Something I love about Star Wars is how Luke didn't fix Anakin, he gave him the courage to save himself.

Anakin Skywalker is both a villain (and an abuser. I mean he tortured his own daughter and cut off his son's hand, come on) and a victim, that much is obvious. He is, most importantly, a slave. There has never been a single moment of his life where he wasn't/hasn't felt like he was a slave to something. Watto, the Republic, Palpatine, maybe even himself — you name it. He has never been free.

When Luke goes to the second Death Star, he is going to his father, to the suffering Palpatine is putting Anakin through (he is the main victim of Sidious's abuse and torture, something many people tend to forget). To the suffering Anakin is making himself go through, because, while it was heavily influenced by Palpatine, Anakin's choice to never leave was his own.

He Fell, and that wasn't his fault, but he chose to stay there. Many people — namely Padmé — gave him second chances. Padmé gave Anakin the chance to leave and stay together, but he didn't take it. He did all of it to save her, and it the end, he ends up believing he was the one who killed her (he 'destroys' his goal, because that's what the Dark Side does. You may begin as a noble person looking to save someone, but the Dark Side isn't good, and you will lose track of yourself along the way.)

And now here he is, inside a prison that is seen as his own suit. A prison he was put in, a prison he chose to stay in. By the time of ROTJ, he truly believes that it's over for him. That nothing can save him. That there's no hope. Anakin, the lifelong slave, is resigned to his fate. “It is too late for me, son,” he tells Luke, who willingly came to him wearing shackles.

And Luke, still believing that there is some humanity in Darth Vader's armor, doesn't deter. He doesn't let his father's words stop him. He shows that he's willing to give himself away, to die, just to save him.

Luke Skywalker, son of Padmé and Anakin and the last Jedi Master left, shows a man turned monster that he loves him unconditionally. He shows him that no, it's not too late for him, not now and not ever. And this — his selflessness, his compassion — is what finally gets through Anakin. Someone loves him, and he loves them back. And he would do anything to keep them alive, including killing his own Master and breaking his chains.

It's Luke's own sacrifice that inspires Anakin to give up his life. It's Luke's undying hope that motivates Anakin to finally break his own chains. It's Luke's trust in him that gives Anakin the courage to save himself, and in that single act, he saves the entire galaxy.

The light comes to him in the form of one Luke Skywalker, extending his hand for the last time — the light comes to him when he takes it.

The Prophecy is fulfilled when Anakin kills Palpatine and leaves the dark. The galaxy is saved when a father dies for his son.

a two year old riley and quinn walked into the hospital. “okay, you two, your gonna need to be gentle and quiet, okay?” jim said to his two kids.

riley nodded excitedly. she was excited to me her baby brother. quinn nodded.

jim opened the door to the hospital room, where ellen was currently in holding jack in her arms.

“hey guys.” ellen whispered, “this is jack.” ellen told them. riley walked over to her mom. “he’s so cute.” riley smiled.

quinn followed after her. “look quinny.” riley said, grabbing quinn’s arm. quinn looked at his baby brother. “he looks like mama.” quinn noted.

riley nodded. “you wanna hold him?” ellen asked. riley nodded. “okay, sit down.” ellen said. riley sat down, ellen placed jack in her arms. “support his head.” ellen said.

all three hughes siblings walked into the hospital room where their mom was staying, she had just given birth to luke about three hours ago.

riley was holding jacks hand. “riley?” jack asked. “yea?” riley looked at him. “whys mommy in the hospital room?” jack asked.

“well, mommy had a baby. just like when she had you.. your an older brother jack.” riley explained. “oh..” jack whispered. riley walked into the hospital room with jack and quinn.

“guys, this is luke.” ellen said. riley smiled, she was so happy, she loved jack and she knew she would love luke.

jack pouted. “come on jack, your gonna love him.” riley said. jack hugged onto his older sister, leaning against her.

jack shook his head. “someone’s jealous.” jim told ellen, as he was standing with quinn. “he doesn’t wanna lose his oldest sister, it’s sweet.” ellen said.

riley patted jacks shoulder. “hi luke.” riley said, touching luke’s small hands. luke squirmed a bit at the coldness of her hands.

riley giggled. “see jack.. you did that too.” riley said, her other hand on jacks back. “no.” jack shook his head.

all four hughes siblings were all skating on an outdoor rink in their back yard. riley wasn’t as big into hockey as her brothers but she knew how to play.

jack and luke were play fighting when jack accidentally knocked luke down and he hit his head, causing him to start crying.

“luke?” riley skated over to him. “what happened?” riley asked jack, holding luke’s head.

