My project with my partner for Ludum Dare! We had a three day lockdown here, so... well timed for a lockdown project I guess!
The theme was “Deeper and deeper” so we went with the deep colour hues and digging up paint. You’re a tiny artist bug gathering pigments from a painting with a tiny palette knife!
I painted a still life for the game, taking a set of photos as I went, so you can dig down through the layers until you see the rough sketch at the bottom. I modelled and animated our little bug character too!

We made a game for Ludum dare 46!
https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/46/busy-bee-business
Go check it out if you have spare time, it was a fast project but I think the end result is pretty nice. I was in charge of the graphics.

Here’s the little game we made for Ludum Dare 46 (a game jam) over the weekend! The theme was “Keep it Alive” so we went with being a cultist and feeding a baby c’thulu style monster.
You can even play it online here: http://shadowmint.com/ld46/thulu/
(WASD + E to interact, arrow keys + . for player 2)
My partner Doug did all the coding, Sam (https://recsketch.tumblr.com/ You should check out her art! It’s super pretty) painted the super tasty looking food offerings and I did the character art, environment, animation and level building.
We didn’t *quite* finish - the monster can’t actually die even if you’re a bad cultist parent. We might do a little more work tonight as the jam’s technically still going one more day.
