Oh ABSOLUTELY Dean. Unless he is going thru it, he's out not long after his head hits the pillow. Which is very annoying to Jo personally, because it takes her a little while to fall asleep.

Dean is like a cactus, meaning he needs fuck all. Like. Growing up on the road, having to sleep in the car and in different places all the time, I think noise and comfort level is not an issue for him at this point. Obviously he prefers his memory foam mattress (it remembers him) but he can fall asleep anywhere. Similarly, Jo grew up living above a bar so I don't think noise is an issue for her either, I think a lack of noise is a problem for her. She needs Something. TV works.

I think she's used to a certain level of comfort though and it's hard to get used to sleeping somewhere new at first, especially uncomfortable motel beds.

Temperature I think is something they argue over. Dean likes it on the warmer side, Jo likes it on the colder side. Eventually they compromise (Jo's way) and keep it colder which gives Dean an excuse to snuggle with her to keep warm.

I've said this before but when it comes to bedtime, I think Dean's like a dog in the way he just plops down and sleeps. I don't think he has a ritual, he's just out like a light. But I think Jo likes to watch TV or read before bed (it depends on her mood) and Dean sometimes will join her and watch whatever she's watching or read with her before he falls asleep

“Oh, hold still. You’ve got an eyelash.”

Belle froze and unconsciously tilted her chin up as Adam gently removed the stray eyelash with his thumb and index finger. Before he could flick it away, she put her hand on his. “Wait! Have to make a wish now.”

His eyebrows drew together. “What?”

“You’ve never done that?”

“Make a wish? Because of an eyelash?”

“Yeah!” Belle chuckled.

“I’ve heard of wishes on stars, but I’m afraid that’s as far as my wishing knowledge goes.”

“Well, this is similar,” Belle began. “You close your eyes, make a wish, and then blow it away.”

“Okay… And who makes the wish? The owner of the eyelash or the one who recovered it?”

“Why don’t we both make the wish?”

Adam couldn’t help but roll his eyes and smirk. “Seems silly.”

“It is! You need more silliness in your life.”

The man couldn’t quite argue with her — mostly because he didn’t know how to quantify silliness at all. “Fine,” he said.

Belle smiled. “Alright, close your eyes.”

Adam watched as she closed her eyes, and then he followed suit, still holding the eyelash between them. They were silent for only a handful of seconds, making their secrets known to the universe.

“All done?” Belle asked.

Adam opened his eyes, meeting hers and blushing a bit. “Yeah, I made my wish.”

“Good. Now we blow it away.”

Their faces drew closer and they blew on the eyelash together, watching as it vanished from Adam’s finger in the blink of an eye — off into the wind, carrying their little desires out to the world.

“Hm,” Adam hummed, standing upright again. “I felt quite like a child just then.”

Belle laughed and clapped a hand on his arm. “Good!!”

He couldn’t help but chuckle in response. Belle took his hand and they continued their walk back to the castle.

“So, what did you wish for?”

“Oh, I can’t tell you that!” Belle said. “That’s the biggest rule of wishing! If you tell, it won’t come true!”

“God, I didn’t know there were so many regulations involved in this. Pray you forgive my ignorance.”

She giggled and swung their hands between them. “Stick with me and you’ll learn in time, love.”

Adam grinned and squeezed her hand, letting out a laugh lighter than air.

Of course! Happy Halloween, sweet friend! I hope you don’t mind a little glimpse into the future with an older Bradley and Mrs. Bradshaw! 🥰

“Here you are, Mrs. Bradshaw,” Bradley grinned as he lowered himself beside you on the front steps of your home, handing you a new bag of candy to pour into the large plastic bowl you had resting on your lap.

“Why thank you, Captain Bradshaw,” you teased in return, smiling at your husband as you tore open the bag, stealing a small piece of chocolate for yourself before you replenished the bowl for the trick-or-treaters.

Bradley wasn’t as subtle—he reached over and grabbed a fistful of candy, tearing open a bag of mini M&Ms before you could slap it out of his hands.

“Bradley Bradshaw!” you scolded, trying very hard to mask the look of amusement on your face as you glared at the extremely childish man you had married.

“What?” he asked, feigning innocence as he poured the contents of another bag of M&Ms into his mouth like it was nothing.

“These are for the trick-or-treaters, not for you,” you laughed, swatting at his hand as he tried to reach for more. “If you’re hungry, there’s still plenty of granola and fruit inside. Very heart healthy.”

“Ugh, getting old sucks,” Bradley pouted, sighing dramatically as he rested a hand on your knee.

“You’re telling me,” you lamented, running a hand through your hair, which was now streaked liberally with strands of gray.

“You’re not getting old, honey. Just aging like fine wine,” your husband grinned, leaning over to give you a tender kiss.

“Sure, we’ll go with that,” you chuckled, the laugh lines around your mouth and eyes deepening as you smiled.

