead so he can have Lilith.
“But Lilith is-“ He interrupted you with a soft squeeze on your hand and cheek, “Don’t continue that. Yes, he loved Lilith. But he loves you more. Even though I am just a copy of Lucifer from yours and Gods memories. I love you more than anything. Listen to him not to his bitter twin. Hear it from him and if you’re correct you can be mad all you want.” He let you go and gave you a last smile.
What does he mean?
You’re dead, no refund.
Gone.
“Our time Is up. Choose wise apple pie.” The world around you fade away, “What is your true desire?” you stretched your hands out for Lucifer.
you want to go back to him.
“I want to go back to him. Please.”
The soft tune hummed in your head as light surrounded you. As the light slowly creeped away you felt tears on your neck.
Your eyes flutter open, and you saw Lucifer face buried into your neck. He hugged you tightly, the thought of dying again because of Lucifer hard grip wasn’t one you were burning for.
“Lucifer?” You called out his name and he quickly retreated from his favorite place, and he watched perplexed at you.
“Y/n?” He called out, “Is that really you?” He sounds so broken. You nodded and answered with a short yes. Lucifer held your hand in his left hand and pressed you onto his lips so soft and hard.
His lips danced around your as sparks flew across your body making you feel butterflies all over your stomach. He kissed like it was his last meal. After seconds of intimate making out, he broke the kiss.
“Don’t leave me again.”

CHARLIE AND VIVA
The princess of hell and her trusty knight are on a mission to save sinners souls!
Doodles and rambles under the cut, and I mean like walls of text
be aware I make shit up a lot, I was very high on drugs and gay sex
Welcome to the show I’ve made in my head, ok where to begin? I guess with how boring I find Charlie nd vaggie in the show proper, I like them, they just don’t have any real spice to them. Charlie is a just a girl, she has no real friends and just surrounds herself with others problems. Check out the beginning of episode four, husk just says that out loud, we saw it once with angel dust and then they totally drop it for the rest of the show. I wanted to see Charlie fail and get back up again, but we don’t see that! Idk maybe I want more out of the text but I hated to see Charlie act like a baby, not a young woman, I makes me so mad that she isn’t really friends with anyone, no fun dynamics, Charlie kinda just looks at her guests and ‘employees’ but she never sees them. I mean like give me some bff moments with Charlie, she has no friends, she a loser baby!
Vaggie is the best better at making friends, and enemies honestly she is the second protagonist. I hated her until I saw her fuck ass bob. I fell in love
Ok so I made a prequel hazbin design that I just fell in love with, here she is. Ok so girls is bugs, vaggie is a moth and lute is a mantis, they grew up together in heaven. Being raised to be an exorcist was pretty sweet except for the military indoctrination!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wonderful lute convo here
So vaggie is now in hell and is saved by Charlie, who believes that vag is a sinner. Eventually they get together romantically and start working on the happy hotel project, then they get angle dust as a guest. You know the deal, but how did vag get with Charlie? Who asked who out? I love how loyal vaggie is to Charlie but WHY is she so loyal? I think because Charlie wanted to ask about vaggies life and she took the opportunity to become a new person !
Tumblr media
I think having char be the ray of sunshine in such a violent place attracts the lost and broken to her is cool. Vaggie tells ridiculous lies about her human life like being ran over by a horse. And being a pirate captain. Vaggies colors go from green to purple, aesthetic goes from Joan of arc lesbian to a captain Ching Shih lesbian yknow what I mean?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Charlie is taken in with this eccentric woman and befriends her. And also when Charlie and vaggie start to get closer char gifts her the red ribbon that vaggie wears all the time. The pink red is Charlies color and it sticks to all of her friends! Like when angel and Charlie get really close she gifts him the hot pink gloves and he wears them for the duration of the show. (I’ll write about that in another post lol)
MY CHARLIE loves to feed people food she’s made, so she just keeps feeding vaggie and the she starts to beef up, buff 5’4 vaggie lets gooooo. They cook food together and help sinners together. I forgot to mention that Charlie in my perfect world does actual charity work, she works down at the soup kitchen and cleans up the parks and gives people work, Charlie is just constantly busy and never gives herself a day off. Vaggie does her best to help while constantly working on her prodigious.
These girls also work at the local theater! They do a lot of dress up! And i really liked the idea that Charlie is astanged from her dad and is no contact with him. So she isn’t some princess that’s throwing money at the poor. She builds her own motel for the happy hotel project so that when it is destroyed they can build the hotel proper and have an actual emotional impact.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A little comic I sketched of out, Charlie was calling her dad for help with the hotel but he completely shuts her down and calls her idea dumb, I liked when Lucifer was a shitty dad that called Charlie a failure, instead of some sad loser who forgets to call his daughter, like I have a shitty dad and he tore down lots of my ideas and then is confused when I don’t talk to him.
Like idk how there are so many characters with daddy issues but they all are poorly written…
What else is there? Ermmm, I suppose I like Charlie as a demon that looks the most human out of the cast, like sure she has clown makeup as skin but giving her round ears and a demon tail looks super cute. And in the first few episodes Charlie hides her tail and uses it as a belt, and as a show of faith she reveals her tail to the hazbin gang!

Ok one last Nightbringer post before bed-
I find Mammon really interesting in Nightbringer. For example, his relationship with his brothers is very different. Sure, they don't exactly respect him as much as they Lucifer, but thet still respect him wayyyyy more than they do than at the start of the original game. Like, in the start of the original game all the characters went on about how useless Mammon is.
Which is why it's kinda tragic how the brothers started to view Mammon as they spent more time in the Devildom.
Mammon has this weird sort of corruption arc throughout the entire series. When he was angle he was still pretty respected, even if Michael didn't pay much attention to him, his brothers, judging by their treatment of him in Nightbringer, sort of respected him.
But Mammon's self confidence in Nightbringer is at an all time low. *He* thinks that he's useless, *he* thinks that he's worthless.
He followed Lucifer and fell to be given a purpose, and he sort of found one in the Devildom.
Mammon's greed became his purpose. He lived to make money, to gamble, and because of that purpose he was willing to do increasingly scummy and pathetic things.
In Nightbringer Mammon says that making a pact is a big deal, and he would have to put a lot of thought into forming a pact with someone. In Obey Me Mammon formed a pact with you to satisfy his greed.
Mammon got a purpose, but it was at the cost of his respect. As I said, a corporation arc.

4 housemen of one piece, I'm adding things.
The 7 deadly sins first-
Lust, boa Hancock. I'm not explaining this.
Gluttony, jewelry bonny. She's literally called big eater bonny, it wasn't that hard of a choice. She's a less cannibally luffy.
