I'm going to explain why 'Brain Scramblies' is my favorite episode of wwdits and a genius TV episode :

Simply because this episode is funny as hell and there are a lot of subtle references, I decided to list the ones I noticed from the most explicit to the most implicit :

Charmaine's name origin ¦

So her name is obviously taken from the movie Ocean's Eleven.

It's the name of a prostitute who helped the protagonists of the movie to get a badge from a technician who works in the casino.

She stole it from one of the technicians 'Edward' by using her charms (him being drunk and crazy in love with her)

In the same way that Sean fell madly in love with Charmaine in the show.

'Inferno' by Dan Brown ¦

In one of the rooms that Nadja ruins to find the Jade necklace that belonged to her mother, we see on a bedside table a book "Inferno" by Dan Brown.

This is the beginning of the Wikipedia summary : "Robert Langdon wakes up in the middle of the night in the hospital, almost amnesiac and having suffered a concussion. Nevertheless, all his other intellectual and psychic functions remain intact. Disoriented, with a head injury, he has no memory of the last 36 hours. 'The Golden Lily' by Richelle Mead ¦

After Sean has his brain in a pudding state and falls back in love with Charmaine again, this is one of the sentences he says to her :

"You are the most beautiful creature I have ever seen."

It is the exact beginning of a quote from the book "The Golden Lily" written by Richelle Mead, which talks about vampires.

"You are the most beautiful creature I have ever seen walking this earth. You have no clue of how beautiful you are or how brightly you shine"

Brief summary of the book :

"Sydney Sage is an Alchemist, one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of humans and vampires. They protect vampire secrets-and human lives."

This may have been the only way Sean could explain to his wife, in a fucked-up state, that the neighbors are vampires.

(The idea that Sean reads teenage romance vampire fiction is killing me 😭🤣)

'The Vampire Diaries' ¦

Sean's declaration of love is full of references, here is a new one :

He pronounced this while offering the Jade necklace : "It's a token of my undying love", an almost similar phrase was uttered in episode 2 of season 8 of the Vampires Diaries.

"[...]will you do me the honor of wearing this engagement ring, as a token of my love"

It's a proposal from Stephan, a vampire, and then the couple kiss in the same way that Charmaine and Sean kissed after he offered the necklace.

One of my favorite references, probably the most speculative :

'Mama Lucha' ¦

When he 'first' sees Charmaine, he exclaims this :

I found no meaning for this word, we could say that it's a compliment he invented thanks to his fried brain.

However, I think he exclaimed "Mama Lucha !", because after some research, it wouldn't surprise me if Sean, a hugefan of heist movies, is actually referring to this woman : "Luz María Endara Altamirano" better known by the alias 'Mama Lucha'

There is little information about this woman but in short she was "an Ecuadorian extortionist, who was prosecuted for the crimes of tax evasion and treason."

After her death it is said that : "In the San Roque market, where one of her houses is located and where she used to live, there is an atmosphere of amnesia. Most of the shopkeepers say they do not know her, they do not know who she is."

Might be a reference that in this episode Sean became amnesiac.

Even funnier, it is just possible that Sean just noticed that his wife shares a slight resemblance with the emblem of the supermarket Bodega Aurrerá also called "Mama Lucha" :

I’m really interested though in that take where Hunter’s sobs were louder and longer, mainly just to hear what it sounds like in comparison to the softer sob they went with. I do think the one in the episode was a great choice because that is the first time in the series Hunter has just let himself cry and, along with it happening behind his mask, the softer sobs give off him still trying to keep his emotions under control because that’s the moment where it hits him the type of support system he how has. Hunter carries a lot on his shoulders, he always has, and in that scene leading up to his break down, he makes it clear several times he just wants to keep everyone he cares about safe.

So for him, someone who always put the burden of being the protector on himself, to hear his friend tell him that he deserves protecting too and that he’s family, everything hits him all at once. It’s a slow but satisfying realization Hunter has that he’s genuinely cared for and he isn’t alone. For him to let himself be that vulnerable with Luz specifically, someone who never gave up on him, it goes to show just how far he’s come and how much his and Luz’s relationship has grown. That gentle sob is enough to show how much his walls have come down and how comfortable he is.

