Happy Saturday Fandom :) Wanted to post links to the last few I know they came over the holidays in case anyone missed them. The master list has also been updated. 4x22 , 5x01, 5x02
We’ve reached our yearning era and I’m here for it. This one may not have a ton but it’s just enough that at we were all dying for more. I was so excited to be an era where very aware of their feelings but couldn’t be together yet. Good stuff. Let us proceed shall we?
5x03-Dye Hard
Tumblr media
We jump one month into the future. Because Lucy has gone to UC school. So our couple has been apart for some time at this point. Making that longing extra intense. Lucy arrives home to a surprise party of sorts. She's just returning home from UC school. Tamara and Chris welcome her back with mustaches. I love how excited she is Lucy is back. Always take some cute hugs with them. She tells Lucy the she has to head to school but wants to hear all about it tonight. I love them so much.
Tumblr media
Leaves us just the clown and Lucy. Bleh. She asks him how he’s doing? Says he’s doing ok. Typing is still hard but he’s glad to be back at work. Was going crazy on the couch. Tells her there’s something else that’s been helping him more. An online group trying to hunt Rosalind. Kinda like the one she was apart of for Aaron’s case back in 4x16. Lucy doesn’t look excited about this idea. He says they contacted him few weeks ago. They call themselves Dye Hards.
Hence the name of the episode. That their research is actually impressive. They compile all their credible tips in an encrypted document. Called the ‘mother doc.’ Lucy’s face is screaming how much she hates all this. But instead of reading her like he should he presses her further. Because it’s Chris…never respects any boundaries she’s putting up but sure man keep going. Force her to read about the one person who sets her PTSD off like no other.
Just so you can have some peace of mind…grumble….Dislike him so very much. Lucy tells him how not healthy this is. (It really isn’t…) That she’s just a patrol officer. He whines about how the task force is ignoring him. Of course they are ya putz. It's why he’s dragging her into this. I hate this very much. Lucy gives in and says she’ll give his doc a look. That good ole guilt driving her decisions about him some more. Smh.
Tumblr media
Roll call starts out with Grey congratulating Lucy. She successfully passed UC school. Telling everyone that is no small feat. Look at Tim ever the proud husband. That look alone says everything you need to know about her crushing it. The soft looks in his eyes. That soft gaze he only reserves for her. *sigh* Oh pining era you are lovely.
Lucy trying to contain her emotions about all of it. Grey calling her out and congratulating her. Tim looking at her like she hung the moon and stars. Couldn’t be more telling if he tried. She can’t even look at him. Just messes with her thermos. Lucy not really knowing how to react to the attention. Especially Tim’s…She just nods and hopes they move on.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Aaron and Lucy come out of roll call together. Lucy is congratulating him on making P2. Lucy also commends him on being a good aide for Tim. Aaron is very aware of Tim and Lucy. Maybe not everything but enough to offer stepping back. Then asks Lucy if Tim said he’s doing a good job? Lucy says no…that she made that last part up LMAO
Reminds me of 1x02 when Wrigley did the same to her. Thinking she got praise from Tim early on. Only to be crushed by the fact that he hadn't...Yeah you gotta really earn that Tim Bradford praise Aaron lol His reaction to that fake news is hilarious. Lucy can't lie and has to let him know no such praise has happened. Sorry my man.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lucy follows it up with he hasn’t replaced him yet LOL I mean that’s a lot coming from Tim. If he wasn't happy he would've traded him away like baseball card. Lucy adding on 'So he’s…happy.' As happy as one could be without his person by his side sure. This next bit it sticks in her throat a bit as she says it.
Telling him he should stick with him. Obviously killing her to be to be apart from him. To pass up taking being his aide once again. But she wants to keep the distance up. For the same reasons as 5x02. Hurts too much to be around him when she can’t be with him. The pining era is so good for these moments. Aaron asks if she’s sure? Because she doesn't seem sure...
Tumblr media
Only they could have such immense chemistry with an intense stare. One that is across the room from each other BTW. The longing is palpable af. Angsty goodness right here. Also those are some smoldering bedroom eyes for Lucy. My god idk how she could function after him looking at her that way. Would make me hot under the collar good god. That man wants her back in his shop. But we know that isn’t happening anytime soon.
So much pining and tension with just one look good lord. His stare does end up affecting her. Her breath hitches a little when they make eye contact. She stammers a little in her advice to Aaron. I love how they find each other those across a room. That magnetic pull only they understand. It’s automatic no matter what’s going on. Lucy rambling on about needing some quiet time anyways..You know for her next steps in her career...
Tumblr media
More like Tim thinking time. Let’s be real. I love how the entire time she’s just staring at Tim. Spending most of their conversation just staring right back. Even when he’s looked down. She misses him so much. That is very evident in this moment. When she finally breaks off her longing she notices Aaron looking at his phone ha Not even paying attention to her anymore. Making a sassy comment that he hasn't even heard a word she's said. He apologizes and says he has to deal with something personal.
Tumblr media
We start out with Tim and Aaron. Tim feeling extra surly after seeing Lucy. Much worse getting to be that close and not really getting to see her. So Aaron is on thin ice when Tim sees him buried in his phone. He apologizes and says he’s having person problem. Tim saying this is a ‘personal life free zone.’ Ha! Not since Lucy Chen entered your life it isn’t…
Aaron tells him it could derail his career. Tim sighs and that little bit of Lucy’s influence comes out. He asks him what it is? Aaron going on about a dating site. Using a thirst trap LOL Tim’s reaction is too damn funny. ‘I wish I didn’t…’ Look at our softie helping Aaron with his problem.
He goes on to tell Tim he was cat-fished and now the dude is blackmailing him. Tim is confused saying he thought the pic didn’t show anything? We find out this guy has photoshopped something worse. He shows it to Tim and I’m dying. ‘Could’ve been worse…At least he was generous. LMAO Oh Timothy I love you so.
Tumblr media
We catch Lucy riding solo. She sees a homeless man go into an abandoned building. Calls it in saying she going to go look for squatters. She calls back in after she’s finds nothing. Saying she is Code 4. That is before she notices a freezer open with wallets in it. The man she followed in traps her in the old walk in freezer. Thankfully it’s out of commission. Unfortunately it blocks her radio signal. Leaving her trapped there with no one to tell she is….You can tell she wants to shout a whole lot of expletives above ha
Tumblr media
Aaron gets contacted by his catfish. He wants a PS5 and delivered to his apt. Tim is so funny in this scene. Saying oh good he’s a dumbass LOL Giving up his location and needing something they can obtain on the way. Aaron doesn’t want to give in but Tim makes a good point about the photo. It’ll be in police evidence and he doesn’t want that ha. Aaron says good thing he has a gamer connection in K-Town. Tim shaking his head not shocked in the least about this. Of course he does...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Poor Lucy tries once again to get ahold of dispatch but to no avail. She has to try and talk her anxiety down. I would be doing the same thing to try and relax. Telling herself that at some point there will be a welfare check. (Well Tim will for sure…) She can’t do anything until that point. So she pulls out her phone and starts reading that mother doc the clown sent. Lucy is too funny as she reads these messages.
I love her talking to the smiley face on the freezer LOL She is so adorable I cannot stand it. Then she stumbles upon someone making sense. As she reads it aloud something clicks in her brain. A saying Rosalind told Nolan a long time ago. The 5 star meal comment. Lucy starts to get restless again. Jumps up and starts banging on the door for help again.
Tumblr media
They show up to the address and it’s a teenager..he just wanted a PS5. I love how stern and authoritative Tim is with this kid. Saying bad behavior doesn’t get rewarded. Mmm no it doesn’t. Idk why that does it for me with Tim but it does. It’s yum tum city and I am a resident. They get the kid to delete the photo and take down the profile. He says they suck when Tim takes the PS5. Cracks me up he keeps it for himself. I love this man so very much haha
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We return to the shop and Tim’s Lucy radar is going off. Aaron’s going on about the kid still but Tim’s mind is elsewhere. He has Lucy on his brain. Has that panicked look he reserves only for her going on. He asks Aaron the last time he heard Chen on the radio? He replies he can’t remember…maybe like hour or two ago? Let me start with I adore him waiting to hear her voice on the radio. Then noticing he hasn't in awhile.
How he keeps track of not hearing from her in some time. Tim knows she’s solo today. You know that man was subconsciously keeping track of her in the back of his mind. Some serious married vibes here my love. This definitely doesn’t line up with the 'moving on’ you were talking bout in 5x02. When Aaron says least 2 hours worried Tim arrives. He’s freaking out something has happened to her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m sure he’s also thinking if she was riding with him this wouldn’t be happening. But she isn’t…Tim contacts dispatch about her. They say it’s been over two hours. Angry/protective Tim also joins the party. Welcome sir nice to see you. Telling dispatch they’re gonna talk about that later. Phew lord. You know that man is going to destroy dispatch over this. Hell is going to rain down on them for not keeping track of her. For now he just wants her location to check on her. Needs to get his worried husband portion to settle first.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once they’ve arrived he calls out her name a couple times. Lucy finally hears him and bangs on the door. Then comes a DELICIOUS shot of his arms/forearms. My god it’s like they’re trying to make me a puddle. The definition in his arms as he pulls that door free.* fans self* god that man is in shape. Mmm Legit drooling as he pulls on that door. Forearm porn AND biceps shot. I’m a happy girl. Like hot damn that is a thirst trap of a shot above.
Tumblr media
He gets the door to finally pop open. Also nice thigh/bootie shot of him as well. I'm not mad about it. Asking her how she is? So very worried about her. Unfortunately Lucy is not in the frame of mind to receive it. Just tells him she has a lead on Rosalind. Not the response he was expecting…He asks 'What?' anyways. She tells them about the message boards Chris has been on. Filled with arm chair detectives. Tim asks her if they found her? She says no she thinks one of them is her.
Tumblr media
The Feds get brought in cause Chris’s dumbass has been talking to her. Feeding her stuff about him and the investigation going on. Because well it's Chris. Can’t read Lucy when she’s being obvious af so why would he notice this? Lucy is sweet and tells him he didn’t know. I on the other hand am like dumbass LOL He asks if he should set up a meet. Yes Chris, she’s a highly intelligent psychopath she wouldn’t see through that at all…
Garza saying Cyber crimes is now involved. They’re going to try and track her through her IP address if possible. Chris is feeling like the dummy he is. He leaves the meeting upset. I’m a bad person enjoying this lmao I mean Tim would’ve been Lucy’s real target but he was in Vegas with her. She knows that’s her fierce protector. So he was the next I was gonna say best thing but that’s not true. But closest thing that would rattle her.
Tumblr media
Tim and Aaron arrive at the station and there is posters everywhere. Everyone is laughing. Of course Smitty has them and is glowing over it. I mean Tim did pick Nolan over him for union president. So of course he is enjoying this. It's of Tim photoshopped naked with a cupcake covering him up OMG. Tim is seeing red. I don’t blame him. Just when they thought their catfish was over he pulls this. Clearly pissed at Tim for taking the PS5 and lecturing him.
Tumblr media
They arrive at Pavi’s house with the felony papers. Tim saying he can file these today. Or he could use his skills for good. James needs someone to teach computer literacy at the center. That if is does this twice a week he’ll shred them. Otherwise he has 18 months to file these. He’s a little snot and throws Tim’s words about electronics back at him. Tim says he’s lucky Aaron believes in second chances. His mom calls him and he says to text him the details. I love Tim leaving Aaron hanging for his fist bump LMFAO. He does tell him they did good though so that’s something. Aaron has to fist bump himself ha.
Tumblr media
Lucy gets to join the task force with the FBI. They’re headed to Seattle where the IP was traced. Lucy looks like an absolute bad ass in OP gear. A determined look on her face. They make it inside and find two bodies…sadly the homeowners. Psycho worked out of their house and just left their bodies there as she did. She is a one sick cookie. Lucy sees her message written in blood on the wall. She is long gone.
Not a ton in this one but what we did get was real good. Plus I always enjoy Tim/Aaron time they have a good dynamic. Fun to watch them together.
~~~
Side notes-non Chenford
Intro of Celina Juarez. I wasn’t sure about her at first but ended up adoring her. Just like Aaron. Good job writers haha
Did love Tim tearing Nolan a new one about Celina bad stop. Was sexy af. Maybe shouldn’t have been a turn on but it was LOL
Thank you as always to you lovely readers. Wouldn’t be here without your likes/comments and reblogs ❤️ see you in 5x04 :)
Reminiscing on the Hard Road (A Gruvia Fic)
Rating: M
Summary: While on his way to a mission, Gray reflects on the hardships, tears, battles, and triumphs which led to him and Juvia finding their happiness together. (Or: the story of how they finally, officially got together told through memories).
AO3 Link ; FFNet Link
Words: ~8,000
Warnings: Please read with caution as this contains adult themes & situations (though nothing explicit). Also swearing and allusions to mental illness, dissociation and depression symptoms especially. Man this feels like the end of a drug commercial. Enjoy!
AN: I realized how long it'd been since I updated Chasing Tails and was feeling really bad about it. I'm so sorry, guys! I've just been really busy! I don't have time to get Chapter 5 up tonight, but I do have the time to share this Gruvia piece I wrote a while ago as a karmic sort of apology.
With that in mind, this is a bit of a rough, long one-shot. It comes from a chapter in a larger, mostly Nalu-focused fic which I may or may not ever actually finish writing. Sooo it's not even really a one-shot so much as it's, like, a segment of a chapter from one. I also barely had time to clean it up ever so slightly.
However, I thought Gruvia fans would appreciate anyway. Maybe one day, I'll write the whole thing because I honestly think it could be a story, or maybe a series of drabbles? This is all you kids get for now, though, lol. no fucks given (just kidding this will keep me up nights.)
o(O)o
Ignoring Natsu's whining about still being motion sick from beside him, Gray buried his hands in his pockets and let his eyes engage in their favorite past-time: roaming the curves of the blue-haired woman walking in front of him.
Him and Juvia had officially been together for over half a year, but his eyes still snagged on the same places they always had. The sway of her blue hair, now long enough to partly obscure the pinch of her waist and flare of her hips with each swish. The pretty, cute flush that lived on her cheeks as she listened attentively to Erza, who was chattering about a famous desert shop in the area. The way shadow and light shifted over the curve of her rear. And—forever his most favorite—the exposed skin of her legs. Long, toned, moon white...and fucking perfect.
Gray felt his cheeks heat, but couldn't find it in himself to drag his eyes away. The solidness and length of their relationship did absolutely nothing to diminish the novelty of her beauty, like he might once have feared it would. Instead, it hypnotized him more surely than ever. Noticing all the men drooling over her figure as they walked past, Gray was aware of the sting of possessiveness and annoyance which rose in his chest, but was also easily able to ignore it.
He was as comfortable as any guy with a stunning girlfriend could be in his own jealousy, these days. More shockingly, so was Juvia, a fact that was plain from the way she shot only perfunctory glares at the women eyeing him and whispering to each other as they passed.
As he stared at her back, his lips quirked ever so slightly. It had taken time, tears, and work—more work than he could ever have anticipated—to get to this point in their relationship. But work had never been more worth it.
His mind wandered to reminiscence. To where it had all started, when they had started, after the 100-Year Quest had ended and he'd finally—with Lucy, Levy, and Erza's help—managed to ask Juvia to be his girlfriend.
"Not just 'yours'," Levy had insisted, explaining that phrasing would confuse her. "Your girlfriend."
He'd actually fought them on it. Not really because he had a problem with commitment anymore (okay, it was a little embarrassing, but not too much) but because the words "girlfriend" and "boyfriend" felt ridiculous, considering everything they'd been through. How deeply he cared about her. For crying out loud, they'd tried to kill themselves for each other. He'd kill for her, die for her, and—most importantly—he would live for her. Beyond making his ears feel like they were going to melt off, the word "girlfriend" felt trite.
But when Lucy and Levy demanded to know if that meant he was going to propose, he'd balked. Actually, having the m-word shoved right up against his nose kind of made his soul flee his body. As ready as he was for a romantic relationship, he wanted to go through the actual experience of having one. Like, with all the steps involved. In order. He was at the point in his life that he wanted it more than anything.
More importantly, he wanted to give Juvia that experience. He was determined to do right by her.
With the girls' reality check, and the point they'd made that ambiguity might make Juvia jump to the wrong conclusion or even hurt her, they'd convinced him. He'd been committed to making his long-awaited confession as special for Juvia as possible, complete with saying any embarrassing words she wanted to hear.
Gray still hadn't felt worthy of the love she gave him. He still struggled to believe he was a man who could protect her. But after everything he'd been through during the 100-Year-Quest, seeing how much she'd missed him the whole time, and his talk with Juvina-sama, he'd understood it was completely unfair to ask Juvia to wait for him to decide he was worthy enough to love her openly. He also wasn't above admitting that Juvina-sama's suggestion that she wouldn't wait forever had disquieted some irrational part of him enough to make him antsy, impatient to make absolutely sure they were exclusive.
He'd been completely flustered throughout his confession, but known it had gone as right as it could. Lucy, Levy, and Erza—who thought they'd been slick, hiding in a nearby bush to watch him confess—had agreed. (Lucy had annoyed him to no end by teasing him over how "adorable" he'd been.)
And yet...Juvia's response hadn't been quite what Gray hoped. Lucy hadn't noticed it, but he had. He didn't know exactly when it had happened, but at some point, he'd learned to read the Water Mage like an open book. For how sincere a person she was—a trait he was all too familiar with—Juvia could also be surprising, even mysterious. As transient as water, with hidden depths you'd never know a thing about unless you were willing to dive beneath the surface.
When Gray confessed, he'd braced himself for joyous screaming. He'd planned to freeze a literal flood of tears before it could wash them both away. He'd been prepared to get a concussion from how hard she'd glomp him in the street. But while she had said yes, demurely accepted the roses, and hugged him plenty tight...her response had been subdued. In hindsight, he could see the pattern her reaction fit: the way her gaze had dropped to the street despite her happy flush, the hesitant, nervous gleam in her eyes, the limited verbal response.
