Tier 1: As stated in today's fact, Shizuku and Haruka can be considered the most attractive characters in the game, as multiple characters have shown attraction to them. Shizuku moreso than Haruka, but there's not too much of a difference to separate the tiers.

Tier 2: These characters have all been stated somewhere to be attractive.

Mafuyu is considered to be outstanding in all fields, including appearance. It's occassionally commented that she is quite pretty. Ichika and KAITO's first kizuna title is "Ikemen while playing", ikemen meaning handsome or cool. Ena has a Twitter account for selfies that has a reasonable following, and she often gets comments saying that she's pretty or cute. Len has a similar sort of idol aura to Haruka does, and is referred to as 'princely'.

Tier 3: These characters are never explicitly stated in the game to be attractive, but you can work it out.

A few background characters in Petit SEKAI Episode 9 mention that Akito and Toya are hot. Given that the miniseries is non-canon and a gag show it's up for debate how true this is, although it is a believable detail, hence why they're in this tier.

As for Rui, we have to look at the Valentine's Virtual Live from 2021 (wiki screenshots below). Keep in mind here that Rui is not popular in school at all and doesn't have many friends at this point in the game. He mentions that he received a few boxes of chocolate in his shoe locker on Valentine's Day, which admittedly could be platonic. However, the fact that this continues on into a joke about Tsukasa trying to claim that he got chocolates too before revealing that he got friendzoned by multiple girls (more on that in a second), makes it seem more likely that these weren't platonic. Linking back to the fact that he's not popular and doesn't really have many friends, he's probably pretty good-looking.

Tier 4: An being scouted as a model was an important part of the plot of Wishing For Your Happiness Upon The Blue Sky, and it's mentioned in an area conversation that Kanade has been talent scouted for modelling before.

Tier 5: Full disclosure that probably all of the MMJ VSingers are either pretty or cute, the ones mentioned here are just the ones I remember it being stated/implied. In the April Fools 2022 area conversation with the Lukas, MMJ!Luka says that WxS!Luka is very cute. N25!Luka calls her MMJ variant out for calling herself cute, and MMJ!Luka says that she herself is cute. (TL)

Kohane is mainly referred to as cute by An, which is biased, but other characters have pointed this fact out before as well, so she qualifies for this tier.

Mizuki loves cute clothes and accessories and always tries to look cute. I believe a few other characters have called them cute, but unfortunately the only instance I can actually remember is one transphobic faceless background character saying "you can't tell and they're super cute".

Also Minori and Airi are here because they're idols and have been called cute because that's part of being an idol I suppose.

Tier 6: Yes he gets his own tier because it's funny. This guy runs on rule of funny like 50% of the time. Anyway, as mentioned earlier, in the 2021 Valentine's Virtual Live, he gets annoyed when he hears Rui talking about receiving (implied romantic) chocolate and tries to claim that he too received (implied confession) chocolate, before saying too much and revealing that he only received friend chocolates that girls gave out to all the other boys as well.

Tsukasa's actually a lot more popular than Rui and doesn't have the same "outcast" reputation, plus in his A Once-In-A-Lifetime Pandemonium card story, Ibuki (Taniyama) mentions that Tsukasa's friends from class are really popular with girls, and Rui's friends are surprised he's in that kinda crowd (not that Tsukasa quite gets it). What I'm saying is that he's in a crowd of popular guys that are good with women and he's failing in that second aspect. The reason why is never stated but considering the school's resident outcast is able to get Valentine's chocolate for probably no reason other than looks, it's safe to assume Tsukasa is maybe lacking in that field.

But.

I think two guys have flirted with him? One definitely has anyway. The other is more up for debate but was probably written with the intent of ship tease. Depends on how you choose to interpret it.

In other words on a scale of attractive to unattractive he's the secret 3rd option (appeals to the mlms).

Following up on the Kanade post, let me remind you that all niigo members have ribbons and, obviously, all of those have meanings.

Collars and ribbons were always used as a mark of property, something you can't untie with easiness, something that can be an accessory just as a choking trap, so I think it fits fairly well. Let's look at some examples:

Kanade's is striking because unlike with the others there is no red to be found on her design, yet it's still a crucial part of her. Red, the colour of passion, of rage, of danger and of life. In literary analysis, red collars and strings often symbolize guilt or crime.

Just like Kanade, all the Virtual Singers also have red ribbons around them. And if that's not enough, Luka and Meiko have red strings wrapped around their hands, opposite to each other.

Mafuyu's is blue, but not the faithful light blue of Kanade's eyes, it's dark like the depths of despair. And not be your average lit professor but blue symbolises sadness and depression in any media.

Ena's is brown. The most common of all colours, the colour of dirt, of mud, or muddled paint, but also of vitality.