Greed, Doflamingo.
Sloth, Kizaru. You cannot convince me he doesn't just sit around high all day.
Wrath, Sabo. He's a violent fuck who's literally trying to overthrow the world government that's pretty wrathful.
Envy, Buggy. He was the less successful and liked of Roger's two apprentices.
Pride, Shanks cause why not.
Now, what your role is doesn't decided your allies or your enemies.
Imu is Satan, Rocks d. Xebec was Lucifer.
Dragon, Garp and Sengoku are all arc angles.

Queso I might not be able to WATCH Hazbin Hotel however there's plenty enough information coming out that I can do this: fix the pacing problem. This issue also plauges Helluva Boss, though I feel to a lesser extent.
First things first. The extermination getting pushed up either needed to happen at the end of the first season or we didn't have the reveal of who killed the angle happening... What? The very next episode? Alastor is the only mystery really stringing us along and carrying weight as far as I can tell. Hold onto the murser mystery to let it stew AND for something I'll explain a tad later.
Episode 2? Uhm I honestly don't know enough about episode 2 or 3 however I feel seeing the other overlords could work to help world build, just cut the Murderer of the Exterminator reveal, and add in a "filler" episode of Charlie working with Angle Dust, establish Vaggie's arc, not whatever shallow thing is going on with her and DON'T resolve it in that same episode. (Fizz forgiving Blitz is forgivable given Fizz's validation needs, but hand waving the end of season 1 is not working for me even if I enjoy Stolitz) AND have Alastor having a conversation with Charlie because somebody pointed out something interesting about Alastor and Charlie's relationship relating to episode 5.
Episode 4 is perfect in all it's dark glory. Would love for Charlie to show her daddy issues that Alastor tells him about and it blows up in her face again before Husk gets involved. Oh and after the apology acceptance cut to Alastor going "HmmmmmMMMMMM" because I want this show to reflect some words in the next episode.
Episode 5? No instant gratification of Charlie and Lucifer repairing their relationship. I would like to see the START OF IT not an instant fix. And maybe have bubbly loving dad-man do a sort of Hot-Then-Cold over the hotel to give more weight to Charlie feeling like he doesn't care and then Alastor. Maybe before Lucifer even shows up, Alastor isn't totally convinced of this idea working however a "Give the dog a head pat" comment of praise to Charlie on her starting to make progress with Angel. And Charlie's daddy issues kicking in and defending Alastor would feel more warranted. Also when he's attacking the invaders, let him AGAIN let Charlie's name fall from his lips to not completely invalid her belief that he has faith in her idea.
Episode 6. Bitch we need to pump the breaks. No jumping to the realization Heaven's rules are bullshit. Let VAGGIE reveal herself not Adam. I like this trial, but I like it being set up as Sera saying "It's too soon to call him redeemed" which is DO MUCH MORE INTERESTING than jumping the gun on the rules. It allows things to get interesting in the next two episodes.
I'll revisit this ideas thing once the rest of season 1 is out and I'm able to watch reviews and the like, but From this jumping off point, I like the ideas of episode 6 ending with Adam reveling to the council or whatever it is that an angle was found dead in hell. That would make it easy to make lesser angels and the.... Oh kami they're called "winners".... i sense lottry shenanigans and I would cry of laughter omg. Anyhow, revealing the dead angel could be the power move Adam makes tp put Charlie down.
Then episode 7 could be Charlie having to comfort Angle, maybe lying a tiny bit like "They're considering it, but you still have some more work to do" because no addict has for sure reached recovery in that short of time and can be trusted on their own. (My own parents were once addicts and thank god the were able to recover. My birth gave them the strength to quit and even then they both admitted they relapses once for a little bit while I was still very very little and they did not go back full force. They didn't want to screw me up and were able to correct themselves before it was too late. They never did none of the stuff that fucked them ever again.) But anyway. It could give Angel some more hope for himself, Val could be more of a monster because I feel Angel's recovery is life or death for him. And Alastor could be even more on Charlie's side to add to that drama
Episode 8 could go with way on Angle. Tragic or Uplifting, it's gonna be impactful and would set up season 2 for more conflict one way or another. Dealers choice honestly, but I know the heaven/hell conflict would escalate.

[IMAGE DESC: Lucifer's back. He has taken off his shirt to inspect his body for any differences. Nothing untoward is visible. His hair is tied in a very long ponytail that rests over his shoulder.
The black lines that come from his eyes seem to continue down his body, forming an intricate, angular design reminiscent of the Nazca lines that evokes the image of his spectral, clawed wings. The design covers his entire back.
There's an additional element at the top of his back, near the base of his neck. Noticeably detached from the rest of his markings. Also black, but in a much different visual style, with more curves and narrower angles.
The element is an X with a circle in the middle, the lines of the X intersecting with an arc on either side.]
NOBODY WOULD EVER HAVE NOTICED THIS, BUT I SWEAR THIS LOOKS DIFFERENT TOO...

I am utterly captivated by how Sandalphon went again Lucifer's wishes to get his attention, even though deep down he was fine with complying and in the present loves and adores the skies almost as much as Lucifer did, while Belial only did what he thought Lucilius would approve of to get his attention, but fundamentally disagrees with his plans. There's been hints that he quite enjoys the skies, but if Lucilius wants them gone, he'll happily tear them down
It's just so good, the foils are so amazing on so many levels, it's still hard to believe that Belial was born from a way to overcome writer's block. These boys turned out so nuanced
YOU'RE SO RIGHT.
I'm fascinated by Sandalphon and Belial's arc because in many way they mirror each other - either in the way they're similar (helpless devotion to their creators, feeling burdened by their purpose (or lack of), this type of things) or in the way they're different but in a way that foil each other (everything you just said).
on an analytic standpoint i think they really work in pair to analyse.
And this angle you took is perfect because yes!! yesss!!!
it's honestly so good it IS shocking Belial came from a writer block. Apparently they just needed to go ham with Themes to get better.

supernatural s13e7 war of the worlds (w. brad buckner, eugenie ross-leming)
au!michael putting lucifer in an iron maiden-ish thing ok, why not. in front of a big jesus on a cross. is this the michael that rides up on dean's junk? i know nothing about that plotline other than it exists
CASTIEL Dean, you can't accompany me. My contact is already anxious about meeting and won't speak in the presence of a stranger. DEAN So introduce me. Then I'm not a stranger. I'll bring a six-pack. CASTIEL Dean, I swore I would protect this boy. Let me do this. DEAN Don't do anything stupid.
don't be rude, dean. but also, cas doesn't have the best track record. but tentatively seems like they're making him less prone to really bad decisions?