The only times she'd ever acted that way had been when he actually reciprocated some of her affection. When he'd promised to give her a straight answer, after he defeated END. When he'd given her a one-armed hug and said he was glad her "body" was safe, after he'd saved her from that wood bastard.
Something had been wrong. But when the girls who'd spied on him only gushed afterwards, not seeming to have noticed anything off, he'd shrugged off his concerns, assuming it was his own lack of romantic literacy. He'd been nervous, but also really excited to learn.
But as their relationship officially began...it quickly became obvious that there was a problem, and that a one-sided approach to fixing it just wasn't going to cut it.
Juvia had always been prone to mood swings severe enough to make Gray's head spin, but as soon as they started dating, her mood seemed to sink. He'd try to ask her about it only for her to put on an obviously fake, cheery front and insist she was fine.
At first, he was sure it must be his fault. He'd had no idea what he was doing wrong. At that point, the guilt he felt for not taking Juvia's feelings seriously for so long, for abandoning her in Amefurashi Village, and for nearly letting her die in an attempt to save him had been taking a serious toll on him. The guilt had sometimes left him ragged. Every time she seemed down, he beat himself up and tried to do better. Talking, dates, spending time together (even when it meant ditching missions he really wanted to go on with the team), accepting her gifts and acting happy about them (no matter how much they creeped him out).
But the more he'd tried to make up for everything, the worse it seemed to get. He watched her frustration rise as he tried to be more openly affectionate, her denials that she was frustrated getting louder. More and more, she gave, but when he gave back, she'd look ready to explode or burst into tears.
What had made everything come to a head was the sex. A surprise in itself. For all the ways their relationship had suffered, sex had never been one of them. It'd started back in the cabin they shared in Amefurashi Village. From the first night they'd moved in together, Juvia had not-so-surprisingly tried to edge her way into Gray's bed constantly. She'd use excuses of cold weather, make puppy eyes, and sew nauseatingly pink coupley bed sheets to try to lure him (when, he still had no idea).
Meanwhile, he struggled more and more to pretend he didn't find (most of) her antics adorable. Not to mention incredibly tempting. Things escalated to where he'd feel his excitement rising towards the end of their daily training sessions, to the point his body became conditioned to react when he saw the damn sun set.
He also felt increasing dread at the notion of having to turn Juvia down—and for having to sneak out in the middle of every night to "take care" of the problem she always left him with (cold showers didn't exactly work for an Ice Wizard).
Finally, one night, she'd pouted and whined that she was sore from training and begged for a massage. Gray didn't know if it was the fact she was asking him for something instead of offering; the unbelievably cute, sparkly-eyed, hopeful glances she kept sneaking at him; or the fact he could tell she actually was sore from the way her face would pinch as she attempted to stretch provocatively in front of him, but his resolve had shattered.
Before he could think and without a word, he'd lifted his covers and held her gaze, not bothering to hide the dark promise in his eyes.
Her reaction had been priceless. He'd never forget it.
His acceptance seemed to knock the breath straight out of her. Her eyes had gone round as saucers, staring into his eyes like she couldn't believe what she was seeing. Her cheeks had darkened. She'd stood stunned for so long that he'd started to get nervous, wondering if she'd only been being playful all this time, not really meaning to come on to him or maybe not expecting him to ever accept. But just as he'd been trying to field the disappointment sinking his heart and trying to think of how to promise he wouldn't do anything she didn't want, she'd hesitantly approached the bed, trembling.
After giving her the massage she'd asked for, he'd rewarded her bravery three times over.
After that, for the very first time, the dynamic of their relationship shifted in one, important way—the one which would force him to finally confront his own heart:
In terms of their physical relationship, he became the more dominant one. In this one aspect of their shared life, he chased. Gray flustered Juvia. He hadn't been able to get enough. What had once been a relentless, one-sided pursuit (one where she had, admittedly, been gaining on him without his notice) became a dance which had addicted him before he knew it.
The notion of reciprocating her feelings had once had him running for the hills. So it had been a huge shock to learn just how much he liked it.
She was so obviously happy and disbelieving that first time he slipped her clothes off in the moonlit dark, cursing over her beauty. Utterly awestruck when he'd seen to her pleasure (twice, he still liked to remember proudly) before even considering his own. Sex was the first time he heard her speak in the first-person, the first time she said his name without adding "-sama" (since that battle in the rain, anyway.)
It was when he lost himself in her soft skin, her passion, and her pleasure that some part of him was able to accept the truth she'd had the grace to surrender to from the very beginning.
The shift in their sex life was also when he'd started to twig something wasn't right between them. After Alvarez was when he'd started it back up. His plan had been to wait until he was able to reciprocate her feelings verbally, like he'd promised, but almost losing her had broken him in a way some part of him would never truly recover from. Between that and his final, full acceptance of his own feelings, there'd been no restraining himself. He'd come onto her with all the subtlety of a freight train the second they were alone.
Even then, something hadn't been quite right. She hadn't been herself, quiet enough that—even as...compromised as his critical thinking skills had been, at the time, and even in his heightened emotional state—he'd noticed. He'd pulled back and asked if she was okay, but when her response had simply been to drag him back in for a kiss that made his knees weak, he'd taken it as a yes and matched her passion enthusiastically.
She kept staying quiet in bed. It bothered the hell out of him, and he badgered her about it more than once, but would ultimately let it go when she insisted she was fine. In his defense, there had been a lot of reasons she could've become subdued. They had just fought a war. They were all exhausted from fixing the town and working to build peace in Fiore.
But after the 100-Year Quest and after his confession, she got even weirder. He noticed it all the time, in every aspect of their relationship, but it was especially noticeable in bed, when they were so close to each other, both completely vulnerable.
When they'd cohabitated, he'd almost always been the one to start something. He'd enjoyed that. He'd even (hell, especially) enjoyed the way she'd flirt, pretend to be oblivious to his advances, pout and blush and make him impress her, coax him to the brink of losing his mind before finally caving to both of their desires. Those times where he went from prey to predator had balanced their entire relationship, satisfying both of them.
Gray wasn't some slimeball who needed sex, but he did need some balance in their dynamic. The private, physical side of their relationship was just where it'd happened to play out. It could've played out anywhere in their relationship, if they were off sex for a while for whatever reason.
But as soon as they became official, it became clear she'd fight tooth and nail to make sure that never happened.
She came onto him. Every. Single. Time. He'd been a little surprised, but happy enough. At first. But as he pushed her to talk to him harder and she denied louder, he'd started to guess that something was genuinely, really wrong.
She didn't speak in the first-person when they were intimate, any more. She didn't drop the "-sama." Even worse, he started to suspect she was seducing him even when she wasn't really in the mood. Almost like she felt like she had to.
It had been one such time when he finally flipped his shit. Even now, walking behind her and appreciating her curves, the memory made his mood falter a little.
He regretted how he'd handled things. It shamed him to remember how he'd all but shoved her off him and refused to do anything else with her until she was ready to tell him whatever the hell was going on inside that crazy, watery head of hers. It was an ultimatum. A cruelly-put one, at that. He hadn't realized just how hurt and angry he was until the words flew out of his mouth.
Juvia had opened up, alright.
In fact, she'd exploded.
They'd screamed at each other, horrible things Gray could hardly stand to repeat even in his own head. She'd demanded that he quit wasting both their time and leave her again, like they both knew he would. He'd asked how stupid she could be to think he'd do that, when he was obviously dedicated enough to put up with her psycho stalker gifts. She'd retorted that her "psycho stalker gifts" didn't seem to have any affect on his libido. He'd yelled that she was the one jumping his bones, ever since he'd asked her out. She'd said that was because she actually cared about his happiness, implying that was something he'd never understand.
She'd ended the black, ugly fight with four hoarse words that ripped his heart out of his chest: "This is over, Gray-sama!"
His apartment door had slammed behind her.
He'd been too shocked and devastated to do anything but watch her go, not even managing to stagger to the door and chase after her until she was long-gone. Black curse power had swirled across his skin as he pelted to the guild, growling in frustration when he didn't find her there. Then he'd run all the way to the female dorms at Fairy Hills only to be deterred by Erza, who met him at the gate. She hadn't known anything about his and Juvia's fight, but she'd been drawn by his yelling.
His older sister figure had knocked him out "for his own good."
The next afternoon, Gray had woken up in his own bed. Not bothering to see if he was dressed (it would turn out he wasn't) he'd booked straight to the guild only to be devastated by the news that Juvia had taken a long-term S-class quest just that morning, news which was delivered by a sympathetic Mira.
Sure that it was over, that he'd ruined everything, he'd drunk himself sick—then kept drinking, swinging fists at anyone and everyone who tried to console him until, finally, in the wee hours of the next morning, Gajeel managed to knock him out of it.
The hostility, Gray had expected. Gajeel was Juvia's best friend; of course he was angry to learn that Gray had done something to upset her so much, she'd left for a Quest that could take months or even years to finish without so much as a word to Gajeel or any of their other comrades.
What did surprise Gray was the understanding Gajeel eventually showed.
Gray got his ass knocked flat by the Iron Dragon Slayer. From his back on the ground, he started to spit out what happened. With each word, the larger man had visibly calmed. After enough had come out, he'd awkwardly helped Gray to his feet (his own, gruff brand of apology.) He'd helped Gray sober up, then he'd given him a pep talk.
He'd refused to explain his own guesses as to what was going on with Juvia, insisting "who knows what goes on in that water witch's head." But he'd also insisted that whatever was going on, it for damn sure wasn't what Gray thought, which was that he'd hurt her too badly for her to love him anymore.
"She's obsessed with you," the man had said, scowling in disgust. "She's always been obsessed with you. She's way too stubborn to let it go that easy. It's annoying."
By six AM, Gajeel Redfox—of all people—had talked Gray into chasing after the love of his life. He'd even used his Iron Magic to create a lockpick which got them into the archive room, where they'd found Mira's records...and Juvia's location.
He'd barely had the time to register the irony of her quest's location before he was gone, shooting Gajeel a gruff "thanks" over his shoulder and running home to pack.
It'd been raining when he finally walked into Amefurashi Village.
He hadn't consciously known where to start looking when he arrived, but his feet—following some combination of muscle memory and the fate he'd fought for so long—had carried him to the place where the word "home" had changed for him: the cabin he and Juvia had shared. Where they'd grown together. Taken care of each other.
Where he'd left her. Hurt her. Even if most of the reason to do so was because he wanted to protect her, he couldn't stop hating himself for that.
She was standing outside the place, drenched and shivering, when he got there. As if sensing his arrival as surely as he'd known where to find her, Juvia had turned to look at Gray with eyes that were glassy above flushed cheeks. She'd wavered on her feet.
As soon as she'd whispered his name, she'd toppled. Gray's bag had landed in a puddle with a splashy thunk. He'd lunged to catch her like his life depended on it.
Shouting her name had earned him no response, but pressing the back of his hand to her forehead had been enough to convince him that she had a seriously high fever.
Strangely, as worried as he'd been about her, he hadn't even thought to bring her back to Wendy or seek a nearer healer. In hindsight, he was sure that deep down, he'd realized it would do no good; she wasn't physically ill, but heartsick, just as he was. He'd felt lower than the mud gathering around his boots.
He'd been surprised to discover that he had to break into their old home, and rapidly deduced that Juvia hadn't been staying at their old cabin even though she'd been standing outside of it, both from that fact and the fact that none of her stuff was there.
As soon as he lay her in the bed which had once been his before becoming theirs, she'd begun shivering. For the first time in his life, Gray cursed that he was an Ice Wizard instead of a Fire Wizard.
He'd run outside, grabbed his bag, then come back in—only to curse again when he unclasped the bag only to discover that all its contents were soaked. Thinking quickly, he'd stripped his wet clothes, then hers. He'd climbed into bed with her.
"'M sorry, Gray-sama..." she'd slurred her sleep. "Juvia's so sorry...Juvia had to...I just had to..."
He'd shushed her, rubbing her arms to try to warm her up. "It's okay, Juvia. I know, my love. It's okay..."
He'd kept holding her and whispering soft comfort to her until she'd finally stopped shivering, at which point his frantic worry had abated enough that he could fully admit to himself how good it felt to have her in his arms, her skin against his. How warm she was. How perfectly she fit against him. How much he missed her. She was right there, as close as another person could ever be to him. Yet with how things had been between them lately and how lost she was to fever, he'd never felt further away.
Apparently, he'd fallen asleep at some point, because when he awoke, it was to the rising sun blazing at him from the center of the cabin window. Ignoring his body's reaction to waking up in the arms of the very naked, beautiful woman he happened to be in love with, Gray had instantly dropped his hand to Juvia's forehead, sighing in relief when it became clear her fever had reduced. She wasn't better, but she was getting there.
Quickly figuring out what needed done, he'd dropped a tender kiss to her warm forehead, murmuring a threat against her sweaty hairline: "You'd better not even think of running away again, crazy woman. We are going to talk when I get back."
Gray had dressed, glanced back, and left. He'd met up with he client—a rich and unfortunately good-looking asshole about Gray's age who was way too disappointed Juvia, herself, wasn't the one who'd shown up. Through gritted teeth, Gray informed the bastard it would be a couple days before he and his partner (he was sure to emphasize those words several times) would be able to begin investigating the dark guild threatening the area, as she'd fallen ill.
It annoyed him to no end that the creep seemed genuinely concerned about this, trying to insert himself, demand to see her, and attempting to coax Gray into revealing her location (Gray couldn't help the pleasure and hope which rose in his chest, when he learned she hadn't told this guy wherever it was she was staying; obviously, she'd had no interest in sharing that information.)
The client had thrown a rich boy tantrum when Gray refused to tell him anything, but ultimately let him go when Gray promised Juvia would be there in a couple days (not bothering to mention that he would absolutely be there, too.)
He'd gone to pick up medicine and food. He'd grabbed all the ingredients he could remember for something hearty, mild, and delicious she used to make him when they lived together, a chicken stew that tasted like something he could remember from childhood. Those ingredients, medicine, ginger tea...anything he could think of that might help her feel better, he purchased, barely noting price.
Juvia had been waiting on the porch wrapped only in a blanket when he returned, flushed with both fever and anger.
They'd both been pissed at each other. While Gray locked horns with Juvia's amorous creep of a client, she had apparently been discovered by the landlord who owned their old cabin and only barely managed to talk him out of his anger, ultimately having to pay double their old monthly rent to keep him from calling the authorities—all while wrapped only in a blanket.
A brief yelling match had ensued. It ended when Juvia began coughing rather violently, Gray dropping his groceries in the mud to run to her. Even as she insisted she was fine, he'd ushered her into the cabin, forcing her to sit before he went back out to grab the food he'd bought.
Her face had gone funny when he began grouchily unloading chicken, rice, broth, veggies, and herbs. When he (somewhat defensively) asked what the hell she was staring at, she'd haltingly asked if he'd bought all of that for her. Exasperated, he'd told her of course he had, she'd had him worried sick.
The groceries had been abandoned when she burst into tears.
It had taken several minutes of heart-wrenching sobs on Juvia's part and coaxing on Gray's for the conversation to actually begin.
During their ugly fight in his apartment, she'd exploded.
Here, in the lonely home they'd once shared, she imploded.
While the groceries thawed and dripped on the kitchen counter, Juvia sobbed the whole, messy, painful truth into his chest. She told him everything. She told him how, deep down, she'd always known she wasn't worthy of having her love reciprocated by him. It had been true from the moment they'd met, when she'd been part of Phantom Lord, but remained true no matter how long she'd been at Fairy Tail. That was how she'd put it: "I always knew I wasn't worthy of Gray-sama's love." Not only because of her past, but because of how annoying she was. How gloomy. How creepy and obnoxious.
Gray hadn't even had time to express his horror at the fact she thought those things before she'd been plowing on, her tears only getting thicker and her words only making his heart sink lower.
She said knowing she didn't deserve his love had turned to knowing she didn't deserve to love him at all, when she'd killed Keyes to free Gray's father from his undead life. But even though "Gray-sama had been wonderful enough to forgive Juvia," she'd continued to hate herself, deep down.
She told him that sharing a life in the cabin they were currently in had, for her, been the sweetest kind of torture. That she'd never been so happy—and never felt more undeserving. For the first time, she told him that she'd only had one lover before Gray, some piece of shit named "Bora" who'd never cared about her or her pleasure. Gray had been nothing like him, attentive, caring, and as invested in her pleasure as he was in his own. At first, feeling so cared for had been as overwhelming as it was amazing, but by the time Gray started to pull away from her for his mission, the overwhelmed feelings had slowly begun to fade, letting her forget everything but the happiness she felt with him.
Juvia told him that the day he abandoned her to infiltrate Avatar, everything which she'd started to believe could feel right began to feel wrong, and everything which had felt wrong began to feel right. She'd never felt she deserved to be loved by Gray the way she loved him. Being left by him had, in a horrible way, made her feel like the world was how it was supposed to be.
But it had also ripped her apart.
It had destroyed any confidence she'd begun to gain in herself.
She told him that she resented being abandoned. Resented not being told about his mission to infiltrate a Dark Guild, not just because of their relationship, but because she had once been in a Dark Guild, and could potentially have helped his and Erza's Mission. She'd not only felt betrayed on a personal level, but disrespected as a Mage with no small amount of skill and experience.
It was a side to the issue which he had, shameflly, never considered.
He was mortified when she'd finally let herself chastise him for this—especially when he'd tried to defend himself by bringing up details of his mission only to be instantly struck down and ripped apart by someone who was, in fact, very obviously more knowledgeable about the inner workings of Dark Guilds than either he or Erza ever had been. Hell, Juvia could probably have run the mission almost as well as Jellal had.
For the first time, he saw just how beneficial it would have been to have her on board, despite Erza urging him not to get her involved. He should've gone against her orders, asked forgiveness instead of permission. Over the course of that one conversation, it was clear that having her on board would have shortened the length of their mission by probably several months.
But worse than the benefits they'd missed out on, in infiltrating Avatar, worse than the fact that she resented him, was her admission that she hated herself for that resentment.
