Little Did You Know: Part 1

Summary: You thought your upbringing in a mafia home was a difficult time in your life, fighting for the love of Bucky Barnes who didn’t meet your father’s standards. But even when you’ve both stayed away from that chaotic life, the past returns and things get out of hand. The home you both built tumbled harsher as your reality flew out the window and so did your heart. “We’re gonna go see Papa. You excited?” You cooed at your 4-month-old child, the first of many you hoped to have.

He wiggled his chunky arms, chewing on his fingers as you giggled at his actions before slipping on his little booties with a “B” embroidered on the sides. He laid in his wide crib, elegant pillows and adorable stuffed animals boarded around. His deep ocean blue eyes stared at his safari mobile that rang a melodious tone. Spoiling your first born isn’t what you saw to do, but your husband only wanted the best for his family.

Excitement roared within you as you readied your baby to see his father after a month away due to work. You got ready beforehand, getting your hair, makeup and nails done- knowing your husband loves to see you dolled up. Still a little swollen from your delivery, you wore a fitted peach colored bodycon dress, making sure it was loose around your waist with beige pumps and a white fur shawl around your shoulders. You looked like the typical Italian-American wife, but with a sense of fashion.

You were a reminder of what Bucky accomplished in his life so far, more valuable than money or any rare diamond. You shined brighter than the stars in the night sky. He couldn’t have been happier to be with you. To be your husband till he couldn’t no more.

You met him at one of your fathers’ dinner parties that he held every Sunday evening. The whole street you grew up in would bring dishes of all sorts. They were like family, coming in and out of your grandeur home that your father worked hard to get. Love was shown all around. Hugs, kisses on the cheeks and laughter brought joy to the atmosphere. Bucky happened to be one of the young cheeky boys who had his heart eyes set on you. You’d be lying to yourself if you said he didn’t stand out from all the rest.

Because he did.

It was like the moment you two locked eyes with each other, time itself stopped. Allowing you to bask in that period only to sink deep into each other’s soul. And boy, did you never want to swim back out. He remembers how his breath was instantly taken away, replaced with the sweet fluttering of his heart and the warmness in his stomach that never left. Even till this day. You were one of a kind. A beauty that hypnotized him in the best way and maybe the worst. But he’d never admit that. He was the one.

As you were his.

However, your lives were much different than the white picket fences. When you were 10 years old, your father explained that your great-grandfather made an agreement with other families, a secret group in Italy, before they migrated to the States. They swore to have each other’s back no matter what, earning respect, dignity, a higher status, and most importantly, protection. You were taught to value that treaty and much more.

As you grew older, your father’s business in repairing and selling cars turned out to be something else. He was a gangster; the boss of the mafia. Selling weapons to other mafia groups and wiring illegal money into Brooklyn. It wasn’t like he was the one getting his hand dirty. He had men for that. And Bucky happened to be one of them since his family dealt with that side of the business while your dad stood on top of everyone like a god of some sort. After you found out, you two tried running away only to be brought back. You disliked them with a fury, living a lie or at least being the cloak to what was happening behind closed doors. You and Bucky wanted out, but this was your family.

You’ve grown to love them.

And your life.

That’s where your forbidden love story had begun. Just like any concerned father for their sixteen-year-old daughter, your dad prevented any relationship between you and Bucky. He lived the same life as your fathers, being one of his right-hand men and all. Escaping would seem like the ultimate solution but Bucky stayed, for the sake of you. Anything Bucky did to show your father how serious he was about you didn’t meet your father’s standards; he wanted someone more successful and endearing than Bucky- the complete opposite. And your dad only saw the worst in Bucky but then again, Bucky loved you.

Not the money. Not the success. Not his label. Just you.

And life wasn’t easy for James Buchanan Barnes. Both his parents were taken away from him at the young age of twelve by Howard Stark who was scorned with immense hatred for your and Bucky’s family. He was another mafia group but on the bad side of the city where most of the scumbags in Brooklyn lived. Blinded by greed, Howard sought to take everything, even if that meant killing anyone who came in his way. He saw the Barnes family a weak branch, making it easier to take down. Howard took most of the car repair shops that were owned by Bucky’s father and left Bucky in the hands of his grandfather who wanted nothing to do with him. Yet, Bucky promised himself he will avenge his parents no matter what and get back what was rightfully his. He knew the right time will come to him so he waited.

