So it’s not a perfect match in primal or timeline, but look at what Luna Tenebris has on her chest. We know she was the Queen of the Dragons during humanity’s exile, we know that she “mysteriously died” which makes it seem likely that Aaravos killed her, even if Zubeia doesn’t know for sure as she didn’t mention it as one of his crimes or deceptions. We know from N’than that there are three Star primal gemstones in the world called Quasar Diamonds, the emblem of which are associated with Aaravos and Elarion as well as Aaravos’ key. Idk where I’m going with this but it’s - interesting to say the least

This post has me wondering...

Did the Primal Source Moon affect Aaravos' trajectory when he fell to Xadia? Did it affect or somehow decide where he landed?

I guess it depends on whether he fell from the actual stars or like. Off the top of the Starscraper or something.

If he fell from high enough above the surface of Xadia, the moon's gravity would've pulled on him quite a lot, barring some sort of magical intent to his original trajectory.

What fun if he'd been meant to land somewhere else entirely and the Moon just said "Actually, I shall park this elf myself."

Or maybe there was some archdragon-level spell that Luna Tenebris performed to steer him down? He did land very close to her Moonshadow elves - if they lived in the Forest back then. Maybe she and Aaravos had already been whispering and she promised him a good landing with allies and aid in exchange for a crown, which he delivered later on.

Oh nah yeah I like this headcanon. Give me all the schemey power plays!

thinking about the tdp s4 intro constellations map!!!

(if anyone else has already made a post dissecting this, esp the constellations inside the star maps, pls direct me to it bc i am uber interested!!)

sharing my thoughts though, more specifically about the archdragons on the edge:

we have:

sun dragon sol regem, met in season 2 crossing into xadia:

sky/storm dragon avizandum, met in season 3 via flashback:

earth dragon rex igneous, met in season 4 at umber tor:

& ocean dragon domina profundis, to be met in season 5 at this landmark shell beacon thing:

therefore, by process of elimination, there must be another type of archdragon to be met likely in season 6 that’s tied to this location:

this dragon has to be either a moon or star arch dragon, by process of elimination.

if this dragon will be met in a flashback though, it is likely luna tenebris:

(see the resemblance in location?)

otherwise, if it’s to be met in real time with the plot progression by our main dra-gang, it’s still more likely to be a moon archdragon imo.

Why not a star dragon?

Additionally

as these dragons are either far from Xadia or intentionally repelled from it, it is highly unlikely we will ever meet one of these dragons.

However when it comes to Moon dragons?

There’s plenty of possibilities and subclasses/subspecies.

There’s also Luna Tenebris’s “unsuitable heir”, Os Lumina.

Os Lumina is a very rare type of dragon, a Phase Moon dragon, also sometimes known as a “Moon dust” dragon. She is only corporeal and fully tangible when her phase of the moon is occurring. In particular, Os is solid only during the crescent waxing moon—the phase during which she was hatched from an egg—and even then she only has one night to walk, communicate with others, and use her weak wings to fly a short height off the ground.

Anyway this isn't going to be that. This is the next instalment in Why the Dragons and Elves in the Dragon Prince are Fantasy Racists.

Exhibit: the Order of the Blood Moon.

Around the same time as Dragon Queen Luna was performing ethnic cleansing a sect of Moonshadow elves under her rule created a blood magic that artificially extended their lifespan and enhanced their abilities.

By which I mean they became vampires.

The principles of Dark Magic are the use of body parts (or life force) of magical creatures to perform magic.

The principles of the Blood Moon Order's magic is the consumption of blood in order to fuel their powers.

The same queen that exiled humanity, millions of people, for their "abuse" of magic sanctioned the practices of the Order!

Which include feeding directly from enemy combatants.

And once Thunder came to power and he abolished the Order, did he punish all Moonshadow elves for the actions of a handful?

No, of course not. Only actual members of the Order were exterminated. They're just a few bad apples.

Unlike Dark Mages who are living proof that all humans are inherently evil.

Speaking of human mages: The mage that built Aaravos' prison.

That's right, the archdragons brought in a human mage to be the architect behind the imprisonment of the most dangerous being in all of Xadia.

But that did nothing to change their opinion on humans. Because she was One of the Good Ones. She wasn't "one of them".

Aaravos the Bloodmoon killer

So based on this scene from the most recent clip I'm now wondering if Luna Tenebris was murdered during a Bloodmoon.

In Bloodmoon Huntress we learnt that the Moonshadow forest is much more dangerous for Moonshadow elves as on this night the illusions are much stronger, making it difficult for even Moonshadow elves to recognise them. And that because of this all Moonshadow elves, with the exception of the assassins and and a few others, stay in their villages, safe within their enchantments and protection spells.

We also know that the Bloodmoon also allows Moonshadow elves like Ethari access to powerful levels of Moon magic which they use to cast different spells and enchantments.

So what if Aaravos used this to his advantage? With almost all the Moonshadow elves keeping safe and celebrating in their villages and the assassins scattered throughout the forest on patrols, knowing that anything and everything they see could be an illusion. Plus Aaravos, being the only mage to master all primal magics, would also have his own Moon magic being at it's peak on this night.

So Aaravos uses sneaks up on Luna Tenebris, kill her and sneak away undetected, definitely using various Moon spells and enchantments as he does so.

And maybe he has help.

Because she's running around during the Bloodmoon and also does not care about anyone else's life except her own. So maybe Kimdael helps Aaravos kill Luna Tenebris. Perhaps because this rids her of the 1 foe that could stop her in her hunts.

This could also mean that Kimdael might have also taken some of Luna's blood for her own use. Maybe made her stronger and more powerful.

And the next day, after the celebrations are over and the dangers long past the Moonshadow elves venture out to see Luna Tenebris only to find her dead somewhere in the forest.

WILD AF THEORY but what if the elf girl that convinced Luna Tenebris to vanish the humans was a moonshadow elf? a moonshadow elf that was in love with a human and that's why she tried to convice Luna, to save her human. Would be a super juicy Rayla and Rayllum parallel because a lot of reasons but also this elf saved humanity for her love for a human and Rayla may doom the world for her love for a human

Plus he day was called "Judgement of the Half-Moon" and Rayla is nicknamed "New Moon" in the short stories.

I really dig this aesthetic and I wanted to really hone in on the tenebris part of her name this time around , but I think I didn’t add as many moon iconography / imagery this time around but maybe I’ll play around with her design in the future?