She'd apologized. So many times. Too many times to count. Each apology was another crack in Gray's heart. He'd tried to ask her to stop, but they'd just kept slipping out anyway. It was like she couldn't help it.
She'd told him that over time, as she got to know the other women in Fairy Tail—Lucy, Cana, and Levy—she'd realized just how unworthy she was of the care Gray held for even just his friends. She just hadn't been forced to confront her own lacking sense of self-worth...until he openly reciprocated her feelings.
She said that the second he confessed, part of her felt wrong. Like she'd donned someone else's skin—someone who was worth being loved by Gray. Her guilt, her knowledge that she wasn't worthy of him, her bitterness, her self-hatred...all of it had come rushing to the surface.
She told him that, as unworthy as she'd felt, she'd been too selfish to reject him. Too angry at the thought of him being with someone else. Her own selfishness made her feel even worse than before. She'd been determined to be worthy of him, and so she had sought to pay every ounce of love he gave her three times over. At least.
It hadn't made her feel any better. No matter how hard she tried to be sure to pay him back, every time Gray took her on a date or made love to her, it made her skin crawl, because she didn't deserve it. She didn't deserve his love, his affection, or even his attention. He deserved better, and she was nowhere close to deserving him. She never would be.
If there had been even one last, single sliver of a doubt as to how he felt about this woman, it died then and there. Nothing—not his own guilt, being screamed at, or being broken up with—nothing could hurt worse than being made aware of what a hard time she was having. Learning just how badly she'd been dissociating during all their most precious moments. How much pain she was in. How little she thought of herself. How deep her scars ran.
He'd have given anything to take her pain away. He'd have given anything to change it. Right then, he couldn't think of a single thing he wouldn't have done to make her see herself as he saw her: the energetic, caring, fierce Mage he'd come to know. The woman who always eclipsed everything else for just a second, the first time he saw her every day.
He'd wanted to tell her all that, and more. He wanted to apologize. He'd wanted to tell her how badly he missed her after he'd left her here, that this place had been home for him, too. He'd wanted to tell her how much she meant to him, that no day without her smile even felt real, but his voice had been stuck behind a lump of misery and all he'd been able to do, for a very long time, was lay in their bed and hold her while she cried the rest of it out. He wasn't too ashamed to admit he lost a couple tears in her hair, too.
Over the twilight of time it had taken for her sobs to turn hoarse, then to whimpers, then sniffles, guilt, emotional exhaustion, an anguish washed over Gray in their turn.
Until finally, he hardened all of those feelings into resolve.
"I'm really thankful that you're here. For always being beside me..."
Those were the words Gray had said to her before Alvarez, and he'd meant them. For years, Juvia had done nothing but be there for him. Even when he didn't want her there, she stayed right next to him, quietly piecing together his heart and his trust. It killed him that the woman who'd confronted him with her love, made him face down his own weakness, always thought of him, and helped him so much more than he could ever truly thank her for had been hiding so much of her own pain. He wished she would have told him any of this all the times he'd pushed and asked.
But he couldn't blame her for that. Maybe she hadn't opened up to him before then, but her mentions of her days in Phantom and of that shithead ex of hers had driven home, with stark clarity, a realization he wished he'd made a lot sooner: Juvia didn't know how to open up like Gray had tried to demand, because she hadn't grown up somewhere like Fairy Tail.
Unlike Gray and Natsu and the others, she hadn't been taught to bare her pain, hadn't always known there would be someone to listen to her, cry with her, be on her side. While Gray had been fought, teased, and accepted for exactly who he was (more often his whole self than not) Juvia had been abandoned by every single person in her life except Gajeel and those who'd wanted to use her for their own ends. Gray abandoning her had only confirmed what she'd been taught was inevitable.
But the Ice Mage wouldn't linger on that. He wouldn't give any more time to despair.
It was his turn now, he realized. His turn to stay beside her even when it was hard, and do the work. Now, he just had to figure out how. But while he'd been trying to do that, had been gathering his words, Juvia had recovered enough to speak once more.
She'd apologized again. She'd told him that she knew this was too much, that all of this was too much...that she was too much. For the times they'd shared, she thanked him quietly, eyes bright with yet more tears and refusing to meet his as she continued that she'd had to let Gray go because she wanted him to be happy, and she'd finally, finally realized she could never do that for him, not really. Then she'd tried to push him away, and as Gray had tightened his grip, he'd realized he didn't need to figure out what to do, what to say, or how to love her.
She'd been showing him all along.
After a deep breath, the words had come low, and easier than he'd thought. He told her she was right, all of this was a lot...but also that he was so, so happy she'd finally told him what was really going on. He'd been as gentle as possible when he told her he could see how difficult and scary it had been for her to open up about all this and that he was proud of how brave she'd been for doing so, but she'd started crying again anyway, so he'd had to carry on with a shakier, hoarser voice.
He'd apologized. For everything. For not taking her feelings seriously for so long, for not seeing her when she needed to be seen, for leaving her behind and hurting her so badly she'd gotten sick. He hadn't been dismissing her abilities as a Mage so much as he'd been trying to protect her, but that was no excuse. "High-handed and cruel" was a generous way to describe his behavior, and he finally saw that. He'd told her that if he could take it back, he would. But he couldn't. He could only promise to never, ever leave her like that again, and he was more than ready to make that promise. He had been for a long time, since well into the 1oo Years Quest. If she'd only give him another chance, he'd show her.
At this point, Juvia had obviously started to twig that this conversation wasn't going to go how she planned, with Gray accepting she was too burdensome and unworthy for him and leaving her alone like everyone else had left her, because she'd started kicking up a fuss, forcing him to hold her there again.
"Let Juvia go, Gray-sama!" she'd demanded shakily, sounding like she was barely clinging to her determination. But Gray had refused. He refused to let her go like this, not until she'd heard him out.
As brief as the ensuing argument had been, it was also one of the most frustrating conversations Gray had ever taken part in (and he'd fought Natsu on basically every cock-and-bull-ass plan he'd ever come up with.)
He'd tried desperately to insist that while Juvia could be creepy and he did find rain somewhat gloomy, she was not worthless or annoying or obnoxious. He'd tried to tell her that she did make him happy. He'd tried to tell her how he felt about her.
Juvia had not responded well.
A wall had slammed up in her eyes, the same blank one he'd met on that fateful, rainy day so long ago. As she'd kept denying, and he'd kept pushing, their voices had gotten louder. Eventually, Gray had realized it was raining outside the window next to their bed again, and that was the one thing that had forced him to take a step back from his own frustration. Lucky, because if he hadn't, he might have flown off the handle and ruined everything all over again.
Looking down at her, he'd forced himself to cool off and realized he was being unfair; he was asking her to take an entire journey in one leap, to unlearn a lifetime's-worth of lessons about her own worthlessness over the course of a single conversation. No one could do that. It was an unreasonable thing to ask.
And so, when he'd finally gathered his wits and perspective enough, he'd said, "You don't have to agree with me. You don't have to agree with my feelings for you. But you have to believe that they're real...and you have to at least consider my side."
Juvia's eyes had gone wide. As they regained their sparkle, he'd refused to break eye contact. Slowly, the rain had stopped, leaving them in the silent hut.
After what felt like years, she'd shakily whispered, "O-okay."
And Gray had known that they were finally, finally getting somewhere.
Quietly and slowly, with their hands intertwined between their chests and their foreheads pressed together, they'd pieced together a fragile plan. They would stay together and be as they had been, but from now on, they were both going to make a concerted effort to be honest and rebuild trust. Gray started by admitting that missing out on Quests with his team had really started to bum him out, and while this seemed to sadden Juvia at first, she admitted after some thought that in being with Gray, she hadn't been nurturing her own friendships with her friends like Gajeel and Meredy. Lucy had also asked for help training her in Water Magic, and Juvia had declined so far even though she was interested in having someone to teach.
Gray had encouraged all of this...and he'd encouraged her to visit Porlyusica, too, when they got home. The old lady was hardly a Mental Healer, but she'd hopefully be able to help them find someone who was, someone objective and removed from the situation who Juvia could talk to openly. One thing which had sunk in fully for Gray over the course of Juvia's heartrending speech was that it was going to take a lot of time, work, and love to get Juvia to a better place. There was no way the two of them could do it alone.
They'd talked and planned until their voices were hoarse...and then they'd not talked for even longer. Juvia once again dropped the "-sama." She let him come to her. She didn't just surrender herself to him the way she had when they had each other before in their cabin, she'd given him even more—in his arms, she'd bared a small and precious part of herself Gray had never even realized she hid from him.
Over the course of the month they spent in that cabin, he'd cherished everything she gave him more than most men could've in twice the amount of time. How they'd managed to deal with that Dark Guild months and months ahead of schedule, he would never understand, because his head had never been less in the game. Neither of them had been able keep their hands off each other for more than an hour when they were alone together.
Neither had been particularly disappointed when that crotchety old landlord refused to give them back any part of their months' rent. Instead, they'd stayed till June was up breaking the place in thoroughly.
"It's payback for him being a jackass to you!" Gray had once playfully defended against her neck, pinning her against the kitchen counter and grinning as she gigglingly scolded him.
He only prayed no one ever took a UV Lacrima to the inside of that place. They'd go blind. He'd taken her on the couch, over it, against the walls, on the counters and tables, and in more positions than he'd previously known existed in that bed. When they returned home, a bunch of people had pointed out that they both looked like they'd lost weight. Gray didn't doubt it, after all the—
"...seriously, none of you know what it's like, every time we travel...OI, STRIPPER, YOU MAYBE WANNA QUIT EYE-FUCKING YOUR GIRLFRIEND WHEN WE'RE IN PUBLIC, YOU GODDAMN PERVERT?!"
The absolute last voice Gray wanted to hear when he was thinking about such great, intimate things yanked him out of his reflections in the most unpleasant of ways. An expression crossed between a scowl and a grimace consumed his features.
"Gray-sama!?" Juvia spluttered, craning her neck to peer at them over her shoulder with wide eyes. She looked half-scolding, half...affected as her cheeks went rose red.
Gray felt his own face grow hot as he turned to glare furiously at the pink-haired, disgusted-and-disgusting-looking bane of his existence.
"Would you keep your voice down, Dragon Boy?! I was not 'eye-fucking' Juvia!" His cheeks burned hotter as an elderly woman passing by shot him a deeply disapproving look.
"The hell you weren't!" Natsu snapped, drawing even more attention. "I could see all your gross, perverted thoughts right there in those droopy eyes of yours!"
"ARGH! So what?!" Gray just wanted this fight to be over, and figured that sort of admitting to what he'd been doing was the quickest way to make that happen. "Can't a guy even look at his girlfriend without pink-haired, flame-brained losers getting involved?!"
"THE HELL YOU JUST CALL ME?!"
"OH, SO YOU'RE DEAF AS WELL AS BRAINLESS, NOW?!"
"THAT'S IT, I'VE HAD IT! YOU'RE DEAD, YOU ICY BAS—"
"That's enough."
Uncharacteristically subdued and uninvolved though Erza's command was, it was enough to have both Natsu and Gray cringing and sweating in fear almost instantly.
"A-aye!" they squeaked, then sighed in relief as she shot them one last glare and clanked away.
"Ah, it always goes this way." Happy folded his little blue sausage arms over his chest and tsked. "If only Gray had kept his perverted eyes on himself, we wouldn't even be talking about this."
"And just how the heck is one supposed to 'keep their eyes on themselves', huh?" Gray growled up at the floating Exceed.
"By not being you, apparently!" he cackled back, Natsu soon joining him in his obnoxious guffawing.
"Why, you—! Get back here, you little shit!" Gray made a random grab at the little creep only to curse as he missed his tail by about a centimeter.
Meanwhile, Juvia clasped her still-red cheeks with her hands and donned an all-too-familiar, starry-eyed expression. "Juvia does not mind at all if Gray-sama...covets Juvia in public! How Juvia adores Gray-sama's passion!"
Gray flinched as if he'd been whipped in the back. In a second flat, he was blushing again. "O-oi, Juvia—!" he started, scrambling to find a way to get her to calm down before she came onto him in public.
(Again.)
"However," she continued before he figured out how to distract her, turning to look at him with a mischievous twinkle in her eye. "If Gray-sama is going to covet Juvia on a public street, Juvia thinks he should at least wear clothes."
"Wha—?! CRAP!" Gray shouted as soon as he realized he'd stripped down to his boxers. "When did that happen!?"
Juvia wrinkled her nose cutely and giggled while he scrambled for his clothes. When he was finally yanking his jacket on, he shot her a playful glare only for his lips to quirk when she winked and sauntered after Erza.
That little...she'll get it later, he thought with a huff before shoving his hands in his pockets and strolling after her. He was well aware that he was full-on grinning, now, and didn't care in the slightest.
Little interactions like that...those were the fruits of all the hard work they—especially Juvia—had done when they got back from that S-Class mission. Gray had been prepared for it to be grueling and difficult, to fight. "Relationships take work" was a piece of advice he'd heard plenty, since he started asking for advice about how to love Juvia.
But what he'd never expected to find was that, while it was hard sometimes, it was work he was all too willing and capable of doing, because it was for her. For them. And what no one had told him was that, while loving someone meant their pain became yours, it also meant that their triumphs became yours, too.
Some days had been worse than others. Even though she'd been talking to a friend of Porlyusica's and made an impressive effort to spend more times with her friends, there were moments where Gray had felt like Juvia was back at square one. But he'd been there beside her, encouraging her every step of the way while she healed, learned that he wouldn't leave her again, learned that she was worth all of it. And slowly but surely, she'd healed.
That was what no one had told him: that every time she huffed at him to do his own laundry, teased him, sassed him into taking her on a real date, and even turned him down for sex, that he would feel such a huge rush of pride and triumph.
It was true that the road had been hard, but Gray had walked it with Juvia, and that had made every step worth it.
o(O)o
AN: Ah, sorry I don't have the time to edit this now and make it more cohesive! Also that I can't publish my next chapter of Chasing Tails just yet! I definitely, definitely will come back to edit this piece one day and make it better after I've done that. In the meantime, Happy Belated Gruvia Day!
P.S.: Fun Fact! I named this partly after one of my all-time favorite fics from a completely different fandom. The Hard Road by wthtonibelle, a Kacchako fic (from the My Hero Academia fandom) which is written in a similar way and has similar themes, only it's longer and better lol. check it out if you're so inclined!
Songs I'd give to Lucy if she was a Kpop soloist and why:
title is self explanatory and some of these might just be based on vibes and sound rather than as a whole but I tried to keep it also based on the general dance/performance and lyrically aswell. idk this is just for fun because ive thought about this a bit lol ALSO i tried to keep these as soloist songs but i think a lot of group songs fit her so most of them are just group songs lol
ALSO a lot of these are nalu based but thats unavoidable because theyre very intertwined lmao
also also this ended being a longer post than i expected and i dont think anyones gonna read everything but yeah
Herione by Sunmi
I mean first of all the title is LITERALLY called Heroine like... come on. This song for me is very nalu core like whenever i hear this song the lyrics scream nalu from a Lucy POV, for me anyway. Mostly the lyrics about a hero, lucy herself has agreed that natsu is kinda like her hero in the RAVE x FT crossover little comic if you didn't know. I would said the sound kinda fits lucy its not too brooding but not too crazy and hyper and its a good middle ground that I think would suit her :)
POP! by Nayeon
Okay so I was deciding between killin' me good and pop for this list because I think they both fit her in diff ways but I think pop is better for her because its whimsical and silly and happy with a bit of cunty and that's very lucy for me <3 but in general I think both songs would work for her but anyway yes pop is very silly and fun and cute and i think thats very fitting for lucy and she would rock the pop m/v outfits
Queen of Hearts by TWICE
Okay this one is both based lyrically and vibe vise. I think it sounds like something lucy would perform its a powerful song but not too over the top and a good middle ground that would suit lucy. anyways the lyrics from the first chorus:
Tumblr media
its VERY fitting for lucy leaving her old life behind and starting new and becoming bigger and better yes yes yes and the lyrics about being a queen yes she is a queen and she will rule the world!!!
BONVOYAGE by Dreamcatcher
i loveee this song and honestly a lot of dreamcatcher songs I imagine nalu scenarios in my head to them because theyre songs are sooo catchy and fast paced I can imagine the craziest things,, anyway the reason I chose this song was mostly the lyrics i mean things like
Tumblr media
i cant explain it but this is definitely them theyre soulmates and the "maybe you dont but i love you" definitely suits lucy i specifically thought of the line in 100yq of her thinking natsu doesnt like her in that way but you know she loves him anyway and they'll be together forever in his words etc etc
Tumblr media
again i cant really explain how this is them but if i had to i would say the way theyre really close and best friends and yet have fallen in love with eachother but are hurting eachother going in circles with their relationship and not confronting their fears about losing each other either quite literally or their relationship and it's gonna build up until it explodes lol
Tumblr media
okay last part these lyrics really remind me of the ending in dragon cry when lucy tells natsu that even with the different conflicting parts of him she knows him and she knows that even with all of that hes still just natsu and its what he needed to hear and she just knew that so :)
and also other than the lyrics I think the song can be very lucy sounding,, to me anyways :D
enchanted night ~ 白夜 by Billlie
Okay after the essay on the last one I wanted to do a song that has a more simple explanation,, so Billlie have amazing songs theyre one of my favourite kpop groups and if you haven't listened to their songs they bang so hard please listen <3 anyways the lyrics are all based around of course an enchanted night with lines like "The moon is freaky, the stars are dreamy" etc etc which of course suits lucy due to the stars and such but also the moon part made me think of the galuna island arc and of course the whole eclipse gate and such so yeah! (also the song sounds soft and pretty like lucy.. (: )
Playing with Fire by Blackpink
another song based off of lyrics being very nalu i mean... playing with fire as a title is very nalu,, but also the lyrics are about going too far in love and getting hurt getting burnt etc etc which like you know that one scene in 100yq and like the whole slow burn thing they have,, its very fitting to me imo and also the sound suits lucy its again middle ground powerful but not too overwhelming to the point where its too powerful that it wouldnt suit lucy (not saying she isnt powerful she has her moments which is why i think a middle ground is good)
Queencard - G-IDLE
this might be a hit or miss for some people,, but hear me outtttt... If the Bridgertons and their spouses got tattoos, what would it be? Would any of them get couples tattoos?
