>most of the characters in this au are high school seniors, barring a few exceptions (chopper is a junior, for instance). >because this is directly mirrored from my own experience and i'm usamerican, there are 8 periods in their school day, with the first starting at 7:50 am and the last ending at 2:40 pm. >the east blue gang met in middle school, and the rest of the SHs came into play either the summer before freshman year or during it. most of the other crews also became friends in middle school. >overall the school is fairly large, with something like 2.5k students, but it's also pretty broke whenever it doesn't have grant money (which is often).

More One Piece Actor AU

- Chopper is the youngest cast member and as such everyone is protective of the little guy

- Chopper suffers from dwarfism which makes Sanji even more protective of the kid as he had been suffering from body image issues for years and he does not want another person to feel bad about their looks

- He calls Sanji and Zoro dad as he lost his parents when he was little and was left in an orphanage. The Roronoas more or less adopted him as their son.

- It is always a cute sight to see Sanji cuddling Chopper on set or Zoro playing with the kid

- Everyone always messes with Luffy’s hair and style it in a variety of ways. Nami keeps bringing hair accessories on set for everyone to mess around with. Luffy likes it and shares the various hairstyles on social media

- Zoro has prank called a lot of celebs on-set

- Zoro, Sanji, Ichigo Kurosaki, Kaneki and Gojo are referred to as the Daddy circle since they are all BFFs and married

- Robin gets cold on set so they always look for fluffy blankets and jackets to keep her warm

- Brook composed Brink’s sake and is proud of it

- Franky keeps hitting his head into things no thanks to being the tallest Straw Hat

- Usopp is yet another Strawhat that got married. He married before the Roronoas

- Nami often complains about the shoes she is given so they make adjustments for her

- Robin accidentally broke a tooth whilst running around on set and had to get surgery done

- The cast often draw stuff on Blackbeard’s face whenever they catch him sleeping. Whitebeard always films them and posts it online

- Ace and Zoro had a brief rivalry on-set over who is sexier. Sanji was giggling throughout because Zoro can be so competitive

- Luffy eats the most on-set much to the collective dismay of everyone

- The cast members often take trips together

- Vivi was originally meant to be a major part of the show but left thanks to Emma’s behaviour. She would return later

- All the girls envy Sanji’s ass, something Sanji is proud of hence why he shows it off a lot xD

Okay so I have to make the whole crew around the same age because this is kinda highschool au

Usopp walks into his first day at the DWMA hoping to be a great meister like his father, and ends up getting put in the Sorting Program for kids that enroll without a partner.

Who's in that class? Luffy, because he's too unruly to keep a partner and also who wants a slingshot when you could have a sword or smth??? He Was partnered with Sabo, then Sabo "died", then he was with Ace but Ace was a weapon and terrible at range weapons even if they were super soul-resonant, then there was Coby but Coby didn't have the will to keep up (at the time! He gets better) so here Luffy is in the reject pile.

Usopp, who had a slingshot as a kid, immediately gets drawn to Luffy. Luffy tells him point-blank that to be his meister Usopp has to be gunning for The World's Best Meister because he's Gonna be the best weapon. Usopp kinda laughs it off but they become partners anyway.

Luffy's known Zoro a few days so of course they're bffs even tho Zoro is strictly a sword meister so they can't be partners. Luffy also knows Nami already. Zoro's got Chopper, who's his little brother, but he meets Sanji and Jimbe later (Sanji whose turned his legs to blades to try fighting off Don Krieg - who collects young weapons to get stronger. And Jimbe, who's under a curse from a witch [Big Mom] that Ace breaks) Nami knew Franky because they were both adopted by Tom, Kokoro and Belle-mere (they're either poly or qpp) and Franky was too bizarre in general so he got hold back 2 years until he could partner with his baby sis. Robin and Brook are the Cool Kids, on par with Kid kinda Elite even thought Brook is clinically insane (Robin Doesn't let kids bully him for it, for their safety and Brook's peace of mind) and they met in school. Robin doesn't actually introduce herself really she and Brook just start following the crew and then an incident has the whole group killing a few hundred tainted souls

If something similar to souleater canon happens between Usopp and Luffy I Will Cry but write it anyway because The angst?? Luffy sacrificing his life, his dream, for fear-paralysed Usopp??? Usopp going Insane about this???