Breaking Hunter down like this was also something Zeno mentioned at NYCC, it was something he was always excited to do. He specifically says “making this cool kid break was like the funnest thing for me.” and I think that’s a sentence that really sums up Hunter’s character. He deals with a lot, he goes through a lot, we see the cracks in his persona slowly and then the mask and armor fully come off and we see the dorky kid who loves sci-fi and sewing and books. We break that cool kid golden guard down to get to the dorky, silly, and real Hunter that was hidden underneath, and I mentioned in my previous post that Zeno’s performance reflects all of that in every episode.

I think a minor overlooked thing with Hunter’s character is that, yes he deals with a lot trauma and loss, but he is an incredibly strong person. He’s gotten himself back up each time he was knocked down, and losing Flapjack is definitely the hardest thing for him but him being the one who takes charge to get back to the Isles is a huge because it shows just how strong he is. He lost his best friend but he’s still willing to fight because that is who he is. He’s tired of it, you can hear it so clearly in his voice, but he knows what he has to do in order to reach that freedom he craves.

He deserves a break, 100%, but there’s work to do, y’know.

Listen, I love amity.. BUT! I might trigger some Amity and Lumity fans so.. 😭 Season one Amity will always have more personality than seasons two and three combined.

As Luz said, she’s smart, cool, and classy. What made her such a fun character to me was the fact that she could be caring and protective under a sassy, powerful (her abomination and partial fire powers) exterior.

Lumity is great, but my gripe is the interaction between Luz and Amity (seasons 2-3). As different characters, they should be bouncing off of each other giving a character dynamic that’s perfect for shipping. Now they’re just kind of cute together.. and that’s about it.

My all time favorite Lumity moment is in, of course, season one where Luz first arrived to Grom. Amity wanted to thank Luz for taking the role of Grom Queen for her, and Luz cleverly remarks “You going soft on me, Blight?” In response, Amity, with her sass, laughs out “In your dreams!” This shows how fun the dynamic between these two can get, and it sucks that we don’t really have another moment like this in later episodes.

After season one, being Luz’s girlfriend was pretty much the only personality trait that Amity got. I don’t think she and Willow even had a proper moment to reconcile with past tension. She was just there as a love interest..

In the later seasons, I wish we had a more 3D Amity. She should have kept her sassy, strong punch, but she shouldn’t need to be a bully to do so. Her soft side for Luz should stay a SIDE of her, not her entire character. All these things should have been mixed together to create the perfect version of the character of Amity Blight.

Ahahahaha FUCK! I- I am not ok. Neither is my partner. We both cried.

No one died so that’s good at least. Belos went full monster mode and tbh I don’t really know what happened to him because I was crying.

The collector gives me gender and now my cosplans list for Owl House characters has gone up to three. And his pronouns being he/they just, yes.

I do like that King’s collar played into the collector and the eclipse and that it hid him from the collector and that his dad gave him that for protection. That was cool.

Also Kikimora redemption arc? Like while I still hate her she did end up helping in the end. If that’s not at least touched on in the season 3 specials I’ll be kinda sad.

The Amphibia Easter egg was a nice touch, especially after King basically sacrificed himself and thanked Luz for being a great big sister. I cried at that part.

I don’t think the collector will hurt King. I genuinely think they just wants to play with him, everyone else though….

I’m less worried for everyone on the Boiling Isles than before the episode because the draining spell was stopped and yeah, there will be side effects but I do think everyone will live. I’m also glad there was no traitor. I didn’t want to believe those theories and I’m glad I was right. And that leads me into Raine keeping their promise to Luz and protecting Eda! “I promised a special kid I’d take care of you.” 😭

I may have prematurely gotten excited when we didn’t see the sigil on Eda’s wrist when she was taking off and putting back on her hands and head but she did get it and that hurt but only for a second because actually thinking about the ‘couldn’t it just be an illusion’ thing it falls apart immediately and Eda really was the only person who could’ve stepped in for Raine. And even though it didn’t fully work it did when she was in the light pillar and would’ve if the coven heads didn’t switch positions.

