That one gifset got me thinking, so what's your opinion on Buck wearing pink? I've noticed he's worn it most around the Diaz boys, but never around a canon love interest 👀

Honestly, pink seems to be about conflict and family? Obviously, the first example anyone will think of Buck in pink is the tsunami. Which is a major family moment since it's canonically the moment Buck realizes exactly how much and in which way he loves Chris but it does ultimately lead to a near-death experience.

But other moments he's wearing pink are: May's graduation party and the moments we see him talking there, he's with Chris and apologizing to Bobby about the train, so he's with his kid and clearing the air with his father figure (wonder if the pink and yellow combo for Buck and Chris means something tho).

Also, Buck talking Eddie down after the skateboard thing and Chris calling him a liar, so parenting issue.

When he's talking to Albert about Veronica and accepting there's nothing he can do about it. Considering Jee, Albert is family in a more traditional way, they are bound by a blood relative, so family.

When Chim comes to tell him about the accident with Jee and why Maddie ran and finds out Buck knew and Chim is for all intents and purposes is his brother-in-law.

So, from the knowledge I gathered by putting the whole show in 12x speed to find every instance he's wearing green, I would reasonably say pink is his conflict in the family color.

ok v late but i have watched and finished the episode! some baby thoughts; loved the nanny subplot, it was funny. i feel like the noah storyline must be unfinished. apart from it just feeling that way story-wise, maddie can't live the rest of her life 'unwilling to bond with new people'. + i like the noah character, it's fun to have some youthful energy in the call center. eddie i think, might have seen adrianna a/o sofia in the marisol situation, interested in where that goes. i would like to see some of may's college life and also when do we get ravi back? i think i've said this before, but i find it very interesting the buddie interactions that we don't see. why is the diaz -> buckley hand-off the only one that we don't see? something happened 🧍‍♀️. and also 6x04 is officially a hot eddie episode imo. but the Big One ; i have a feeling that next ep is going to make me cry. regardless of the situation, tracy and aisha are so good together lol they make me feel henren through the screen so i will cry. :*) but i'm also seeing a happy/cathartic ending to the ep and! i love the 118's appreciation of Hen, she's definitely the holder of their singular braincell

okay but no one has talked about how this is obviously buck and eddie practicing their slow dancing for the madney wedding. and they’re bickering about who leads and who follows. and it’s because they both want to follow, obviously. like i can’t believe that there even is a debate about what the scene could be about. it’s clear as day.

It's still Sunday somewhere, right?? Okay so I lied when I said I was only going to post one snippet of the Why Are Buck and Eddie So Dirty at Madney's Wedding Fic (this is not the title), but then I didn't get it completed on time so have another! Ngl not writing Buddie has been odd but I am absolutely loving writing Happy Buck and him being soft and squishy. So please enjoy a little bit of Bucktommy/Tuck/Tevan/Kinkley/whatever their name is rn on the way to Madney's wedding

“You - uh - you know my parents are going to be there, right?” Buck says, his voice slicing through the silence in the jeep.  Tommy chuckles, taking his eyes off the road for just a moment as he looks at Buck with a twinkle in his eye.  “Yes, Evan, I figured your parents were going to be at your sister's wedding.” “A-and you're okay with that? Meeting my parents, that is.” Buck twists his fingers together, something he does when he's nervous.  “Of course I am, I wouldn't have agreed to come otherwise.” Tommy glances over at Buck again, and his easy grin disappears as he takes in Buck's tight expression. He reaches over and takes Buck's hand, lacing their fingers together as he rubs his thumb over Buck's knuckles.  “Hey, you okay? What's going on?” Buck sighs and shifts in his seat as he brings his and Tommy's hands up to his mouth, brushing the gentlest of kisses against the back of Tommy's knuckles. Tommy's hand is warm against his lips, and he can very faintly smell the hand soap in his apartment, along with some of Tommy's cologne. It calms him, just the smallest amount.  “Yeah it's just -” Buck huffs, not sure where to even begin on the subject of his parents. Sure, they may have made nice after Buck's brush with death, but there is a big difference, in Buck's mind, between forgiving, and forgetting.  “My parents can be kind of… mean.” “Mean?” Tommy echoes, raising an eyebrow “Yeah, we have a sort of complicated relationship, a-and you know I haven’t told them about, you know, us yet. I’m a little nervous about how they’re going to react. My mother especially can say some pretty unkind things.”

They’re at a red light, so Tommy takes the opportunity to reach out and tap Buck’s chin, gently guiding Buck’s head in his direction. “Hey, look at me, baby. We’ve got this. It’s a wedding, not a war.” Buck laughs derisively, but allows Tommy to press a soft kiss to his cheek nonetheless.  “You have no idea.”