Tumblr media
DEAN I guess we're stuck in idle. SAM So… What do we do? Just – just sit around here and wait? DEAN Well, we could work a case.
dunno why this strikes me as so like. unnecessarily heavy handed? oh no we can't do anything about the major plot arc, whatever will we do. i know, let's work a case to pass the time. i think this is a sign that i'm losing patience with the show :p there's only so many ways you can rearrange the parts before you start repeating things/the parts become very visible
LUCIFER Hey, you try interdimensional travel sometime, pal. Definitely no frills. And just to be clear, I never claimed to be God. Or a god, okay? Where I come from, God is a paradox. He's everywhere, in your mind. In reality, he's nowhere. He left. I, on the other hand, am the real deal. I am everything humanity thinks I am and worse. That's who you're dealing with, pal. But, hey, congratulations to you for being king of the hill of this dead rock.
nice little speech where he's not over completely over the top. i like him over the top, but it's nice to see this too.
was curious what osric was gonna be doing in this episode. handy i guess having this au, can bring in whoever. and he gets to play a very different kevin who gets to make a nexus
Tumblr media
lucifer too, has to get back to the nexus. and back on earth without powers so we can have our quirky music comedy moment
eyes glazing over with this mr ketchup in a beard and rowena thing. two supposed to be dead people. evil twin but for real omglol. bleh
Tumblr media
started laughing out loud at this shot, wtf is going on. it's so odd it looks like they pasted two shots together so they could both artificially be in focus together. gives me... tarantino???? vibes?? something. it's familiar. anyway. directed by richard speight jr apparently, gettin creative 🤪
Tumblr media
this is so strange, man. it feels like it's gotta be a reference because it's so out of left field
Tumblr media
sam where are you looking (ok i cranked up my brightness and i see he's looking at him now, but the way his head is angled and the shadow on his eyes makes it look like he's looking offcenter). why are y'all sitting like this. wtf.
Tumblr media
just sayin. script directions definitely more what i'd expect
and offbrand mr ketchup looks like matthew rhys a little bit with the fluffy hair and beard like he's in a disguise in the americans
DUMAH Castiel, the angels… Our numbers were greatly diminished after the fall. No one's made new angels since the dawn of creation. We're going extinct. You would need a powerful force to make more of us. CASTIEL You mean Jack. Even if he had that power, what makes you think he'd cooperate? DUMAH He may not have a choice. CASTIEL So you're planning to enslave him for some kind of experiment?
i did not have trying to enslave jack as an angelic broodmare on my bingo card.
Tumblr media
i like the new fit, lucifer. find it kind of weird though how he has now changed outfits a couple times past the original one and yet he still keeps the vessel's wedding ring on
LUCIFER Yeah, I'm clearly not myself. But, oh, cowboy, I'm not that weak. And you and I need to talk. CASTIEL I have no interest in talking to you. And if this is about your son– LUCIFER Okay, I get it, I get it. Custody of my son is a non-starter. But if you can please just shelve the eternal enemies thing for a second, we have a situation. And by “we,” I mean everything alive. We're sorta… all gonna die.
feels like sliding lucifer into a crowley-like role
Tumblr media
i don't hate it. i'd rather have crowley be crowley and lucifer be lucifer though. it was a good scene, they play well off each other and they're letting cas be snarky and reasonable this week
SAM You get a name? DEAN Nope. But... from his description? Evil Colonel Sanders. Asmodeus.
(wiki)
Colonel Sanders was an Southern American business man, famous for creating Kentucky Fried Chicken. The name "Evil Colonel Sanders" was attributed to Asmodeus by the Supernatural fandom soon after his debut, due to his southern drawl and white suit.
well it's cute when i find out i was also picking up what they were putting down same as everyone else (my desc: the white suit and the thick accent and the speechifying, it’s giving confederate general slash colonel sanders vibes. the foghorn leghorn knives out treatment)
oh no surprise it is namebrand mr ketchup after all 🙄
KETCH She was captured by the British Men of Letters some years back. I discovered she'd sewn a powerful charm into her body that could bring her back should she be killed. I struck a deal wherein she did the same for me in return for allowing her to escape.
sure why not
Tumblr media
dun dun dun mr ketchup is working for general sanders. whatever, man.

Ghosts, Growth, And the God Bullet Wound: A Season 15 Retrospective
I created my blog all the way back in October 2019 for the sole purpose of talking about season fifteen and where it was going, and two and a half years on I have some thoughts about what we actually ended up getting. This isn’t going to be in any particular order and just some scattered thoughts of the direction that season ended up taking
The Equalizer
Let’s start with one of the most disappointing plot drops of the season: the equalizer and the god bullet wound.
Supernatural has a tendency to try to escalate the stakes of every season by introducing an insanely powerful new tool, villain, or element into the upcoming season, and for s15, it brought about the equalizer during 14x20. But this time, with the context of Chuck’s return, the equalizer had a more pressing impact: it had created a connection between Sam and God after Sam shot him in the shoulder with it.
The possibilities of this move were literally endless. Firstly, there was the angle of ending the season with the doomed, demon connected vessel of Lucifer having a literal connection to God, which would have been a great bookend and shoutout to the earlier seasons. On a similar note, this could have (and came close to) bringing back Sam’s psychic powers, leading to closure on one of the most interesting plot lines of the earlier seasons. This also could’ve been used in a big way to end the show; a literal Chekhov’s gun that would return as the tool to conclude the show. For a while I truly believed the show would end with Dean shooting a God-connected Sam, killing them both but finally getting rid of God and saving the world in return.
Obviously, none of that happened. Instead, the equalizer was promptly removed from the story less than halfway through, and with it Sam’s God connection was sealed off. I was thoroughly disappointed with how this turned out because it started so promisingly and then fizzled out.
What I would have done: had the equalizer wound slowly leak God’s power to Sam, allowing him to be dethroned and keeping the wound relevant
The Return of the Ghosts
This was another element introduced in 14x20 Moriah that ended much too early. Ending the fourteenth season by bringing back the ghost of everything they’ve ever hunted (including the woman in white from the pilot episode) was a really interesting move and could’ve been a wonderful opportunity to revisit some things. Ultimately, the role of and atmosphere surrounding the ghosts have changed so drastically since the show started that seeing them again in later seasons context could’ve been really interesting! This could’ve functioned both as a shoutout to where the show began and an acknowledgement to how much it has grown.