So when Belos talked to Hunter that seemed pretty personal, like he was talking to his actual brother and he calls Hunter by his name, does that mean that that was his brother’s name? Also Flapjack was definitely Philip’s brother’s palisman. The way he looked at it and seemed like he was watching history repeat itself again was a little too personal. The palisman, choosing a witch (Willow) over him, history was repeating right in front of him. But also Hunter is still alive and I’m so relieved. I don’t think I could’ve taken it if he just melted as soon as he was through the portal.

But yeah, the collector is loose in the Boling Isles or what’s left of it, the kids are in the human realm with Luz’s mom (Amity seemed a bit too put together which is totally a trauma response), and now we have to wait who knows how long for the specials. This is fine.

Season 2B Thoughts (Spoilers)

Hey everyone,

So I haven’t done a Thoughts post on “King’s Tide” yet, but the large reason I do these posts is to inform my theories plus if I am being honest, I don’t have a lot of thoughts on this episode. Anyway, this post is gonna be a round up of my theories for what I think is likely to happen Season 3 and I’m gonna admit a lot of this centres around Lumity and Aladarius due to the focus of my blog.

To get started, when it comes to creating a portal back to the Boiling Isles, I feel like Luz, Amity, Gus, Willow and Hunter are gonna find themselves without the capability to make a portal in the Human Realm. I imagine there is gonna be a lot that happens on the Boiling Isles side where these 5 aren’t involved and will be feeling kinda helpless. The Collector has proven themself to be hella powerful, splattering Belos like a bug and even moving the moon with their finger. Even if the Collector isn’t a god, their powers are certainly on par with one. Also I have just realised, it seems like and is strongly alluded a titan is the only one with the power to trap the Collector. The Collector expresses it was King’s Dad who trapped them. This makes me wonder if the reason the Collector ran the group of Titan hunters, is perhaps he wanted to ensure there was no one who could trap them again.

I can easily see King, Eda, Raine, Darius, Alador and the CATs teaming up to take down the Collector and eventually open a portal to the Human Realm to get the kids back. And knowing Eda’s propensity to protect Luz, Darius’ to protect Hunter and Alador’s to protect Amity, neither of them will probably be willing to even entertain opening a portal until the Collector has been dealt with.

This being said, Luz has proven to be an incredibly motivated individual and despite the challenges, who knows maybe Luz will find a way to open a portal back to the Boiling Isles from the Human Realm. I wouldn’t put anything past her. I just doubt it will happen that way.

In terms of Alador and Darius, I still maintain they are exes and I believe there is a strong chance of them getting back together. It feels safe to say Alador and Odalia are through and as much as Odalia may come crawling back to Alador, now she has seen the Emperor’s plans were a lie, I doubt Alador will take her back at this point. I feel like in the end Alador and Darius will get back together and will be the loving parents Amity, Emira and Edric deserve.

Which brings me to Amity and Luz, I have always had the theory of Amity at the very least regardless of where Lumity is at the end staying on Earth. My belief she would go there to escape the Blight name. Now her Dad is listening to her though and being a father worthy of that title, I feel like Amity would be more willing to stay on the Boiling Isles, with her family and everything and everyone she knows. And many people have said, Luz’s place feels like it is on the Boiling Isles and I do agree. I feel what the end maybe, is them being able to create a stable portal so Luz can come and go from Earth as she pleases but where she stays on the Boiling Isles. Luz has friends there, she has a girlfriend there, she has a chosen family there and Alador has even said that Luz will always have a place in his home.

I can easily see the canon ending being Amity, Hunter, Edric, Emira, Alador and Darius living together in Blight Manor and Luz staying on the Boiling Isles either living in Blight Manor with Amity or in The Owl House. And that she regularly goes back to Earth to visit her mom.

Also just another idea that came to mind, regardless of Eda, Raine, King, Darius and Alador’s plan, the twins are still on the isles and may decide to attempt to create a portal to get their sister back.

