Never forget.3
Taylor gave Karlie a shout out in the LWYMMD behind the scenes footage
Taylor picks up the sun 🌞 necklace and describes it as “subtle jewelry” (good joke)
She then does her face scratch tell. (You can tell a tell when the person is not really saying anything because she’s more concerned with showing you something).
When she scratches her nose you can see the VS Angel ring which she makes sure remains visible until the end of the clip
Then she says she’s going home to eat Chinese food with her cats
Taylor is a gem lol

Dude like... I’m thinking about the ending of the lwymmd music video where Taylor plays versions of herself that people created and then decided to hate and they’re all roasting each other and while yeah that was absolutely iconic, fuck everyone who perpetuated that??? Making fun of someone for being excited about being awarded for their art???? For not wanting to be called a bitch or highly sexualized when she had no control over how it would be perceived??? Fuck every single bit of that

Taylor's "squad" was also widely publicised, and widely criticised. Cosmopolitan provides a timeline; during the 1989 era, instead of focusing on her romantic life, Taylor turned the focus towards her friendships, particularly with other women. These included singers, models, actresses, and Lena Dunham as mentioned above. Most of these would appear on the 1989 tour with her as special guests. Every time Taylor was seen or photographed with a female friend, the media announced her induction into the "squad", while #SquadGoals was regularly used to refer to them. However, it was regularly accused not just of being fake, but of prioritising thin, white women, and being put together solely to further Taylor's brand. While it is certainly true that Taylor used her friendships and single status as part of her image for the 1989 era, the criticism at the time often accused Taylor of being friendless, and Camille Paglia even called her an "obnoxious Nazi Barbie". https://archiveofourown.org/works/15154880/chapters/44617597#workskin