Instead, we got a three episode arc dealing with these releases, and ultimately did not deal with them with any complexity or understanding. I don’t necessarily have an issue with the storyline ending quickly (although I would’ve preferred it to stick around longer) if the ending would’ve made sense. But this concept was not used to the fullest extent it could’ve been, and honestly these ghosts could’ve been replaced with any random ghost that they had never encountered before. Even the ally ghosts (Kevin mostly) were not given a proper resolution. As with the Equalizer, this was a great idea that was summarily ignored.
What I would have done: had the released ghosts and monsters remain an issue throughout the season. Every monster of the week would be one of their old hunts, and each episode would demonstrate how much they’ve changed and put some things into question for them. Bonus points of Sam’s burgeoning god powers make an appearance.
Chuck as Author
I was so excited for Chuck’s role in the show after the events of 14x20 Moriah, and even more so during the first few episodes of season 15. The setup here was this meta exploration of Chuck-as-God, indicating that the show had run on for so long because Chuck got obsessed with continuing the story. Therefore, the writer is the ultimate villain of Supernatural, which in my opinion was just a brilliant move. So this gave us a bit of a complicated setup, because they now have to figure out how to defeat literal God without dying and also without destroying the world as a result.
There was a bit more established here than with the previous plot points, and there were some interesting moments regarding the Chuck-as-author scenario across the season (destroying the alternate universes, etc). However, I feel like the ultimate conclusion did fall a little flat, and the setup of the Winchesters dealing with the psychological fallout that was established earlier in the season didn’t really come through. I wish they had used the dropped plot lines to really round out this storyline and really make it stand out in the season and the show as a whole.
What I would have done: focused more on God slowly losing his abilities and losing his omnipotence, freaking out about it, and ultimately losing his title entirely (basically same as canon but more focused).
Castiel
Now, Cas. Cas is in an interesting position by the time we get to the end of season 14: at odds with the Winchesters in defense of Jack. The start of season 15 continues this trend, and has Dean specifically decide not to forgive Cas. This puts him in a season long journey of reconciliation, acceptance, and then processing his love for Dean before exiting the narrative.
I don’t have an issue with this storyline in theory, but in practice it’s a little….underdone. The forgiveness angle seemed a little one sided from Dean’s perspective (Cas’ perspective is not elaborated on nor is it discussed in any real depth). Further, his relationship with Jack (the source of his tension with Dean) is expounded upon but not expanded until the last possible minute (ruling Heaven alongside him). His 15x18 confession would be more effective if they explicitly pointed to this coming to fruition, or approached it in a way that would not be hand wavey to general audiences (which it was). So I guess my criticism here is more was needed for Cas, especially for this final season.
What I would have done: Kept Cas’ anger in the forefront, and had him genuinely get mad/yell at the Winchesters. I also would have more clearly signposted Cas’ feelings for Dean (what was done is canon was not sufficient for general audiences. You have to make that super clear for this to work)
Dean
Dean is the main lens with which we view this show, and this in itself is a bit of an issue. The show has had some trouble in the past with sitting back and letting him make mistakes, admit he made mistakes, and heal from said mistakes. Going into season 15, he had just held back from shooting Jack, and started the season mourning his mother and being furious at Cas as a result. What I thought was then going to be a in depth look at his emotional state (caused by Chuck’s betrayal and Dean’s subsequent existential crisis) just…fizzled out. Instead, the latter half of the season saw no emotional development or change for Dean after forgiving Cas. We had two significant moments in the latter half that could have gone somewhere: 1. Amara’s revelation about Mary and 2. His behavior in 15x17 Unity. I liked both of these directions but was frustrated by the fact that they just kinda…happen and then are never mentioned again. There was a lot we could’ve done with Dean going in (especially regarding mourning Mary and the previous two plot points I mentioned) but unfortunately the show doesn’t give him space to grow like that.
What I would have done: Had some sort of past consequence catch up, like Amy’s son from season 7 returning, and drive home some revelation about himself that would lead to changed behavior. This change would also be spurred by Mary’s death + Amara’s revelation and also 15x17 Unity. After this he would make a significant decision that would have huge ramifications for the end of the show.
Sam
Sam’s goals and motivations have been tamped down on in later seasons, and season 15 would’ve been a great time to spotlight them going into the show’s conclusion. Much of the season 15 setup regarding Sam referenced his early season roles: a vessel for power and trouble, and the site for supernatural influence. This could’ve been an interesting opportunity to lean back on that role, but also subvert it: have Sam’s body remain the site of supernatural influence but have him finally start to take some of the control back. Having it be God’s power would certainly have been a way to highlight this dichotomy, and it could’ve been an opportunity to have him address the autonomy issues he’s been having for years. Ultimately, the God power storyline ended much too soon, and Sam remained relatively voiceless across the season. We concluded the story with him on his own, giving up a life of hunting and dying of natural causes. While I’ll get to the finale later, it would’ve made it sense if we’d seen more of Sam and this ending signposted on earlier in the season
What I would have done: I would’ve kept the god bullet wound d a big storyline for Sam, and had his powers return as a consequence. He then would’ve had to directly deal with the feeling did monsterhood that he’s had from the first season
Amara and Billie
These are two characters whose stories were completely co-opted by the leads, which was a shame because both had a lot of promise. With Billie, we were given the set up of seeing her with Jack in the Empty, clearly ready to upend the system that God existed in so that she could restore order to the universe. With Amara, we were given a recontextualized approach to her due to the new revelations of what God was actually like, highlighting further that she was badly treated by her family. Therefore, both characters were poised to return to correct a few wrongs done to them and in the process create a new relationship with the protagonists.
None of this happened. Instead, Billie was given a villain arc across the season, which wouldn’t have been as much of an issue if it wasn’t so out of character for her. She was established to be someone who sought order for the universe, and her detour into power seeking felt out of nowhere and out of character. She was mostly used to provide Cas’ big moment in 15x18, which didn’t feel like a good conclusion to her character or motivations at all. With Amara, we had the baffling decision of Dean to manipulate her in order to take down God, have that manipulation fail, and then have God absorb her (which didn’t even play that big a role in the plot). She left the story unavenged and used, and didn’t play a role that would’ve given her more agency and acknowledged the events of season 11.
What I would have done: With Billie, I would’ve had her ally with the Winchester & co as part of a big alliance of past and present characters to take on the one guy they all want to take down: God. I would’ve had her continue to play the role of Death and establish order in the universe once again. With Amara, I would’ve had her play a larger role in trapping god (maybe eventually taking on his role via bullet wound leeching from Sam) and then moving on with her life! Just getting the hell out of there
Heaven and the Angels
We left Heaven in dire straits at the end of season 14. Angels were all but extinct and Heaven barely populated. On the other side, we had every archangel dead and thus a huge power vacuum was present in Heaven. With God going rogue at the end of season 14, the role of Heaven and the angels was this called into question: would they side with God? Against him? How would they increase the angel population?