Mizuki's is pink, the colour of cute pretty things. And maybe if it's tight enough around their neck they can become one too.

Not only that, but all niggo members wear a black one too. Black, the colour of the night, of despair, of death and sorrow. But not the colour of Nightcord.

Because Nightcord is purple.

Purple combines the calm stability of blue and the fierce rage of red. It is often associated with mystery, ambition, creativity or wisdom and is on this thin line between warm and cold colours, black and colourful. But it's neither of those, nor life or death, nor joy nor woe.

And if that's not niigo I don't know what is.

Mizuki will try to make group's visuals even more appealing. Their MVs are already awesome, but Mizuki will try even harder. Better, they should be better. What if MV isn't good enough? No, they don't want you to take your eyes off of them. They must make every second of MV stunning.

Tbh, all of the girls love watching you (other groups too). But compared to others, they do it more often. Much more often. They watch you sleep

Mizuki hummed in content, as you were choosing another outfit for them. Your face is so focused while you observe them, ah, you're just so cute! If they could only pinch your cheeks! Mizuki would love to go to shopping with you and Ena. For now, Mizuki will wear anything you gave them proudly.

Only you will be able to acces this songs, and no one else. They were written for you after all.

Teenager, eating her now forth cup of noodles, thinks of what kind of melodie should be next. She can't help but think of how comforted you would be by her song. Er..their song. She wants Niigo to be your favorite group.

warnings - reader is referred to as handsome once (tsukasa), i wrote all of these in reader's pov but mafuyu's is mostly from her pov just for a bit of fun

a/n - part two, featuring the last two characters i didn't include. i hope you enjoy ~ and here's part one for everyone who missed it and wants to read it!

"Enough, villain scum!" Tsukasa declares, pointing at you with a stern expression. "I shall not let your reign of terror affect this land any longer!"

You let out a low chuckle, smirking in (what you hoped) was a suitably evil way. "Foolish hero... You really.... uh... you really think you can stop me?!"

You point your weapon at him (which was just a spare pencil of Tsukasa's). "You're far too, um, determined! You should've known when to quit! But now, I shall show no mercy!"

Tsukasa shakes his head, pointing his own sword (a.k.a pen) at you in response. "Then neither shall I! Enguarde!"

Tsukasa drops his arm and grins at you, putting his hands on his hips. "That was perfect!! Thank you so much for helping me with that scene, my dear partner!"

You chuckle awkwardly. "Aw, I'm glad I could help... Although, I felt a little out of place next to you. You're basically a professional actor, and I kept forgetting my lines, ehe..."

"Oh, it's fine, really." Tsukasa shakes his head, laughing. "It was enough to help me practice the lines I needed. Also, I'm not sure if I'd say I was professional yet, you know? We only just became freelancers."

"Ah, right," your cheeks heat up in embarrassment. "Sorry! It's just that I forget you're not professional yet sometimes. To me, you're the greatest actor in the whole world!"

Tsukasa suddenly loudly coughs and turns away, covering his face with his hand. That didn't stop you from seeing the red hue overtaking his face.

"I-I mean, um, of course I am! I, ah, I'm certainly the most brilliant star in the world...!" He says, face turned away from you and not making eye contact - definitely not for any reason! Definitely not because the utter sincerity in your eyes you have when complimenting him is what makes him feel so embarrassed in the first place.

You catch onto this and can't help feeling gleeful about making Tsukasa go so red. You love him, of course, but you also love seeing him like this. His reactions are just... cute.

"Of course you are!" You continue on, grinning innocently. "Not only that, but the prettiest star in the whooooole galaxy!"

"Ack-!" The way Tsukasa responds makes it sounds like your words alone have injured him. You wonder how he manages to be so unintentionally dramatic sometimes.

"Well, ah, I think you're incredibly handsome yourself." He finally manages to say, lowering his hand and looking at you again.

You bound over and hug him, resting your head on him. "You're too sweet! I love you!"

Tsukasa takes a deep sigh as he calms himself down again, before he puts his arms around you and smiles softly.

"I love you too, my dear co-star. Now! Shall we continue with our practice?!"

It's that time of year again, when her classmates complain about how cold it is and she can see her own breath in front of her outside.

She wraps her jacket around herself a little more tightly as she walks beside you through the park. According to you, it was the quickest way to your home from school. Mafuyu usually just walked through the city, though.

Her gaze drifts to you, who is shivering beside her as she walks. It's curious to her - you look so cold, but you never accept the scarf she tries to give you, even though Mafuyu doesn't feel that cold. And yet, despite being cold, you're still looking around in wonder at the colorful scenery in the park. The oranges, reds and browns of the leaves in the trees were very pleasing to the eye.