That is where I think things are going right now though. I hope you enjoy 😊

The Owl House has left me feeling empty :')

I have so many thoughts and I need to put them somewhere. This is just me listing every moment in this episode that brought out an intense emotion from me. This list is also an excellent way to feel like you've watched the entire episode if you haven't watched it because I was screaming throughout so the list is essentially just a recap :D

Spoilers for the last ep!

1. The opening sequence nearly made me cry

2. Even though the fandom predicted that the Collector would turn to good because of friendship, it was still done beautifully

3. Luz's poofing into light did make me cry

4. CAMILLA CRYING AS A PUPPET EVEN THOUGH SHE HAD NO IDEA WHAT JUST HAPPENED BROKE ME

5. EDA AND KING'S RAGE HOLY SHIT THAT'S THE MOST POWERFUL THEY'VE EVER BEEN.

And them telling Collector to stay away

And them holding onto the last bit of Luz left

6. King's parent making it clear that they're a parent. I loved that. It reminded me of flowers that self pollinate :D

And you know what? I love that they chose to show this because this is a magical universe and mammal-like beings can self pollinate and lay eggs. I love it. 12/10 decision. It was a good reminder of the fact that this universe is fictional and it doesn't need to adhere to our rules.

7. King's dad in general. His attire. The pun. The parental protectiveness. The advice and simple-yet-extremely-effective approach to morality.

8. LUZ. CHOOSING. HERSELF. AFTER SEEING HER SELF ESTEEM CRASH AND BURN, HER CHOOSING HERSELF IS SUCH A BIG DEAL AND I LOVED IT SO MUCH

9. The battle. Eda being a good teacher and knowing exactly what her student was struggling with. King and Luz's amplified 'weh'. THEM FIGHTING TOGETHER. My heart cannot handle this show, I was screaming

10. THE COLLECTOR 😭

11. Amity being a fucking badass and freeing herself

12. Camilla telling everyone to take a break to deal with their burnout :D

Metty! Metty! It’s been a while (hope you’re well 😊) but what did you think of TOH’s ending?

Brainrot! Brainrot! I LOVED IT!

I was crying even before the episode began. I brought the episode up, started getting emotional, pressed play, and 1 second in I was already head-in-hands about how this is the last episode lol. But by the end I just felt so warm and happy that it was finishing with everybody getting happy endings

And the animation! The found family of it all! Luz's look was just SO 🤩🤩, and HUNTER MAKING PALISMANS! CAMILA AND EDA MEETING! HARPY LILITH! KING WANTING TO SEE THE COLLECTOR AGAIN! MY HEART, MY CHILDREN, I LOVE THEM. Eda becoming a headmaster?? She'd be so supportive of people who learn differently 😭

I was not prepared to hear Collector crying and being upset. My baby. My little one. I will protect him from everything bad in the world. That's my child of the stars now

Gotta admit, I laughed so hard when Belos tried to manipulate Luz again. He's so hopeless fr, and the way he died?? Slowly worn away by boiling rain and STOMPED TO DEATH by 2 witches in love and a Titan child LMAO It fits him

I'm only a little saddened by the reminder that Dana wanted to show more of the story in it's entirety and couldn't (*shakes fist at Disney*) but I can't reflect on that for long because the way this show ended was still so <3 <3 <3 despite it all

Aaaaa I'm just happy this series exists 😭

Look at Camila being all badass... she's ready to protect these kids with her life from the looks of it, and I'm here for it. This single mother has to raise so many kids now...

Okay. Luz. She looks like she's seen some shit (which she absolutely has...) and is no longer the kid we met in season 1. I don't know if I can handle her being emotionally and mentally unstable from her trauma for much longer, it's just so fucking heartbreaking to watch her go through everything that's happening to her. Hell, she doesn't even know if Eda is okay!!!! From the looks of it, she hasn't been sleeping well either. She's got eye bags that can rival Hunter's at this point, which really isn't good. (Unless that's the dramatic lighting with weird shadowing, so I could be wrong.) And if I'm not mistaken, Luz is turning into her beta design!