Buck x Tommy Drabble 7x06 spec T (sorta)

A little tease! I've been reading the interviews, especially Lou's where he says he makes a "dramatic entrance" at Madney's wedding, and this is what I had in mind!! Rest of drabble under cut. Enjoy ! Tags ✨ @tizniz LMK if you'd like to be added/removed

"Who's that? Bringing in the groom?"

Somewhere off to Buck's side, some lady is pointing up at the sky. As the whipping sound of blades gets increasingly louder, Buck turns just in time to see the bird closing in, a worse-for-wear but alive Chim on it's passenger side waving at the wedding guests below.

Buck smiles.

"That would be my boyfriend."

The helicopter touches down on the patch of grass they had just cleared. The blades start winding down and Hen, ever the Best Woman, runs up to Chim who looks like he's just about to keel over. It doesn't take too long for Tommy to make his way out and around the chopper to join the other guests, but just as he emerges, Buck sees him, and he is not looking respectfully.

The suit Tommy's wearing is fitted. The first few buttons on his dress shirt are undone and his hair doesn't seem to have product, which means it's curly and moving with the wind. He's wearing his pilot sunglasses like he's out of fucking Top Gun.

Buck goes weak in the knees a little. Tommy is so cool.

What's more, when Tommy clocks him, he cracks the widest smile at Buck, all sunshine and puppy dogs. His nose scrunches up.

Buck practically runs to meet him halfway, and Tommy only has time to remove his sunglasses before Buck takes a hold of Tommy's face with both hands and crashes his whole mouth against his, full tongue. It is not a gentle kiss.

Never mind that Buck was supposed to soft launch his boyfriend.

Never mind that he'd only told a select few that he was out.

Never mind that they were currently very surrounded, by many people who knew them both yet were unaware of the new developpments.

Tommy goes with it, not necessarily one for extreme PDA, but his hands - huge, huge hands - wrap around Buck's sides to his lower back, gently stabilizing them both.

When they break apart for air after what could be qualified as a long time for a kiss, Tommy has this bewildered look on his face, like he'd just been hit in the face with something. In a sense, he had.

"You are... happy to see me?" Tommy's not really asking, more like he's trying to unscramble his brain after all of his braincells tragically died with the force impact of Buck's mind-numbing kiss.

"That was so, so hot." Buck grits through his teeth, cute aggression on full as his fingers twist in the short hair at the back of Tommy's head. "I'm not well."

"Down, boy." Tommy chuckles nervously, soothing Buck with a hand on his chest. He smiles coyly. "If you're good during the ceremony, maybe we can uh, find a less public place later to say hello."

If this was a cartoon, steam would come out of Buck's ears and nostrils, his heart would beat out of his chest, or he'd just explode. Real life comes close though, because Buck can feel himself flush all the way down to his toes. If his knees were a lil weak before, well, they're giving out now.

"Woah there!" Tommy catches him and keeps him upright as Buck finds his footing.

"This is what you do to me, Tommy." Buck says back in a somewhat strangled, accusatory tone.

Tommy only chortles, as he guides them towards the alley where, hopefully, there was gonna be a wedding soon.

I’m firmly in the “Buck should have a love interest that feels like a person” and “If Buck’s happy, I’m happy” camps

But don’t forget this all too important fact: it’s still too easy

Of course that’s apart from the whole identity-shifting-in-your-30s part. But the people that matter to Buck won’t give a damn that about his sexuality (we sadly can’t say the same for Eddie which is a whole other thing I could scream about for days)

But back to Buck’s latest match: it’s THE SAME PATTERN

Unless they come in with a twist of some sort, BuckTommy is following the same structure:

Someone flirts

Someone makes a move

They go on a date and it goes bad (4 out of 5 times to my memory)

They reconcile and keep up the relationship until ReasonsTM break them up

Now I would love to see Buck explore his first queer relationship and be happy (for once). I want that man to have the chance to shove his tongue down Tommy’s throat in peace. I would even love to see this explored well into Season 8 like Buck in a healthy relationship would be revolutionary

But don’t get it twisted. 911 has defined its view of love explicitly and continues to elaborate on those themes through its main couples.

For reference:

“When you’re at your worst and they’re at their worst and you have every reason to give up but you keep trying.” “Isn’t that what we all want in a partner? Someone who has your back?”

Love is HARD in the world of 911 - for everyone.

I’m not saying they couldn’t explore this and build up Buck and Tommy or any other love interest to the required level of soulmateism. But only one Buck pairing currently fits the bill.

Also look at all the other main couples on the show and then look at 911’s criminal record. They would NEVER pass up on the chance to create the most traumatizing scenarios to put their lovers in so they “come out in the other side stronger.”