And yet, you looked at them like they were the prettiest thing in the world. Mafuyu wonders how someone could have so much joy for something they've likely seen many times by now.

"Oh, Mafuyu! Look!" You suddenly race forward and pick a leaf off the ground. It's a beautiful shade of red.

"I've never seen a leaf so colorful!" You exclaim brightly, holding it out to Mafuyu. "Here, you should keep it."

"Why?" She asks, turning her attention back to you. "It's just a leaf, isn't it?"

"Yeah, but it's pretty!" You pout. "Please?"

If you were so insistent, then Mafuyu thought she might as well. She takes the leaf from you, studying it for a few moments before putting it in her shirt pocket so she won't forget about it.

"Yay! Thank you, Mafuyu~!" You cheer, before taking her hand and hurrying off. "Now, c'mon! I wanna get home already, it's super cold out."

Mafuyu makes sure to follow you at the same pace to not drag behind. Even though you're cold, your hands still feel warm.

The two of you make it back home safely. You visibly relax the minute you step into the home as you regain heat in your body again. You rush into the kitchen, calling behind you - "I'm gonna make us hot chocolate! You go wait in the living room, okay?"

Mafuyu watches you go for a few moments, before walking into your living room and sitting as you told her to. She pulls a pillow into her lap and leans on it as she waits for your return.

When you come back, you're holding two mugs of hot chocolate, topped in whipped cream and marshmallows. Mafuyu hadn't ever had something like this before, her mother thought it was too sweet and would be bad for her.

"Here!" You set down the mug on the table in front of Mafuyu and sit down beside her, drinking it happily.

Mafuyu takes a sip. It's warm - on her tongue, and on her hands, where she holds the mug.

Warm. Just like you.

Assigning PJSK characters an alternative subculture!

One of my biggest interests are alternative subcultures so it's time to assign some to the PJSK ocs! Feel free to reply with your own thoughts and headcanons.

Firstly, let's get the characters who are already implied to be in certain subcultures out of the way. Notably Saki and Mizuki. As we're all aware of, Saki is implied to be a gyaru and Mizuki is definitely in the lolita/ouji subculture.

Saki would a Kogal/Kogyaru since her outfits reflects the kogal style like the cards above! I also like to think that if ColoPale weren't cowards, her everyday outfits and makeup would feature the Ganguro style. Though Mizuki has many cards that depict them in different kinds of lolita/ouji fashion (such as gothic ouji and sweet lolita) I personally don't think they have a fixed aesthetic and simply just sew/buy whatever looks cute. (And trained cards don't exactly reflect what the PJSK ocs would wear in the canonical universe.)

Now that we've done a quick run down on the already alternative PJSK ocs, it's time to assign subcultures!

To summarize, I believe that:

L/N: Ichika - Grunge, Saki - Ganguro, Honami - Mori Kei, Shiho - Heavy metal

MMJ: Airi - Himegyaru, Shizuku - Mori Kei (For Minori and Haruka, I'm genuinely unsure...)

VBS: Hip-hop

WXS: Tsukasa - Goth (surprise!), Emu - Decora, Nene - Cybergoth/Cyberpunk, Rui - Scene (duh)

N25: Kanade is the type of musician to know what every alternative subculture's music sounds like purely for composing purposes, Mafuyu: Hardcore Punk, Ena: Jirai Kei who indulges in Riot GRRRL music, Mizuki: Unfixed Lolita/Ouji

Further elaboration under the cut because some of these are far-fetched. (Goth Tsukasa is real, I promise)

About Ichika: I know that Punk is often looked down upon by guitarists because it's sloppy and often doesn't involve proper music theory and Grunge is influenced by Hardcore Punk so why would Ichika be that. My answer is: Kurt Cobain flannel.

About Tsukasa: Tsukasa is a jazz/classical music type of guy. However, please consider Tsukasa admiring Post-punk vocals (specifically Siouxsie's) and how goth music's lyrics are beautiful and poetic. Imagine him writing show scripts to ethereal wave music. Tsukasa probably wrote the Romeo and Juliet script while listening to deathrock. He is a romantic/ethereal goth and you cannot convince me otherwise.

About Rui: JUST! LOOK AT HIM! That man is a scene guy.