This plotline was pretty much straight up ignored. All we got was a throwaway reference in the finale of the ways Jack changed the way Heaven worked. We saw Michael and Lucifer again, and both were killed pretty quick. Otherwise, we saw absolutely nothing.
What I would have done: At least acknowledged what was going on in Heaven, and set up the issues so that Jack’s solution would have been signposted earlier. I probably wouldn’t have brought back any archangels either, or if I did I would’ve infused more complexity into the daddy issues they have over God.
The Ending
Now. The finale.
I’ve been fairly critical of season 15 across this post, so logically this should mean I’m also critical of the finale, correct? Well…yes. And no.
For me, it depends on perspective. Was the finale disappointing from the perspective of the season 15 I was expecting to be set up at the end of season 14? Yeah. Was this finale hugely underwhelming when compared to what season 15 could have been? Also yeah. The epic story of free will and power and God and family that season 15 could have been didn’t come to pass, and the finale did not reflect that sense of scale. Sure, there were things that did come to pass (major character death, a change in lifestyle, etc) but they weren’t in context of what came before them.
However. The season 15 I wanted is not the season 15 that we got. And the finale is, in my opinion, a good to great episode based on the season 15 that we got. Sure, there are issues. Sure, we could’ve seen more of what happened to Cas and Jack as well as their other allies. Sure, Sam’s ultimate fate could’ve been left more ambiguous. But, with the season 15 that had been established since around episode 12, it was the logical conclusion we reached. In practice, nothing particularly unexpected or exciting happened, with even the character deaths feeling fairly low key. I think this fit with what the season was aiming for and where it was going. In that context, I did like the finale for the most part.

more thinking aloud, nascent observations on Dean in Hell as connected to the Mark arc.
Dean’s breaking in Hell & breaking the first seal could be summarized as, Alastair put a weapon in Dean’s hand and Dean committed violence. How Alastair’s talks about it in 4x16: “And finally you said, "Sign me up." Oh, the first time you picked up my razor, the first time you sliced into that weeping bitch...”
Magnus puts the first blade in Dean’s hands in 9x16 and that’s his first major descent into uncontrollable violence. He kills Magnus with the first blade and is then overwhelmed / taken over by the feeling, before Sam tells Dean to drop the blade and he returns back to himself.
Crowley puts the first blade into Dean’s hands that he awakens again as a literal demon in 9x23, what would have eventually happened to Dean if he hadn’t been rescued from Hell.
Death puts his scythe into Dean’s hands to kill Sam in 10x23, an act that makes basically no sense from an in-universe or character perspective. Death knows how irrationally attached Sam and Dean were to each other and yet makes Dean to be the one to kill Sam? If Death was really worried about the Mark being removed from Dean and the Darkness being unleashed, he would have transported Dean away and killed Sam himself. But Dean resisting the Mark, particularly out of his love for Sam, was a key moment the writers wanted to show. Associations here with Dean finally resisting an authority figure giving him a weapon and telling to hurt someone, unlike in the past with Alastair and Magnus and Crowley. One could even go so far back to link this with John, forcing Dean into hunting, and / or John’s command that he ‘save or kill Sam.’
Also perhaps related to the “keep each other human” theme. Say in 5x04, without Dean, Sam said yes to Lucifer, and without Sam, Dean again became a torturer and ruthless leader of the Apocalypse survivors, but then in 5x22, together Sam and Dean stopped the Apocalypse. So Sam’s love for Dean, Dean’s love for Sam, allowed Dean to resist the Mark at the end of 10x23. But  there’s the emphasis the writers place on Dean having willpower / strength of character to resist in 10x23. It’s not a pure ‘Sam saving Dean’ moment, it’s also about Dean stepping up. Dean’s a hero, heroes don’t give up. Can’t give up? But then Dean did give up in Hell when he broke.
Then there’s how 10x23 mirrors 5x22, Sam taking back control from Lucifer vs Dean taking back control from the Mark. Lucifer as standing in for Sam’s “monstrousness,” the Mark as standing in for Dean’s “killer instincts,” brotherly love allowing them to overcome these inner demons. Is Sam’s ‘monstrousness’ theme the same or different from Dean’s ‘killer’ theme? Sam as monster seems to be tied up with his choices in the Kripke era. Ruby’s line from 4x22, 5x22 being about Sam and Dean choosing each other, choosing family. But later on Dean as a killer / violent is something the show seems to frames as innate for Dean, despite Dean being forcing into hunting / killing / violence by John, not having that choice as a child...
Dean seen as having more choice than he actually does not just the fandom but by the narrative itself? the parentification angle, yes, the responsibility put on Dean’s shoulders for Sam’s choices in s4/s5, how that then continues. also for Cas’s later on (say, early s7 when Death blames Dean for not stopping Cas from opening up Purgatory). the story giving Dean too much agency / choice / control relates to seeing what he did in Hell as a choice too? the false equivalency of Dean breaking the first seal and Sam breaking the last in 5x05, that the conversation makes it sound like Dean had a choice & wouldn’t have broken if he’d know his breaking was the first seal like Sam wouldn’t have killed Lilith if he’d know she was the last. that perhaps Dean breaking was a horrible, terrible choice but still a choice nonetheless? except looking at Dean’s “choice” against Sam’s, Hell / Alastair’s torture & the angels deliberately not rescuing Dean until he broke vs Sam’s being manipulated but having much more freedom of choice in s4 in comparison.

I don’t want to be a huge asshole, but...
There are a lot of people trying to find a modicum of positivity in the finale. It’s not about this Destiel-Bibro war that’s happened over the years, it’s not about Cas, it’s not about any of the superficial drama. This finale was the weirdest mixture of OOC and in character writing I have ever seen.
Things that are in character:
The brothers put each other first. They are each other’s safe place and stability. Up until the very end. Sam respected Dean’s wishes, stayed with him in his last moments, and let him go gracefully. Sam even went on and had a full life so Dean’s sacrifices weren’t in vain.
For Dean, Heaven wasn’t perfect without Sam there. And he had this huge sense of relief and happiness when Sam arrived.
Jack deconstructed the walls of Heaven so that it was a vast place where everyone could be together. They weren’t living out their “best memories” anymore. They were creating new memories eternally with each other. And Bobby recognizing that Jack is like Dean’s son by saying, “That boy of yours...”