“we were playing fighting, i’m sorry i didn’t mean to.” jack spoke fast. “it’s okay jack, go get mom, okay” riley said.

jack went to get ellen. riley rubbed luke’s back. “i know moosey. i know.” riley whispered. “my head hurt.” luke cried, leaning into riley.

“it’s okay, let’s get off the ice, yea?” riley said. quinn had went in with jack. riley stood up, helping luke off the ice. “there we go.” riley said, walking in with luke.

ellen walked over to them. “mom.” riley said. “oh luke.” ellen said, feeling the back of luke’s head. “your it’s just gonna be sore.” ellen said, kissing his head.

“mom, is he okay?” jack walked over to them, his cheeks has tear stains. “he’s okay.” ellen nodded. “i’m sorry luke.” jack said. “it’s okay.”

the hughes’ were home alone, jim and ellen were out on a date, they left quinn and riley in charge.

“riley!” luke walked into her room. “what?” riley asked. “can you play roller hockey with me? quinn and jack are outside playing together.” luke said, with a saddened tone.

“leaving you out?” riley asked. luke nodded. “okay, well instead of roller hockey, we can make cookies and or something? i don’t wanna play roller.” riley said, walking over to luke.

“can we make m&m cookies?” luke asked. “if we have m&ms.” riley nodded. luke smiled. “your the best.” “i know.” riley kissed his head

riley was sitting with jack cuddle into her side, jack was sick. he had a fever.

riley rubbed jacks back. “how are you feeling?” riley asked. “like i got hit by a zamboni.” jack said.

“at least your making jokes.” riley said. jack leaned closer to her. riley placed a blanket over jack.

“moms gonna be home soon, rowdy. and the she’ll take to the doctor.” riley said, kissing back on the head.

jack nodded, closing his eyes.

it was quinn draft day today. a very exciting day for the hughes family.

the hughes row sitting order was, jim, ellen, quinn, riley, luke, jack. luke wanted to sit by riley, but so did jack. but riley sat next to quinn and jack and luke played rock paper scissors for the seat next time riley.

the team on the clock was the vancouver canucks with the 7th overall selection, round one.

“…vancouver selects, from the university of michigan, quinn hughes.” the canucks gm announced.

the hughes’ stood up, riley hugged quinn first. “your amazing, quinn. i’m so proud.” riley whispered. “thank you, ry.” quinn smiled.

quinn then hugged luke, followed by jack, his grandmother, ellen, and then jim.

quinn walked down the row and up the stage, his whole family cheering.

the same deal as last year, but this time jack was getting drafted. another very exciting day for the hughes’

the row order was jim, ellen, jack, luke, riley, quinn.

“with the first pick overall, the new jersey devils are proud to select from the U.S program, jack hughes.” the devils announced.

jack hugged luke, quinn, and then riley. “you did rowdy.” riley kissed his cheek. “i’m so proud.” riley said. “thank you.”

jack then moved on to hug the rest of his family.

jack walked down row and to the stage, when jack got into the stage and put the jersey and hat on after taking the photo, he pointed at the crowd, getting laughs from the hughes row.

two years later, it was luke’s turn. the hughes family was in their this year because of covid, but still excited to celebrate luke.

the hughes family sat on the couch.

“with the fourth overall pick, the new jersey devils are proud to pick from the USA development program, luke hughes.” the devils gm announced.

jack was the first to hug luke, jumping while he did so, which earned laughed from quinn and riley. luke then hugged quinn while jack was still shaking his shoulders.

luke hugged riley. “your growing up on me.” riley said, hugging luke. “i know.” luke said. “i’m so proud of you, moosey. just wished you’d stop growing up.” riley ruffled his hair.

“alright, alright. thank you, ry.”

Just an imaginary scenario:

Young Yoru found Luke crying by himself and offered to become his "guardian human" to cheer him up. While Luke was embarassed since it was supposed to be the other way around (him being her guardian angel), he appreciated her kind words.