I had way too much fun thinking of these, so thank you for the ask, and I’m sorry for answering it so late :)
Anthony & Kate - To me, Anthony is the kinda person who'd get a sentimental yet classy looking tattoo, and since his father was a huge part of his life, he would get something like Edmund's birthday tattooed on him (obviously, the pic gives an idea of the placement and the font and not the actual date). And as for Kate, I feel like she would be too occupied with the chaos of her past to get a tattoo before she's married, I can picture her getting a fun tattoo spontaneously once she marries Anthony. (And of course, it's a tulip.)
Tumblr media
Benedict & Sophie - Benedict would get a lot of small tattoos every now and then, but all of them would mean something to him, and they'd be super aesthetically pleasing as well. And I can picture Sophie with a really meaningful tattoo that she got before she married Ben that reminded her to keep moving forward in life. (I feel like the one in the pic fits her well because hope is such an integral part of her characterization.)
Tumblr media
Colin & Penelope - I can't picture Colin with a lot of tattoos for some reason, but I think he'd have something that ties into his fondness for travelling. For Penelope, I picked a moon because she's pretty mysterious. (And I feel like she'd have a hard time getting any tattoos because of Portia's constant judgement, so it'll be in a place that can be hidden.)
Tumblr media
Daphne & Simon- I can't picture Daphne with any tattoos. If she ever got one, it'll be super dainty like the one in the pic (she likes stars, so I think it's pretty fitting). And to me, Simon is another character that would not have a lot of tattoos. (He was pretty troubled before he met Daphne, so I can imagine him with armband tattoo that supposedly symbolises strength.)
Tumblr media
Eloise & Phillip - Eloise has a tattoo of a sun to match with Pen's tattoo, and it's a bit bigger and bolder to fit her personality. And in my opinion, If Phillip ever got a tattoo (which, for some reason, I doubt he ever would), it'll obviously have to do with nature, and I think that this one looks nice lol.
Tumblr media
Francesca & Michael - I don't think that Francesca would ever get a tattoo either, but if she did, it'll be something simple and unnoticeable that portrays her serenity. And Michael would be the exact opposite of her because he'd have a few meaningful tattoos that he got from different places he's been to. (I think that he values freedom a lot, and the flock of birds tattoo represents it.)
Tumblr media
Gregory & Lucy - In my mind, Gregory is so carefree that I can picture him with a few little tattoos that he randomly got over the years. (Some of them would have a meaning behind them but most of them would be fun and pretty lol.) As for Lucy, she's pretty uptight, so she'd think too much about getting a tattoo, but if she ever settled on an idea, it'll be placed somewhere like on a finger because she'd be able to cover it with rings. (I picked the one in the pic because it's simple and symmetrical.)
Tumblr media
Hyacinth & Gareth - Hyacinth would drive Violet crazy because she would get tattoos way too often, but I think that all of them would be modern and classy. And Gareth is quite macho and guarded, so I feel like a cool tattoo that still has a meaning behind it fits him well. (Apparently arrow tattoos are supposed to symbolise struggle and triumph.)
Tumblr media
As for couple tattoos, I feel like most of them are romantic enough to get them. But I feel like benophie and grecy are the ones who are most likely to get them. Like, does this not scream benophie? 🥺
If you were to sort the Infinity Train cast(s) into the Major Arcana a la the Persona games, which Arcana would you give everyone?
anon I had SOOOOO much fun thinking about this, thank you so much for sending me this. I sorted all the major characters, plus a few other entries, based on a mix of Arcana symbolism, Persona series character archetypes, and general vibes. I came up with answers I feel pretty good about for all but four of the Arcana. (Was really tempted to say Strength is every human character who doesn't board the train because they can handle their problems on their own lol.) This is going to be a long-winded post, so I thought I’d post just the list as an image (which hopefully won’t be too blurry!) rather than wrestle with Tumblr formatting trying to make a short list, and put a big text wall under the readmore talking more about my picks.
Tumblr media
If this list does end up illegible, the same info is under the readmore as text! Plus some characters for Magician, Strength, Justice, and Death that I didn’t want to add to the “official” list because they’re more based on headcanon. (Although my reasoning for some of the “official” picks is pretty weak lol.)
One-One as 0. The Fool
Oh my gosh, what am I?
IT is great at fleshing out character backstories and families, so One-One at the beginning of S1 is one of the few characters who really feels like a blank slate. He's got a lot of his baggage back by the end of the season, and I think One and One-One are more similar than they seem at first glance, but S1 does seem to have been very formative for One-One and how he thinks about what he's supposed to be doing and how he relates to other people. So it does kind of feel like his fool's journey.
Alrick Timmens as I. The Magician
The magician begins the journey... by beefing it on a dirt bike, dying, and sending his wife flying off the deep end. Rip.
Alrick was an engineer like Amelia, so I could see him suiting some of the themes of the Magician, like conscious thought and manifesting ideas. His apparent playfulness and insecurity are similar to the Magician characters in Persona.
Kez as II. The High Priestess
“We can’t make this decision for you, Kez.” “You know what to do.”
I thought really hard about making Kez the Magician because just like every Magician since Persona 3, she's dumb, horny, and insecure dlkjasfdkl
(and also her showing up at the start of the story arc and being helpful but also super needy is very Magician)
But the idea of "intuition" really does suit Kez. Sometimes her intuition is as bad as her conscious reasoning, but I think that's a lot because she's so confused about what happened with Jeremy, and Morgan making Kez feel like she did a bad thing by helping him.
Tuba as III. The Empress
She made me feel like I was warm all the time.
Tuba's a mom. Sorry, this one's not that deep, haha.
Simon Laurent as IV. The Emperor
Highest number! I'm the leader now.
Simon has a lot of issues, but the one that felt the most prominent to me was his unhealthy relationship with power, authority, dominance, and rules. Another quote I considered using here was what he said in Grace's memory of meeting Amelia: "I never thought I'd get to see the Conductor with my own eyes. He's perfect! Everything finally makes sense again." In his emotional crisis, he thought everything could be fixed just by the existence of a huge, scary, powerful, male authority figure, even if they weren't doing anything helpful or informative.
Atticus as V. The Hierophant
I like to think that our stones are sturdy and handsome, like the Corgis that crafted them.
Atticus is a figure of traditional authority who deeply loves the history, society, and culture of his people. He often provides spiritual wisdom and encourages Tulip to get out of her own head and engage with the world around her. Also in Persona, Hiero is the Dad Arcana so it's very funny to me (a) to make the little dog be Hiero and (b) that the little dog really does have the strongest Wholesome Dad Energy of the whole cast.
Jesse Cosay as VI. The Lovers
Don't tell me what to do. I'm not going to be a part of anything like this, on or off the train.
This was my first and easiest pick lol, Jesse is sooooo Lovers. Like, the focus on choice and personal values and relationships? Yep, that's Jesse. It works on an "actual meaning of the Arcana" level and a "vibes with the Persona characters" level lol... popular, upbeat, and having such an identity crisis.
Lake as VII. The Chariot
I'm my own person, who is getting off this train!
I don't know if Chariot captures all the ways Lake grew over the course of S2, but I feel like they had the most externally focused conflict of all the IT characters, which suits Chariot. They've been fighting to stake out their personhood from start to finish, and they took action and used their willpower to achieve that goal. Also they have at least a little jock energy which is a prereq for Chariot tbh.
Frank as VIII. Strength
I dunno, I kinda imagine him as a simple man and easily underestimated, but with a lot of heart. The Cat may say they're keeping things casual but I don't think she'd take him with her on her private vacation unless he had some kind of inner toughness that would let him stand toe-to-toe with her.
Morgan as IX. The Hermit
I need to be alone right now. Kez... maybe... we can talk later.
I like that Morgan embodies toxic self-isolation and stonewalling and rejection, but that she seems to be moving towards the positive aspects of Hermit and taking some time to calm down and process and think. I like it when characters can embody the best and worst of their Arcana.
Tulip Olsen as X. The Wheel of Fortune
We have to adapt to the changes in our lives. It's the only way things can get better.
Tulip has a lot of themes and conflicts, but this one is a clear standout as the most important. I also like it for Tulip because, while she has to handle a lot of difficult and even traumatic situations, some of the change that challenges her isn't as unambiguously bad as e.g. the death of a loved one. It really is just change itself she's struggling with, and that's Fortune babey. Also, from the perspective of the train itself and lots of other characters, by reversing Amelia and One-One's positions again and changing how One-One administrates the train, Tulip is the one giving the wheel a spin. That's fun.
Lucy as XI. Justice
One of my friends once described the Justice characters in Persona as "the ones the player character is ultimately accountable towards", and I like to think of Lucy as kind of being that for Grace (...since Hazel has excused herself). Lucy is the Apex kid we see Grace interact with the most, the first Apex kid Grace admitted to herself that she had harmed (see Grace very briefly showing distress and then regret when Jesse points the harpoons at his face and she stops him), and the first person to confront Grace when she came home in The New Apex.
Min-Gi Park as XII. The Hanged Man
I don't know if we'll sell a single album, but we'll figure that out as we go.
Min-Gi sacrifices his "realistic", "sensible" goals for a more personally (spiritually, even?) enriching life that's beyond his control and outside of the expected norm. Like the Hanged Man, who dangles foolishly upside-down, but as a deliberate choice and in a state of serenity and enlightenment. I also think this arcana suits a reading of Min-Gi's character development as starting off going slower as a way to stall and live in denial, but then going slower with deliberation. Compare his arrogant insistence on refusing to act in The Astro Queue Car to his patience and care in The Castle Car and The Train to Nowhere.
Jeremy as XIII. Death
This isn't about the death of his family - I'm thinking of his reluctance to admit his number was going down. He cared about Morgan and Kez, and it's possible both that he may have really wanted to stay with them despite his exit and that that might even have been a healthy choice - they're real ass people with feelings and everything, not holodeck characters. But I also think Jeremy was using his life with them to avoid moving on out of that fog (because it was hard and it hurt and he didn't want to think about what that would mean for him and Morgan) and Morgan was enabling him.
Ryan Akagi as XIV. Temperance
Maybe the experience is the point. I wasn't just rushing you. I was rushing myself.
I think this one speaks for itself. Also, the other quote I considered putting here, from The Art Gallery Car: "You told me I can't appreciate the song without taking in the rest of the album. I need the whole package."
The Cat as XV. The Devil
I always do the right thing.
Honestly, this is one I really wasn't sure about. The Cat isn't a great pick for a lot of the meanings of Devil. She is definitely consumed by material comforts, and the short-term rewards of ignoring her issues at a long-term cost, though. This is more of a "vibes with Persona characters with this arcana" pick... Devil characters tend to start off being somewhat exploitative or even antagonistic towards the player character, and gradually showing a more conflicted and genuine side.
Amelia Hughes as XVI. The Tower
There's a hole in the universe where Alrick used to be.
Amelia's life is defined by catastrophe and upheaval - both those she's suffered and those she's inflicted on others.
Hazel as XVII. The Star
I'm going to keep loving you like you're still here.
When I think of "The Star" as a small but inextinguishable light in the darkness, Hazel seems like the obvious choice. Although we left her deeply wounded, I think she still has a flicker of her hope, faith, and purpose.
Grace Monroe as XVIII. The Moon
But it's unfair for me to tell you how to understand yourself. I mean, I don't even fully understand me.
Grace is probably the most complex and dynamic character on the show and hence one of the most difficult to place. I considered Empress, Strength, Devil, and Judgement for her... I think ultimately, lies and illusions are the most unifying theme of her character arc. Also, from a Persona angle, her pursuit of status out of a lack of true self-worth reminds me of Ai and Mishima.
Alan Dracula as XIX. The Sun
Brought together by the majesty of a superpowered deer!
I'm sorry dkjasfklads this is largely because I thought it was funny to have this completely inexpressive dead-eyed deer as Sun akfk but also... like... it kind of works okay!!! Think about the genuine joy and comfort and positivity he brings to Lake and Jesse (and me)!
The New Apex as XX. Judgement
"Then what are we gonna be?" "Guess we'll have to figure it out?"
This is kind of a Persona mythology gag again because of Judgement being a group social link near the end of the narratives of P3 and P4, when the protagonists have pierced through the lies and actually figured out who the villain of their game is and are ready to really start making progress.
0 as XI. The World
Ah, train does it again!
It's an ending and the completion of a journey, but also the beginning of a new one. And the world is literally what the passengers receive at the end of their train journey. Welcome home.
A Supernaturally Marvelous Fic Challenge
Calling all Supernatural and Marvel fanfic writers!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don’t know about y’all, but writer’s block and lack of motivation have hit me harder than ever this year. It’s no secret that 2020 has been a giant crap show for a lot of people, but our precious fics and fandoms can be such a great escape from it all. In an attempt to spread some inspiration and feel good vibes, I wanted to make my follower celebration something that might help both writers and readers.
Below you’ll find all sorts of prompts (dialogue, songs, AUs, etc.) because you never know what might inspire you. Since we’ve all had a tough year, there’s a catch! You’ve got to give it a happy ending.
Make it fun. Make it sassy. Make it steamy. But for the love of ALL THAT IS GOOD AND HOLY please wrap it up nicely with good things and a “fluffy” bow. Cool? Cool.
Now, on to the rest:
This is my follower celebration for both blogs, so please consider following @carryonmywaywardcaptain, @carryoncaptainrogers, or both!
As you may have guessed from the title, prompts can be written for Supernatural or Marvel (extra love and virtual hugs if you choose to write about Dean Winchester or Steve Rogers because they are the loves of my life. But there’s still plenty of love for the rest of the Avengers & TFW!)
Angst, smut, crack, and fluff are all welcome, but remember to give it a fluffy/positive ending and tag the warnings accordingly (Please steer clear of smut if you’re under 18. Stay young and innocent, babes.)
No limit to how many people sign up for each prompt. Feel free to combine prompts or even combine fandoms in a crossover! Whatever gets your creative juices flowing.
Send an ask with the prompt you want to do and the pairing you’re planning to write (life gets busy, so I’ll do a reminder post before the deadline if it’s helpful for you!). Reader inserts or OCs are both fine.
Tag me in the A/N and use the hashtag #supernaturally marvelous fic challenge by December 20th January 31st. If you’re garbage at deadlines like me, I’m super flexible and won’t hold it against you if you get it done later! I’ll reblog SPN fics on this blog and Marvel pairings over on @carryoncaptainrogers so your fics are seen by the fans who need them most :)
Got another idea you want to write and/or read about? Shoot me an ask and maybe I can add it to the mix!
“When am I not wearing my sassy pants?”
“Words are hard.”
“I’ve been screaming internally my entire life.”
“Can I jump over the fence?” “No, but thank you for asking.”
“That’s not very cash money of you.” “...I don’t know what that means.” “That’s okay. I just felt like saying it.”
Stranded
request: Finally putting a request in lol! I got this idea from this tv I watched. So can I request Peter and his siblings are in a plane which crashes on a deserted island with few other people. Peter gets close with this girl and they both secretly do it! But Peter has a gf back home that he wants to break up with and Lucy finds out and shames both Peter and the girl until Peter explains he doesn’t want his gf back home he also angers the girl. But they later get back together and are still on the island.
warning: smut below the cut
Tumblr media
The black soon turned to a blinding white causing me to squint.  “She’s up!  Peter, she’s up!”  As my eyes adjusted to the sunlight, I slowly got up only to feel a hand rest on my back to steady me.
“Be careful,” a voice said.  The voice sounded like what a warm cup of hot chocolate felt like.  It was smooth, warming my body from the harsh wind.  I looked around to see a blond boy at my side, his face etched with concern.  A young girl was at my other side, her hair pulled back in a ponytail and her wide eyes studying me.  The boy spoke again, my mind comprehending his British accent this time.  “Do you know your name?”
“(Y/n),” I said, only half interested in the conversation.  My eyes wandered past the two people by my side to see pieces of metal scattered around the beach.
“I’m Peter,” he said slowly as if talking to a child.  “The airplane we were on had crashed onto an island.  Are you hurt?  Can you walk?”
“I think so.”  I slowly got to my feet, Peter helping to keep me steady.  “Where is everyone else?”  The two stayed silent for a moment.  The girl looked to the ground as if avoiding eye contact with me.
“Not many people made it,” Peter said as we approached a small group of people.  There were two more people around my age, a boy and a girl.  Also in the group seemed to be a family consisting of a mom, dad, and little girl.  An elderly couple stood next to them.  The girl locked eyes with Peter before turning her gaze to me, a small smile forming on her lips.
“I was worried you were going to sleep forever,” the girl said as she met us halfway.  “I’m Susan, Peter’s sister.”
“And I’m Edmund, their brother,” the boy who had been with the crowd said.  I slightly jumped, having not noticed the boy making his way towards us.
“And I’m Lucy,” the girl who had been with me when I had awoken said.  “I’m the youngest.”
“Is that all that survived?” I asked, my voice low as I gestured to the small group of people who had started to make conversation with each other.
“I’m afraid so,” Susan frowned.  “Here, let me introduce you to them.”
The next few days, I helped set up a camp.  Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy had found themselves in leadership over the rest of us.  It was a peculiar thing to watch.  Even the adults found themselves following what they said, nobody daring to question their authority.  An aura seemed to surround them as if they had been Kings and Queens of a prosperous nation once in their lifetimes.
“(Y/n), could you help me?” Peter called out.  I turned to see he was carrying stacks of wood.  I rushed over to him, quickly taking a few logs from his arms.  “Thanks.”
“You do realize you can make more than one trip, right?”  He chuckled.
“But then I wouldn’t be able to show off my strength.”
“You mean the same strength that required my help?”
