ur sweet thanks for asking!! :,) ok if u mean recently as in “new bands” im a bad resource bc im not up w whats new the way i was before i got into western music a couple years ago BUT

my alltime fav japanese band EVER is galileo galilei!!! theyre not together anymore tragically but i recomend natsuzora, aoi shiori, climber, all of PORTAL and PARADE (albums) lol love them

i also rly like kenshi yonezu!! hes blown up in popularity the last few years which is insane bc i remember listening more than a decade ago when he was a vocaloid producer named hachi lol *wipes tear* his popular songs are all great but i rly like the 2014 album YANKEE too!!!

as for newer/popular current bands id say yoasobi is like The moment here rn lol but i like them too….. mrs. GREEN APPLE is also good (i like wanteD wanteD); king gnu is catchy; KANA-BOON is a classic (naimono nedari THEE song); macaroni enpitsu is like kind of having a moment rn?? i guess its not super current but i like yorushika and sekai no owari too!! :3

#okay in the process of typing this i realized i actually do know current bands i just havent listened to them obsessively like the old ones #i always feel so disjointed and random giving japanese music recs bc mome are ALL over the place across genres and decades lol TT #*mine #anyway i hope this helps and u find one u like!!! thanks for asking :’)#mail time!

Random Stuff Today

I've been listening to Macaroni Enpitsu's song called, "Nandemonaiyo" and it's made me miss Japan even more. I miss my warm "futon" and going to a public bath in the winter. At lunch time, my husband and I went for chicken mushroom pie and fish and chips at a British cafe close to where we live. We enjoyed the food. Yuuchan said he ate savory pies and fish and chips quite a lot when he was in the UK. After lunch, we went back home and had coffee I brewed with the coffee brewer my best friend gave us as a wedding gift. ..... I cooked pasta and made salad for dinner. It was pretty good. .... We wanted to play tennis. I called several places. The phone just kept ringing... I miss Japan even more, especially when things get so inconvenient and clerks at the grocery stores prioritize chatting with each other over giving my change back. I think the first thing I want to do when I go back to Japan is go to a supermarket to see the polite "obasan" clerks and get a chance to appreciate their politeness and hospitality I failed to do when I was still living in Japan. Also, I can't stop thinking about work because I have a lot of tasks I need to complete on Monday. Another thing --- I made Yuuchan ask ChatGPT questions. He thought it was cool.
