Giving some attention to the straights (poor souls), a difficult thing with the few female characters at my disposal...thoughts on L/Misa? And since you've been in the fandom for a while I'd be curious to know how ships involving Misa were treated back then 👀 I don't see much vitriol these days but I can't imagine it used to be the same

Hmm! I think LxMisa has some fun chemistry in the sense that they're both faves of mine and act like bratty 13 year olds around each other, and I can imagine quite a few entertaining moments and circumstances between them in canon and whatnot. But my take is ALSO that L was canonically a HUGE asshole to Misa (he treated her much worse than Light did! Even though that seems to rarely be acknowledged in fandomland), and I don't think he actually liked her at all, whether or not he maybe thought that she was hot (and in the manga that's not even something that is really implied). Though I think the two of them being pals or hooking up casually or something could be entertaining, I don't ship it in the way like I want them to genuinely fall for each other and get together or something. Just holds absolutely no deep/longterm relationship interest as a ship for me.

Hahaha, well from what I remember back in the day Misa was mostly either treated like she did not actually exist or was hated on immensely for "getting in the way of lawlight" so yeah I think people have def gotten a little less intense about this and positive toward her over time!

A looong time ago, my 12 years old self always imagined how nice it’d be  if Misa and L fell in love and she lived at Wammy’s house with him and  his succesors...all the hijinks that would ensue, but could never figure  out how and why. Anyways, reading fanfic, specially Kandrak and Gigantomachy Has inspired me and now i Can go ham on my headcanons LOLOL. I'm sure my teenage self would be happy