Cas helped build the Heaven that he always dreamed of. Cas always had such a high standard for Heaven, and it always fell short. He helped Jack build a home that was warm and comforting and beautiful and open and loving and true. Everything Cas stood for.
Bobby, the man Dean adopted as his father, was there to share a beer with him (just like Dean shared with his dad in his childhood). And Bobby was happy and confirmed that Dean is in a Heaven he deserves.
Sam mourning Dean’s death for the rest of his life, but also living his life to honor Dean. Classic Sam.
Dean using his last moments to tell Sam how much he loves him and how proud he is. Sam deserved to hear that because we all know Sam looked at Dean as a parental figure.
Things that are OOC:
Sam not marrying Eileen. The show created this HUGE story arc around Sam and Eileen and their real love and connection. And then they shoot this finale and couldn’t even get an actress that looked like Eileen to stand it the blurry background. Like, I don’t care what you say, it’s NOT open to interpretation. Sam did not end up with Eileen. All of you people who are Sam stans, who say you want your character to be happy and live a full life should be livid. Sam ending up with Eileen wouldn’t have canceled out the fact that Dean was/is his number one person. Dean gave his blessing for Eileen, and he loved her and welcomed her into their lives because he knew Sam loved her and had a genuine connection with her. Having them together would not have ruined the ending in any way. Sam still could have ended up with Dean on that bridge.
Tumblr media
That woman with the blonde/light brown hair is NOT Eileen. They couldn’t even get an actress with dark brown hair to keep hope alive that they ended up together. Absolutely awful.
Dean just accepting Cas’ death and not even talking about it, other than to say, “Yeah I think about em’ too.” I don’t care if you don’t believe in Destiel or that the love was reciprocated. Dean EXCLUSIVELY said multiple times that Cas is a member of their family and a brother to the boys. He said the words, “YOU”RE MY BEST FRIEND.” I’m not saying Dean should have scarified himself to go pull Cas out of the Empty (because we had 40 minutes to wrap up 15 years). But the fact that Dean was like: I’m gonna eat some pie and just not acknowledge any feelings or thoughts and act like nothing ever happened is SO OOC. If your best friend died tragically, you’d have something to say about it or act like you had something to say about it. And that’s not to say I wanted Dean to be miserable and hurting. I’m happy he got a dog and found some normalcy. But they lost SO many people, and he’s just walking around cool as a cucumber? When every other season/episode where they lost someone important to Dean he was a mess. And I’m not just talking about Cas- we all obviously know how Dean behaved when Cas died/was missing/Lucifer was controlling him. But even when Jo and Ellen died. Even when Mary died. Even when Bobby died. Even when John died. Even when Crowley died. Even when Jack died, Dean was shown hurting. Suddenly everything is cool and normal there’s no pain or anything? The fuck? A brief moment of acknowledgement. That’s all it needed.
I will never forgive the writers for ending Dean’s story that way. A rusty nail impaling him (probably in his pulmonary arteries/aorta based on the angle) on some random hunt after he finally exhaled the episode before and said, “We’re finally free.” He sacrificed his ENTIRE childhood and life for his brother and the world and so many other people, and he didn't even get to enjoy being a human on the Earth and living a life for more than a week. What! Dean was always a character filled with tragedy, and yeah, maybe he did have to die. You can make that argument. But like that?! AND. AND! Sam held a funeral for Dean and DIDN’T INVITE ANYONE! What!!! No one was there to toast to Dean and share their memories and give him the send-off he deserved. Sam just burned his body alone. Never. That would have NEVER happened. Sam loved Dean SO much and looked up to him and thought the world of him. Dean was his big brother who was fearless and strong and the best hunter on this Earth (and probably every other planet), and he didn’t celebrate his life in the end?
Cas not showing up in Heaven is absolutely insane. INSANE. It doesn’t matter what you think of their relationship, the show has proven that Cas is important to Dean (even if you think Cas is way at the bottom of the list, he’s on it!). Dean’s ideal retirement/endgame was him, Sam, and Cas on a beach, drinking cocktails, with hula girls. That was the future Dean wanted for him and his family. And you’re telling me that Cas helped Jack build the best version of Heaven possible, and the minute Dean Winchester arrived Cas wasn’t there to greet him. Even just to say “Hello, Dean.” Even call Dean’s phone and say, “Welcome home.” Cas would have been the one greeting Dean in Heaven, with Bobby. Requited or not, it’s canon that Cas is in love with Dean. You don’t just ignore the opportunity to see the person you’re in love with. And... and! Even if Cas didn’t greet Dean in Heaven immediately, he would have appeared in the Impala during the drive. He would have met the brothers on the bridge to welcome them both home. Cas loved Sam too. He would have been there. The three boys together again. Team Free Will!
I love Cas, and I know a lot of Cas stans feel buried and betrayed and hurt over the show doing a “is he there or isn’t he?” thing. And that is completely valid. I can’t even express to you how sorry I am that so many of us in the fandom are hurting. But I know this show. And this show has always made it clear that it was/is always about two brothers. Fine. But Dean Winchester, the most caring and loving human in the entire universe, deserved better. I am so sick to my stomach that Dean’s whole life was him convinced that there was only one way for his story to end and it was him dying tragically. For years he never let himself even entertain the thought of living a life because he 1) didn’t think he deserved that or was worth it 2) it just wasn’t in the cards. We watched Dean grow so much, SO MUCH, that we finally saw him talking about the future and having hope for the future. And yeah, maybe he wouldn’t get the future he talked about with the retirement on the beach, but he would have lived long enough to experience life outside of just “playing whack-a-mole” and being God’s favorite story and puppet. Dean didn’t even get to enjoy his freedom and humanity. They took a character that they purposefully pushed through so many stages of character development to attain hope and faith and self-worth and promise, and killed him.
What the fuck!

Oo, on the topic of sandwiches... what are your thought on Simeon x MC x Lucifer? I feel like there could be so much baggage, but there’s also just... so much history and room for healing and reconciliation? Simeon is already really trying to reach out to Lucifer and reconnect, but he’s also so struggling in his day to day life with letting people in and seeing the uglier sides of himself. Or it could be just fucking angst. Like I can see it going over one of two ways - an oscar worthy dramatic romance with so many heartfelt confessions, or a Greek Tragedy. Yay or nae, I ask?
I feel bad bc I've actually got another ask about this pairing, and the answer I came to after writing about it was kinda... Nay?
That's not to say the ship is completely unworkable, but to be honest, it's something that you'd put in a longfic, one where Luci and Simeon are both getting character development and a whole reconciliation arc.
As they are in the game, though... there are some problems.
Now, Lucifer is actually a surprisingly Good Boy when it comes to sharing MC in the story.
