since these are similar to torian, trixian, torion, trixion, torien, and trixien, the flags and terms are based on those. the flags combine the adonic and maedic flags' colors with the gai, strayt, and diamoric flags' colors, and the terms are 'adon' and 'maed' suffixed with 'ian', 'ion', and 'ien'!

It’s weird being an enby in a relationship. Like. Yes this is my girlfriend. No we’re not lesbian. No we’re not straight. No I can’t be either of those things because that implies my gender is binary to some degree and I’m uncomfortable with that. Yes I know some enbies use the terms lesbian but I feel comfortable doing that because of my dysphoria. I’m nonbinary and she’s a girl and there’s no way to describe that to the general public in the same way you would gay or straight because the only terms that exist to describe us are only known by other queer people.

so, what is mestric?
the term mestric was coined here and in short, it describes any attraction or partnership involving at least one nonbinary person.
in other words, mestric is anything that isn't binary-loving binary.
in other other words, mestric describes attraction, partnerships and more that don't fit the binary view of either gay or straight, due to the involvement of one or more nonbinary people.
in other other other words, mestric unites people whose orientation, attraction, partnerships etc. are erased due to the erasure of nonbinary people. mestricism opposes the idea that all attraction, partnerships etc. involving nonbinary people can be easily put into a gay or straight box, as specific mestric labels and identities are often erased or rebinarised, although gay and straight mestric of course exist.
mestric can be a specific identity, a descriptor for attraction, partnership and action and an umbrella term for an entire community and set of experiences.
the term mestric functions similarly to the word gay in that it can describe all of these things.
mestric as an identity/orientation label: nonbinary people attracted to nonbinary people, nonbinary people attracted to binary people and binary people attracted to nonbinary people can all claim a mestric identity. the label mestric may be used alongside other orientation labels. examples: a binary woman attracted to nonbinary people may identify as mestric. a nonbinary achillean might also identify as mestric. an enby who is attracted to other enbies might identify as both mestric and enbian.
mestric as a descriptor for attraction: attraction can be considered mestric regardless of whether someone actively identifies as mestric or not. examples: a panromantic nonbinary person may not claim a mestric identity, but their attraction to binary people is mestric. any attraction to nonbinary people is mestric, regardless of what orientation label someone uses.
mestric as a descriptor for action: mestric can describe actions, regardless of orientational label used. examples: two nonbinary men having sex with each other is mestric sex. a woman kissing a nonbinary person is a mestric kiss.
mestric as a descriptor for partnerships: mestric can describe partnerships, even if none of the partners identify as mestric. examples: a woman married to an agender person is in a mestric marriage. a maverique, a bigender person and a man dating are in a mestric polycule.
here are some of the most common mestric orientations:
enbian: nonbinary people attracted to nonbinary people
toric: nonbinary people attracted to men
trixic: nonbinary people attracted to women
astroidian: men attracted to nonbinary people
maedic: women attracted to nonbinary people
now you might be asking: "isn't that the same as diamoric?" well spotted, it is quite similar, however with an important distinction: the coiner of diamoric said that while binary people can participate in diamoric activities, they cannot identify as diamoric. with mestric, binary people are free to call their orientation mestric. the person who coined diamoric also said that diamoric specifically centres nonbinary people attracted to nonbinary people as the only group who should use diamoric as an orientation label. mestric does not specifically centre enbians, it doesn't centre any specific mestric experience but rather unites all experiences of alienation from the binary view of gayness vs. straightness. nonbinary people attracted to binary people and binary people attracted to nonbinary people are just as welcome to call their orientation mestric as enbians. this means that, in some ways, diamoric is similar to mestric, but overall it's more specific than mestric and more similar to enbian.

Mestric Lesbian Pride Flag
Tumblr media
Mestric: a catch-all term for all orientations, attractions, partnerships or similar involving non-binarity (e.g. nblnb, nblw, wlnb, mlnb, nblm, wla).
Lesbian: queer attraction to women (QLW/WLQ); a label for being gay for women; umbrella term for nonmen loving non-men (NMLNM/faunic/daunic); or homo sapphic/WLW (women who like women).
I used to use "diamoric lesbian" (x; x; x; x) to mean this. However, diamoric is mostly used to mean attractions experienced by non-binary people and descriptor of relationships involving at least one nonbinary folk. "Mestric lesbian" would include lesbienboric aptobinary primlunic women (binary maedix/wln), for example, along with non-binary lesbians (i.e. gaibians, trixians, lesbienbies) as well as some cenelians, iridians, and enbians

I don’t like making posts like this because I like to keep it a surprise but I think I should draw Falcon and Robert with a Bisexual flag and an Omnisexual flag and Char and Knight with a Meedic flag and a Trixic flag and just have that as my pinned post now that F-Zero’s back and I love what I already have as my pinned post

