can i just say it's just so endearing to hear my mom (cn zodiac: rat) describing my dad's (cn zodiac: dragon) emotions metaphorically like he's an actual dragon (and vice versa)
my mom: *sends photo* i bought this dragon statue for your dad's birthday but i don't know what the cn letters means
me: *uses google lens to pick up the characters and throws it into deepl* it means "auspicious dragon"
my mom: your dad's happy and his tail's wagging now 😂
---
my dad: i bought three ice creams yesterday and there's only two today.
my dad: clearly, there's a rat in this house.
my mom: i see that you're complaining to our daughter again.

"Arya wouldn't have been able to survive in KL" is really one of the dumbest fanon takes where you can tell someone only believes it because they like the idea of Arya and Sansa being "exact opposites and perfect complements" (even though it goes against the books). Actual evidence from the books to back it up? Never anywhere to be found despite how confidently people make this claim.
And not only does it severely mischaracterize Arya and ignore what she's been through, it also ignores her importance as a political hostage. The Lannisters weren't searching for her, and lying about having her, for no reason. They needed her because having only one Stark after executing Ned put them in a poor position to negotiate. So Arya would have been more than capable of handling herself (thoroughly shown in her Harrenhal chapters) and the Lannisters would've done everything in their power to keep her alive but, somehow, she wouldn't have been able to survive? It's truly one of those takes that falls apart if you think about it for more than two seconds but apparently, that's too much effort for some people.

So my dad got me this coaster. It’s a fucking delight, and it has never once failed to get a laugh out of guests. Including a friends five year old who saw it and burst out laughing.
All the adults in the room laughed too. Nervously. She said, “What a funny cat face!” And we all sighed out. But her mom is an honest and straightforward lady. So when the girl asked, “What does it say?” She didn’t lie or prevaricate.
She read it aloud. The child digested the words and then started laughing uproariously. “Lesbians eat what?!” she crowed. We all looked at her mom who shrugged and we tried to move past the moment. But like many children she had her hooks in the joke and repeated it for several minutes. She was riding the endorphin high of our initial laugh and was determined to wring it for all it was worth.
Finally her mom said, “Okay. So this means something different than you think. I’m going to explain this joke to you so that you understand why we think it’s funny, but to you it can just be a funny cat.”
And then we all sat there through a moment of A+ deeply uncomfortable parenting as she started will adults having intimate relations, oral sex, euphemisms, and sexual orientation.

a little write-up about Hisami Yomotsu
Hisami's theme is so good and interesting it has me wanting to write something about her.
I am absolutely certain the broader fandom has already oversimplified her to hell and back — pun intended — as "the horny masochist". And to be clear, she absolutely is a horny masochist, but not just that. Do bear in mind I haven't actually researched the character in depth, I'm just organizing my thoughts.
For one, her theme. Go ahead, listen to it, the piano is beautiful. I think it is very elegant, emotional, and honestly? almost romantic. This clashes with what one may assume based the combination of her role and her looks.
Her role is to drag damned souls to Hell, and her ability is to not let anyone escape her grasp, so if you're her target you're kinda fucked. Additionally, she is said to lure people in using her beauty and sweet words. It's worth noting that the creature she is based on is, paradoxically, described as ugly and repulsive.
Fittingly, she is rather conventionally attractive, and I would personally say she is very pretty. The most interesting part of her design to me is her veil. It's very reminiscent of a widow's veil, but purple and made of flower petals, which is a lot more flamboyant. It immediately adds an aura of mystery for most of her face to be concealed in this way. It also ties in to the general floral theme of her design, which I really enjoy.
From this you would expect her to act like a femme fatale or a black widow (lines up with her black hand- and footwear), enticing people with charm and sweet talk, only to turn brutal and cold once their guard is down.
But she is said to be rather amicable (as long as Zanmu isn't in the picture), and actually keeps the promises she makes to those she drags to Hell (such as sharing her reward), and in any case, she isn't really two-faced. But she is kinda creepy and eerie nonetheless.
I think this is another instance of classic ZUN moe, which is being weird and creepy in a very heartfelt and almost innocent way (cf my popular post about Reisen).
This is of course complemented by her, uh, notorious relationship with Zanmu, literally panting when thinking about Zanmu getting mad at her. She is very clearly infatuated with her, to the point of stalkery obsessiveness.
With that in mind, the gracefulness, elegance and borderline romanticism of her theme paints a very interesting character, lending her eeriness an aura of tragic beauty, that perhaps interfaces with her obsessive love... Or maybe she is really just a horny masochist, teehee.
In any case, I was planning on just saying her theme was cool or whatever but I've grown really fond of her as I wrote this. Hopefully you appreciate her a bit more after reading this.

I wish there were more ganon fans that just didn't make him into a misunderstood little meow meow and made him into a complex leader who can be right about his reasons but still have red flags and be selfish
I'm glad people have fun with him, especially given the flurry of attention he received recently, and I'm glad there's a wide breadth of content to enjoy. I do prefer that version you're describing here as well though! I call this reading of the character "Morally Dark Gray Ganondorf"; the kind that definitively has a point, whose whole psyche makes a twisted kind of internal sense that one may absolutely find compelling, awe-inspiring and/or devastating, but who is also unforgivable the second you step outside of his own selfish "me against the world" conception of reality --while also understanding why he can't conceive of anyone as anything but pawns in a much larger game of chess played against gods who kind of demand to be opposed in absolutes. Still: all of this is cool and swell, but, also, do you know how many war crimes you're doubling down on just because you refuse to be owned??? Too many!! The answer is: too many!!

I love the fake "Jeyne Poole defense squad". They're so brave for fighting the mean, nasty Arya stans who call her "fake Arya" cause don't you know she has a name 😡. (So what if that's the only time they ever discuss Jeyne?)
I mean, nevermind that George refers to her as such:
I was trying to set up Jeyne for her future role as the false Arya. The real Arya has escaped and is presumed dead. But this girl has been in Littlefinger’s control for years, and he’s been training her. She knows Winterfell, has the proper northern accent, and can pose as Arya.
And that the only time she gets referred to as "Fake/False Arya" is when people are discussing the impact of Jeyne using Arya's name to marry Ramsey + help solidify the Bolton's claim. You know, the entire point of her being passed of as Arya Stark in the first place. It's not people making Jeyne's suffering about Arya or whatever nonsense people want to claim. The fake moral outrage from people who barely discuss Jeyne's character just to have an excuse to bash Arya stans is truly hilarious.