Water 7 and Enies Lobby happen but that scene in which Usopp is plotting to go back to the crew doesn't happen. Sanji finds Usopp staring at the sunset and the beach and wondering what he's going to do next exactly. Elbaf, yes, but he needs to plan so many things before sailing on his own. And Sanji just-- They haven't confessed or anything. And Sanji doubts Usopp loves him back that way. But what they've been through has made him realize he's in love with him. Which, you know, fucking sucks because he's leaving and Sanji can't do anything about it.

And,,, I'm just thinking,,, About Usopp actually leaving. And Sanji going with him. Usopp claims that he doesn't need somebody to protect him. That he's going on his own for that reason. He needs to do this on his own. But Sanji insists and says that that's what a first mate is for. The he isn't doing this because Luffy told him. Or anyone, really. Actually, this is something really impulsive and he doesn't think it's the best idea but it's what he wants to do. The Strawhtats are his home, yes, but he has realized that Usopp is the flame that keeps him warm. He doesn't feel so out of place and uneasy when Usopp is around. He doesn't think he'll be able to handle it without him. "I'm not doing it for you" is what he ends up saying. And fuck, okay, Usopp just has to accept. Excited. Happy. In love.

hmm... so most of us agree that nami is a lesbian (duh) but since usopp is her best friend on the crew... he can't be a cis straight male. that's just not plausible. where there is one gay the chances of another are doubled, especially if they're bffs.

and zoro is also gay - so we have that. and luffy is ace (i also hc him to be panromantic), sanji bi...

i actually think usopp could be non binary? i can see it. he's (or they? O.o i'll stick to he/him, let's say he doesn't have any preference for pronouns but has obviously gotten used to he but if someone used a neutral pronoun or she it wouldn't bother him. their world doesn't make many strict categories about sexuality so they/them is a bit rare, most who are nonbinary either have their own pronouns in Their language and culture OR they just don't put weight on the gendering of pronouns. we're imposing our terms on them) - so he's got gorgeous curls that i bet he loves taking care of and because of that i also bet he has this feminine side that he's happy to embrace that he inherited from his mom as his dad left him so young. as a result, he doesn't feel attached to being a boy or a girl, and doesn't care. he does, however, still romanticize manliness - a result of insecurity that, over the years, he has come to understand better about himself. i imagine post-ts usopp to have matured a lot in character and also outlook: he now defines 'manliness' as accepting who you are, and living your truth to the fullest. this will solidify in eventual elbaf. he'll meet an incredible girl giant who everyone calls manly cuz her battle prowess is unmatched and so he'll learn that manliness is just sticking to your guns, being brave, and being there for your loved ones. he realizes that the "man" part doesn't really matter after all, and that everyone who teased him growing up was probably just insecure themselves and projecting

anyways, im obsessed with hairdresser usopp. and sure, male hairdressers can be straight but where's the fun in that? he is so handy - he's absolutely the one keeping the crew looking sharp. a lot of ppl probably think it's nami but i don't think she has the hands for it. she's got brains but i picture her being a bit clumsy. usopp is so tactful and adept with his hands, and he's got an eye for detail no one else does. sanji's for food is the only one that compares

yup. that's it. i officially headcanon usopp as a bi non-binary black person. he's long been spoken for by kaya though, but in their travels maybe he finds himself spending the night with a person here or there

this leaves chopper, jinbei, brook, robin, and franky.

franky's easy - he's a cyborg and he has no gender. he is agender. he's also probably bi, just straight-leaning. but he couldn't say no to a beautiful man ;) tbh, maybe he could be pan. that could also be fun. anyways, we all know he doesn't give a fuck about anything but his friends and family, he loves to dance, sing, party, dress wild and crazy- gender for himself and others means nothing to him. he doesn't get bogged down by labels

chopper is straight. like i just cant see it any other way, honestly. but also he's a reindeer so it's not the same as being a hetero cis white male. he's very unproblematic and pure-hearted

jinbei is aromantic i think? but he might settle down to have a family someday anyways with someone dear and kind to him. maybe someone who lost their first and only love, and just wants someone who can make them happy and comfort them. but i could also see him being content going the way of whitebeard and adopting all he loves as his for family. he's been on the sea so long now, been involved in politics so long, he doesn't know how to do much else anymore. he decides to put that good use