Honestly, I have mixed feelings about there being a new episode coming soon. I'm so fucking excited that the story is going to continue, and that it didn't flat out get cancelled after season 2. But I'm also super worried that the shortage of time that they're getting is going to affect the effectiveness of how the story is told. It was rough watching season 2B, since every single episode mattered. There was no chance for the show to be light and happy. It was all moving the story along, trauma heavy, and very clearly there was no time to mix in anything else. Don't get me wrong; it was still enjoyable to watch. I love this show so much. But, it was still not quite as enjoyable as it could have been.

And with the art, there seems to be a time skip, which means they probably had to cut out any filler content. Which means we won't get to see any of the crew exploring the human realm and trying to earn their bearings. We won't get to see Luz and Amity go on their date. (probably. Dana might find a way to get that in there, cause there was the kiss in the midst of everything else last season) We won't get all the fun filler. I have a feeling that this episode is going to kick right off in the middle of something, and that's just where it's gonna go, instead of easing us into the story, which they could have done with a full length season.

So yeah. I'm really really excited!! And my hopes are up, hoping that they're gonna be able to pull off the quality of show that they were able to do these past two seasons. But I'm also worried, and that makes me a little hesitant to get so excited.

THE OWL HOUSE SEASON 3 EPISODE 1 SPOILERS!!

I LOVE POSSESED HUNTER’S DESIGN!!! IDK WHAT BUT IT MADE ME FEEL SOOO????? I DONT FIND IT HOT BUT THE DESIGN LOOKED SO AWESOME AND COOL AND FANTASTIC, THE DESIGNERS KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING AND THEY DID IT PERFECTLY!!! Also he had brown eyes now!!! Does that mean he is human? He is no longer a grimwalker so is he a full witch now? I guess he would be more of a witch because him and flapjack kinda united and flapjack is made of magic and has magic so Hunter should have some magic as well. I think he would be able to teleport and blast stuff like how he used to do with flapjack.

LUZ!! Poor Luz, she blames herself even if she didn’t mean to harm anyone, she thought she was doing good but she was wrong and that led to her wishing she never existed and her blaming herself for the day of unity and her friends being away from their home and most of them being away from their families. Also the fact that she didn’t know what to do at first with possesed Hunter because she wanted to fight Belos but was too afraid of hurting Hunter was so wholesome because it shows that they are really close now and how she doesn’t wanna harm Hunter after how he’s been harmed all his life😭

VEE VEEE VEEEEEE!!!! I LOVED VEE’S DESIGN AND SHE WAS AWESOME!! She was really funny and I loved how she tried to help the others accommodate. Also I loved how she tried to fight Possesed Hunter even if she had no experience in actually fighting like how the others had a basic knowledge, magic and their palismen to help them.

Gus definitely knew that Hunter was a grimwalker but he chose to let him reveal it at his own pace and it was really sweet and considerate instead of Gus going to Hunter and being like “Bro why you lying about what you are? We’ll still accept you” because that might but Hunter off, so that was sweet.

Amity is such a nice considerate girlfriend❤️❤️ she tried to find Titian’s Blood for Luz so she can get home because Luz is really worried about Eda and King and I find that wholesome❤️❤️ Best Gfs❤️❤️ Also Amity not drawing Odalia in her family picture is such a girl boss move it shows how Amity cut Odalia out of her life, and that’s so great!

Tbh Willow didn’t stand out that much to me this episode, she was great and all but eh, she didn’t have anything going out for her this episode. I liked how she tried to help Amity, Gus and Vee to find the Titan’s blood. It shows how she is a great friends. Also love the fact that she was really concerned for Hunter after Belos left his body, it definitely shows how she cares for him.