First date Madney ends with one stabbed and one kidnapped. Let’s not even TALK about what they put Henren through. You don’t even have to look too far - the TSUNAMI EPISODES??? Bathena went through SO much if you really unpack it???

These guys eat angsty couple moments for breakfast - especially early days couples (the serious ones anyway)

Anyway the point of this post is: Buddie endgame

But they’ll have to suffer (a lot) to get there.

Okay this might be kinda a long ask but BEAR WITH ME!!!

Okay so 7x07 is titled “Ghost of a Second Chance”

Buck’s big gesture at the end of 7x05 was asking Tommy for a second chance.

I have seen some speculation that we are going to have some sort of major vehicle accident at some point this season based on bts photos and makeup trailer photos— so i have a working theory starting from the Madney wedding onto the end of the season.

Okay so 7x06: We will see Chimney’s bachelor party- personally im a big fan of the accidental marriage trope in fanfiction, but im trying to be realistic here. My theory is that when Buck and Eddie get plastered, Eddie starts to look at him weird, but is like “nahh no, that’s my best friend. he’s with tommy. he’s a guy. but im looking respectfully 👀👀.” They wake up the next day, and Chim is gone. They all immediately launch into “we gotta find him mode” and eddie stick with buck for most of the episode. As it goes on, Eddie starts thinking about all of his little thoughts about Buck from the night before and he keeps trying to explain them away in his mind- but his brain keeps popping back to the marisol of it all and he’s like “but what does it all mean??” anyway, they get chimney back, and things go well, but then the Buckley’s find out that evan is dating a man. They say some not-nice things (as they do everytime they’re around their son) and it’s not maddie who sticks up for buck, it’s not tommy, it’s not bobby or athena or hen or anyone because they’re all off having a grand old time— no, it’s Eddie. Eddie who will not even think about hearing anyone speak ill of Buck. He tells them about how wonderful snd deserving of love their son is and that if that’s from a man so be it as long as he’s happy— cue eddie’s epiphany as he mulls over his own words, glances up to the dance floor, and he sees buck dancing with tommy. But in that moment he sees buck. It suddenly clicks, and he realizes that he is screwed.

Now we have 7x07: Eddie is struggling to come to terms with what he has realized at the wedding. He’s shooketh ™️ and scared out of his mind over the fact that his best friend- who literally just came out to him- may be the person he’s been waiting for to settle down with. the other parentsl figure for Chris. someone Chris would want around. someone Eddie would want around. He spirals as he and Marisol begin to completely fall apart. At some point, they get a call- a helicopter crash. There is an immediate sinking feeling from everyone. They get to the scene and Bobby gives out instructions- Eddie and Buck make their way to the crash site, Buck terrified of what might be waiting for them. Eddie sees Tommy first- still alive but hanging on by a thread. This is where we get a delicious parallel to Shannon’s death. Eddie immediately is on the defensive, trying to keep Buck from seeing, but Buck is distraught. They get Tommy out and into an ambulance, but he’s been watching this whole time- he sees how Eddie so ferociously tried to protect Buck, and he realizes. As Tommy and Buck are in the back of the ambulance. Tommy tells Buck that he will move on, and maybe say something along the lines of “you don’t find it, you make it” (👀👀👀) and that Buck has Eddie. And THAT is when it clicks for Buck. Buck realizes as the first man he ever consciously considered in a romantic light dies in front of him, that what he has been looking for, he already has because he’s built it with Eddie (“you never know what you need until a light is shined on it” - oliver stark). But it can’t be because eddie is straight right? right??

Then from 7x08-7x10: we get the two of them dancing around each other. we get avoidance, we get longing glances missed by both of them. we see eddie have a multi-episode arc where he fully comes to terms with what he’s feeling, and he gets an emotional scene with Chris about Chris loving his Buck, and how Buck is kind of like his second dad since he doesn’t have Shannon as his mom anymore. On Buck’s end, we get a Buckley sibling moment where Maddie tells Buck that she’s always thought he had a thing for Eddie, but that she thought he needed to discover that himself. Buck is conflicted over telling Eddie because he just got what he wanted, even if it’s just in his head, he doesn’t want to lose it, especially not after just losing tommy. He is going to ignore it, but then we get another Loft Scene ™️. Eddie tells Buck that he is tired if avoiding Buck, and that he can’t lose someone else. He tells Buck that he knows Buck doesn’t feel the same, but that he would much rather be Buck’s best friend and have that be all he can be, than to not have him because he was too scared and pushed Buck away. He tells Buck that he’s Chris’s second dad, and that neither he or Chris can lose him, and Buck finally feels so wanted by his family- the family he made with Eddie. And he tells Eddie he loves him too. Then we get Eddie stepping in close, asking if Buck is okay with him kissing him before (something that has never happened for Buck, even with Tommy) and Buck tells him yes, and season 7 closes with them kissing in the same spot in Buck’s kitchen where all those years ago, Eddie told him there was no one her trusted his son with more than Buck.