“Ouch,” he replied, causing both of us to laugh.  I set the wood down next to Susan who had already started to make a fire.  As Peter and I stood next to each other, our fingers brushed.  I couldn’t help but feel my face warm at the contact causing me to turn away to hide it.  Surely someone as handsome as Peter had a girl back home waiting for him.
“Thanks,” Susan said as she grabbed some of the wood to feed the fire that had started to grow.  “Edmund and Alex should be back from their hunt soon.  And then we can eat.”
The dinner that night was wonderful.  Edmund and Alex had gotten lucky hunting and we ended up having a surplus amount of food for the night.  As people started to trickle into their small shelters we had made, sleep starting to pull at their eyelids after the large feast we had enjoyed, I stayed behind.  I fell onto my back in the soft sand, looking up at the glimmering stars above.
“The night sky is quite beautiful, isn’t it,” a voice said.  I started, raising my head to see who had spoken.  My body relaxed as my eyes fell upon Peter.  “May I join?”   I nodded and he sat next to me.  We sat in comfortable silence, Peter looking out at the sea.  I tried to join him in watching the sea but my eyes couldn’t help wandering to the boy sitting next to me on the beach.
“Do you think we’ll be found?” he asked, turning to look at me.  I would have been embarrassed for being caught watching him if the look in his eyes hadn’t surprised me.  Written into his blue irises was pure, unadulterated fear.
“I don’t know,” I answered honestly.
“I promised mother that I would keep them safe,” Peter said softly, looking down at the sand between us.  “What if I fail?”
“You won’t,” I said, the sureness in my voice surprising even me.  “You have done an amazing job taking care of everyone here.  Don’t be too hard on yourself.”
“Thank you.”  I inhaled sharply as Peter took my hands in his.  “That means everything to me.”  He pulled my hands towards his mouth before gently pressing his lips to my knuckles.  He looked up at me momentarily, the light of the moon illuminating half of his face and leaving the other half in the shadows.  He slowly let go of my hands before starting to get up.  “Good night (y/n).  I shall see you tomorrow.”  I watched in awe as he turned around and made his way back to his makeshift tent.
I fell backward into the sand, my eyes studying the millions of stars above me.  Not only did he look like a prince, but he acted like one too.  And as I fell asleep, with the sound of the ocean’s waves crashing into the shore, I imagined Peter and I dancing together.  Me a princess and him a prince.
The next day, I couldn’t help but notice Peter continually watching me.  As I played with Lucy and the little girl Mary, I could feel his eyes on my back.  As I helped Susan cook breakfast, my face burned as Peter stood just out of view, talking to his brother but watching me.  It wasn’t until noon when he finally addressed me.  “(Y/n), would you follow me?  I would like to show you something.”
“Of course,” I replied, hoping the excitement in my voice wasn’t too noticeable.  He smiled before grabbing my hand and leading me into the thick woods.  We were almost running as he dragged me through foliage and under trees until we reached a clearing.  He looked back at me, the smile on his face still there, before pulling me forward.  I gasped at the sight before me.  The roar of a waterfall could be heard, the water spraying my face.  The waterfall emptied into a small lake, the water crystal clear.  It was absolutely gorgeous.
“This isn’t even the best part,” Peter said.  Before I could ask what he meant, he jumped into the lake causing me to shriek as he splashed me with water.
“Peter!” I exclaimed causing him to laugh.
“Come on in (y/n)!”
“I don’t know if I should trust you.”
“Of course you should trust me.”  He swam to the edge of the lake, outstretching his arms.  I crept closer to the edge, allowing him to wrap his arms around my waist before pulling me in.  I gasped as the cold water wrapped around me.  “Don’t worry, we won’t be in here for long.”  I gave him a questioning look leading him to start to swim away.  I followed until we were at the waterfall.  He started to swim around it and I followed.  A small cave was revealed to be sitting behind the waterfall.  I watched as Peter pulled himself up before turning around to help me.
“All of that just to get into a cave?” I questioned, my wet clothes sticking to my body.  The only thing that swim was worth was to see Peter’s full form, his clothes sticking to his body just as mine was, leaving very little to the imagination.
“Kiss me,” Peter said.  Although the words were demanding, his voice was soft.  I stood frozen for a moment, unsure of how to react.  I shook off the shock before stepping closer to him and kissing him.  His warm lips felt nice after being surrounded by the cold water.  Peter’s hands desperately clung to my body, tracing my curves.  I allowed my hands to wander his body as well, feeling his chest before discovering his shoulders and then finally making a home around his neck.
He pulled away before allowing his lips to discover more of me.  I let my head roll back as he kissed down my neck.  I had dreamt of this for so long and now that it was finally happening I felt as if I were in a daze.  “Peter,” I quietly moaned as his lips traveled lower.  He had now lowered himself to his knees, his face level with my clothed sex and his arms wrapped around my hips.
“Let me worship you, my Queen,” he said, looking up at me.  My heart raced at his words and I frantically nodded.
“Yes,” I gasped, struggling to speak as Peter tore off my pants, my underwear soon following.  He pushed my legs apart, his mouth almost immediately finding my clit.  My head fell back, bumping into the stone cave wall.  His hands gripped either thigh as his tongue swirled around the sensitive bud.  “Peter,” I moaned, unable to say anything else.  My hands ran through his hair, his eyes watching my every movement.  His tongue had started to add more pressure and I could feel the pleasure growing.
I moaned his name over and over as I felt myself come undone, my back arched as Peter’s tongue wrote the spell needed to make me finish.  My knees buckled, Peter’s hands now the only thing keeping me up as I let out one last moan.  He slowed down his motions before stopping altogether.  He pulled away, gently letting go of my legs which felt like jelly after the intense orgasm.
He got up, almost immediately meeting my lips with his.  I could taste myself on him causing me to let out a low moan at the reminder of the sinful act that had just been committed.  My hands traveled to his pants, frantically unbuttoning them.  Peter assisted me and soon, I could feel his hard cock pressed against my thigh.
“Jump,” he commanded.  I obeyed, Peter catching me and wrapping my legs around his waist.  His lips played with my neck, the cave wall scratching my back as one of his fingers toyed with my sensitive clit.  “Ready?”  I nodded, not trusting my words.  I let out a gasp as he pushed into me.  I heard him let out a low groan, his face buried into my neck.  His hands were holding me up as he started to move.
We weren’t worried about keeping quiet, both because we were deep in the words and because the roaring waterfall would drown out any noise we made.  My body moved up and down with his thrusts, though I knew it would be moving even more if it weren’t for Peter’s hands holding me in place.  Each thrust Peter made was strong and consistent, making me a moaning mess.  We messily kissed each other, desperate to be connected in every possible way.  I experimentally squeezed around him causing him to moan loudly.
“Fuck (y/n),” he gasped.
“Pete, I’m so close,” I moaned, my head leaning against the wall as Peter’s face rested in the crook of my neck, placing butterfly kisses on the exposed skin.  My moans jumped an octave as I felt the first wave of pleasure crash over me.  My entire body shook and at that moment, I was very grateful for Peter’s arms holding me up.
I didn’t have much time to relish in my orgasm as Peter let me down onto the ground.  I immediately knew what to do, as if we had done this before.  I took him in my mouth, my hand stroking what my mouth couldn’t reach.  His moans had become louder, his hands pushing me to take as much as I could while he chased his orgasm.  Soon enough, I felt his cum shoot down my throat.  I swallowed the bitter liquid as Peter’s moans softened.
I pulled away, wiping off the saliva that had started to dribble down my chin.  I stood up only to be immediately pulled into Peter’s arms, his lips kissing mine gently.  I let out a small sigh as I kissed him back.
Peter and I spent the next few weeks sneaking off to the waterfall at night.  While the night was surely filled with lustful kisses and sensual touches, it was also filled with cuddles and conversation  Peter told me all about his home and I told him of mine.  We would sometimes talk about the future, imagining our lives off of the island.
I awoke to the sound of birds chirping.  “Fuck,” I said, shooting up.  I turned to Peter whose chest I had been laying on.  He was still fast asleep.  I shook him awake, causing him to grumble about needing only five more minutes.  “Pete, we fell asleep,” I said.  His eyes shot open as he rushed to get up.  I grabbed his hand as we both rushed from the cave and hoped that everyone was still asleep.
Luck seemed to be against us that day as we saw Lucy sitting on the beach, facing the woods.  “Shit,” Peter said under his breath.
“Maybe she didn’t notice we were gone,” I whispered.
“You can stop hiding,” Lucy said loudly.  I guess not.  We both walked out of the woods like two teenagers caught making love in a car.  “Are you going to tell me where you two were?”
“We were just…” I trailed off, trying to think of a lie.
“It’s not what it looks like Lu,” Peter said.
“Really?  I’ve seen the way you two have been looking at each other.  Not to mention this isn’t the first time I’ve noticed your disappearance.”  We both looked at the ground in shame.  “I can’t believe you could do this to Emily, Peter.”  I curiously turned to Peter.
“Emily?  Who’s Emily?” I questioned.  Peter looked at me, a look of horror on his face.
“She’s nobody.”
“Is that what you call your girlfriend?” Lucy asked, her arms crossed.
“Lucy, I’ve been wanting to call it off with Emily for weeks.”
“Then why haven’t you?”
“Yeah Peter, why haven’t you?” I asked.  I could feel tears starting to form in my eyes.
“(Y/n),” Peter started, his voice soft.
“Don’t talk to me,” I said, my voice breaking.  “Please.  I just,” I paused, feeling my throat start to get tight.  “I need time alone.”  I turned away from Peter and Lucy, quickly making my way into the woods.  How could I have been so stupid?  Of course, Peter had a girlfriend.  I was just someone he could fuck around with until we got rescued and then he would leave me for Emily.  All those conversations we had about the future were just lies he had told so that he could get into my pants.  I felt like a fool as I sunk to the ground, the first of many tears falling down my cheek.
For the next week, I avoided Peter like the plague.  In fact, I avoided everyone.  Susan seemed concerned at my lack of conversation.  I wanted to tell her everything that had happened but I already knew she would be upset with me.  I emerged from the greenery of the forest to find myself back at the waterfall.  I felt my chest get heavy as I thought of all the times Peter and I had spent here.  I sat in front of the lake, staring at the water deep in thought.
“(Y/n)?”  I didn’t turn around.
“Go away, Peter.”
“I know I don’t deserve it but please allow me a moment to explain myself.  If you don’t find it satisfactory, I won’t ever bother you again.”  I quickly wiped the tears that had fallen down my face.
“Fine.”  I felt him sit down next to me.
“I’m sorry.”
“Is that all?”
“No.”  We sat in silence for a moment.  I could feel my breath quicken at the closeness of our bodies.  “Emily and I had only been dating for a few months.  At first, I thought that we were going to be a perfect match.  Only, I was wrong.  We apparently had nothing in common.  Not a single thing.  I was planning on ending things with her once I had gotten off the plane.  The only reason I hadn’t ended things sooner was that I was in New York and she was in London.  I wanted to do it in person.”
“What we had,” I started.
“Is real.  What we have is real (y/n).  When I’m with you, all my worries disappear.  You remind me that life is supposed to be enjoyable.  You remind me of a time where I had been a king.”  I turned to him curiously.  “When I had something I loved with all my heart and would happily die for her safety.  And if I could, I would break up with Emily right here, right now.  Unfortunately, I don’t think the island has the best service.”  I let out a small chuckle despite my desire to keep an angry face.  “I’m sorry (y/n),” he said, his tone now serious.  He took my hands in his, just as he had that night on the beach.  “Please, give me another chance.  I promise I won’t hold any more secrets.”
“Okay,” I said, my voice barely above a whisper.  “No more secrets.”  He leaned in, our lips meeting for the first time in days.  Pure joy flooded my brain, my body thankful for the drug that had been taken from it.  He pulled away, his blue eyes looking into mine.  “If we’re no longer keeping secrets,” he said, his voice a bit lower than before.  “I must tell you something.”
“Of course,” I said, more interested than worried.
“It’s a long tale so you may want to get comfortable.  It’s a story of a world dear to my heart.  A world called Narnia.”
Right Hand Man (Loyal to the End) Pt. 7
Pairing: Damian Wayne x reader
Synopsis: You were like Talia’s daughter. The only thing was that you weren’t and instead, you had grown up in the foster care system and at a young age were taken by and personally trained by Talia. Along the way, you meet Damian and the two of you start to work side by side and eventually, after some time become closer and closer. However, when disaster in the league strikes, you face balancing an old, forgotten life as a normal child and the burden of right hand to the demon heir.
Note: I know that this is long and that there are a good number of time skips, but I didn’t want to make this into a series and just wanted it as a long fic because .... well because I can lol
Also, I didn’t want to have Damian so young in this so just go with it. I’m thinking maybe early 15 or almost 16 at the most. Idk I just don’t like writing for young Dami.
Warnings: mentions of murder, blood, brief mentions of torture but not for long
Word Count:1511
From the day that you had collapsed, it had been a week. You could tell that the few weeks you had been at the manor had done some good with trust between all parties. Even Bruce was becoming more and more tolerable. You had met Brown who was exceedingly excited to meet you seeing as there would be another girl to level the boys when Batwoman wasn’t around. You and Damian both had started your mandatory six months of training before you could patrol which was going off very well on your end. And now, you were sitting in the living room scrolling through your phone as Damian sat next to you pretty much doing the same. There was suddenly the looming of another presence in the room which caused the two of you to look up.
“I have to inform you two of a gala that I am holding to raise funds for the Gotham City Orphanage. I’m introducing the two of you then to the public, Y/N, I will not be formally adopting you at your own request but you will be included as a family friend.” Bruce explained, “The gala is Friday, starting at 6:30pm. Clothing arrangements will be made and if you have any questions, you may ask one of the boys, Alfred, the girls, or myself at any time.”
Damian merely nodded and watched you fiddle with a golden chain around your neck. He had seen it before but had never questioned it. You always seemed to avoid showing it off at all. When Bruce left though, he asked you about it.
“Is that a new necklace?” He questioned.
“Uh, it’s from my mother and father.” You answered, “Talia let me keep it. I don’t really know why though. It’s kind of like my good luck charm as strange and naïve as that might seem to you.” You pulled from under your shirt to revel a gold chain with a diamond crescent moon and star pendent, “I don’t remember it well, however, I just remember my parents giving to me. The engraving on the back is a bit corny.”
You flipped the pendent over to show a small message relaying that they loved you to the moon and stars. You rolled your eyes a bit at the message but didn’t deny it made you feel closer to them in some way.
“It is very beautiful.” He commented, “You never wore it out. I hardly remember seeing you with it at all.”
“That’s because I always wore it under my suit. I didn’t want it to be stolen under any costs.”
“I’d be surprised of any fool tried.” Damian said making you chuckle.
“I wouldn’t, however I just wouldn’t want to be the one that stole something from me.”
After some time, you had gotten up to make arrangements for shopping with Brown and Gordon. It was important to have their input on what you decided to wear since they have been to galas before and you have not. This time, you were going to a different mall with higher end stores. This was where they swore you would find an outfit to wear. You didn’t doubt them, however you were dubious of whether or not you’d like anything truly.
_______________________________________________________________________
You were sitting at the vanity that was in your bathroom getting ready for the gala along with Brown and Gordon who were at the sink doing their own makeup. You didn’t want to wear any makeup, instead under their request opting for only some mascara. Even with that, you felt entirely different. Stephanie offered to do your eyeshadow but you declined seeing as you didn’t want to look ten years older than you already were. You told her that maybe next time you’d consider but today you just wanted to get a feel for how things worked as well as be as comfortable as possible. She understood what you meant.
_______________________________________________________________________
        You and Damian didn’t leave each other side the entire night. Bruce introduced the two of you to everyone there and the prospect of talking to all the people was exhausting and by the end of the night, you were getting anxious to leave. Damian noticed you fiddling with your ring and looking for the nearest exit. That’s when Bruce brought you and Damian over to another man covered head to toe in garments that you thoughts to be more than your entire life over two times. The man smiled at the three of you walking over and loudly greeted your party. You smiled some and shook his hand, introducing yourself but not before getting a strong whiff of something that smelled like the drug they used to use on you in the league. Looking panicked, you searched for either an exit or a bathroom.
        “It was lovely to meet you, excuse me.” You said quickly making your escape to the bathroom and into a stall where you immediately started throwing up.
        Damian came in after you quickly knowing that he wasn’t technically supposed to be in there. He locked the bathroom door and went to your stall before knocking.
        “Y/N.. are you in need of assistance?” He asked.
        There wasn’t an answer from your end, instead he just heard faint sniffling which caused him to pick the lock of the stall and come inside. He hugged you from behind and held your hair back if you were sick again, the whole time knowing what caused your reaction. Bruce would have to not invite this person again if you were ever coming to a gala again.
        “I’m sorry... I just can’t-“
        “N/N, you don’t have to apologize, you had no idea or preparation for what happened.” Damian said braiding your hair back, “I’ll get you into the car without anyone seeing and you can go to sleep.”
        You mumbled an agreement and Damian texted Bruce that he was getting Pennyworth to bring the car to the back. Damian picked you up bridal style and carried you outside and into the backseat where you laid your head in his lap the entire ride. When you got showered and asleep, he stayed since he knew that you’d be having terrible nightmares all night.
_______________________________________________________________________
        You woke up the next morning with sunlight streaming in through the curtains in one of your oversized nightshirts that you had gotten with Gordon instead of some dress and heals. Damian was next to you already awake running his fingers through your hair. He immediately stopped when you awoke and sat up.
        “How did you sleep last night?” He asked, “After everything I mean.”
        “Fine... thank you.” You answered huddling under the covers some like you were almost trying to hide, “About last night, I don’t know what came over me. It was a mistake.”
        “You don’t have to take responsibility for this one Y/N. I remember what happened at the league and I know for certain that you do. No one else found out about what happened, I know you take those kinds of things hard.”
        “I appreciate it a lot Damian.” You didn’t really know what to say next but Damian started again.
        “Y/N, I want you to tell me when something like that is happening. We’re meant to protect each other, not just you to me. I c-care about you more than anyone else, we’ve known each other since we were children. I don’t want anything happening to you for the sake of reputation.”
