This site is terrible at boycotting. You guys immediately jumped on the "Big 3 Boycott" for Palestine when we're supposed to be boycotting 13 companies. The amount of people I have seen that have been crying about the Big 3 Boycott and then don't say shit about these other companies is ridiculous.
Starbucks is being boycotted because Starbucks employees since they are suing their union over pro-Palestine Tweets. Disney isn't even being boycotted because the 2 mil they donated was to non-profit charities focusing on emergency medical care and aid for children. Boycott Disney if you want, I don't give a shit, but focus on the companies that are donating to the Israeli government/IDF.
I don't wanna hear shit about Macdonalds or Starbucks if you can't mention these companies:
Domino's Pizza
Papa Johns Pizza
Pizza Hut
Burger King
AVA
Puma
Sodastream
Siemens
Sabra
AHAVA
Carrefour
HP (Hewlett-Packard)
And of course, any goods produced in Israel.
For the love of God, focus on the companies on the list and listen to BDS, the ones organising the boycott.
Newest TSAMS episode hurt me (I LOVED RUIN AND IM SO USPET 😭😭😭😭) so instead of finishing the EP I went and rewatched S4 of LMK and drew some Monkies :DD
What is he “really helping” this family with? Homelessness? An asylum/immigration claim? A benefit cock up?
It sounds like they were in deep poverty at the time, and may not have had a suitable place to stay. Many hostels/temp accommodation/hotels for asylum seekers have very limited cooking facilities and some kick you out during the day.
Where can families go and stay warm for low cost? Libraries and leisure centres are gone in many communities. Most cafes don’t stay open late enough. Often, MacDonalds is a good option PLUS they often (always?) have free wifi so you can do job applications or access benefit portals etc etc. There’s activities to do for your kids and it’s basically a safe environment. They’re also often easy to find, even if you’re in a hotel that’s slightly out of town etc.
Is it the most healthy food ever? No, but you can get a happy meal for <£3, which is warm and potentially affordable for a family which is struggling. Parents can buy a cheap coffee, and sometimes if there’s a wrongly made or uncollected order, staff will even let you have it for free (obviously not all MacDonalds but I know this happens since the electronic ordering system). Also, they tend not to kick you out unless they’re absolutely rammed.
If you want these kids to be in a more “wholesome” environment, maybe consider opening libraries until 7pm, or something like that?