so after only reading up about diamoric in a wiki article the other day and being confused, i went to the sources and found multiple coining posts, which showed that the wiki boiled it down a bit by saying wlnb and mlnb attraction isn't diamoric.
but i'm still confused.
here it says:
A diamoric person is a person who centers NB people and NB partnerships in their life.
Only non-binary people may use diamoric as an identity. Only NB people can call themselves diamoric. Technically, any NB person who seeks partnerships of any kind with any gender could call themselves diamoric, but it’s most useful and meaningful for NBs who wish to proclaim their prioritization of other NBs.
An NB person who is most interested in, happiest, and most comfortable with other NB people may find it a useful self-identifier; they are diamoric. Even if they would be content dating men or women, but they don’t want to define themselves by that, and would rather define themselves by their love for NB people and for being NB - they are diamoric.
ok cool. that sounds like it would be an equivalent to sapphic and achillean, and thus not to be used by binary men and women. makes sense.
but literally above that part, says:
A diamoric relationship or attraction is one that involves at least one non-binary person.
A genderfluid person’s attraction to a woman is diamoric.
now here i thought diamoric was just defined as nblnb. if that were the case, that would be like calling a woman's attraction to a binary man sapphic?
An enby’s hook-up with an androgyne is diamoric.
A man’s queerplatonic partnership with a demiboy is diamoric (and could also be achillean if they chose to use both).
A genderfluid woman’s romance with a genderfluid man is diamoric (and could also be gay, sapphic, or achillean depending on how their genders line up in time.)
A bigender person’s marriage to an agender person is diamoric.
A triad between a woman, a demigirl, and an agender person is diamoric.
A man’s attraction to an enby is diamoric.
this goes against what wikis say (that diamoric is only for attraction experienced by non-binary people and not for attraction from binary people towards non-binary people), but it also literally goes against the other part i quoted, saying that only non-binary people can use the term diamoric and how it's meant for nblnb, not mlnb (or wlnb). this does sound like astroidian (mlnb) and maedic (wlnb) would absolutely count as diamoric orientations.
A lesbian dating an agender person is a lesbian in a diamoric relationship.
but in a previous post, it was defined like this:
Love or attraction of any kind for, of, shared between or involving non binary people.
here it is again, explicitly stating that it's not just attraction from non-binary people, but also for non-binary people. with this definition, wlnb and mlnb count as diamoric.
This includes platonic, romantic, and/or sexual love and attraction.
It includes any platonic, romantic or sexual feelings or relationships an NB person has, whether with other NB people or with binary people.
This word is an equivalent to sapphic and achillean but further expanded to encompass any relationship or attraction which is neither same-gender nor “opposite-gender” due to an NB person’s involvement.
and this again sounds like mlnb and wlnb are diamoric in their attraction to non-binary people. that attraction doesn't easily fit in same vs. opposite gender attraction, and non-binary people would be involved as the recipients of that attraction.
so i'm confused. these posts seem to kind of contradict each other. one of the posts even contradicts itself by listing mlnb as diamoric but then saying that mlnb can't call themselves diamoric.
it seems like the person who coined diamoric wanted it to be two things at once, an umbrella term for every attraction and relationship that doesn't fit the same vs opposite gender dichotomy as well as a specific nblnb term equivalent to sapphic and achillean.
and with that it's even weirder that on wiki articles trixic and toric are listed as diamoric orientations when diamoric is either defined as nblnb specifically or as any attraction/relationship not within the same vs opposite gender dichotomy (meaning the article should also include maedic and astroidian along with trixic and toric as examples for diamoric orientations).
whichever way you see it, the wiki definitely got it wrong one way or another, but the coining post(s) themselves are also not really helping my confusion.
in my book, diamoric does describe any attraction/relationship outside the same vs opposite gender dichotomy, in my book maedic and astroidian are diamoric orientations, in my book, wlnb and mlnb are diamoric. in my book, my partner (binary guy) is diamoric for being attracted to me as it's not same or opposite gender attraction. in my book, diamoric isn't limited to nblnb, especially because there are actually now other terms that are way more commonly used for nblnb specifically, like enbian, which was coined two months after diamoric. it makes exactly zero sense to me to say that diamoric includes every situation where a same vs opposite gender dichotomy doesn't apply but then say that...certain people where a same vs opposite gender dichotomy doesn't apply can't use it. thankfully there's enbian as a term so the half-arsed nonsensical gatekeeping of people who fit the definition of diamoric and are literally in the example list becomes kinda useless.

diamoric/mestric mln/wln anon here. does your maedien/adonien flags include binary adonics/maedics? because I meant a term for being neither gay or straight towards nonbinary people. I feel diamoric includes binitians (blnb), but there's some discussion and discussions brought recently that diamoric dubiously doesn't include binary people when referring to attraction. but I know that in the time when it was coined, there was discourse about fetishization and labels such as mlnb and wlnb were problematized.
they include binary folks! i’m using diamoric in the sense of any relationship/attraction/etc involving a nonbinary person, regardless of what gender the other party/parties are.

Lesbienboric Pride Flag
Tumblr media
Lesbienboric or lesbien- (lesbiensexual, lesbienromantic, lesbienplatonic, lesbiensensual, lesbienalterous, etc.): an enboric lesbian; a lesbian who is attracted to non-binary individuals; someone who includes non-binary people in one's lesbianism. A form of homen-/homenboric (or simulenboric/similenboric).
This may overlap with "diamoric lesbian". Not to be confused with enbian lesbian (lesbienbian). This flag includes binary WLNB/WLN (women who love non-binary folks), for example.

Hi. For your picrew could you add the citrinian and maedic flags? Also I see that you have done bi lesbian/gay, pan lesbian/gay, ply lesbian/gay, etc, but could you do the same for straight (bi/pan/ply/omni straight)? I see you've done mspec straight but it would be cool if you could include the more specific ones like you did with lesbian/gay (if you have room).
Yep, I've added both of those flags, along with other specific gender-loving-gender terms. Those are all under the 3-5 rainbow parts.
I've added specific flags for m-spec straight too. I actually didn't know those flags existed before, but I was able to find them :). I also added some other m-spec terms,
Tumblr media
(There's more than just 10 flags, the specific terms just in the groups. I didn't want to send one really long screenshot haha).