In the meantime, Bucky’s grandfather ended up raising him until death stepped on their doorstep and welcomed him with open arms. After the funeral, your father took Bucky in, still being a young teen and sticking to the oath their families made. He decided to work for your father even if he disliked Bucky and working for him would only ensure that his future would go downhill. But Bucky craved you more than the will to stay alive once realizing you were his boss’s daughter. Bucky yearned to be better than anyone who he encountered, to be better than the image he has in his mind. And that meant he had to do things he wasn’t proud of.

He promised you he’d be better, only for you.

When the opportunity arrived to show your father how serious Bucky was about you, he made Bucky in charge, being an adult now, of a large weaponry shipment that was supposed to be guarded until the exchange took place up North. Word got out to Howard and his men as they rushed to the location before deciding to shoot up the place. They loved interfering in affairs that didn’t involve them for personal gain and it fueled the same fire in Bucky had years ago. Howard hoped he killed Bucky to send a message to your father but Stark didn’t know Buck had gone back in town to bring more men to secure the joint, but as time would have it, a war sprung out between the two. Your father was notified of the incident and was on his way. After hours of shooting and fist-fighting, Bucky came out of the mess with triumph oozing off him. Howard’s body laid dead on the cold black ground when your father arrived at the scene.

That day, Bucky gained your father’s approval and more importantly, you.

Presenting your grandmother’s engagement ring that your father gave him, Bucky proposed to you that same night. He might have not looked great, exhaustion and pain written across his face with dirt and blood-stained clothes on but his eyes held love and a fiery passion. Your heart was so full at that moment and remained to stay full, never showing any emptiness.

Because Bucky wouldn’t allow it to.

You two got married in a year, then had your loving son months later since Bucky didn’t let you leave the bed during your honeymoon unless it was necessary. You two were finally together and free to live the way you wanted. Deserved. The amount of joy and enthusiasm Bucky held within him wasn’t enough to show how thankful he was to you for giving him the most precious gift of all.

Being a father.

He never thought he’d see the day with the path he was heading but then you made that happen. He swore he’d never let you down… so you thought.

“Mrs. Barnes, you ready to head out?” Your driver poked his head through the open crack of the nursery door, pulling you out from your memories.

You nodded. “Yeah, we’re ready. Just grab his diaper bag and my suitcase. It’s in my room, on the bed.” You smiled before looking down at James. “Here we go.” You hummed, picking him up before resting James against your chest as he nuzzled into your neck.

Walking out of the nursery, you waved goodbye to the housekeepers who lived in your luxurious home. Bucky insisted having them since your house was humongous and you’d never be able to clean such a spacious place on your own with a baby around. He couldn’t bare you having that stress put on you, so he hired them to help.

“Mary, did Bucky call?” You asked the nanny, who you’ve grown to adore, as you stepped out of your mansion to the car.

“Yes, I did ma’am. I told him you were feeding James. He said to have you call him after.” Mary smiled, taking James from your arms as she situated him in his car seat.

“I’ll give him a call while we’re on the way there. It’s a two-hour plane ride, which is very convenient with this little stinker. Thank you.” You pulled Mary into a hug before stepping into the car. Your driver rounded the car, shutting your door before quickly taking the driver’s seat and taking you to the airport.

Your stomach fluttered with butterflies as your nerves jumped eagerly throughout your body. It took a lot in you not to spoil the surprise for Bucky but you knew he’d appreciate it more than you felt. You were sure Bucky would scold you for coming at a late time but at least he’d get to spend the next day with you and the baby.

James’ light coos grasped your attention as you softly tickled his sides only for him to grab your hand and stuff it inside his mouth.

“Oh my god, James, I just fed ya.” Your tone went high and baby-like as you continued to talk to your son hoping it’ll calm your nerves.

“I hope Papa feels better after seeing us… he sounded lonely when I talked to him this morning.” You quietly sighed before leaning back in your seat, staring out the window as the warmth in your stomach slowly drifted away.

I think it will be cute watching a little thing walk in and seeing his face drop and Steve holding in laughs because he knows Bucky in deep shit

A/N: Oh Bucky's in troooooouble. A quick one. Also, only 15 followers away from 1,000, I need to think of a celebration quick!

A quick knock on the door prompts a growl from Bucky at being interrupted. “What?!” He calls out.

“Er…boss?” Peter, one of his newest recruits nervously stands in the doorway.

“I said I wasn’t to be interrupted.” Bucky rests his head in his hands, lifting his head only to pinch at the top of his nose whilst he waits for Peter’s nervous reply.

“I know boss, but she said…”

“She?”

“Miss Y/N.”

A scoff from the side of the room suddenly pulls Bucky from his frustration, a shot of panic rippling through his body.

