I found an unbred 3yo male Caribbean/Violet/Obsidian Arcane g1 today and my mind is fucking blown.

Lydo is Carib/Purple/Obs, (#CLOSEENOUGH) but I was in AH 3 times today and I don’t think HE WAS THERE WHEN I LOOKED BEFORE. I mean I joked with myself today like “Yeah sure I’ll totally make a Lydo... if I can find a g1 version of him...” So. With current genes, one of these combos. :T

@orkraken So’s you know, I’ve been continually, albeit casually, looking for “Lydolians” for years now. Any dragons of Lydo’s colors. Though I have and have had a few “near” colors, stick around with him in his castle here and there. The whole carib/purple/obs is actually part of his lore, especially as the first of that combo on the site was an arcane tundra. I made it a key point in my lore, that Lydo is essentially a reincarnated powerhouse of ancient times, at least by modern breed standards. :’B But I am VERY thankful you put that fella out when you did. I’d been looking hard at other arcanes for lore reasons, but had skipped looking at anything past 400g each time, until I said “screw it” and looked ONE LAST TIME, clutching my small pile of shiny rocks. lol It actually worked out awesomely though, splurging what I did. I sold a double in a Good/Bad Decision hatching spree of arcane eggs that were technically supposed to have been canonically how Lydo steered his damn floating mountain. lmao

I imagined Lydo at the helm like, “It’s fine. We need not 12. 11 is good and I shall be the last! *The Heavy Voice* I AM AM STRONGGGG!” 30 minutes later, small pink-eyed children are sliding back and forth as a floating mountain slowly lists to the left and drags out a gulch in the desert for 3 miles. “THIS IS FINE.” His muscles are bulging and he’s radiating slightly pinkish heat waves and vapor, “FOUR EGGS IS FINE FOR CARDINAL DIRECTIONS.” Tiny children slowly slide to the right behind him like, “WEEEEE!!!!”

Happy Danger!Fluffs Day

My veteran buddies in my server know I have been wary of how Ancient Primordial Breeds would be handled since it was first brought up that they would be a tangible thing, and I’m cautiously optimistic still how this is going to go long term... but one thing is very nice: The female Danger!Fluffs look lovely. They are tough yet soft and I find that a comfort and truly enjoyable thing. Also, hi. lol And no, Lydo is not becoming one. Anyone that has seen my old art of him knows that his original/natural Tundra form and his magically evolved self actually coincidentally resemble Gaolers, and have even before they were a thing. lol I did it before it was cool!™ But yes, hello, I still play FR and never left. I just don’t blog anymore because my depression is too severe and ever-present and I can’t handle crowds and high activity anymore. /Stares into space with deadpan expression. Y e

I’ve had some friends suggest that despite my fear or sharing detailed text posts or even blogging, because of the crazies out there I should really start sharing lore stuff again. And I mean I took a semi-hiatus the last 2 years while helping build an awesome nerd group of nearly 9k people, and playing as much as much Pathfinder/D&D as possible, which I have barely been able to do for at least 2-3 months because my friends lives are not doing great I’ve been back to dragoning for a good number of months now, though it’s basically me babbling in my FR discord server with my buddies like @nabesima, @diseaseapedia, @itsalwayssunnyineverbloom, @crowefr, @pixeldraguns, etc... But I do honestly miss it. My clan has actually been shifting and changing quite a bit. Lydo... I suppose technically has a clan of his own, or casual employee-friends that live with him in Cragrose Keep, his rocky-pink-crystal-floaty-mountain-castle that has been just casually drifting around the border of Khuleborough territory for the last few years. His Black Tulip gardens are producing a growing number of flowers that get up and walk around when no one is looking. His niece is no longer the only relative living with him; his nephew has newly arrived. And his grandfather may be joining him as well in the near future! A large chunk of khuleborough is now somewhat “secretly owned and operated” by a deep-dwelling monarchy of Ice dragons. I mean they’ve technically always been there, but now there’s more of them. lol There are way too many plague dragons in the vicinity. Like record highs of them. Not everyone is pleased. Bloodwin is. And the clan chef is plague, but don’t insinuate his cooking will make people sick or he’ll serve your limbs for dinner. There’s a mad scientist that’s moved in. Nobody invited him, but he’s there anyway. Even the guy that tries to embody Stormcatcher can’t stand him. There is a small herd of Centaurs inhabiting the area, parading around as G1 dragons. They are known as “Brechbans” (breck-ben), aka “The Breach Band” Centaurs. No, they aren’t a rock group, but they do live in Earth flight. HO HO. The master blacksmith and backbone of Medira is dating a Manticore, but they’re using magic to hide the fact from everyone else. They just think she’s his forge assistant. lol There’s a junk peddler named Josiah that’s just arrived and he seems to be an amalgamation of both Crim and Pinkerton. There’s a Maren Warlock in from the ‘Reaches that’s beached itself and is stealthing around and is working on presenting himself as trustworthy and knowledgeable Arcane mage.