CAMILA MY LOVE!! CAMILA WAS SO AWESOME IN THIS EPISODE!! She’s so accepting towards her daughter. She tried to do her best to keep Luz save from being bullied because she knows how bad being bullied can affect someone because she went through it and she didn’t want poor Luz to be affected in the same way as she was especially how Luz lost her dad and had to witness him slowly dying because of a deadly disease (possibly cancer) and she wanted Luz to be as happy as possible and protect her from bullying that’s why she wanted to send her to the summer camp. She wanted to make sure that Luz will not be bullied and was most likely pressured by the principal to send her to the summer camp. Because it’s kinda obvious that Camila herself doesn’t see what Luz does as anything wrong or weird. Anyways the fact that after she found out that Luz actually likes the BI she will allow her to stay there is so wholesome. When she made Luz promise to stay on earth she didn’t know how much Luz cared for the Boiling Islands but after months of Luz being back and Luz telling her mom so many nice stories of Eda, King, Hooty and her adventures on the islands it most likely made Camila realise that Luz actually lives the islands and she will allow Luz to stay there. Anyways Camila >>>> you.

Belos sucks @ss but that’s nothing new lmao.

Can’t wait for the new episode and I do hope it’s based on what happened on the boiling islands after the day of unity in the months in which Hexside were in the human realm because I really wanna know what happened to Eda, Raine and King and I wanna see what the Collector has done to the islands.

im like knee deep into a toh hyperfixation and especially after last week’s episode ive non stop thought about the idea of huntlow,, especially them like in the future in the early twenties being a couple.

also for context i hc both hunter and willow as bi because # self projection

like i can so see like as of the current point in the shows timeline hunter and willow are friends and then over the years get super close, like just as close as her and gus are and right about when willow gets out of hexside—-

(which i assume would be when shes 18 cuz to me hexside is just witch highschool and like rn in the show all of the main kids are in freshman year and if hunter went to hexside he‘d be an older sophomore but that’s just how it works in my mind)

Since we are still not in trending (I am not mad, just disappointed) and tumblr won't let me watch more than 4 the owl house posts (I am not- actually, you know what? I AM MAD) I've decided to give my 2 cents on the most recent episode!

Where to begin?

Can we take 5 minutes to appreciate this series' score? The one when Mittens goes to the rescue in STELLAR.

Now speaking of Mittens, I absolutely loved her this episode! Brave, adorable (the fairy pie 🥺🥺🥺) and extremely badass! I loved that she didn't immediately rebel to her parents, but when she did she was spectacular! When she knew Luz was in danger she went quickly to Willow and Gus, and that shows that she kind of bonded with them going after Luz's shenanigans. She apparently loves to do a very theatrical entrance when she has to save her crush... probably got that from her parents 😒😒

Can we talk about them? I think we should...

I've seen a lot of people discussing about them, especially about Alador. I don't have any kind of knowledge about abusive families, but I don't think we should just forgive him, you know? I don't care if you like him and want to make fanart or fanfiction, I even enjoy those, but I just feel like people are saying "no he's good Odalia did everything!" Like... no? He strikes me as a person who didn't even want kids! He didn't care about Amity's happiness at all, in this episode and in understanding Willow. Maybe he has a bit more of a moral code, but he did and still does abuse Amity. Also, what he said after the whole shitshow during the... show was "Amity is becoming strong" and not "Amity is becoming happier" or something like that. I think that if he was trying to protect Amity with that sentence the show would have been a lot more overt about it.

Also,,, Lilith experimenting with glyphs and Eda finally deciding to learn the basics?!??!?! THEY ARE LEARNING FROM EACH OTHER AND GROWING ANFOEOGDKGKFK 😭😭😭😭

Last but not least, let's appreciate Luz's friends being as feral and reckless as her 🥺🥺🥺

-CALLING IT RIGHT NOW, BELOS IS THE HUMAN THAT CAME TO THE BOILING ISLES, IT’S TOO OBVIOUS AND IT WOULD BE WEIRD IF HE WASN’T also he’s OLD AS BALLS if he was around by the time Gwendolyn’s great grandmother was around but didn’t come into power until 50 years ago so like...what the H happened around until then (but I’m also still open to the theory that “Belos is the monster that killed King’s father”, I’m on both sides here bc I just can’t make up my mind)