Bradley opened his mouth to respond, but was suddenly interrupted by the sound of small voices babbling excitedly as they hurried up your walkway.

“Well look what we have here, baby!” he exclaimed enthusiastically, smiling at the sweet faces that were beaming up at the two of you. “A princess, a dinosaur, a skeleton, and a ladybug!”

“Wow!” you cooed, your heart warming at the sight of the precious little ones standing before you. “Very impressive!”

“Trick-or-treat!” they chorused, holding up their little pumpkin buckets, already filled nearly to the brim.

You and Bradley filled their buckets with a few pieces of candy each, laughing in delight as they whooped and cheered excitedly.

“Happy Halloween,��� you told them brightly, waving as they turned and hurried back to their parents after thanking you and Bradley sweetly.

Sighing softly, you set the bowl of candy down on the step beside you and turned to look at Bradley. “Don’t you miss it? Having little ones like that?”

Bradley’s eyes softened as he looked at you, brushing your hair behind your ear. “Yeah, I do,” he nodded, wrapping an arm around you and pulling you against his chest. “Our kids were pretty damn adorable when they were that small.”

Halloween had always been a big affair in your household, but it was quieter now that Goose and Lydia were away at college, and James wanted to spend all his time with his high school buddies. You and Bradley were still learning how to adjust to this new phase of your lives.

“It makes me happy, seeing all the trick-or-treaters,” you murmured softly, resting your head on your husband’s shoulder. “It makes me think about all the wonderful times we had when the kids were growing up.”

“It really was wonderful, wasn’t it?” Bradley whispered, rubbing soft circles on your back. “Damn, I miss our babies being babies.”

“Me, too,” you admitted, getting a little teary-eyed as you thought more about it.

The two of you were quiet for a couple minutes before Bradley broke the silence with a low chuckle.

“C’mon now, we don’t want to scare the trick-or-treaters away. A couple of oldies sitting on their front porch, crying into the candy,” he joked gently, lightening the mood.

“Who are you calling old? I thought we were aging like fine wine,” you smirked, poking him in the side.

“You are,” Bradley insisted, grinning as he bumped his nose against yours, his mustache tickling your upper lip. “I’m not so sure about me.”

“Oh, shut up, you’re still as sexy as the day I met you,” you told him, wrapping your arms around his neck and pressing a kiss to his lips.

Just then, you heard soft giggles and a few cleared throats. Turning your heads, you and your husband found that there was a new group of children standing at the bottom of your steps.

FAQ

I made an FAQ about Commissions, online store, brushes etc here a while ago! I'll do a more informative pinned post for people who access tumblr only from their dash, so please refer to the FAQ here under the cut.

What program do you use?

I use Adobe Photoshop CC and Procreate. Photoshop for painting and colouring, Procreate for sketching and inks. 

What brushes do you use?

I can’t share most brushes since I bought them ages ago and don’t have the source for them anymore, sorry. For Photoshop, I use flat or rake brushes, and one flat, calligraphy-like one that tilts with pen sensitivity, and an airbrush that has some kind of grainy paintspray effect. For Procreate, I most commonly use Max Ulichney brushes for textury brushes, standard procreate pencil brushes and Joe’s Fine Ink Line for inks. 

Do you do commissions?

Not right now, no. If I do, I’ll announce it, but on Patreon first. 

Do you have a patreon?

Yes, you can find it here. Support is much appreciated. 💛 

Do you have an online store?

Yes, thought it’s currently closed. Will reopen hopefully in 2024, for abouth a month. Later half of the year more likely.

What’s Heart of Gold? 

Heart of Gold is a mystery/drama webcomic with overarching religious themes that revolves around the tenuous relationship which grows between the main characters Dunant and Ionel.

Is Heart of Gold on Hiatus? Will I be able to purchase volume 1 and 2 in print someday? 

Yes, it’s on hiatus. We sell volume 1 at conventions, and will do our best to sell it online as well. There are some plans for volume 2 in print.

What about your Curse of Strahd campaign/CoS art?

I love to share about our campaign! I have an artbook about it, or rather, the relationship between my PC Kasper and the NPC Lydia. I’d like to make a 2nd volume of it, and maybe something more gen too in print. Feel free to ask… Hoping to do more stuff for it, as always with a big LydiaKasper & Fiona focus haha

How do you color/do you pick your colors?

Honestly, I just experiment a lot. Use the color wheel! Look at how other artists you like use colors! This helps me more than anything. This, and curves sometimes. I’ve been planning to do a tutorial for patreon for a while now, but haven’t gotten around it yet.

What pronouns do you use?

They/Them and He/Him.