        “I understand that.” You said still thinking about the last part he said, “I care about you too. I-I wouldn’t want to lose you either of anything like that.”
        At that point you kind of wanted to just disappear. While you were typically a lot better at words than Damian ever was, today it just seemed harder. You glanced at him for a second to see him blushing. Thinking you said too much, you started to climb out of the bed to bolt for the bathroom to take a long shower.
        “Wait, Y/N.” Damian grabbed your wrist, “I have to say this, just from what’s been happening between us recently-“
        “Damian you’re killing me with this. I like you a lot, do you like me?”
        He looked almost embarrassed with the suddenness of your question. While he was getting to that point, he wasn’t expecting you to be so forward to it.
        “I do love you, a lot.” He said.
        “Well damn it demon, kiss me finally!”
        He chuckled some and did what you said, 15 years of shared trauma and memories attached to the few long seconds it happened.
        “I’ve actually been waiting on that for years beloved.” Damian informed you.
        “So, my name is beloved now?” You commented snickering some at his comment
        “It is.” He nodded, “But, do you want to keep this secret for now?”
        “Absolutely. Only if you’re in for it though.”
        “I was actually hoping you’d say that.” Damian answered.
        “Well my love, let the games begin.” You said getting out of bed and walking to get changed and grab coffee.
Ehhh I don’t really like any of those Q’s for the Bioshock AU, so maybe just tell us a little about it? Is it based on one of the games (settings) in particular? What roles do the various Kuro characters slot into? (And anything else you want to add.)
Yeah!
So basically this is my excuse to try rewriting Bioshock Infinite, a game I absolutely adore but also really hate (if you’ve played it, you probably know why lol).
My biggest gripe(s) with it is that it tries to dip its toes into too deep in too many pools. I want to love how it ends because it’s such an interesting note that they try to surprise you with. Because it delves too deep into so many other themes though, it makes the ending feel like it came out of literally nowhere. It felt as though it had literally nothing to do with what we, the player, Booker and Elizabeth, were doing the entire time.
Another issue I had was that they tried to have interesting characters and meaningful relationships between them, but they didn’t... try that hard. Character interactions are too rushed and sudden for the most part after those first two-ish hours of gameplay.
Yet ANOTHER ISSUE, but this one’s a SPOILER (so please skip this paragraph if you haven’t gone through Bioshock Infinite yet, please): The weird message about how the world isn’t just black and white they were doing to give Elizabeth some ‘character development’. It could’ve worked, but they wanted to compare genocidal racism/classism/ableism/etc with the attempted murder of one (1) white, upper-class child and say that both sides were in the wrong. That could’ve been done... a lot better.
I also recently reblogged a post that explains another reason why the game is disappointing way better than I ever could here if you don’t mind spoilers.
So really, this is a rewrite of Bioshock Infinite attempting to fix what could’ve been a really amazing story, in my personal opinion. I could have very easily done this while using the same characters, but I wanted to also give myself a challenge and throw in completely different characters to fill in the roles of the main cast (+ I’m a kuro blog that hasn’t done a very good job contributing to the fandom so far). So, this is a crossover au.
Roles:
Sebastian: Booker Dewitt
Main character #1.
He’s launched into this situation because he was paid to do it. Or, at least he was promised payment to do this. Go to Columbia, find the boy, and bring him back to wipe away the rest of his crippling debt.
Depressed, impatient, streetsmart, and a former alcoholic. He’s been around the block and knows his way around conflict.
Also an absolute badass, as to be expected. Plus, look, they have suspicious marks on the back of same hand ;)
Tumblr media
Ciel: Elizabeth
Main character #2
Coy, sarcastic, and booksmart.
The boy trapped in the tower all his life, being observed without consent because he has something nobody else has. He’s dangerous, but he doesn’t know that yet. He doesn’t do much in terms of socializing anyways, so of course he’s going to freak out when this random man breaks through the roof right in front of him.
He just wants to go to Paris, man.
Circus crew, the servants, and mayybbeee Lau and Ran-Mao: members of the Vox Populi
They all have their reasons to fight for what’s right. Forced to go into hiding or work in inhumane conditions just to survive in the floating city of Colubia, everyone here has the motivation to throw a stone at the 1%.
Agni and Soma: Daisy Fitzroy
Because they come in later, I’m still contemplating a bit on this. Daisy Fitzroy is probably still going to be in this au, but Soma and Agni are going to fill in her story role for the most part (in terms of interacting directly with Ciel and Sebastian).
Reaper GANG: The Luteces
Kinda like how they are in the manga, they’re oddballs that only pop up when they’re needed and typically leave Sebastian and Ciel with more questions than answers. They obviously know more than they’re letting on.
Vincent: Zachary Comstock
A self-proclaimed profit and founder of Columbia. He leads what looks to be a paradise from an outside perspective and he is a man looked up to by all.
Totally not a cult leader.
Undertaker: Jeremiah Fink
Vincent’s right-hand man. He’s the one behind most, if not all of the technological advancements here on Columbia. To add the cherry on top, he’s a job giver to those poor, unfortunate souls who don’t belong in the floating city.
This is an au that I want to try getting people who are both familiar and unfaliar with the game to be interested in, so I’m kinda excited to see who reads this. I’m excited about the feedback I can get from this, so I can improve my writing.
Because it’s been a while since I put this au aside, I’m currently going back over the first chapter or so and trying to clean it up. This is the first fic I’ll be posting in probably 5-6 years. I’m rusty. Please be patient with me. ;u;
pspsps I commissioned the lovely @luci-on-the-moon quite a while ago to get a feel on what Ciel and Sebby would look like in this au. Find it here, check it out, and give them the attention they deserve. <3
Sam had been just shy of his eighteenth birthday when he first met Y/N. He'd been a quiet, awkward stringbean of a teenager back then, lacking in confidence and social skills, his nose usually stuck in a book.
John wasn't around much anymore, if at all, but he always remembered Sam's birthday. Especially a big one like eighteen. So, maybe he had the exact date wrong, but he was close.
"You're gonna love this, Sammy," John beamed, marching Sam up to the house with the bright red door. "Don't say I never did anything nice for ya."
"Sam."
John's neck nearly snapped as he whipped around to eye his son. "What?"
Hazel eyes stared back defiantly. "It's Sam."
John grit his teeth and held his tongue as he knocked on the door. "You know, I'm trying to do something nice here, you can-"
A beautiful woman with red lips and matching nails opened the door, smiling up at the familiar face of Sam's father. “John, so nice to see you.” Her voice was like a song, and Sam would never forget the moment her pretty eyes flickered over his face. "And you've brought a friend…"
They talked all evening. Y/N fed both father and son, plied John with enough red wine to keep him docile, and stole Sam away to sit with her in the garden.
The sky was dark but the patio was lit with fairy lights and glowing orbs that sat on stakes amongst the flowers. Vines and lush greenery created a secret hideaway in the backyard, one where you could be safe from prying eyes from neighboring houses.
Y/N led young Sam by the hand to a wrought iron bench in the back, its curling edges and lacy design echoing the flora. They sat under the moon, holding hands and breathing in the sweet jasmine that bloomed around them.
Sam had so many questions but nerves and respect kept them bottled inside. Y/N obviously knew John, and judging by their familiarity, knew him in the biblical sense, and John had never said it outright, but Sam knew he was giving him Lucy as a birthday gift. Was she a prostitute? A very open-minded girlfriend? Had John saved her life once and Y/N felt like she owed him something? Sam couldn’t bring himself to ask.
Y/N smiled kindly at him and snuggled close, her shoulder pressing into his, fingers wound tightly in his.
“Listen, Sam,” she said gently, “I know John brought you here for… well…”
Sam blushed painfully and looked away.
“No, no,” Y/N soothed, grabbing his chin to turn his eyes back. “It’s OK. We don’t have to do anything tonight or ever.” Sam calmed at that and smiled nervously. “I just want you to know that, if you ever need me, I will be here.”
Sam started to speak but nothing came out. It didn’t make any sense for this beautiful woman to open her home to him, to John, to anyone. What was the deal?
“If you ever need a safe place to crash,” she went on, “My door is open to you. If you ever need a shoulder to cry on or a warm body to occupy your mind, I will be here for you. All I ask is that you don’t discuss what we do or who I am with anyone else.” She paused to smile, searching his eyes for acceptance. “And I will do the same for you. No one will ever find out that you visit me. That will be our little secret.”
A flood of peace washed over him in that moment; something warm and beautiful that he would never be able to describe. It flowed like the moonlight down over him, from the top of his head to the tips of his toes, and Sam’s insides bubbled with happiness.
He leaned forward and kissed her.
She smiled and kissed him back.
The night blooms seemed to swell around them, pulsing like the fairy lights as they sat alone in the cool night.
Tumblr media
Y/N stepped onto the patio bricks, her bare feet tingling at the coolness of the slate.
The sun had long ago set and the jasmine was blooming, filling the breeze with the intoxicating perfume.
Sam waited for her on the bench, long legs stretched out in front of him, hands clasped behind his head, relaxing in the garden.
“Haven’t been back here in forever,” he said with a soft laugh as Y/N approached.
“You’ve been busy,” she answered, offering him a tumbler of whiskey.
Sam sat up and reached for the glass, their fingers brushing as he took it. “I missed you,” he said sadly, stress from the last hunt creeping into his words.
Y/N smiled and sat down beside him, her white skirt billowing like a cloud around her bare thighs. “I missed you too, Sam. I always miss you.” She lay a small hand on his knee and Sam covered it with his own, wrapping his long fingers around hers.
He sighed and took a long drink, ignoring the burn as the whiskey stung his throat.
“You wanna talk about it?” Y/N asked, resting her chin on his flannel clad shoulder.
Sam shook his head and lifted her hand to his lips. “No. I just want to be here with you.”
"Anything you wish, Sam."
Her voice was gentle, the tone true, and Sam turned to look at her, tossing his arm around her shoulders to pull her close. He tipped her chin upwards with one finger and gazed deeply into her eyes.
"You're absolutely serious, aren't you, Lucy?"
Her brows creased as if the question confused her. "Yes, Sir. Anything you wish."
“Anything?” he teased, still holding her head in place.
She smiled coyly and spoke slowly, exaggerating the letters with a swipe of tongue against her teeth. “Anything.”
Sam hummed and clenched his jaw as thoughts filled his mind. “Stand up,” he commanded, all emotion gone from his voice, replaced by the harsh tone that made Y/N’s body quiver.
“Yes, Sir.”
She stood up immediately, taking her place in front of him, her back straight, feet planted, head bowed, hands behind her back. The hem of her dress swayed in the wind, but Y/N moved not an inch.
Sam bit back his smile. His eyes left her curves for a moment and scanned the night sky. A few of the neighbors still had their lights on, a blue flash of television rays here and there, but mostly it was calm and silent.
“Take off that dress,” Sam ordered, knowing she was naked beneath it like a good girl.
Y/N carefully lifted the bottom of her dress and pulled it up and off, dropping the flowing fabric at her feet and standing still in the cool midnight air. The garden walls were high, but anyone in a nearby house on a top floor could see her, moonlight making her nakedness glow in the dark.
“Play with your tits.”
She pulled in a quick breath as she cupped her breasts, kneading them gently as Sam watched on.
“How does it feel to be exposed like this? Out in the open, touching yourself for me?”
Y/N swallowed hard and pinched her nipples, sending shots of arousal through her body. “Feels so good, Sir. I want to be a good girl for you.”
Sam sat forward, elbows digging into his knees. “Oh, but you are, Lucy. Such a good girl for me, always.”
“Thank you, Sir.” She dared a smile but kept her head bowed.
Sam licked his lips and let his eyes drift downwards. “How’s that pussy?”
“Throbbing,” she answered mekely.
“Good.”
He kept her there for a long while, watching as her body began to shake slightly, her hips start to roll a bit, her fingers work a little harder. When Y/N bit her lip and whimpered, Sam put an end to her torment.
“Come here,” he said firmly, patting his lap as he sat back.
Y/N rushed forward and straddled him, her ass high on his knees as he bounced her into place.
“Now, let’s see how nice and wet you are.” A hint of a grin passed his lips as Sam’s fingers caressed hers. Y/N gasped as his middle finger pushed between her folds, sliding slowly back and forth over her slit. “Very wet,” he reported happily. “Very good.”
“Gotta stay w-wet and ready for you, Sir.” Y/N’s voice was failing as Sam rubbed her pussy, teasing her with infuriatingly slow and featherlike touches.
Sam smiled and pushed his finger deep inside. “That’s right.” He watched as Y/N’s head fell back against her shoulders, eyes rolling as he pushed into her. “My perfect girl, always so ready for me. Even out here in the open where anyone could see.”
Before she could reply, Sam slipped another finger inside and her entire body tensed up beautifully. There was a specific joy Sam took in watching her squirm, knowing the little jerks of her lips or shuddering breaths were because of his hands. He loved the way her eyes went dark and misty, her nipples hard and dusky, cunt pulsing, all because of his control over her. It was delicious and intoxicating, better than any drug or drink or love spell. All he needed was Lucy.
He pumped his hand a little faster and added a third finger, squeezing himself inside her tight canal.
“Do you remember the first night we sat back here?” he asked, musing over their first meeting. “It was so warm, so perfect. You were perfect.” Sam sat forward and sucked her left nipple into his mouth, making her moan loudly.
“Fuck, Sam…”
He bit down on her flesh as he pulled back, leaving her wet and tingling. “Always so perfect,” he went on, fucking her with his hand, carefully watching her face twist with pleasure. “That was the best kiss of my life, babydoll; you and me, here in the flowers, under the moonlight… I’ll never forget that.”
Y/N was out of breath, rolling her hips against his hand, desperate and whimpering. “Was...perfect,” she managed, biting her lip to hold in a scream as Sam tapped her clit with his thumb.
“It was. Just like tonight.” He rubbed her fast, still thrusting with his fingers, her slick heat dripping down to coat his hand and wrist.
The moon beamed down upon her, highlighting his wet kiss on her breast, the sheen on her lips. She pouted pathetically and grabbed his wrist, begging silently to be released.
“What do you need, babydoll?” he asked, knowing full well what she desired.
Her voice cracked as she struggled to answer. “Need...need to cum, please. I wanna cum for you so bad, Sam.”
He pushed forward and dropped a kiss on her shoulder, moving upwards as she lengthened her throat for him, tipping her head to the side. He nibbled on her pulse and sucked hard at the soft patch behind her ear, all the while rubbing and thrusting her sloppy cunt. When he reached her ear, Sam gave the dangling lobe a kitten lick and whispered, “Cum for me, Lucy.”
She shuddered on his hand, thighs shaking, hands grabbing, holding onto anything she could reach. Sam kissed her cheek and across, finally pulling her attention to his tongue as it slid between her lips. She shivered as the orgasm quelled and kissed him back, her hands rising to tug through his long hair.
“God, Sam,” she laughed, cunt still clenching his fingers. “You make me feel so good.”
He smiled and pecked her lips before pulling his hand away. “I’m glad.”
Hands clasped behind his head, Y/N smiled down at him, licking at his lips every now and then as she marveled at the moonlight dancing in his eyes. They were dark, almost fully brown in the light, picking up a hint of green from the ivy in a few spots.
“I’m very glad John dragged you here that night, Sam,” she whispered, knowing how invoking his father’s name usually made him surly.
Sam sighed and kissed her cheek before pulling her to lay against his chest. “Me too, Lucy,” he agreed. “One of the best things he ever did.”
Mirror’s of the Soul
Hau’oli la Hanau!  Happy Birthday!  @dark0angel13  Hawaii misses you ;)
Based on the folklore of a “dog-man” in Hawaii called the Kaupe.  Spun to be a werewolf AU lol, but with a twist.  The Kaupe was used in the DC tv show Legends of Tomorrow.  It was pointed out to me that Lucy’s character reminded them of character from Witcher 3 as well lol.
~~~~~ Nalu AU one-shot
Lucy had heard the wild rumors of the dog-man of Nu’uanu Valley, but she chalked it up to Hawaiian folklore.  These islands were full of such supernatural tales, and as a transplanted college student, seemed more like ghost stories intended to keep children from misbehaving.  She hadn’t heard of any actual werewolves confirmed in the last few centuries, and this was probably not a real case.  As far as she was concerned, superstitious hocus-pocus wasn’t going to keep her from hiking in the valley.  It’s lush rainforests, waterfalls, or Pali cliff overlooks were stunning, especially near sunset or sunrise.  A slice of nature surrounded by a growing metropolis.
While the professor droned on at the front of the lecture hall, one of her closest friends slides into the seat next to her.
“You’re late Natsu,” she whispers, “class started 20 minutes ago.”
“Did I miss much?” the young man retorts.  Lucy shakes her head.  “Then I’m not late at all,” he grins back.
She rolls her eyes but can’t help a chuckle from escaping.  “Got any plans this weekend?”
“Tomorrow yeah,” he shifts in his seat, “but should be free Sunday.”
“How about you take me on a Dave ‘N Busters date Sunday so I can kick your ass at RD again.”
“You’re on!”
The next morning, Lucy awakens to perfect outdoor weather.  Balmy breezes lightly shifting her curtains and blue skies as far as the eye could see.  It seemed her roommate hadn’t made it back to their dorm in the night, probably staying the weekend with her boyfriend off campus.  Lucy sighs, and turns on her bed facing the window, maybe one day she’ll be able to do the same.  Yeah sure, Hell might freeze over before Natsu saw her in that way.  He was the best of friend that any could be, but no matter how many times she threw subtle hints or flirted with him, it all seemed to go right over his head.  Oh well, the times they spent together sufficed, but for now the valley was calling her name.
Not only did she like simply being surrounded by the peace and tranquility the forest could provide, it also served as a perfect, distraction free place to write her stories. Notebook, extra pens, fully charged laptop, trusty outdoor blanket, lunch, and ready to go, she ascends the Lulumahu Falls trail.  It was only a 2-mile hike round trip, but unlike some of the other trails in the area, this one cut through a bamboo grove and wasn’t one of the official paths.  As such, traffic tended to be lighter with fellow hikers opting for the maintained trails instead.