I’ve become g1 and Ancient dragon collecting garbage. lol I’m remaking my accent shop and will be working on reprints pretty soon and getting around to submitting the other finished ones I never sent in. (No seriously, I mean it. I plan to start reprints in the next few weeks.) I think that’s most of my updates for the moment...

Gaolers might actually get me to sketch dragons again, tbh. Even Lydo evolved by arcane means over the years (canonically) to resemble a much more ferocious and foreign rendition of a Tundra. That was actually always a thing. I feel so prepared for this, it’s kind of relieving in a way. lol (Old pencil sketches in my #Lydorune tag.)

Every year. Literally once every year. I message the owner of Lydo’s single unexalted child and ask if they’d be interested in letting me adopt her back. For the first time, lair #264 is inactive, all the dragons, starving. But they have links to their tumblr blogs so I’m messaging there this time. Fingers crossed that they don’t get sick of seeing me show up again.

I’m not doing it right ¾ of my clan are single

Me neither tbh... 60/85 of my permanent adult canon dragons are single. And 68/ 85 are unbred and/or canon virgins. lol So roughly, only 20 of my dragons are ever getting laid.

<afterwards note> I’M SORRY BUT THIS BECOMES A LORE POST NOW BECAUSE REASONS. BECAUSE WRITING HAPPENED. </afterwards note> And then I just went to tally sexes and got a whopping 61 single males and only 24 single females. But then this attempt to count got skewed the moment I looked at my dragons and did a double-take after I thought, “let’s count the men and women” and had this epiphany that I have changed so much as a person since I first went on hiatus from FR, that I now realized “well damn. HOW MANY ENBY DERGS I GOT LURKIN’ UP IN HERE”. And I am going to have to make up an entirely new dragon census for my lair. Like the sadness and guilt hit me that I know I’ve probably got a bunch of androgene dudes and genderfluid ladies everywhere. And I used to really awkwardly be like “well my lair is mostly hetero and ace dragons” and quietly left it as that for most cases, but since I have been gone I actually found out a ton about myself. Like I’m actually asexual and genderfluid. Plus I’m autistic. And I look at my dragons now and it’s like

Well... fuck. That explains EVERYthing.

Like even the fact I’m terrified of breeding my dragons on a whim or by mistake somehow if they aren’t a profit/profit lore pair. I am literally a virgin and RL thoughts of having sex scare and upset the hell out of me. I actually regret ever breeding Lydorune. Because as he became such an important part of my lore and the dragon in my lair I kind of emotionally identify with, he went from “big sexy flirt” to “big sexy flirt but rarely ever has any sex and is more about sensual cuddles most the time”. HE ACTUALLY HAS A MATE. LIKE HE’S BEEN DATING AN ALLIED CLAN’S LEADER FOR 2 OR MORE YEARS NOW. Lydo visits her periodically and sends letters and gifts, and they have nice dinners and there’s some hilarious protectiveness in that relationship, and they send one another sexy and nonsexy gag gifts and things, but I don’t think they’ve actually done the deed, canonically. And neither of us want to send our dragons out of our lairs anyway which is also funny. And what’s interesting is Lydo isn’t technically ace? Or he wasn’t ever planned to be??? I think by this point I’d call him demisexual and technically polyamorous, but living with monogamy because his datemate is strictly monogamous and he doesn’t want to destroy their relationship, even though he feels... uh, itchy... for more happening in their relationship sometimes. I think all the arcane energy he deals with sends him into a kind of aceflux state. @nabesima I’m sorry but my brain leaked lydo lore. :’D

This is probably tru canon tbqh. He had very close ties with clan Euxenite long ago, but his meddling with arcane magics got more intense as he got settled into his role as a kind of informal ambassador of Khuleborough, and during the harpy wars of Euxenite’s territory, he was seen as a sort of traitor of sorts or possible threat for a while, so he laid low and gave them space. I don’t think (storywise) he’s heard anything from that region in a very long time, so he just kind of keeps this scroll in locked chest of ancient secrets and memories. Only maybe one or two other dragons of the clan know it exists, one of which was a child of Euxenite veeeeeryyyyy long ago, that might be older than most of the current residents of the clan themselves. (I would have to check ages to be sure.)