He arranges for you to have equal time with the brothers, and he even doesn't hesitate to send you to spend time with one of his brothers if the situation calls for it.
So Lucifer, I could actually see sharing... with his brothers. And with Diavolo, he's obviously friendly, respectful.
But these are all people Lucifer knows well. People he's close to. People whose happiness he considers his responsibility.
Simeon... is not on that list, not really. Although in later seasons, Lucifer does start to warm up to him, but early on, their relationship is definitely pretty chilly. At least, on Lucifer's side.
Simeon is quite an archetypal angel, trying to get along with Lucifer, sidestepping and ignoring loads of barbed comments and even outright rejection.
(hmmmMMmm I wonder who else tells us he won't take no for an answer? and not nearly as nicely as Simeon goes about it-)
Lucifer likes the Devildom. He likes being a demon. He feels like it suits him, more than the Celestial Realm ever did.
Simeon... is an angel. Simeon was a seraph, the highest rank of angel (the rank Lucifer was), when Lucifer first rebelled.
There's enough to unpack between them without you getting in the middle of it. If you are in the middle of it...
-
I can see a much more competitive, and possibly even aggressive angle with this than other sandwiches.
Lucifer doesn't want you to leave him. He doesn't want you to leave his brothers, and the people in the Devildom who care about you. He, in particular, doesn't want you in the Celestial Realm, a place he despised enough to rebel against.
Leaving him for Simeon is probably like... one step below leaving him for Michael. Or going whole hog and leaving him for his father to become a nun -
So his investment in the sandwich is very much. Assert his position. Keep his hold on you. Make sure you don't run away with the angel.
Simeon himself is tangentially interested in mending things with Lucifer, but also of course quite genuinely in love with you.
To be honest, there's gonna be some tension over that. Lucifer would be pretty quick to pick at any perceived fault on Simeon's part. Not super aggressively, but definitely with disdain.
As for Simeon, he's pretty much completely immune. There's not much Lucifer can do to him. Even the most barbed remarks will be either brushed off or ignored completely.
Or worse, Simeon will respond to Lucifer with compliments. A remark on his embarrassing texting skills will be met with a, "You're much better at it than I am, aren't you, Lucifer? You even gave a name to our private chat!"
(it definitely pisses off Lucifer, in this case because Lucifer named his chat with Simeon "Brothers No More". you know. so that Simeon would. Get the message)
You won't be going on many dates with them both at once, primarily because Lucifer won't want to.
However, I can see him hanging out with you while you're with Simeon. Mostly to keep you and Simeon from getting too close.
Over time, he might grow more comfortable with the arrangement, and even fonder of Simeon, as he seems to in the main game.
Lucifer can speak and act towards Simeon on perfectly amiable terms, of course, and he does that even in Season 1.
But that's because Simeon is a guest from another realm. The group chat is named "Brothers No More" and Lucifer often straight up ignores Simeon's texts.
It's actually pretty amazing watching Simeon take it like a champion tbh. He's not perturbed in the least, and I suspect that behavior might bother Lucifer - just like your nosiness does before you and Luci get close.
With you around, maybe they can manage some genuine interactions. If you make a group chat Lucifer might just leave unless he sees Simeon flirting with you XD
Overall... honestly, I don't see it ending in any tragic heartbreak (unless you leave Lucifer for Simeon) but I don't think they could really get close enough for things to work as well as some of the other sandwiches.
Even if Simeon were to fall and become a demon, I'm not sure if Lucifer would ever see him like family, the way he sees his brothers.
The baggage between them is something that would be exacerbated by a sandwich, I think, and not fixed by it. It's something they'd need to work out on an individual level if it were ever going to go away completely.
In any case... they're both very intelligent people, but a sandwich here is very much like being in a relationship with both of them individually.
Simeon and Lucifer will leave you to your other lover as you please, but this isn't going to be much of a threesome where you're all in synch.

I feel bad discussing spn now that’s over but I’ve been wondering. Do you think dean actually meant it when he said “why does that something always seem to be you” (15.03)? Usually people blurt out what’s on their mind all of a sudden even if they didn’t mean to say it out loud. But it comes out because the person either thinks about it or actually believes it. Do you think at one point Dean truly blamed Cas for Mary? I mean, putting 15.09 aside of course.
Why do you feel bad discussing SPN now the show’s over, anon?? Don’t feel bad!
The short answer to your question, in my view, is that Dean was lashing out because of how his unaddressed trauma over Cas dying (cf. 7x01, purgatory, 12x23) gets entangled with him processing his grief over Mary and Jack. Everything is further exacerbated by Chuck’s villain reveal, and the events that lead to Rowena’s “death.”  The longer answer to this question starts with acknowledging that feelings and trauma are complicated things that aren't always rational. And that's the crux of the matter for Dean in that moment he lashes out at Cas: he's not behaving rationally. We know Dean is angry, and historically doesn't handle anger well at all, but we also know, even without 15x09, that what Dean is really feeling is fear. In that moment, Dean is angry, and he's scared. If you watch the scene closely, too, you'll notice that Dean is still present enough to regret saying "why does that something always seem to be you" to Cas. He tenses up, he looks down and only looks up again in stubbornness defiance when Cas says he can't even look at him. Then Cas leaves, which has always been an issue for Dean. However warranted Cas's decision to leave was, it still hits Dean as rejection, too. All this is to say that the break up scene is extremely fraught, and Dean is the type of person who needs time to process events and emotions, and time to process is something he hasn't had since Mary disappeared.
So you ask: ok, cool, but what does all of that have to do with Cas dying, Liv? And here's where I say they have everything to do with Cas dying. I've talked about this before in tags and in other posts that I can't think of right now, but there are common occurrences in the events that have led to the more traumatic Cas deaths. If we think of Cas dying in 07x01, the context for that is as follows: Cas needs to solve a problem, he wants to ask Dean for help, but the desire to not burden him with it is greater, so Cas ends up handling the problem solo, which leads to disaster and also him dying. Or, well, apparently dying. But as far as Dean was concerned, Cas was dead, and he did struggle with it a lot during season 7. Now, fast-forward to s12 and the context of how Cas ends up dead then: Cas needs to solve a problem, part of him does want to cooperate with Sam and Dean to solve it, but he ultimately decides his desire to bring Dean a win, and to shield him and Sam from actions they'd suffer from are greater. Predictably, Cas ends up handling the problem solo, which leads to complications, and him being killed by Lucifer. Cas's death in 12x23 is significantly more traumatic to Dean than the one in 07x01 as season 13 starts with a grief arc that is devoted to Dean's suffering over Cas -- to the point that suffering overshadows even his grief over Mary. Granted, these are somewhat reductive summaries of the events of seasons 7 and 12, but the fact remains that those two deaths were remarkably similar as well as traumatic.