“Y/N’s here? What did you do Buck?” Steve asks, trying to hold down his laughter.

“It’s more like what didn’t he do Stevie. Thanks Peter, I got it from here.” You pat the young lad on the shoulder before strutting into Bucky’s office, your heels clicking on the expensive wooden floors, your bag hanging at your side, your favourite dress adorning your body, clinging to your curves in just the right places. Just as Bucky liked it.

“Hey…er…hi kitten…” Bucky replies nervously, Steve spluttering from the corner trying not to make eye contact with Sam as they both try to hold in their laughter.

“That’s all you have to say Buck?”

“You look beautiful.” He gestures to your dress, his gaze smouldering as he follows your dress to where it meets your bare legs.

“Of course, I do. But why am I dressed nicely James?”

“Uh oh. She called him James.” Sam whispers across the room to Steve.

Bucky tries to ignore his friends whispering behind him as he attempts to focus on you. He racks his brain to the events of this morning before he left for work.

“You’re always beautiful kitten, always dressed beautifully.” Bucky offers, glancing back at Steve nervously, his friend simply shrugging with a smirk on his face.

“Take a guess James. Why. Am. I. Dressed. Like. This.” You punctuate each word with a step towards him until you’re standing in front of his desk, leaning forward till you are inches from his face. He swallows nervously, his Adam’s apple bobbing as he watches your features for any clues.

Steve gets up from his seat at the side of the desk, squeezing your arm as he passes you.

“We’re just gonna leave you to it. We’ll sort out the other stuff.” Steve calls out to Bucky on his way out, clapping Sam on the shoulder as he motions for them to leave. He sends you a quick wink before disappearing through the door. “Give him hell Y/N!” He shouts through the door as it closes.

You smirk as you look down at Bucky, watching him carefully, his mind working overtime to work out where he has gone wrong. Suddenly his face brightens in recognition, feeling proud of himself before it’s quickly replaced by a look of disappointment.

“Oh doll, I’m so sorry.” He reaches for you, and you flinch away from him, shaking your head.

“We’ve been planning this for weeks. I waited at the restaurant for you, like we planned.” Your earlier angry resolve breaks slightly as your voice cracks.

“Kitten I promise I will make it up to you.”

You lean back down towards him again, faces so close that Bucky could touch your lips in a kiss, but he doesn’t dare. Not after what he’s done. Your eyes glint mischievously, Bucky wrapped tightly around your finger, oh how you would milk this opportunity dry.

“Oh, I know you will Buck.”

The Burden I Hold

Thought I’d just write something, it’s really short😭

MafiaBucky x Fem!Reader

Warnings: none, one bad word

Summary: Your younger sister, MJ, has gone missing and Bucky may or may not know who’s behind it.

You paced back and forth in your New York apartment with a bounce in your step. Tapping the call button you held the phone up to your ear.

“Hey MJ, call me back ASAP, You won’t BELIEVE what I was just told. Love you bye.” You said after the beep.

MJ had gone out to a party just a few hours ago when you got a call from Sam saying that Bucky's on a flight to the states.

He’s been overseas for some business since graduating college. He thought it was a good idea since you were going back to school for law. He would visit for the holidays as best as he could.

You’ve known Bucky and Sam since High school, and have been inseparable. Especially Bucky, he’s always been your best friend.

You waited around another hour, watching tv, eating snakes. Anything to keep your excitement in check. You couldn’t call Bucky because his return was obviously supposed to be a surprise.

It was now going on at 10:30 and you were getting worried, so you grabbed your phone on the coffee table and called Mj again. It rang a few times and went to voicemail.

“MJ, give me a call, please,” You said with less enthusiasm than earlier. “I don’t want to tell you over the phone so hurry your ass back here.”

You ended the message, turned off your TV, and cleaned up your snacks. Now more worried you padded off to your room, flopping down onto your bed.

You stuffed your face into your pillow “BUCKY’S BACK!” Yours scream muffle from the cotton sack. Before you could stop yourself you fell asleep.

You were woken up by loud banging on your front door.

“MJ you have a key!” You yelled. Wait, MJ? You thought shooting out of bed with the speed of light.

“MJ, you won’t believe who’s coming back,” You ran to the front door rambling about how she’s gonna be so happy and that it’s the best surprise of her life.

“Ok I know he said he wouldn’t be here-” You squealed opening the door but stopped mid-sentence. Your face fell completely.

“Are you Y/N L/N?” one of the officers asked.

You nodded and looked over to the other. Your heart shattered completely when you saw the hoodie that MJ left with in his hands.