She reaches the end of the line and finds a shady area with large flat boulders to sit on.  Thank goodness for the recent sunny weather.  The trail had been mud-free, humidity was lower, and the air was crisp.  Lucy takes out her laptop, balancing it on her thighs and gets to work, letting the sounds of the forest send her into a rhythm.  Her words flowed forth like the gentle burbling of the nearby stream of the same namesake.  Hands gliding across the keyboard like the chirping birds around her.  Every now and again there was a crackle of a falling branch, or footsteps of a fellow nature seeker, but she paid these no mind, her characters keeping her enthralled.
It was great when ideas came to her so easily.  The infamous writers block plagued her from time to time, but not today, and it wasn’t until the light was growing dim that she realized how long she’d been in the writing zone.  Oh crap!  It may still be warm for fall, but the sun also set quicker in these later months.  She checks the time on her phone and guestimates another hour tops before she needed to get out of there.  Alright, this chapter was almost finished, she could make it!
She didn’t make it.
And by the time she’d stumbled into what she assumed was the Kaniakapupu Ruins, it was dark, cell phone coverage was nil, and it was growing a bit chilly.  Thank goodness for her blanket!  Lucy had two options, keep trying to find her way out through unmarked trails and risk getting more lost, or staying put until morning.  The clear skies were in her favor and the bright harvest moon chased away some of the darkness.  She groans and finds a decent rock to plop onto, guess she’ll just hunker down for the night.
About a half mile away, deeper into the Nu’uanu valley, something catches the scent of the lone female, but that wasn’t good, for he recognized the scent.  ‘What is she doing here and on this night of all nights?!’  He came here to hide during this phase of the month, an ancient calling against his bloodline to guard the heiau of Kaheiki.  Legend has it, his ancestor had impregnated a human female shortly before being killed by a chief from the island of Hawaii, and to atone for that progenitor’s misdeed’s, a descendant was born as a Kaupe every hundred years or so to guard the heiau of the priest that helped to stop it’s rampage.
A thousand years later, it was Natsu’s bad luck that this curse fell upon his generation and with puberty came the confirmation.  He tried consulting the most knowledgeable kahuna’s and priests he could find in the hopes of breaking the curse, but they all told him the same thing, this was his ancestors atonement and only the gods could see fit to change that.  Yeah, well his family had been punished enough for something they hadn’t even done.  It wasn’t fair in this modern era to keep suffering like this.  All he wanted to do was settle down some day like a normal person, but who would want a freak like him?
Natsu’s worries were confirmed the moment he crept up to the ruins and sees Lucy sitting on a rock all bundled up.  With his keener eye sight, he can see her hiking back pack near her feet and puts two and two together that she must have gotten lost.  He could only imagine how cold she must be with nothing more than a light blanket to stay warm with.  At least his fur helped with that, but it was still another 10 more hours before the sun will rise.  Natsu paces as he weighs his options.  Great, so what should he do?  He couldn’t leave her all alone.  But if he made his presence known it might scare the wits out of her.
He fails to realize that Lucy is now staring in his direction.  It was strange at first the mixed scent of Natsu and canine.  She couldn’t see him through the darkness but knew he was out there somewhere, but putting the clues together and it wasn’t a total shock.  Lucy groans internally at the irony.  The man had been keeping a secret, though she was no better.
“Natsu,” she lets out an exasperated exhale and stands up.  “You might as well come out I know you’re there.”
That was impossible!  How could Lucy know that he was there in the first place, and second, he wasn’t some random person!  He hears her sigh.
“Natsu, I can pick up on your scent, now please just come out.”
With a lot of trepidation, he steps beyond the tree line into the clearing.  “Lucy… but how??”
“Just come closer,” she sits back on her rock, “we both have a lot of explaining to do.”
Okay things were getting a little weird, and considering he was the werewolf, to think this was all really strange was… Weird!  No one outside of his family had ever seen him in this form because he’d done well to stay completely hidden from humans, and even though clearly this woman knew it was him, Natsu was still hesitant to let Lucy see him for what he was.  It was also a bit unnerving how unfazed she seemed to be.  He finds a fallen log about 10 feet away from her and sits down on the edge of it.  If he needed to take off again, it would only take mere seconds to do so.
Lucy adjusts the blanket around her body, then props her head with her hand against her knee.  “I assume you are confused?”  Natsu nods.  “Back home, my family hails from a long line of hunters…. Creature hunters.”  She tips her head, “I remember my mom telling me how my great, great, grandfather immigrated to America to establish a line of Heartfilia’s in the new world.  I think it’s silly and I moved here to get away from it all because I didn’t want to continue the tradition.”  An exasperated sigh escapes her lips.  “How ironic that I run into one so easily.”
“That still doesn’t make sense.  How did you know it was me?”
She taps her nose.  “I can track.  Look I know it seems strange, and it’s not normal for a human to do that so easily.  How do I explain it…  Somewhere in my family line, an ancestor was imbued with a few abilities.  I can’t see in the dark, which is why I’m stuck here, but an enhanced olfactory system allows me to detect scents, especially inhuman ones.”
“And, what do creature hunters do exactly?” his voice filled with an air of hesitancy.
“In the old days, they hunted to kill.”
Natsu tenses up and leans back, “should I leave?”
Lucy just waves her hand, “I came here to Hawaii to get away from that life.  Just wanted to be normal, ya know, but it seems I can’t run away from it either.”  She shivers as a breeze funnels through the clearing.
“Are you cold Lucy?  I’m sorry I don’t have a jacket or anything and I can’t leave the area till morning.”
“Why not?  In fact,” she pats the area next to her, “come closer and tell me your story.  It’s only fair since I shared mine.”
“I--I really don’t like anyone seeing me like this, you’re the first outside of my family to.”
“I’m not gonna hurt you and I don’t care what you look like.  I know you’re still you.”  Natsu shakes his head.  “Suit yourself.”  Lucy stands up, gathers the blanket around her and trudges over.
“Wait, what are you doing!” Natsu scrambles to his feet, tripping, and falling backwards over the log with a thud.
She rushes over to help him up, “Are you okay?!”
He rubs the back of his head, “I’ve got a hard head,” he winces, “more my pride that got hurt.”
Lucy chuckles, “see,” she pulls him to his feet, “should’a just stayed still.”
After getting him to come back to the rock with her, Lucy pulls her feet into a cross-legged position. “Alright, now spill.”
With a deep exhale, Natsu lets the words flow.  Everything he knows about his family, the curse, and what it’s like to be a Kaupe….
All the while Lucy sits quietly not wanting to interrupt him.  She’d heard other tales of werewolves, old legends and such, including the idea of a curse causing the transformation.  Though this was the first time she’d heard of a curse carrying on through a bloodline before.  Guess, there is a first time for everything.  The tale he told was heartrending.  Their family’s ancestor may have been cursed because of a cold-blooded killer nature, but the man sitting next to her was nothing like that.  Natsu would give you the shirt off his back if you were in need and he always made her feel safe, especially at night.  If only there was a way to break the curse.
Having determined for herself what kind of soul lay behind his Olivine hues, the longer she stared at him, it occurred to her that Natsu… wasn’t that bad looking in this condition.  Hawaii didn’t have wolves so did that make him more of a Weredog?  Not that she truly knew what a werewolf or weredog was supposed to look like since old tales differed on appearance.  Some depicted them as more human with canine features, others as more canine-like and barely human anymore.  Almost all of the stories described large fangs and claws dripping with blood, no ability to discern right from wrong or with any human consciousness left.  Boy were they wrong in this case!  Natsu was fully aware of himself and more scared than she was.
His human fangs did look a bit longer than normal, his eyes still green but more canine-esque, with claws on his fingers and toes.  Tufts of fur covered the parts of his body that she could see, but he wore a t-shirt and baggy pants, so it wasn’t much.  A tail was definitely coming out of his lower back with pointy ears growing through his pink head hair.  Lucy tips her head, those ears were really cute!  She wondered what he would do if she rubbed them…
“Ahem.  Are you even paying attention anymore?!”
“Huh?”  Lucy shakes her head.  “Sorry,” her face flushes and she’s glad it’s too dark to see it.  “Curiosity and all.”
“I can’t let you touch them, so don’t even think about it.”
“Touch what?”
Natsu rolls his eyes, “my ears that you’ve been staring at for a solid 5 minutes.”
“Oh, why not,” she pouts.
“Because they are sensitive.”  Okay that was a semi-lie.  They were sensitive but rubbing them made him feel good in a provocative manner.  “So, as I was saying, we have no idea how to break the curse, no one in the family ever knows who in the next generations will become the next one, but it usually happens when the current Kaupe is close to death.”
“Is this why you’ve never tried to make a move on me?”
Well that was blunt!  “Um, I guess, yeah…” he scratches his head, “wh-what makes you think I would have?”
Lucy shrugs her shoulders a little sad by his response, “wishful thinking, I guess.  Anyways, don’t worry, your secret is safe with me Natsu.”
“Y-you know Lucy,” he averts his eyes to the ground, “if I had… asked… what would you have answered?”
“Yes,” she turns his chin back and smiles, “I do like you, if that wasn’t already obvious.”  Chuckling, “I just figured you only saw me as a friend.”
He takes a leap, “what about now, even after knowing this about me?”
“Hmm,” Lucy leans against him, resting her head on his furry shoulder, “the huntress and the werewolf,” she chuckles, “it sounds like a movie plot, but,” she looks up and smiles, “yeah, I’d still like to be your leading lady.”

celebrity crush ; ben hardy x reader
Tumblr media
“hyyy could you write some fluffy ben x reader where she is also an actress (like reaaally famous) on bo rhap and they are all doing an instagram live on her profile and ben is sitting next to her and looking at her all 😍😏😩💦 and everyone is commenting about him and they ship them and later that day they all tag them in screen shots of him looking at her like that and then he decides to confess it lol thank youuuu LOVE YOUR BLOG BTW” - Anon
Warnings: Mentions of drinking, some swearing
A/N: thank you so much for sending this in, anon! hope you don’t mind that i made slight changes. happy reading! 💓
You and the rest of the BoRhap cast were currently in the living room, just relaxing and hanging out. Filming just wrapped up, and you were happy and somewhat sad at the same time. Happy that filming was finally finished, sad because you only had limited time to hang out with Ben your friends.
Being a long-time fan of Queen, you were over the moon when your manager told you that you were casted in the movie. Even though it wasn’t a major role, you wouldn’t miss a chance to be part of a movie about your favorite band of all time.
So, you were cast as the Miami’s assistant, who has worked with Queen for as long as he did. Brian and Roger even told you that they considered her as a fifth member, because she would make amazing suggestions whenever they recorded songs, and literally served as the support system of the band through their shittiest times, so they really thought of her as family.
Brian even told you that Roger had a really tiny crush on her back then, like they would flirt a little sometimes, so you weren’t surprised when she visited the set and reunited with the two of them, Roger was almost stumbling with his words.
He was even more shocked, along with Brian, when they finally saw you in costume, seeing as you were literally the spitting image of her.
Okay, back to the present.
You were currently on the couch, sitting beside Ben, who you’ve grown to have feelings for throughout filming. Don’t get me wrong, you’ve always liked Ben, especially his performance in X-Men: Apocalypse as Angel, who you thought he was extremely hot.
Being a fellow Marvel actor, you almost had the chance to meet him. But, you were part of the MCU cast, a different cast, so it didn’t really happen to your dismay. So, when you found out you were both cast in BoRhap, you couldn’t wait for Infinity War to finish filming so you could finally meet your long time celebrity crush Ben.
Quietly sipping on your drink, trying to ignore the close contact you had with the blond, you looked over to Joe, who was picking out a song for karaoke until he finally chose Purple Rain by Prince.
“Look, it’s your song,” You joked as you gently nudged Ben, gesturing towards Joe, who, you were positive, was already a little bit tipsy. Ben let out a soft laugh, “Can’t wait for this.”
Laughters erupted in the living room when Joe finally reached the chorus. Yup, he was more than just tipsy. You immediately pulled your phone out and went live on Instagram. “Hey, guys,” You greeted, trying hard not to laugh.
(y/n)ismyqueen: “OMGGG THE QUEEN IS LIVE”
ilove(y/n): “WASSUPPP ❤️”
idontwannagomrstark: “IS TOM THERE”
benmakesmehardy: “is that ben?????????”
You pointed the camera towards Joe, who was already kneeling on the floor, singing his heart out. You continued to record Joe who was channeling his inner Prince until he finally ended, dropping the mic on the floor.
Everyone in the room cheered, until Joe saw you recording, immediately running to you, “I swear to god, (Y/N), if you post that,” You chuckled, showing him in your live, “It’s on live, Joe.”
joemozzarella: “OHMYGDOG I WISH JOE SANG TO ME LIKE THAT”
(y/n)ismyqueen: “HIIII JOEEE ❤️”
benmakesmehardy: “ohmygod i love this cast”
ilove(y/n): “I STAN !!!!!!!!!!”
Joe shrugged, “Nevermind, everyone already knows I’m fabulous,” You chuckled, while Ben playfully rolled his eyes at your tipsy friend. “By the way, here’s Rog- I mean, Ben,” You joked as you moved the camera towards the blond, him shooting the camera a wave and a soft smile, which made your heart flutter.
You continued the live, Ben still by your side, answering some questions from your fans.
(y/n)ismyqueen: “PLS TELL US U DIDNT REALLY DIE IN INFINITY WAR OMGGMOMOG”
ilove(y/n): “I WILL LITERALLY SNAP THANOS’ NECK IF YOU REALLY DID”
idontwannagomrstark: “LEAK THE TRAILER”
You laughed at the comments, “Oh my god, guys,” before placing a finger on your lips, “Can’t say anything, Marvel might fire me,” Ben chuckled along with you before saying, “No, they won’t, you’re too amazing to get fired.”
Your cheeks blushed deep red at his comment, so you just laughed it off as a joke, but, your followers thought otherwise.
(y/n)ismyqueen: “OH MYGOD BEN ❤️❤️❤️”
benmakesmehardy: “WHEN WILL THESE TWO GET TOGETHER THE CLOCK IS TICKING SWEETIES”
hardyx(l/n): “I LOVE MY PARENTS”
ilove(y/n): “I want someone to look at me the way Ben looks at (Y/N) 😍😍😍”
Too busy looking at the comments, you didn’t realize that the blond beside was already staring at you, enamored, with an affectionate gaze.
hardyx(l/n): “GUYS GUYS LOOK AT BEN AWWWWWW 😍❤️”
benmakesmehardy: “IDK IF SHOULD I BE IN LOVE WITH (Y/N) OR WITH BEN”
(y/n)ismyqueen: “IM LITERALLY BEN”
joe_mazzello: “can you two just get together already i can feel the tension in the room”
mrgwilymlee: “I second that”
ramimalek: “Third”
lucyboynton1: “Fourth”
therealleech: “Fifth”
brianmayforreal: “Sixth ! Bri”
rogertaylorofficial: “Seventh”
If it was possible, your cheeks blushed even more, seeing all the comments about you and Ben. You looked over to your side, seeing the blond continuing to stare at you with his warm eyes that made your heart feel like it ran a marathon.
You looked away quickly, a blush still evident on your face, “Alright, lovelies, that’s all the time I got today, but I promise to go live again sometime soon!” You waved at the camera, before ending the live and exiting Instagram.
Sighing, you closed your phone and immediately stood up, walking fast towards the door that lead to the balcony, looking out to the view of the city lights. You leaned against the railing, trying to calm down your rapid beating heart.
Does Ben actually like me? You asked yourself, looking out to the starlit sky. Yeah, he was looking at you like that, but, was it real? Or was it just for the fans?
You let out a sigh, too deep in your thoughts to notice a certain blond approaching. Feeling someone beside you, you immediately knew it was Ben. You honestly didn’t know what to say to him until he finally spoke up, “I mean it, you know.”
You looked up at him in confusion, immediately drowning in his green orbs. “You really are the most amazing person I know,” He breathed, cupping your cheek with his hand.
Staring into each other’s eyes for a bit longer, you began to lean in towards Ben, him doing the same. Slowly closing your eyes, feeling a wave of electricity went through your entire body when you felt his soft lips press against yours.
As both your lips moved against each other softly, he cupped both your cheeks in his hands while your hands were pressed against his firm chest, feeling his own rapid heartbeat under your fingers.
Both of your were so lost in each other’s lips that you didn’t notice the rest of the cast already watching you from the inside until a camera shutter was heard.
You and Ben quickly, but gently pulled away from each other’s lips to see the whole cast standing by the door, Lucy holding up her phone. “It’s about time!” Joe cheered.
The entire cast bursted into laughter, but congratulated you both for finally getting together after crushing on each other for God knows how long. Ben held your hand softly, before smiling fondly at you and entering the living room again, but as a couple this time.
Later on, you heard a ‘ding’ come from your phone, signaling a notification.
“benhardy1 tagged you in a post.”
Opening Instagram again, you blushed as you saw the picture that Lucy took of both you and Ben in the middle of your kiss earlier captioned,
“Finally. ❤️”

The Opossum (Deadly Premonition Fan Exchange 2019)
Summary: Polly asks York to help out with a pest problem at the hotel. It’s proving to be a little harder than catching the usual suspects.
Word Count: 1331 words
A/n: He have class, he give sass, but most importantly he scream at own ass.
Okay but seriously......
For the Deadly Premonition Fan Exchange/Secret Santa, I got @meme-queen-lucy. I heard you like opossums (a word I’m slowly still learning how to spell), so hopefully you’ll like this too. I also legit thought about making an opossum a deputy of Greenvale because I thought was something Swery would do lol. Too bad that didn’t make the final cut.
Also a special thanks to @michaeltillotson for beta-ing for me. I absoltutely appreicate anyone who takes the time to look at any of my stuff. Thank you again for helping me out. You are also the person who had set up this whole exchange thing for such a weird, niche game. This one’s for you too.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“This isn’t what I expected when I signed up for the FBI. Isn’t that right, Zach?”
