Pls someone talk to me about the quiet codependence Rust and Marty have, the too-easy domesticity they can fall into. Their constant arguing and moral disagreement and that blends so easily into sharing clothes and a bottle and a home. The open hostility that silently becomes worry when no one else is watching. The implicit, unyielding trust that's never questioned and always counted on, between two people born and living in a world that's punished trust from the beginning.

i think the adam parrish hill i might actually be willing to die on is that while i think he is otherwise one of mstief's most nuanced creations, his characterization really suffers from how maggie walks him directly into the trope of "socioeconomically disadvantaged and/or traumatized character overcompensates for the trouble they've gone through by being an overproductive member of society" without ever really considering the impact of making him so structurally marginalized.

Margareta “Maggie”, the imp.
Flashback: 9 years ago, as a 15 years old girl.
Maggie always was a bit more childish and sillier than her peers. Mischief was her second name, she always pranked people, and (lovingly) got on their nerves.
Present: 24 years old.
She hasn’t changed much. Until today, chaos follows her everywhere in life, calm days are almost unknown to her. But she also embraced her goofy side completely.
