I tried to make "proper" references for the main characters first. I tried.

Evidently, I didn't succeed.

Meet Betel and Rigel (who's already appeared on this blog awhile back), two out of the five leaders of an entire civilization of winged magic avian people. Specifically, their leadership system runs on a democracy-ish sort of, well, system- the civilians are all split up among five sections, and one leader controls each section, all of them answering to Rigel (who runs his own and helps with the others from time to time). Betel is one of these leaders, and arguably the closest one to Rigel. I don't know exactly how QPR stuff works, but... I suppose they can be considered one? Considered in one? However you say it.

They're ride-or-die for eachother. Known eachother for centuries. Ruled for who-knows-how-many eons and eons.

They're also huge dorks who mostly just take turns chugging saltwater until one of them passes out, which they never do, because they're magic avian people and it just works like that.