About Mafuyu: She needs to let her inner rage out so I assigned her hardcore punk for that reason. Just imagine her aggressively strumming one of Kanade's guitars.

kanade yoiskai

she kinda has a hard time expressing it,, but she's a total sweetheart. like once you two get really close she gets really soft

kanade usually isn't one for things like close contact, but occasionally when she's worked herself to the bone she doesn't mind laying on your chest for a quick nap

she's kinda stressed out a lot, so she really appreciates neck massages and stuff. make her a cup of tea and she'll appreciate you forever (she probably won't drink it but it's the thought that counts)

needs constant reminders to eat and sleep and do basic functions. leave little sticky notes reminding her to brush her teeth!!!! she appreciates it deeply but doesn't show it very well

she likes to play her trauma off as something normal,, like if you worry about her she's genuinely confused like ???? is that not normal?????

she loooves flowers. loves to inspect and smell them. any flowers you give her go in a vase somewhere in her room,,, she likes to think it gives her room more life

although, you'll probably have to remind her to water them and let sunlight in.... she rlly wants to take care of them but forgets!!!

ough. owwww. ouuuuch.

it's really difficult for her to open up!!! it'd probably only happen if you were to hear about her music,, ask her what it's about and she might just. break down

oh god. if you like. held her in your arms while she's crying. her parental issues are hitting HARD

she likes to get you flowers but only really does it on occasion! in all honesty she'd love to get you hand-picked flowers every single day but she finds it a little embarrassing to bring them to your locker in front of everyone

it's really hard for her to get situated into the relationship, patience and reassurance are everything 2 her. be genuinely kind and god it hurts her so bad

you take her to the aquarium whenever she's feeling down ... it always makes her feel a bit better . also all dates r aquarium dates no arguing

she likes to help you with homework, and if you're just too tired or worn out she'll even do it for you!! might tell you the next day that it was a one time thing that won't happen again (it will)

freezes up a little if you suddenly grab her hand, but eventually warms up to it and even starts subconsciously holding your hand when she's feeling on-edge or anxious

ena shinonome

ena is, admittedly, a bit scared of commitment. you might be at an awkward stage where you're not really sure whether or not the two of you are dating for awhile

even so, she's very supportive of everything you like. any sort of art, hobby, or music you're into she'll also get into in hopes of connecting with you

might post you on her social media!!! if you're camera shy she sneaks photos while you're not looking, but won't post them if you don't want her to (might on her priv tho)

she wants a lot of your approval, esp with her art. texts you drawings and asks for your honest opinion... she won't take a simple "it's amazing" for an answer

she wants you to criticize and give her advice ,,,, but she'll also get really sad if you do, so maybe it's better to just keep complimenting them . she acts mad abt it but is secretly happy you know her so well

she actually has always wanted to do sappy couple things,,, like watching movies together in bed or taking stupid photos with cheesy filters . might get a lil embarrassed if her friends find out

always takes photos of your food on dates (and sneaks a bite)

mizuki akiyama

mizuki loves to drag you around shopping at the mall . as soon as you think it's about to end they see another pretty store . it's a never-ending loop

she begs and begs for you to try on something she thinks you'd look cute in. you always give in just because it's practically mizuki's love language

you don't often find yourself doing stereotypical couple things with them . from an outside perspective it honestly might just look like you two are really good friends

but that doesn't mean they don't love you like that !! it's shown in other ways ... like sleeping over at your place for a week, or waiting at the bus stop for you every single day. or doing your makeup (even if you're a dude).

mizuki wants one thing and that's stability . to be confident that you two are never going to bicker or argue over stupid things ... or that you won't abandon her

she has a very hard time opening up. she'll tell you, eventually ... but the thought is scary. would you tell other people? would you leave them? would your relationship stay the same?

there's nothing mizuki appreciates more than you telling them that you'll stay, no matter what secret they might be hiding. even if she can't help but worry , knowing that your care is at least mostly unconditional is heart-warming

mizuki will appreciate every moment they have with you, for fear that one day you won't be here

akito actually somewhat looks up to tsukasa because of his determination to become a star and sometimes compliments him on his passion, then tsukasa says something dumb and akito automatically regrets his compliment

toya dreads going home sometimes so he sleeps over at akito's house or the sekai, when it's the sekai, rin and len make it be a big sleepover but that tires toya out even more

if tsukasa saw all of the plushies of him he would buy all of them and be super overjoyed and talk to them and treat them like his children and love them very much

emu gets bruised easily and always uses those cartoony cute bandaids that fall off in 5 seconds (she knows they fall off easily so she just puts a different one on when they come off so she gets so many cartoon bandaids)

nene is really good at shooter games, she plays overwatch and team fortress 2 the most (mains reaper and spy) and used to play fortnite when it was super popular, she was the best at it in her class

when people comment about rui's color scheme of his outfits, he says he's colorblind as a defense but he just really has a unique taste in color and is sensitive about it

kanade's mom used to braid kanade's hair all the time when she was little, and mizuki loves braiding her hair since it's so long, and when she does kanade leaves it in for as long as she can because it makes her feel sentimentally happy and reminds her of her mom
