12. Talk about a new friend you made this year: god its wild to think that this happened this year but this spring i became friends with a fellow student in my department who also turned out to be my neighbor! we worked on a department-led theatre project together and she helped me direct my first show 😊 and now we hang out sometimes because we live literally down the hall from each other lol

20. What’s something you learned this year? well i am still in school so hopefully a lot, but i'd say the two biggest things were directing (as mentioned above) and even though i didn't start learning it this year my catalan got way way better! i learned a lot of fun new words, my favorite of which is probably "nyanyo" (which is like a bump on the head)

19. Favorite inanimate objects to draw (food, nature, etc.)

Oooo, this is a good question... I think I like drawing trees best! And sushi, weirdly! It's fun to try and draw food when you are hungry. xD

27. Do you warm up before getting to the good stuff? If so, what is it you draw to warm up with

Sometimes?? When I remember or feel like I need to?? xD Sometimes I get nervous to warm up because I sometimes feel like it can make the next thing I draw not as good, but I am trying to get better at it. But I usually draw eyes or pretty barbie hair or swirly patterns! :) Sometimes outfits too!

binge-watching TV shows + ☕

This is interesting! I think it can be fun to sit down and watch a bunch of episodes all at once, but for newer shows, I actually do really enjoy weekly releases. Sarah Z has a great video on this topic, and what I took away from it is basically that weekly releases help foster fandoms because it gives time for fans to sit and think about the show, as well as take pressure off people to watch it all at once lest they be spoiled

Tl;dr: Love binging older shows, enjoy weekly releases of new ones

Abelia - I don’t really wear jewelry (let’s not talk about how many times I’ve let my earring holes in my ears close), but the one piece of jewelry I am currently wearing is the newer of my Dad’s two wedding rings - a gold band with five of the tinest inset diamonds you could mount in a ring.

Dad technically had two wedding rings (both Mom and Dad got new ones when they renewed their vows) and when Dad passed in 2020, my older sister was given the first one and I received the second, as that was the one he wore after I was born and my sister had already moved out. It’s kinda become a talisman in a way and helps me keep him in the forefront of my mind. ♥️

Mahonia - watching any cast that I work with connect deeply with the text they’re working with. I stage managed a production of Disney’s Hunchback of Notre Dame pre-Covid, and the way the cast worked together and took direction from our director was *chef’s kiss*. The show opened just after the Notre Dame fire, so we were in the thick of rehearsal as it was happening, which drew the cast even closer together.

How do I express myself? A major case of Getting Verklempt. I don’t cry at a lot of things, but I Feel a lot of Proud Mama Bear feels.

hmm it depends on the work! i inevitably will find typos and shit i missed after even three edits which is annoying. some of the fics embarrass me (esp some of the jokes i made when i was younger in my fics oh god) or im just like hnnn i would write that way better now, but others im still very fond of! ive had some really cool ideas in the past and its fun having a window to that! though often im like hnn i dont mind still keeping these but i wish others werent perceiving them

oikawa tooru (hq!!) i love him because i liked his journey from the beginning. he didn't give up and always pursued his dreams because he loved volleyball.

katsuki yuuri (yoi) i love him because i can relate to him, also he didn't give up and pursue his dreams because he loved skating—WAIT! i think i see a pattern here, they're fairly different characters, though.

Art trademark meme: you often give the characters a particular expression that's a bit of a smirk, a bit smug, very charming altogether, and I love it. I also think you do a fantastic job at retaining a character's features when you translate them into your visual style; I can always recognize them at a glance. 🤩

Aaaa, thank you so much!! I love that you noticed that expression because I really like drawing it and that’s because (if it’s the one I’m thinking of) it’s one I can’t do in real life funny enough (but my husband can hahahaha! xD) But that’s my favorite kind of fictional character xD and the likeness makes me really happy—I worked as a caricature artist for a few years and they drilled that into us and I’m pretty proud of how much better I have gotten at likeness over the years! :D

-- I gotta go with hushed, gentle conversation while tending to injuries. Sprinkle in some lingering touches and I'm done for.

-- I was really into a super super rarepair from a video game I played like 6 years ago? I think there may have been like 1 or 2 fics for the pairing and I decided 'fuck it!' and actually shared things I'd written for the first time ever!

🦅 Do you outline fics or fly by the seat of your pants?

-- it honestly depends. I mean I guess it's safe to say some level of planning goes into even my shorter fics and 5+1's cause I do jot things down in notebooks or in my phone but real, true like thought-out planning and outlining etc I really only do for longer, chaptered fics. (except this WIP I've had forever let's not talk about him pls and how much planning and plotting and outlining I've done for a 5+1 hahaHAHAHA I'm gonna finish this one day if it kills me)

🥺 : Oh, there's a few!! Softness, just being able to spend time together without needing to do anything, that moment in sweet sex where obikin's signatures tangle together and they can feel each other's pleasure, being able to trust someone so completely... all of that! There's more, but I think that's the main stuff

🌞 : Right before I go to sleep. It may not be the best time for say, coherency, but it's the time where I can just let words flow onto the page without worrying about if they make sense. It just means I have to proofread more than I usually do (never, if I can help it)!