It was nearly 9 am and the rain spattered with rhythmic force against the window pane in the dining hall.
With a half empty cup of coffee, York was thinking about what Polly had said moments ago,  before they finished breakfast and she excused herself from the table.
“Agent Morgan, if it’s not too much trouble…”
“What is it, Polly?”
There was an infestation problem in the hotel.
“But don’t you worry, it’s nothing too serious.”
It was an opossum. Just the one.
“Just the one?” he asked.
“Yes, I think so.”
She mentioned that she had spotted this particular little thing digging around the trash cans outside the hotel over the past few days. At first, she paid no attention to it. Animals never bothered Polly, especially not living in this part of the country. It reminded her of the times she and her husband had gone out on hikes through the woods many years ago. They took many photos of themselves with nature and her companions with a polaroid she still had in her possession.
However, this little rascal made it through the door.
This...could cause some issues with the hotel and its guests.
What to do…?
“Again, Agent Morgan, if it isn’t too much trouble. I’m much too old and slow to do it myself.”
“Of course, Polly. I’ll see what I can do. It’s just one possum. How hard could it be?”
Polly also made sure that he would not kill the animal once he found it.
Possums. They’re like raccoons or oversized rats. No different than any pest York had met in the city. Plus, it should be easier to catch this than any of the criminals he had pursued.
Why didn’t I listen to you, Zach?
That was three days ago…
“Having a hard time there, Agent York?”
It was Emily. She was completing eating it up alongside lunch at the sheriff’s department.
“An agent of the bureau can’t catch one little possum.”
York rolled his eyes.
Just like grade school…
“I’m an officer of the law, Emily. I catch people, not animals. I’m not a hunter.”
“I know you’re not,” she smiled. He didn’t mind the sight of her like this, especially during this horrid investigation, but not at his expense. “But it’s pretty funny that you’re having so much trouble. Have you thought about asking for help? Maybe Thomas knows something about possums.”
Dammit, why haven’t we thought about that before?
Thomas did in fact know something about possums.
“Well, first off, it’s ‘opossum’ and not possum.”
“What’s the difference?” York shrugged.
“Only that opossums live here in North America while possums live in Australia.”
During another break in the late afternoon, near evening, Thomas went deep into detail about what he knew about them.
They are not rodents, but marsupials, and have pouches to carry their young. They have opposable thumbs and use their tails to grasp things.
“They have a vast diet too,” he mentioned, “and by that, I mean they’ll eat anything, including garbage. Every so often we get a call from someone asking if we could remove one from their trash bins.”
“I didn’t know the sheriff’s department handled animal control.”
“We don’t. We just don’t have anyone else to handle it. It’s a small town after all.”
After some further consultation, by the time the day was over and everyone had said their good nights, York was brainstorming his plan.
“I think, Zach,” he said on the drive back to the hotel, “we’ll need a trap of sorts. Maybe we could use the snacks we’ve collected in our room. We need a box or a cage or something like that…” The car neared Greenvale’s edge by the waters, the moon a bright crescent in a lonely sky.
He chuckled.
“Let’s hope it doesn’t turn out like Mouse Trap. Remember, Zach? 1997. I’m not planning on becoming Chris Walken here.”
It was nearing 8 by the time he made it to the hotel. He greeted Polly by the front desk and asked about her day. The television playing in the background droned on about tomorrow’s forecast as she answered.
“I saw that darn opossum again. He scurried past me in the kitchen earlier today. I think I saw him go down one of the corridors here. God knows where he is now. I hope he isn’t making a mess in one of my rooms.”
“Don’t worry about it, Polly. I’ve been hatching up a plan to catch the thing. By tomorrow morning, I’ll get a trap set up.”
Naturally, Polly was delighted to hear this.
After a late dinner, York said his good night to Polly before heading to his room.
“If I have to be honest, Zach, all I can think about is whether I should shower now or in the morning.”
With a yawn and his eyelids drooping, the agent opened the door to his hotel room. He took off his suit jacket, his hands slipping out the sleeves, and went to shut the door behind him and find the light switch.
That’s when he noticed the crumbs on the floor.
He almost missed it.
They were as plain as day in the light under York’s sleepy gaze. They looked like bread or cookie crumbs and they made a trail that led to the bed, just a few feet away. Near the foot of the bed, crumbs and various other scraps of food and packaging were scattered in a mess around the suitcase he had brought his clothes in. The suitcase itself was open and on the floor. His shirts and pants were scattered, thrown around the floor.
By now, York was wide awake, gun in hand.
Each careful step warranted a wide sweep of the eyes across every possible hiding place.
A hotel room is an odd place to rob. Not to mention the fact that nothing looked to be stolen. The only item that was out of place was the suitcase. Nothing else was opened or turned over. What was the motive behind this strange crime scene?
There was a squeak, like one of a small animal, and York’s arm snapped forward, hands ready to fire his gun.
By the far side of the bed, near the windows, one of his shirts had piled up. However, there was something hiding underneath it. It was rising and falling, like the rhythm of someone’s breath.
With a nimble hand, the other remaining on the gun, he went to pluck the shirt away.
There in the open was the opossum. And he appeared to be asleep.
That, or he had eaten too much, and was or on the verge of passing out in front of the agent in his own room. He laid on his side, little pink paws outstretched, tail curled against him, and tongue out on the floor, drooling himself a pool of spit. His eyes were half open, and his ears twitched every so often.
“Well, Zach,” York sighed, putting his gun back in his holster, “looks like we found the little rascal.”
Despite himself, York poked the animal with a pen from his pocket. He obviously wasn’t dead, but he definitely wasn’t quite conscious. He let out another squeak upon contact with the pen.
“He must have found my stash of snacks. That’s what I get for hiding them in my suitcase. Better call Thomas.”
He got up and headed for the phone.
The opossum remained where he was and continued his nap on the floor, gurgling into his little puddle of drool, while York dialled.

Famous Muses & Groupies in Rock Music Pt. 39
GROUPIE: Pamela des Barres (born Pamela Ann Miller)
So you might be wondering why, nearly 40 posts into this series on muses and groupies, I haven’t focused on the queen bee herself yet. Well to be completely honest, it’s because I don’t like her I figured everyone already knows her story, lol. But I might as well give it a go just for the sake of continuity. Pamela was born on September 9th, 1948 in Reseda, CA to a housewife and a gold miner. She grew up in the San Fernando Valley right in the middle of where the first wave of rock music history was taking place. She passionately fangirled Elvis Presley, the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. Paul McCartney was her blueprint for the perfect boyfriend as a teen, and in her first memoir I’m with the Band (1987), Pamela claims she got an ‘A’ on an art project by drawing Mick Jagger’s crotch (….). She quickly met her first musician through high school classmate Victor Hayden—who just happened to be Cpt. Beefheart’s cousin. Through Victor, Pam got to go backstage and to local parties where she met Frank Zappa, the Byrds, the Stones, the Doors and Steppenwolf when she was 16-19 in 1965-68.
Even though she had been meeting and befriending rockstars since 10th grade, Pamela says she was mostly a virginal groupie in the late 1960s, and didn’t sleep with any of them as a minor. With a couple of intimate exceptions—like making out with Jim Morrison when Pamela Courson wasn’t around—Pamela didn’t lose her virginity until she was 19. The guy ended up being bassist Nick St. Nicholas of hard rock band Steppenwolf, and she claims the experience was ~just okay (i.e. she barely remembers it). Since then, Pamela went on to casually date and randomly hookup with stars in the 1970s like previous art class subject Mick Jagger, Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin, Keith Moon of the Who, Noel Redding of the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Chris Hillman of the Byrds, Gram Parsons, and Waylon Jennings. Her first and only husband would be Michael des Barres of the B-list rock bands Silverhead and Detective from 1977-1991. Her only child, son Nicholas, was born on September 30th, 1978. She also went through a movie star phase and went on dates with former child actor Brandon de Wilde, TV star Don Johnson, comedian Michael Richards (??) and comic-turned-filmmaker Woody Allen (?!?!).
For work, Pamela had random jobs around the Sunset Strip from waitressing and retail to TV hosting and B-movie acting. After she finished school, she briefly babysat Frank & Gail Zappa’s kids and became part of Frank’s side project Girls Together Outrageously (AKA, the GTOs). The group was comprised of local LA County groupies as an experiment to see if they could make their own music too (spoiler: they can’t). During this period, Pamela went by the moniker ‘Miss Pamela’ or just ‘Ms P.’ The girls broke up after only two years together (1968-70) and one album released, ‘Permanent Damage’ (1969). Pam and fellow GTO Lucy Offerall both later had cameos in Zappa’s cult film 200 Motels (1971) alongside Ringo Starr, Keith Moon and Mark Volman. In her late 30s, Pam was inspired to take up writing after gossip journalist Stephen Davis told her she was a good storyteller while interviewing her for the (awful) Led Zeppelin biography Hammer of the Gods (1985). Soon she went on to coin the first ever groupie memoir in 1987 called I’m with the Band, which quickly gained notoriety in the music community. Since then, she’s written three more memoirs: Take Another Little Piece of My Heart (1993), Rock Bottom (1996), and Let’s Spend the Night Together (2007). In modern times, she occasionally writes featured columns for publications, her own blog posts and has her own ‘groupie’ fashion line. She’s also still friends with GTO pal Miss Mercy and fellow Led Zep groupie Michele Overman.
But how does she feel about carrying the title of ‘the most famous groupie in the world?’ Well, it’s complicated. Pamela claims the first time she ever heard of the word ‘groupie’ was by a Zeppelin roadie at a Hollywood party in 1969. For a decade she battled with people labeling her the ‘G’ word, as she tried to be taken seriously and not viewed as a slut. But by the time she was writing her books, she changed her tune since it’s the only reason anyone knows who she is. She even goes as far as to argue that groupies are the ‘real’ muses of rock music and feminist. 😒 Another little issue that occurred after living it up in the late ‘60s/early ‘70s. There was a new, wilder, less legal breed of groupies in town: baby groupies (or the Star Girls). Teen girls between ages 13-17 who were ~stealing all the rockstars from the 20-something, seasoned groupies like Pamela and Bebe Buell. In 1971, while Pamela was dating Don Johnson, she noticed that 14-year-old Melanie Griffith was hanging around his film sets and neighborhood a lot. Soon ‘a lot’ became all the time, and Don infamously dropped Pam for Mel. Then only two years later the same shit happens again, when Zep guitarist Jimmy Page ditched Pam at the English Disco for 14-year-old Lori Maddox in 1973. (BTW, Jimmy wasn’t even legitimately with either of them. He was living with French model Charlotte Martin. Oh, and Jimmy and Pam’s husband Michael were friends at one point and Jimmy would hang out at their house sometimes…awk.) Now seen as ‘old,’ or ‘over the hill’ as queen baby groupie Sable Starr apparently called her, Pamela went through an existential crisis at age 25 about her exes leaving her for literal school girls.
But rather than, I don’t know, raising her standards on men, she spends the next 30 years shaming these teen girls for being man-stealers or something. In I’m with the Band, she’s a lot more forgiving of Melanie and even claimed they’re friends now, but she still held a grudge at Lori. Then sometime in the mid-2000s, Pamela and Lori are suddenly ~good friends and Lori is subject of a chapter of Let’s Spend the Night Together. When David Bowie died in 2016, Pam finally started publicly stating that teen groupies are unethical. But then #metoo blew up in 2017, and it quickly occurred to people that in an environment where sexism and sexual misconduct are being re-evaluated; music stars getting one-night stands and random blow jobs while partying with young women anywhere from 13 to 30 years old started sounding really, hella sketchy. Instead of owning up to the culture being outdated, Pamela doubled down hard on groupie-ism, defended the statutory rape with the baby groupies, and thinks ‘sex, drugs and rock & roll’ isn’t an issue. In most of her interviews from 2018, like on “Ken Boxer Live,” and in Women Wear Daily, NME and The Big Issue Magazine; she says she’s ‘bored’ with being asked about #metoo and that it’s a whole different vibe in the music industry. (I’m sure the women accusing R. Kelly, Ryan Adams and Russell Simmons of abuse agree.)
I’m sorry, but you can’t claim being a groupie is feminist, and at the same time say all that shit and brag about giving hickeys to Jim Morrison or blowing Mick Jagger. Just admit it was all about partying and being with famous people.
P.S. Penny Lane in Almost Famous (2000) is not based on Pamela, no matter how much she (or any other famous groupie) claim the character is. Penny’s based on Pennie Ann Trumbull. Check out my earlier post on her.

For the tv show ask 1-7, 9 & 10
(Glad to see you considered question 8 as boring as I do xD)
if you could reboot one TV show, which one would it be?
This is a hard questions because honestly, I don’t think in reboots xD. If I loved a show, a ~reimagining of it doesn’t come to my mind? Even if I won’t mind it if it happened (this is my reminder for checking out the Charmed reboot once and for all, it’s one of the very few I’ve been enthusiastic about).
Hmm. Maybe some type of Lois & Clark reboot? In the sense that I’ve wanted a clois show that reimagined the source material for a while. I would want it with Lois’ POV as the lead tho; Lois would still be older and more established than Clark, and I’ve always liked the idea of her as a war correspondent (or at least former war correspondent). It could be interesting to use a visual medium instead of newspapers, too. Lucy Liu has been one of my fancasts for a while, NGL, reinforced by that Set It Up movie. She looks a lot like the STAS version. I’ve also seen Morley and Lindsay fancasted as Clois over twitter and it’s GOOD, but tbh I want Lois to be older than him.
if you could have saved one TV show from cancellation, which one would it be?
A few months ago, I would’ve said El Ministerio del Tiempo (The ministry of time, aka the show timeless ripped-off lol), but it’s just been renewed for a fourth season after over a year without a word and I’m over the moon (they announced it the day of Los Santos Inocentes, aka Spain’s equivalent to April’s Fools, and I was suspicious about it for over a week lmao).
So with that out of the way, the question would be between Sarah Connor Chronicles and Galavant, tbh. Probably SCC, because that cliff-hanger still haunts me to this day.
have you ever quit a show before it finished? why?
I quit shows ALL THE FREAKING TIME. Usually, it’s simply because they don’t grab my hyper-fixation, and if I’m not 200% into it, what’s the point, really (sometimes, if I *do* really like some parts of the story, I go back when the season is finished and binge-watch, but mostly I just quit). Other times it’s because I can tell that my priorities are too different from the writers and I pre-emptively pull away. But mostly is due to lack of enthusiasm for the story. I don’t think I’ve ever rage-quitted anything.
are there any shows you wish could just be cancelled already?
Not really. I mean, most of my current shows are brand new xD (Legacies, Roswell, The Umbrella Academy, Elite, Sex Education, Black Monday -where I’m not caught up because I Fear the ending and I want to see how it all pans down-; I just started Deadly Class and I’m loving it), and the others are The 100, Star vs the Forces of Evil, Veep, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (tho if last season had been its end I’d be fine with it, it was gr10 for me and my priorities lol) and Suits, where, tbh, if the writers maintained the level of engagement I’ve felt in the last season, I would be fine with them running more years. And the rest of the shows I’m entertaining to watch are already finished or cancelled, so.
(I heard about SPN’s cancellation and I’m actually a little sad about it lol. Not for the show itself -I’ve only watched Bela’s, Ruby’s and Anna’s episodes and that’s how it’s forever gonna stay; I knew I would never be able to get into the show because Dean is pretty much my anti-type of lead character lol. But I found its endurability hilarious and it’s cancellation sounds fake xDD).
what’s your comfort show?
RN, Star vs the Forces of Evil. I wish more people in my dash watched it because it’s the cutest thing ever, and it has legitimately gr10 storylines. I need to watch the latests eps.
Other comfort shows: Galavant, Gravity Falls, Lois & Clark… almost any of my favourite animated shows, tbh.
which shows do you think are underrated and need more love?
Of my current shows, Black Monday. I haven’t seen anyone on my dash mention it, and it had me hooked from the first episode and the next just reinforced it (I haven’t watched past that because, as I said, there’s some foreshadowing that makes me fear the ending, as I am already way too invested… there’s only two episodes left, so I’ll be binge-watching it soon tho).
have you ever been inspired to start a new show based on gifs or memes it has produced?
That’s exactly why I started Deadly Class yesterday and I’m already half-way through lol (it’s only ten eps long). I saw it around tumblr and I took notice, thinking I might try it out at some point, though I didn’t know what it was about. Then I saw this gifset (it’s from the pilot, so not too spoilery), and I needed to know what the fuck was going on LMAO. Fair warning, though not too graphic (except kind of in the flashbacks, which are drawn in comic style and have the worst content), it has frankly upsetting/potentially triggering content. But I’m really enjoying the ~vibe and its characters. The protagonist (my fave) kind of reminds me of Scott McCall? Not so much in personality (… there he kind of reminds me of Jason Todd lol, with caveats), but in the “his milkshake brings all the boys (and girls, and nb folk) to the yard” factor xDD
what’s one show you thought you’d hate but turned out to really enjoy?
I tend to be right about my predictions in this regard lol. Usually, at most I’ll start watching something ~casually/with other people, and later it grabs me when I start shipping/stanning some characters HARD (see: MCU, Shadowhunters).
Oh, I recently started watching Legends of Tomorrow with a friend (except we’re going backwards because she’s in s4 and I didn’t feel the need to catch up first lol); giving my meh reaction to the rest of the CW DC verse (The Flash is the only one I tolerate & can casually watch some arcs once in a while, and it’s because Westallen it’s what it is, basically. I’m kind of curious about the daughter-from-the-future plotline and I might watch last season when it’s over. In general, there’s something about the ~pathos of the ‘verse that rubs me the wrong way), and I’m liking it A LOT more than I expected? Most of the characters really ~*spark* and I’m loving it (notable exceptions: Ava, Mick, and Grant? Gary? IDK, that dude).
what’s one show you thought you’d love but turned out to really hate?
Hmm… kind of same-as-above. This is probably partially because of my tendency to drop shows at the first sign of anything unappealing, because it doesn’t let my feelings grow into hate lol.