Cue Season 8 finally bringing us the domestic fluff and tooth-rotting romance that we desperately need from the two of them and have been waiting for for SO long. Plus a few stumbles, maybe some doubts along the way, but nothing that can’t be fixed without some good ol’ “i love you to the core”

and you know what, because im feeling nice after my little spec sesh, when they go visit shannon’s grave to place flowers, they visit tommy’s too because he is who brought them together in the end.

I fully recognize how delulu i probably sound, but at the same time @ Tim Minear and ABC, i will be awaiting my writer’s credit on IMDb, and my check in the mail, thanks. 🙏

Out of all Buck's love interests, Tim Minear hit the jackpot with Lou's character, Tommy!

Tommy is unlike any other Buck's LI. Apart from Tommy is a HE, he's within the circle of first responders - which is a mega click for someone as huge as Buck - whom all of his LI were given huge screentime (except for Ali) for a non main cast. Tommy has worked with Chimney, Hen, and Bobby before, so there's familiarity. Tommy made a good impression with Eddie and Christopher, which is important for Buck. The only person Tommy has yet to meet is his sister Maddie.

So whatever screentime the show will give for Tommy now is valid! It's like he's part of the circle - of the family!

I'm saying this because they finally found the perfect LI for Buck. For Bi Buck! Not some random chick he met, and I couldn't care less of them. Also, Lou's acting complements Oliver's. The guy obviously did study how Oliver plays Buck and how Lou thought Tommy would react to whatever Buck's vomits. It's so good to see them in one frame. So cute.

So my theory, since Buck and Eddie are gonna sing the next episode, Buck and Tommy will surely dance on Madney's wedding - if the wedding will happen - which I think will happen on season finale.

What if those devious devious fuckers kiss in the last scene and we’re just here looking like 👁️👄👁️ until the show comes back! Like what if the Madney wedding is a SHOW and the crew spends the day just counteracting disaster after disaster. Eddie rips his shirt doing something like setting a vase down, Buck spills wine on himself, the cake almost falls, there’s a power outage, the kids knock something over into a candle and Buck’s pants catch fire but they manage to fix everything and the photographer promises to edit Buck’s pants in photoshop later!

And as the night winds down, everyone’s off on the dance floor and the kids are pigging out on cake. Buck slinks over the Eddie, hands him a beer and settles down next to him and they just watch Madney and Jee dance together, maybe the camera pans over the Chirs and he’s laughing with Bathena or Henren+kids and Eddie suddenly grabs Buck’s hand. He moves them away from the party, to a quiet corner.

Buck’s a little confused but he smiles and goes with it. It’s Eddie after all. So he goes, all loose and happy with his beer in one hand and Eddie in the other. They find themselves away from everyone, maybe in a place where the lighting is low and Eddie turns to Buck.

“What’s up Eds?”

And Eddie just kind of stares at him before he sets his beer down and touches Buck’s neck gently.

“Eddie? What,”

But Eddie’s kissing him, one hand’s come to rest on Buck’s face and the other on his neck and Buck responds by wrapping an arms around Eddie’s neck and pulling him closer with his other hand on his shoulder. They’re kissing like they’re starving and just as they’re about to pull apart…

9-1-1 Spoilers:Bi Buck,Bi Buck,Bi Buck!!!!!!!!!Im so happy for my baby boy🥹!Tommy is a dream!But there is the Eddie of all this(Eddie by the way is a blatant sugar baby I love him❤️)So looking for forward to how the 118 react to Tommy and Bucks relationship!I was worried about Eddie and Bucks relationship after all the basketball drama but Tommy assuring Buck it was all good(apart from Eddie’s ankle)and was sorry they were leaving Buck out,though Buck deserved that backlash from Maddie and Chimney,though this episode showed how funny Maddie and Chimney are and are perfect together my Madney❤️Loved seeing Ravi back and really hope he gets a storyline of his own,The Bachelor and sewer rescues were fun but the one with the woman shooting her own son broke my damn heart.Athena was the absolute amazing as usual in this episode and I’m glad she and Harry(now recast and tall!) were able to patch things up and it really highlighted as upsetting as it is a different reality exists for Black Americans and Justice isn’t always in favour but so thankful it was for Harry and he can stay with Athena and Bobby at least.A really great episode and so looking forward to the next one!