If they went, it would certainly be Jo's idea. Dean would have so many problems with Starbucks oh my gosh. He'd try to order a large black coffee to-go and it'd be a whole ordeal. They don't have larges, they have grande or venti, they'd say. They'd ask him if he wants it brewed or Americano. It's too pricey. All around, he is Annoyed by the end of it and grumbling about it for awhile afterwards

Jo would get (depending on the weather) either a chocolate cream cold brew if it's hot out or a cinnamon dolce latte any other time of year

Dean wouldn't admit how good the coffee is because he's too annoyed about everything else that happened

Even though the new fic *airhorns* is about the day he was actually born, I think the wild festivities of this gif is drawing me to a birthday when he’s much older. Maybe his nineteenth.

I just see him standing in the middle of a ballroom, lively and full of dancing smiles. He’s wearing a silver white suit with golden flare, he’s got a champagne flute in his hand and he’s grinning wide as he tells his friends a long story that ends with a hilarious punchline. Among these friends are his best friend, Xavier. And Eloise. Dear Eloise. Maurice is in love with Eloise, he keeps looking at her as he tells his story, making sure she’s ready, making sure she’ll laugh. It really only matters if she laughs anyway.

His sisters are here too, talking with friends or their husbands. His nieces and nephews have been tucked in for the night, but they went insane earlier in the day, tackling their uncle to the ground as they wished him the happiest birthday.

His parents are here. They’re talking to each other, because the king can hardly stand all these young people, and the queen has already made her rounds. They glance over to their son. Nineteen years old, their dear sunshine. His hair is golden, bright like his personality and his mind.

Belle squeezes her husband’s hand just as the crowd around their son bursts into laughter. “He’s got your humor.”

“Hm,” Adam hums. “And your confidence.”

The party carries on well into the night, with drinks flowing and dances lasting longer than the songs. Maurice catches his parents’ eyes from across the room. They nod proudly, he smiles and nods back. In a flash the moment is over as one of his friends from his school days is tugging on his arm to hear another story. He laughs, happy and full of life. As he’s been since the day he was born.

WIP Wednesday 💛

So, in spite of the absolute disaster that has been my life over the past few days, I've finally today been able to keep myself together enough to get words written down for the start of Chapter 16 of The Perfect Storm.

I've been tagged by @oblivions-dawn and @thequeenofthewinter, but I'm not going to tag anyone back at this point though do feel free to tag me in any WIPs... I love to read them! 💛

The pursuit of relaxation was becoming harder and harder for Elyse – no matter where she went and what she did, something would always need to be done or crop up at the most inconvenient of times, just like the recent events at the Honningbrew Meadery.

She was contemplating seeing whether she could just lock herself away in Breezehome for a while just for some peace, but a weird feeling of melancholy settled in when she thought of her home – she had only been in Dragonsreach for a few weeks, a few months at best, but it almost didn't feel like hers any longer. Almost none of her belongings were there from when she helped Lydia tidy after the roof repairs, and it felt more like her housecarl's home than her own afterwards. But Dragonsreach was not her home either. Her existence there was temporary, even if for the long-term, and that thought lingered persistently at the back of her mind. And that wasn't even getting started on the mess which was Lakeview.

Instead of choosing to venture out to wind down though, she instead decided to stay within her temporary home of Dragonsreach to see what more there was to do there. Before long, she found herself sat in the main hall in a table tucked away in a corner, with a few select books she had picked up from the nearby shelves.

She did had to admit though... watching things unfold as Balgruuf handled his daily audiences had their moments on the occasions where they managed to catch her attention.

Some were enough to tug at the corners of her lips because they were quite silly and handled incredibly well by him – including a hunter who had dragged in her 'proof of killing sabre cats which were plaguing the hold', saying that he had put a bounty out for it… just for him to ask Proventus when the last time he had put out a bounty with regard to the creatures, and it turning out to be five years prior and long-since completed. She had overheard the woman grumbling about having to get a refund as she was escorted out by guards.

Other times though… she would wince, because they were just painful to listen to. There were a few occasions where somebody would come in and yell at Balgruuf for not picking a side in the war, where she could see him trying to keep a straight face and a sympathetic ear depending on the circumstances of their need to shout at him, but ultimately having to dismiss each of them because he had no intentions of dragging Whiterun into war until the time came that there would be no other option.

It was during one of the latter scenarios, when she was silently listening as somebody tried to persuade the Jarl of the importance of siding with the Empire, that she ended up with company. She didn't actually notice until a quiet voice piped up from beside her.

"He likes to brag about that sometimes. It's probably because he feels pathetic in comparison."

Body tensing up, Elyse quickly turned her head to the side before letting out a small sigh. Nelkir was glowering at the book in her hands, huffing quietly as she tried to process what he had just said. "I- I'm sorry, what…?" She closed the book, and glanced at the cover for a moment. Olaf and the Dragon. "Who likes to brag about what, exactly? Owning a history book?"

The boy already seemed exasperated at her response. "My father, obviously. He likes to brag that we are descendants of Olaf, and that Dragonsreach is all important… But he's just a foolish old man who can't make decisions except stupid ones, and uses the past to feel all high and mighty."