They later met again in the student exchange program at Devildom and while Yoru doesn't remember their past encounter, it's probably better that way since now Luke can properly act as a real guardian angel (not a crybaby!) to her! (o゜▽゜)o☆

i just. . .I just love everything about Colin Bridgerton and I can't stop. I love how heartfelt he is, I love how he makes others comfortable around him, I love how he fidgets, how he gestures, his quips and all his looks. How you can read an entire story just looking at his expressions and how he keeps so much under wraps. I love that he's buttoned up and everything proper on the surface whilst he breaks almost all the rules. I love how he told Penelope she doesn't count as someone he could give up because he cares about her, that she's his friend. How open his friendship with her is in an era where people insist that can't happen, when women aren't valued much at all (save for in a sexual sense) by most men. I love how he has a genuine friendship with her and cares about what she thinks, that he doesn't objectify her or pity her. I love how clearly he respects the women in his life. I love how he always listens to Penelope's insight and opinions, that he adores his mum and jokes around with her, that he played matchmaker for Anthony and Kate at Pall Mall, that he was clearly concerned for Edwina during the wedding. That he looks out for his littlest siblings and snarks with Eloise. That he's Daphne's favorite and how he always tried to ease Marina in S1. That the worst thing he's said about a woman in the entire series has been to call her 'cruel'. I love that he's lefthanded and that he's great with kids. I love that he loves love. I love that he's a flirt but also that he's not a fuckboi. I love that he's a hopeless romantic, that he talks about Leander going to see his love each night under the cover of darkness and has to be reminded that Leander drowned. I love that he doesn't often think ahead, that he runs in with his heart in his hands and a plan held together with a lick and promise and a bit of hope. I love that he loves yellow, that he's light and cheerful even when he knows heartache, even when he's sad. I love that he hides. I love that he says the wrong thing and I love that his charming demeanor hides so much beneath it. I love how he researches and dives into Greek mythology. I love that he's curious. I love his friendship with Will and Phillip, I love how he pushes back against Anthony's misogyny and that he hugs up on Benedict and encourages him. I love his integrity and nonsense. I love that he can't stop snacking and that he takes people at their word. I love how he trusts and how he loves others.

I love his mischief and his spontaneity, I love that he always wants to make things right. I love how he knows how to properly apologize and I love when he doesn't. I love all his triumphs and all his fuck ups. I love how he tries. I love that he never stops trying. I love that his character is one people need to dig into to truly understand and appreciate. I love rewatching his scenes and noticing something new each time. I love his hero complex and his cowardice, I love how he runs and when he stays. I love that he was shorter than all his brothers and sisters as a kid and that he's the tallest when he's grown. I love how he teases, I love how he uplifts, I love his passions and his insecurity, his concerns and his celebrations, when he's out of his depth and when he's at ease. I love how he changes depending on who he's around and how we have to read him to see where he's being most genuine. I love that he has facets. I love that those facets aren't obvious. I love the surface level of him and all the depths.

They grow up so fast: Teenage Luke Headcanons

I can't get out of my head Luke going through a teenage angst faze while in the exchange program and making it everyone's problem. Clearly, demons and angels don't age at the same rate as humans, but if I can blindly have baby Satan, I can have teen Luke.

The program takes place over four years. So sit with me for a minute and think about how everyone would react to sweet, annoying, and adorable 10-year-old Luke turning into a goblin of a 14-year-old!

All the brothers (mostly Mams, Satan, and Luci) wondering when the hell did the Chihuahua get so tall. He can look Belphie in the eyes!

What do you mean he's still growing, Simone! He's already too tall!

MC having an uno reverse with Luke. He's now tall enough to use them as an armrest.

Luke is also at the stage where teens think the stuff they like or idealized as a kid is cringe. Being Micheal's assistant angel is the worst thing in the world because Michael is the lamest angel in the Celestial Releam.

He starts bad-mouthing Michael every time he comes back from a check-in. It throws everyone off the first time it happens. Simeon and Solomon questioned if Luke was cursed.

Luke also tries to like baking less since it's now lame due to Michael liking sweets so much.

He fails, he can't say no to Barbatos, Simoen, or MC asking him to bake with them. Plus he really does love baking. He's slowly learning how to make it his own thing, and not doing it to impress Michael.

Luke's envy really comes out as a teen. As a 10-year-old his outburst could be perceived as aww he's just a kid. But now he can get pushy and mean, like when the others try to take MC away. That's his best friend, and MC is spending time with me!

He's not above using his blessing to keep those nasty demons away.

The strangest and most agita-inducing thing to come out of Teen Luke is him and Mammon getting along. Barbots and Simone now know why Lucifer went gray so quickly.

Don't get me wrong, Mammon still teases Luke 24-7. It is this job as his adoptive older brother.

Luke now openly wants to hang out with Mammon, and they cause so much trouble together. Pranks, staying out past curfew, a classic Mammon scheme here and there.

Luke has definitely been strung up from the chandelier at least once. And he defiantly learned his lesson to be way more sneaky.

Luke making friends his own age! Just a weird bunch of young dorky demons and angles running around causing chaos. They are helping unite the realm but at the cost of every adult's sanity.

Luke is the cool one out of his friend group because he goes to RAD and hangs out with the future king and the seven lords!
