Ah thank you so much!! I would love some author or story recommendations!! I’ve been away from tumblr/the fandom for quite a few years now, so much of what I was aware of have gone quiet now. I’m looking forward to jumping back in!! :)

Okay...oh, now IDK where to start. Everybody I link has more stories you should check out. And I really don't mean to leave anyone out, but most definitely will.

I'm going to start with some oldies that you might have read, but the first two are much less sweeping and modern AUs.

*Wavebreeze's Girl at the Museum (Modern AU)

*CrazygurlMadness' To Those Who Wait (TP modern AU), but they also have a Long BotW story

*Lyxie's Into the Woods (AU fantasy setting)

These are some pillars of BotW fic. The first tow are sweeping, but the last two are one-shots:

*Starkraving's Interim (post BotW, and Ganondorf is there. Note that this is incomplete)

*Meriandr's Rise (Pre-BotW. Unfinished, but still so good. I actually like their story Strand more tho.)

*Honest Ground's Practical Anatomy (post-botw funny smut. All their stuff is good)

*Advocaat's On Propriety and Unconventional forms of Communication (Post-BotW)

Some newer stuff that isn't getting enough attention:

*ClaraAeri's Bolt from the Blue (Post BotW. All their work is lovely)

Hi! I’m so excited that you’re excited about TI’s sequel! As far as some zelink fanfiction goes, I’ve got some suggestions below! Many of the multi-chapters you’ve probably already read, but there’s some short stories, some WIP’s, and some one-shots as well I find myself drawn back to because ugh its so good. Fluffy Zelink, painful Zelink, a dash of smut, you name it! Also many of the authors listed here have a ton of other works that are also great, these are just my favorites!

@intangiblyyourswrites is working on a SerialKiller!Link zelink AU that I’m way too excited about. We need more dark! and angry! Link in this fandom, alongside our fluffy Zelink.

K+. I loved watching Zorro movies when I was younger. This is basically that but with LOZ characters and I am obsessed. 

Grief by Lyxie

K+. The angst in this one is delicious. It’s really good and the author does a fantastic job with showing Zelda and Link struggle post BOTW.

A Change of Plans by CrazygurlMadness

T. I recommended this one before and I’ll do it again. Angsty, heart-melting, funny. Modern AU. What else can I say?

Highmoon by Lyxie

K+. If you’re still on the modern AU kick, this is perfect. It’s a bit of a slow burn, but I love it. Big roadtrip and it makes me so jealous of Zelda, that’s how good Link is written.

On Propriety and Unconventional Avenues of Communication  by Advocaat

T. Good as hell post-BOTW. Slow burn-y and I won’t spoil the big plotline of it but read it. That’s all I have to say. (Guys, I’m not good at this at all.)

T. Sososo good if you’re looking for a wolf!Link fic. I adore the arch of Zelda’s character. We have mysterious man Link during the day and protective, good wolf at night. I love it.

T. Good as hell and totally a big motivation for Trials and Tribulations. I think I cried when I first read through it, but it’s very sweet don’t worry - I’m just a huge sap.

K+. GUYS. Princess Bride and LOZ put together. Anything that has to do with a mysterious man in a mask has my heart. I’m a simple woman. (It’s book length and will suck you in)

Calm Waters Run Deep (linked)! It’s amazing and the best thing that I’ve read for BotW (and I’ve gone through every...single...fic..that focuses on Link and Zelda for the botw universe on both ao3 and ffn lmao). Spot on characterization, good writing, the perfect balance of pain and softness. I love it so much. ;__;