brook is straight. that's why he can be so annoying sometimes. and despite being a skeleton, he very much considers himself a man. but he ain't homophobic. he's a musician and he loves love. all love is beautiful to him

and last, but certainly not least, we have robin aka my wife. she's pan 100%. she has no vision about who she could fall in love with, she just wants to be loved and will accept anyone who makes her feel safe, wanted, and that can always make her laugh. she used to have too many walls to even consider romance or sex for a long long time - but having found her place with the Straw Hats, she's ready and waiting for whoever lights that spark (which in my hc is franky. i do love frobin. i love that franky would take such good care of her. i don't think they are in love yet, but it's blooming, and i think what will happen is one day they'll be fighting side by side and they'll both just realize they work so well together and it'll click and fall into place. they'll share a soft look, and after the fight is over, they'll meet on the deck at night once everyone's gone to bed, and they'll talk then robin will kiss him in the middle of him stuttering to confess and they'll make it official)

random sanuso headcanons i have for no reason (pt. 3)

-Usopp has unknowingly/knowingly taught Sanji to be more secure in his masculinity and that there's more to being a man. Like, Usopp will doing something that's "feminine" and Sanji is like "wait- you can do that and enjoy it AND STILL BE A MAN??? And the people who make fun of you for having your nails painted are the ones with the problem??? Not me???" It's very liberating!

-They LOVE to hate shit together. They hate most of the same things and love to have these rant sessions about how X fucking sucks and why.

-It's more fun to have Usopp helping in the kitchen because it's not as stressful/serious as the Baratie was and because Usopp makes stupid comments about the food like, "This salt is so kosher that it's circumcised." or "I want you to show me how the shrimp fried this rice."

-Sanji's skin has improved since he got closer with Usopp because Usopp WILL NOT tolerate not properly moisturizing (my guy uses shea butter and you know it)

-Every time Usopp has talked about getting a nose job, Sanji has threatened to make his eyebrows symmetrical. They hold their own insecurities hostage, and the comments they make are akin to a high noon western stand-off. "My nose is stupid! It's just a hazard at this point!" | "So are my eyebrows. I'm one razor and a pencil away from making them look normal-" | "You stop that!" | "Only when you do! Your nose IS FINE!" | "I DECIDE when my nose is fine!" | "WELL, I DECIDE IF MY EYEBROWS ARE FINE TOO-"

-Sanji was not only blown away by Usopp's transformation after the timeskip, but he had created an arsenal of short puns for him. In response, Usopp lied that he was "actually 5'3" and watched as Sanji inwardly panicked over not actually being 5'11 then because he's only three inches taller and that means he's actually 5'6. "AM I SHORT!???? HAVE I BEEN SHORT THIS ENTIRE TIME!????" PANIC ACTIVATE.

-I'm pretty sure both of their moms would not only be super supportive of them, but also be best friends and you CANNOT tell me anything else. They would CONSTANTLY be having brunch together.

-What, you think they DON'T have a BFF handshake? They do and it's adorable. Sometimes it makes the other members of the crew roll their eyes. However, Luffy saw it once and was like HOLY SHIT THAT'S COOL and now wants to make a secret handshake that the entire crew can use.

-When it came to them first getting together and when they fight, Nami was the first to know about it because Usopp just confides in her like that. Also, she gives Usopp GREAT advice to patch things up and/or annoy Sanji further.

-If something serious is happening, Usopp and Sanji CANNOT look at each other or they will break out laughing uncontrollably. ESPECIALLY if someone is yelling at them. There was one time they were both hostages and as their capturer was threatening them, they both looked at each other- Sanji snorted and it was ALL OVER.

-Usopp likes helping with Sanji's hair just as much as Sanji likes helping him.

-Usopp can knit/crochet and he once made Sanji a vest, and it's like Sanji's favourite thing and he nearly had a heart attack when he accidentally spilled something on it.

-Sometimes, Sanji sneaks extra food on Usopp's plate just because.

-The only time Sanji will agree that mushrooms suck is on Usopp's birthday because that's HIS day and whatever bae says, GOES.

-Usopp could do the bare minimum and Sanji would be like "OMG he's SO CUTE!!!"

-If someone asked them who the most iconic couple on the ship was, Usopp would be like "why does that matter?" but Sanji would say without missing a beat, "No, it's us. Obviously."