If you look at trauma theory in regards to literary analysis, you'll notice that a key element is repetition. The story of trauma is a story of echoes, which is partly why triggers are what they are for people who have PTSD. In particular, a situation doesn't need to be an exact replica in order to evoke a traumatic memory. A situation need only be similar enough to the traumatic event to cause a trauma response. Therefore, if we keep in mind that the events leading to 15x03 aren’t exact mirrors of 07x01 or 12x23, but too reminiscent for comfort, then Dean’s behavior toward Cas starts making a bit more sense -- not excused, but understandable. A quick summary of these similarities goes as follows: Cas notices there’s is something off with Jack because of his soul; he decides to investigate on his own to avoid worrying the Winchesters and also because of his own fear of losing his family. He only comes forward with what is happening after something potentially disastrous has happened (Mary’s death). Later, Cas deviates from the agreed plan to close the wound leading to hell, which leads to another disastrous consequence (Rowena’s death). What does this look like? Cas makes a decision to act on his own, and doesn’t tell Dean (or Sam) about it, something goes wrong, someone dies. Notably, here, moreover, is that Cas obviously doesn’t die, but he has paralleled Mary before (when he was dead in s13) and there’s an argument to be made that he would eventually parallel Rowena (with heaven), but that’s from a metanarrative perspective rather than Dean’s, and I digress.
Oh, It’s worth noting, too, that the way in which the arc starting with 14x18 and culminating in 15x03 presents a similar, but not quite, chain of events as those of previous seasons signals the intentionality of the trauma narrative.
But anyway, as we were: the resonance between the traumatic and triggering events, with the latter being traumatic in their own way, make Dean response in a way that is unfair for the situation at hand, but betray a deeper truth about Dean’s state of mind. Backtracking a little from 15x03, the first instance of Dean lashing out at Cas happens in 14x18 with the (heartbreaking) line: “Then you're dead to me.” At face value, those words are a condemnation of Cas and indicate a complete breakdown of the relationship, hinging on Jack having hurt/killed Mary. There is, however, another angle there, pain simmering beneath the surface, which makes more sense in its direction to Cas: the last time Jack, Mary, and Cas were involved in a tableaux like this, Cas died and Mary was gone. In what is an inversion of events, Mary is dead and Cas is...there, but as an echo of Jack’s birth, to say Cas is dead is a statement of fact: he did die, then. And as he was a parallel to Mary in the aftermath of Jack’s birth (and the rehashing of the John, Dean, Sam drama through Dean, Sam, and Jack), so is he a parallel to Mary here, except in circumstance. Both Mary and Cas had been after Jack. Mary happened to find him first, but Cas could’ve easily been the one to find him. Easily been the one who died. See the issue? This is obviously not to say that Dean’s grief and rage weren’t about Mary herself, but that the situations are entangled and murky.
Further entanglement and murkiness happen when Cas is forced to change the plan to seal the hell wound in 15x03. We all know, including Dean, that there was nothing Cas could’ve done instead of what he did. But besides the change of plans, there’s an undercurrent of anxiety of the wound closing before Cas makes it out. He does, of course, but that’s the what if, always. And to illustrate the possibility, Rowena sacrifices herself to close the wound. It’s not coincidence that the similarities here are tenuous considering the stress burden from everything that has happened since 14x18 has continued to grow with no respite.
The stage is set then for the confrontation that leads to Cas walking out of the bunker. Dean is clearly on edge, and Cas is in a particularly vulnerable and hopeless headspace:
CASTIEL: Sorry about Rowena. DEAN: You're sorry? Why didn't you just stick to the damn plan? CASTIEL: Belphegor was lying. DEAN: Belphegor's a demon. CASTIEL: He was using us. He wanted to eat every last soul to take over Hell, Earth, and every... DEAN: Yeah, and we would've figured it out... after. With Rowena. CASTIEL: The plan changed, Dean. Something went wrong. You know this. Something always goes wrong. DEAN: Yeah, why does that something always seem to be you?
The reason I went of this long journey to come back to this is so as to make clear that what Dean is talking about here isn’t about Rowena at all, and it’s not about Mary either. We know Dean didn’t really blame Cas for Mary, and that he didn’t blame him for Rowena, either. But do those bolded parts sound familiar?
CASTIEL: Listen. Raphael will kill us all. He'll turn the world into a graveyard. I had no choice.
DEAN: No, you had a choice. You just made the wrong one.
CASTIEL: You don't understand. It's complicated.
DEAN: No, actually, it's not, and you know that. Why else would you keep this whole thing a secret, huh, unless you knew that it was wrong? When crap like this comes around, we deal with it... Like we always have. What we don't do is we don't go out and make another deal with the Devil!
CASTIEL: It sounds so simple when you say it like that. Where were you when I needed to hear it?
DEAN: I was there. Where were you?
DEAN: You should've come to us for help, Cas.
How about:
DEAN: Cas, you can't – With everything that's going on, you can't just go dark like that. We didn't know what happened to you. We were worried. That's not okay. CASTIEL: Well, I didn't mean to add to your distress. I – Dean, I just keep failing. Again and again. When you were taken, I searched for months and I couldn't find you. And then Kelly escaped on my watch, and I couldn't find her. And I just wanted I needed to come back here with a win for you. For myself.
[...]
DEAN : We will find a better way. CASTIEL: You mean, we? DEAN : Yes, dumbass. We. You, me, and Sam, we're just better together. So now that you're back, let's go, Team Free Will. Let's get it done. CASTIEL: I'd like that. DEAN: Great.
“Then, you’re dead to me.” “...why does that something always seem to be you”
Because it’s Cas, and Cas being dead and gone. The tragedy of the divorce arc is that Cas ends up gone, too. However, this time, it’s Dean’s fault for not stopping him. Here, Dean’s fear of Cas dying leads to the anger that ultimately pushes him away. So, yeah, Dean meant what he said, but not in the way Cas took it. Not in the way it appeared as.
The other tragedy of Supernatural ending as it did is that Dean never got to heal from that trauma, he never got to confront Cas for it, either. Make no mistake, the empty deal is another spiral of Dean’s unaddressed trauma over Cas dying. The beats are the same, and the result is Cas, gone, and Dean, shattered. Sadly, we never got our final resolution, the climatic reunion that would mirror Dean’s prayer in purgatory and Cas’s confession in the dungeon. It’s a story left unfinished.
