Virgo Cluster Galaxies - November 13th, 1995.

"Pictured are several galaxies of the Virgo Cluster, the closest cluster of galaxies to the Milky Way. The Virgo Cluster spans more than 5 degrees on the sky - about 10 times the angle made by a full Moon. It contains over 100 galaxies of many types - including spirals, ellipticals, and irregular galaxies. The Virgo Cluster is so massive that it is noticeably pulling our galaxy toward it. The above picture includes two galaxies that are also Messier objects: M84 and M86. M84 is the bright elliptical galaxy just above the center of the photograph, and M86 is the bright elliptical galaxy to its right."

Explanation: Galaxies of the Virgo Cluster are scattered across this nearly 4 degree wide telescopic field of view. About 50 million light-years distant, the Virgo Cluster is the closest large galaxy cluster to our own local galaxy group. Prominent here are Virgo's bright elliptical galaxies Messier catalog, M87 at bottom center, and M84 and M86 (top to bottom) near top left. M84 and M86 are recognized as part of Markarian's Chain, a visually striking line-up of galaxies on the left side of this frame. Near the middle of the chain lies an intriguing interacting pair of galaxies, NGC 4438 and NGC 4435, known to some as Markarian's Eyes. Of course giant elliptical galaxy M87 dominates the Virgo cluster. It's the home of a super massive black hole, the first black hole ever imaged by planet Earth's Event Horizon Telescope.

A sneak peek

went with @bureau-of-mines to pick up this H&R A1 Lower for the Mod.H build today

I gotta say, the original plan was just to repaint the entire gun, but the lower came out so nicely that I cannot in good faith paint over the lovely grey finish with black accents

I will probably repaint the upper or the toob at the very least, but for now, this lower's staying clean

At this point, all the build needs now is an Atlas BT10 V8 Bipod and a PRI M84 Charging Handle before I call it complete

Quick Look: 'H' is for Hot and Huge in Chandra Image A giant black hole has blown two bubbles in the hot gas surrounding it in the M84 galaxy. The result is a structure in X-rays that looks like the letter “H”. The “H” shows up in an image from NASA’s Chandra X-ray Observatory. Jets from the black hole pushed the hot gas aside to create this unusual outline.
